An old historic pub with great views, plenty of outdoor seating. We only came for drinks, but the food smelt lovely. Very obliging staff.

Went for a drink and to eat here last week. The outside area is lovely with a great view. Both with the food and from service , the people that work there , you can tell they care about the people they are serving.

Asked at the Bar on entering what’s - what, young guy behind the bar said find a seat and we’ll come and take your drinks order. So we sat and waited for probably 10 minutes then went to the bar and the same guy then said oh no - you order here at the bar. Ordered some drinks and 2 meals - bar guy said he’d bring them over after 5 minutes he came over and said we have no Peroni so I ordered Meretti, which he brought over along with a glass of lemonade ordered with no ice but had ice in!. Food arrived -sausage and mash and peas and a steak and ale pie with chips and veg. Veg was tasteless and gravy was just bistro gravy - sausage and mash was ok with the same bistro gravy. Young staff serving and not much idea - asking if everything was ok when we hadn’t had anything yet? £18 for pie and £17 for sausage we won’t be rushing back!

Visited the Ram Inn after a long time. It did not disappoint at all. From the welcoming smile at the bar from Michelle, who was more than happy to serve and give us reviews on the food menu. We were made to feel very welcome, and the atmosphere did the rest. Tge food and dessert topped off the evening and we will definable return.

Great good 👍🏼 would go again! Me and the family love local and always head here for dinner & Sunday dinner highly recommended

Called in for a drink after a walk with our dog a few miles away. Read it says "WE'VE A GREAT RANGE OF REAL ALES" After going in a for a drink to chill and relax, had one pint and left. After ordering a pint of Landlord and a soda water for my wife the barmaid couldn't even remember what I'd ordered after putting the order through the till and taking payment. Only had Landlord and White Witch real ales on, not a lot of real ales !! Be quite a while before returning.

Lovely pub in a great setting, nice staff and huge potential. Menu is extremely limited. No good if you are vegetarian or vegan which is a shame as we are a family of vegetarians and it’s our local pub but okay for a glass of wine and a bowl of chips.

Pub is in a lovely area and the place itself is very cosy. Meeting up with friends and thought this would be the ideal place. Menu limited, my sister is vegetarian, not much for her so she ordered cheese and onion pie, this came with gravy which was snatched away as stated not vegetarian but no further gravy was forthcoming. The fish and chips very disappointing, plate full of chips which I find overbearing and the fish was overdone with the batter hard (not much fish in the batter to be honest) . A real shame as this could be a good eating place 😕

Booked here for my partners mothers day meal with me and our two children. Booked for 5pm as our children need to be in bed for 7.30pm Menu was very limited with not a great deal to chose from and after waiting for our food for over an hour (which I kind of expected and wasn’t to mad at with it being Mother’s Day) I decided to ask a staff member to check in on our food which turned out that our food had not even been made. They offered to put the food on but at this point it was too late so we had to leave. A full refund was issued but unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Stunning location with gorgeous views and the food didn’t disappoint either. Went with a friend today for lunch, we found The Ram a beautiful pub with excellent staff and service. The food was delicious and we both throughly enjoyed it. Will definitely call again .

Went for an evening meal for my wife's birthday. Ignored by the person behind the bar for a while, other member of staff walked past without a word several times. If the kitchen person hadn't appeared I think I would still be waiting. Had 2 steak and ale pie. Both were over-reheated and so dry they were almost inedible. Gravy was OK, chips were hot. Wine was good. No atmosphere and not welcoming. Disappointed. Only acknowledgement was when we were leaving. Price was OK if it was good food but it wasn't.

We visited on Saturday 24th February for the carvery, having previously dined from the main menu, and also for breakfast on another occasion, (both of which were delicious). We'd heard great things about the carvery and finally got to try it for ourselves. I don't think you could get a better carvery elsewhere, everything was cooked to perfection, plentiful and couldn't be faulted. We followed the main course up with the divine apple pie and custard. For those who don't know already, all the food is home cooked and the chef clearly aims for perfection and to give the diner a top culinary experience. I highly recommend a visit here, you won't be disappointed. Try to book in advance, as word about the quality of food is rightly getting round.

First time visiting the Ram, We will definitely go again, be nice to sit out in summer with lovely views. Only downfall was my son is vegan with only 1 option on the menu, which he doesn't like. He could have had pizza, but they had no vegan cheese. If the menu extends it's vegan options ' then we will definitely be regular customers. My son opted for Garlic Bread, Onion Rings and Chunky Chips, the onion rings are massive, so he was quite satisfied and full with his food. The food came quickly, was piping hot, good size portions and delicious. My g-daughter is autistic and doesn't like noise, so we sat in a nice quiet area near the window. The staff were all very nice, polite and helpful. The music was amazing took me back to my childhood, I even had a little dance with to entertain my g-daughter. Warning - The car park is very busy and full between 3pm and 3-45pm, due to parents picking children up from the school across the road. It's been a long time since I enjoyed food like the Ram offered. Although the menu is not extensive. The sides are really good value, plenty and excellent value. Looking forward to visit again soon.

We haven't been here for a couple of years now , and thought we would give it a try. New owners have taken over a few months back and I was pleasantly surprised. They now serve a carvery and it was beautiful, hot and delicious and top quality food 😋 Met the new owners who can't do enough for you, great atmosphere, very cosy, all the staff were so friendly checking if all was OK. Looking forward to going back very soon. Thankyou for a lovely dinner.

This place is now under new management, and to be honest, it really needed to be. Since December, we have visited a few times and have not been disappointed once. Firstly, the friendly staff who will go out of their way to assist you are a credit to the new management team. Then the delicious hot food we've had each time on our visit is great, especially the carvery which is one of my favourites. Finally, we have found it to be good value for money, unlike some other places around that area that we have also visited a few times.

We heard new people had taken over so decided to try it, ordered drinks intending to have food but it was so cold we all kept our coats even though most was drinking coffee, we didn’t stay for food it was that cold

What a fabulous lunch we had. The weekend menu was ace. We had 2 courses including the carvery which was delicious (the roast spuds were melt in your mouth). We had two different puddings and couldn’t fault them. We will definitely be going back!!

Decided to try this place as got new owners, we were all disappointed, Sat and Sun menu very poor, needs more choices. Scampi was average, rather inderior to be honest. Felt cold, no atmosphere at far end where we were sat.

Wasn’t aware there has been a change of management at The Ram but was met with a full car park when we arrived, unlike ever before. Hadn’t planned to eat due to many poor previous experiences.but the carvery looked very appealing. It was excellent quality, fresh & hot. From first impressions I’m now very optimistic that The Ram is heading to where it should be as a quality dining destination venue. I was told that that the pub group still own the building itself but the new (independent) operators are not tied in anyway other way to them apart from for wet sales & are free to run the business however they see fit. A big thumbs up review from me👍 Apparently they also do a breakfast buffet 7 days a week which we shall try tomorrow morning. Review of it to follow…….

I’ve visited the Ramm less frequently over the last few years however decided to pop in for an evening Sunday lunch by myself as I knew it it was under new management and as I run a pub myself I want to support. Carvery was brilliant, all 3 meats served and hot tasty veg with a lovely Yorkshire pud. Good service and great atmosphere. Well done Jim and team you’re doing a great job.

Arriving in the Pub that was absolutely freezing. We should have taken the option to leave for a warmer place which would have saved us the food experience. Two of us ordered the Steak and Ale pie as most of the menu wasn’t available. The pastry was like rubber. It appeared to have been pre cooked and then warmed up. The chips weren’t any better. They were tough and again appeared to have been cooked and reheated.

Three of us chose the cheese and onion pie at 12.95 which turned out to be a big disappointment. It was a large wedge of mash potato pie with a hint of cheese and no onion! We were not the only persons to leave most of the pie and making the most of the asparagus and chips. The host could have given us a 50% refund but chose not to.

Buffet breakfast, knowing the ram had a bad reputation for food , we decided to go for the breakfast with the recently new owners . The quality of the breakfast items were absolutely lovely, they were cooked and brought out fresh so a bit of a wait for certain items to complete your breakfast hopefully this will change when it gets a little busier. Unlimited brews for £2.40 extra. The owners were lovely, friendly and very accomodating , will definitely be coming back,, welcome to cliviger x

Went to our local to try it out and although there were a few unavoidable issues that were sorted out straight away our experience was very good, the food and staff were really good and we will be back.

New owners put on fireworks for 5th November. And did it go with a bang,yes it did. And food was exceptional will be back. Absolutely brilliant and staff so helpful 😀

Visited here tonight and the the owners put on fireworks and and bonfire,as busy as it was the staff and the owners bent over backwards to make sure everyone was catered for! We came as a family of nine and was taken care of,I would recommend coming here to anyone

Very friendly staff, good food and a nice location. A great selection of treats for visiting dogs. The disappointment was with the lamb shank meal. At £15.50, I would have expected some vegetables, along with the chive mash. It came with one sprig of broccoli and that was it! Two days earlier, my pie meal had arrived with a good selection of veg. Apparently that was correct for the lamb shank meal. I complained and the issue was resolved. But, some people may not complain and never return. So, add a proper amount of veg to the lamb shank meal, please!

My sisters birthday treat we had a great meal. Staff were really warm friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Amazing meal thanks guys. Very good value for money.

Really enjoyable vegan soy burger with chips. Filling. Lovely part of the town. Peaceful. Historical. Didn’t have any teas other than builders’ tea but there must not be much call for it. And no decaf cappuccino - just normal. But we had a nice time and my dad enjoyed his birthday lunch which is the main thing. Nice staff.

i am absolutely appalled by the service at this pub, being overcharged on the starters then when food was delivered it was delivered without cutalry and had to wait a long wait seeing if someone would come and check on our food so then we could ask for it . when we went to the bar we still didn’t receive the cutalry until about five minutes later when one of the workers came over with an outstanding attitude problem with her face on offering to reheat it or make another set off food but it will take a while . they were three members of staff and only one girl who looked like they were doing any work . the toilets were also broken with broken toilet seats. never to return again, very very dissapointed.
