Visited around 3:30 pm for coffee and cake. They had some wrapped Eccles cake and a few pieces of "home made" caramel cake. These didn't look attractive but we decided to give it a try anyway. How a respectable supermarket like Sainsbury's allows a cafe to be open when there is virtually no choice and when what is on offer is way below what is acceptable, is beyond belief. We paid almost £10 for dry cake and some coffee. Total waste of money and infuriating.

We stopped here for food following a walk round Wayoh Reservoir we all had the Sunday roast which was lovely and the children had the margarita pizza. Really nice food and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

My last visit a few years back with my family left much to be desired regarding the food quality. However, today's experience was utterly different. I enjoyed lovely fish and chips, featuring a generous portion of fish and crispy and hearty chips. The service was pleasant, and witnessing your efforts cleaning an already immaculate-looking establishment was pleasing. The staff was courteous and amiable towards my grandson. Continue on this path; you're doing a splendid job. 8 of us went for an evening meal. The Maitre D' was very rude and i think his saying is "the customer is always wrong." We asked if we could have seperate bills and he said NO. When he gave me the menu, I asked if there was another as the one on the website was different, again he said NO, the one on the website is out of date. One of our party didn't get their starter until we had to find someone and ask for it. The Main meal was awful, no seasoning or flavour. I must say my desert was nice, We were never asked, at any time if everything was alright. We wondered if we were at Faulty towers. When our bill arrived we again asked if he could bring seperated bills, He said " I've already told you NO. During our meal we could hear the Maitre D' telling 1 of the lovely waitresses off in a very loud agressive manner. He is very rude and a bully. He said he had worked there 23 years. God help them. We will NEVER go there again and will advise others not to.

Ate in the bar area on my way to Eskdale, as I had read about here in the AA Restaurant Guide. I certainly wasn't disappointed and found the service to be very friendly and the prices extremely reasonable (under £17 for a starter and a main). The starter was an extremely tasty chicken gyoza dumplings with a pea shoot salad and a sweet chilli sauce. My main consisted of a huge slab of chicken and leek pie with seasonal vegetables, thick cut chips and pan gravy. I couldn't eat any more after this as the pie was so huge, but ever so tasty. It was packed full of tasty filling and encased in a lot of pastry. It wasn't fancy, but was very rustic. If you love pie then definitely venture to here. I would certainly recommend this venue to others in the area....😁😁

We had a lovely fresh toastie and a delicious bacon barm with excellent coffee (latte and a flat white) - it was all soooooo nice! Lovely friendly and professional staff, from the easy and pleasant ordering experience (from a really delightful new member of staff - gr8 job!!), to top notch/quick service and VERY enjoyable eating :-) We highly recommended this cafe, and would like to thank everyone there for making it such a nice visit. We will definitely be back 👍 x
