Met a friend for lunch. The staff were very welcoming. We both had flat breads which were beautifully presented and very tasty, great value for money. Service was excellent. The only off putting thing was that the fitted seating area desperately needs reupholstering, but I understand that it has only recently been taken over and it takes time to get things how you want them to be.

The Thornton is a Fantastic clean, spacious & friendly pub. Plenty of great choices on the menu. Wide range of drinks too. Highly recommend calling in for a meal. Staff are really welcoming, food was delicious…..will definitely return , highly recommend

Booked the function space for an end-of-season Football party and the venue was perfect. Staff were lovely throughout, the booking process was really easy and they couldn’t do enough for us. Ordered the kids buffet and separately ordered individual meals for the adults - food was delicious! Would definitely recommend and book again!

Great pub with great food. We came with a vegetarian, someone with a wheat free diet, and children, and everyone was easily accommodated for. Good beer selection, and lovely beer garden overlooking the country park, it’s a fab location. Will define back!

Lovely meals at a reasonable price and lots of options to choose from. Staff very nice. Nice atmosphere.

We visited the Thornton Arms Brownside road Burnley on Friday 5th January. We had a lovely early evening meal served by Nicky who was most kind, friendly and very efficient-going the extra mile to make it an excellent enjoyable experience. Thank you, Lynda and Paul

The food and drink prices are very reasonable. I believe that a lot of pubs are in for a difficult time due to the price of everything increasing (particularly energy) and really hope that this place survives. I have never been to this place before but I will definitely be going back.

I went out for tea with a friend on 03.08.22 we both had a hot beef sanwich it was awful. We were pulling long pieces of fat and grizzle out - nasty

booked a function room, we had a do. the worker poppy mitchell was fabulous and a real superstar. in my opinion she deserves a raise.. a real worker!!!!! this young lady is a life saver, a god send, a true superstar. keep up the good work all, she went out of her way to make sure we were satisfied. such a great lady, a true woman!!!

Arrived a few minutes from 6pm and asked for a table, bar person looked at their watch and said it’s finished. Last three visits from lockdown - first time was full menu and lovely, second time just sandwich/ baked potato still nice, third time no option at all. Lack of information on website and obviously more focused on the drinking aspect of the pub.

Been coming here years always a smile from the bar staff and great food with a great price!! Will 100% be returning to this local pub and the owners always make you feel very welcome

Went up Friday evening to sit outside and eat. As usual I think there was a function on in the back room so no outdoor garden. The menu is basic to say the least and the food not much better...will not be going again for a long time

Pretty decent pub with loads of potential. However.... They need decent bar staff, I can only assume the barmaid tonight was dragged off the local council estate at the last minute!!! Behind the bar serving whilst constantly smoking her e-cig, wiping her snotty nose with the back of her hand and shouting a cross the pub at her friends on a nearby table. Very disappointing visit tonight and its usually ok. Sort your bar staff out before you go under

Called in for a drink on our way to accrington. It was only lunchtime but was busy. Food looked good but we had eaten. Sat outside on the benches enjoying the great summer we are having. Nice friendly service with a smile. Will certainly call again.

Visited as a family of 4 for tea today. Excellent value - the childrens meals for £3.95 included a fruit shoot and scoop of ice cream, it was a decent size ice cream too. I had cheese and onion which was a very generous portion. It came with a choice of mash, skinny fries or chunky chips and peas, beans or salad. My partner had the chicken, leek and ham tangle pie which he thoroughly enjoyed. The pub is in a lovely setting with outdoor dining facilities too. Highly recommended for a cheap, tasty and home cooked meal. Will returm.

When as a party of six two weeks ago,good menu something for all.Nice friendly atmosphere lovely beer garden five different main meals all done perfectly at a good price will definitely be back

The thornton arms is one of the nicer pubs in Burnley! We cane here for my friends engagement party in October and we had a great night! Nothing negative to say

Visité los brazos Thornton el 9 de marzo para almorzar con mi marido y nuestro perro. Hay un paseo muy bonito lago round Rowley accesible desde el aparcamiento de pub. No primera este y luego fuimos al pub para el almuerzo. Nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos por la señorita detrás del bar que incluso ofreció al perro un tazón de agua. El menú era bastante grande y mi marido eligió la tarta de queso y cebolla mientras yo tenía un sandwich de atún que venía con ensalada de col delicioso fresco y encantador. Nos sorprendió el tamaño de la porción de tarta y las patatas fritas eran geniales. Fue un placer estar aquí y sin duda regresaría.

En este establecimiento 4 veces después de trasladarse a la zona,aunque la comida anunciada cada día tenemos sólo una vez conseguido se servía comida. La comida era buena y el servicio era bueno, pero me gustaría poder ir y sé que hay comida disponible

Visitamos con uno de mis clientes. Él tenía queso y tarta de cebolla, que estaba un poco quemado en la corteza, pero él lo disfrutamos. Tuve la salchicha picante ciabatta. Fue hermoso.

Hoy un amigo y yo tenía algo de almuerzo, tuve una taza de té, que cuesta 2 libras. 00 y necesitábamos llénelo con agua caliente, ya que estaba a sólo medio lleno, mi amigo tenía media coca cola que cuesta £1. 60. Tuve que comer cerdo barbacoa ciabatta con ensalada de col y el lado de mi amigo y yo pasamos un langostino butty con ensalada de col y lateral y aros de cebolla, tanto el costo aproximadamente £4. 50 cada uno. (cara de bebidas, precios razonables de comida) La camarera era amable y eficiente. En general no está mal.

Held my husbands 60th birthday party here, couldn't fault anything the staff were wonderful and the buffet was amazing,all our guests commented on how good the food was and they didn't skimp there was more than enough for everyone,would definitely recommend it.

Es un pub local mi marido y yo visitamos mientras caminando. Hemos celebrado un cumpleaños allí y también una llamada. Ya se ha hecho, es incluso mejor. Elegimos para mantener bebé de mi hija ducha aquí. Nos permitieron guarnecido y proporcionar algunas partes de nuestra propia comida. Pedí tarta y guisantes, que era muy razonable y delicioso. Fuimos muy afortunados con el tiempo y el espacio exterior tiene unas vistas preciosas. Todo el personal no podría haber sido más servicial, el personal del bar, personal de cocina, Chef y la casera creo. El vino era muy buen precio por una botella sólo 9,95 GBP £13.95 para y Prosecco.

Visited yesterday with my wife.I originally ordered the 8oz cheeseburger but unfortunately were sold out so the bbq bacon cheese chicken breast burger was recommended.my wife had prawn sandwiches and fries.both meals were delicious and very good value.service good too. Will return.

Mis padres acaban de celebrar el 60 aniversario de bodas en leyes Diamond en el Thornton en Burnley. Tenía la opción de una comida buffet o elección de opciones para nuestro grupo de más de 40 +. Opción de buffet era excelente y variada y muchos clientes han comentado lo buena que era la comida. La habitación era de tamaño ideal para un grupo de nuestro tamaño y el personal era muy atento a nuestras necesidades y exigencias específicas tanto en la planificación y en la noche. Amplio aparcamiento y sala de fiestas conduce a una zona exterior para sentarse, ideal en un buen día o noche. Muy popular para cualquier evento de celebración, superó nuestras expectativas.

Fantastic family meal we had a party of 26 excellent food and service.we were made very welcome. Well done to all the team at the Thornton Arms.

Stayed here last night for a club annual dinner. It was a fix-priced meal ; Some members had two and some three courses. The room was at the rear of this clean ,newly renovated Heineken - owned pub.The room was cold but we settled down and the soup was fair , being of a decent ammount with a large chunk of bread. Suitably impressed we mostly loooked forward to our main course. those that had ordered the beef were bitterly disappointed. It being nearly raw, stringy and inedible, We had in our midst a master butcher who was politely critical of the meal. The vegetables were one piece of brocolli and a few frozen carrot pieces. Half a potato adorned the plates , (lookingalmost lonely until I asked the waitress for more and duly received some.). Leaving most of us hungry we were looking forward to our dessert which in my case was a fruit crumble.. Except there was no crumble, just a bowl of a hot ,jam-like subsatnce only.. What is going on here is a pure non-caring attitude for the customer. i still can't see how the cooks can not be bothered to at least try to get it right.. It's not rocket-science to properly cook meat and provide a bit of crumble on top of the fruit! Surely??!

Visited for first time since refurbishment for lunch. The new look is very nice with a good atmosphere.Staff very friendly and helpful and food excellent, in fact portions so big that I was unable to finish it!Only downside I found was that I had rung the day before to ask about Veggie meals for my friend and was told that they had two or three options. On arrival it turned out that they only did Cheese and Onion Pie and Veggie Chilli. However, we did not let this spoil our lunch and my friend did enjoy what she had. To be fair one of the owners, who served us, did admit that their veggie options were not great. Hopefully this can be rectified and there will be more of these options in the future.Pricing for lunch was reasonable and we would visit again if more veggie options added to the menu.

I would like to say how much we enjoyed this evening. Friendly staff and great service. The fireworks display was absolutely amazing the kids loved it.... During the display my daughter said it was better than the big Blackpool event which cost a fortune and your event was great value for little money... well done xxx

A fab venue for a gathering. The room and whole place is light and bright. The two rooms for the party are lovely. The buffet was delicious and the whole afternoon and evening was great. Staff were friendly and efficient. The Thornton Arms is more than just a blokes pub!Give it a try!!!

Had lunch a couple of lunches and evening meals here over the last few weeks and have not been disappointed .The menu is varied and very reasonably priced.The Cheese and onion pie my favourite so far .The new look is modern and bright .The staff pleasant and attentive and we wish all concerned all the best for the future .

At long last this venue has had a refurbishment following a change of management. The new team are trying hard to turn around a previous negative atmosphere that has haunted the business. It will take a little time but like anything else, with faith, they will prevail and desrvedly so. Good selection of real ales and lovely venue for functions. Don't expect reataurant food.They serve traditional pub fayre that is wholesome and fairly priced. Large car park with easy access for wheelchairs to the interior and beer garden. It's worth a visit or to make it your local pub.

I am just been to my first grand-daughters christening and the party was held at the Thornton Arms. I went up on Tuesday to pay a deposit and they were decorating the other half of the pub to a very nice standard. I paid £4.50 a head for 70 people - total £315.00- the food I was served was worth about £70 on a good day. Very very poor quality- they certain had been to iceland for the frozen food- the food was very very below average. When I entered the pub I asked is that all the buffet- about 6 trays of mediocre sandwiches (think home bargains takeaways)- they said no the hot food is coming!!! Peter Andre was done proud. The potato wedges were burnt and inedible -I dont think this says much for the chef. Would I recommend this pub - only to my worst ememies and I dont even hate them that much!!!

We held our wedding reception here on 4th July 2015. The inside and outside have had a total overhaul new flooring, decor, toilets the full works. We had around 150 guests with the Thornton Arms doing the catering. The buffet was fantastic. Pie and peas to die for and talk about excellent value for money! We took decorations up and they decorated the room to our instructions no 'we don't allow this'. There was plenty of room as we also used the outside terrace. The staff and owners went all out to make sure our day was special. Loved every minute of it wish we could do it all again today. Totally 100% recommend this place. Lots of our guests commented on how nice the place was

a well built building,but needs an overhaul inside , it is totally outdated although the bar staff where extremely pleasant, the real ale on offer was poor with only one beer for selection,the wine was a cheap price and tasted cheap.This pub could be excellent if it lifted its decoration uograded.Plenty of car parking space

needs refurb and is ghastly not a nice place to drink in convenient for people meeting from several places not to be recomended

Called in today for lunch and really enjoyed the food and the friendly welcome from the Staff. Freezing cold outside but the pub was very comfortable and warm.Very good value for money.

Plenty of food but of average quality. It was quiet but the staff were attentive. Probably better to eat there in the evening.

WOW!We weren't sure what to expect, tucked nicely out of the way with stunning views.On entering we were made to feel very welcome, directed to the dining area and menus provided.It's not table service, but it is a pub. We approached the bar to place our order for food and beverages, to be greeted by very happy and friendly staff.The food arrived, warm and delicious, much more than we could eat - so it's certainly value for money.We will be going back again very soon, we would recommend this to everyone.Thanks you, for such a lovely experience!
