Ever time we come to new Brighton we always have lunch here Always hot fresh and tasty, lovely fish and chips at the seaside Service quick and friendly

My wife and I just had fish x 2 and chips x 1 to takeaway from the Perch Fish Bar which we intended to eat in our car nearby. I regret not taking it back straightaway because the fish was inedible as it had dried out under the batter and must have been sitting for ages in the hot food compartment. In addition to this, the chips were lukewarm and full of eyes. We’re both very disappointed and will never return, just under £20.00 wasted. Unfortunately you sometimes have to learn by your mistakes when you make the wrong choice.

My last visit a few years back with my family left much to be desired regarding the food quality. However, today's experience was utterly different. I enjoyed lovely fish and chips, featuring a generous portion of fish and crispy and hearty chips. The service was pleasant, and witnessing your efforts cleaning an already immaculate-looking establishment was pleasing. The staff was courteous and amiable towards my grandson. Continue on this path; you're doing a splendid job. Nice fish and chips no bones in fish I would love it if they did delievery as every week have these delieved I don't have transport like to eat it at home as pack out 4 a table other comment fish is grass of oil idiot whose interested in eyelashes dunno shopkeepers get zero money on legs sorry if their not smiling like on drugs or cheshire cat 4 you it's called work fed up hard work if you don't like it tuf these shopkeepers have 2 put up with idiots gangs everywhere drunks moaning customers not much pay so keep your stupid comments 2 yourself Miss J Evans p.s. An excellent traditional chippy which serves freshly cooked food, reasonably priced and good quality too.

Had lunch here on a trip to New Brighton. Friendly service. Decent food. Pleasant sitting outside on the promenade eating traditional fish 'n' chips with a cuppa.

My two sisters and myself visited New Brighton last weekend and bought a takeaway lunch from this chip shop - one chips and gravy, one chips and fishcake and one portion of chips. I don't know what fat they use (I should have asked), but it certainly wasn't the cheap and nasty vegetable oil beloved of chip shops nowadays. The chips were delicious - real potatoes, well cooked and very tasty. The gravy also was lovely - bought by my sister, not myself, but she let me dip my chips in - fortunately it was a generous amount! I had the fishcake, which was crisp and tasty. The staff were lovely - friendly and helpful. I am hard of hearing and the assistant was very patient when he had to repeat himself a few times until I heard him. 10 out of 10 for everything, and I will definately be going there again!

I'm from the North East where we are spoiled with top class fish and chip shops in most towns and areas, so believe me where i say the North West in general is a pretty deprived area when it comes to most types of take aways save for the chinese and indian places in general... I moved to Liverpool in 2012 and good proper chippys are very few and far between, believe me, i've tried LOTS of them and can never find that one chippy where i feel i can say, yeah, i'd go back there. The Perch changed this though... none of this Chinese curry... proper chip shop curry. Chips are cooked properly and the batter they use is lovely and tasty, not this cardboard crap you see all over the north west that's still raw on the inside after its come out the fryer. Would definately recommend to anyone from North East who's looking for something close to the quality of back home. Friendly staff and polite, seems family run because they have young members of staff during holidays assuming they are the owners kids or relatives. Now, to find a decent Pizza place after 10 years in exile... still looking...

Silly that these only take cash, especially when the climate is still very much COVID conscious. They must be losing a lot of business. They must have lost at least £50 from us. We went elsewhere as didn't have cash 🤷‍♀️

After visiting a furniture warehouse in Birkenhead, we decided we wanted a quick lunch. Not knowing the area, we decided New Brighton was a good option to go to. Parked car on promenade and walked across to this Fish and Chip shop. People eating outside so the food looked OK, place itself is quite basic. Ordered 2 portions which were freshly cooked and took them back to car. The fish was large, with a light crip batter and chips were good without lots of small hard bits mixed in. At £6.90 a portion thought it was really good value and would definitely go again if in the area.

First went here in 2018, unimpressed, but this year several visits have been wonderful. Great chips, plenty of them, with good sized haddock in crisp batter. Quick service. Good value for money, too. No complaints at all.

Where ever I go I review chips. This is the thing that by experience is the worst thing in any cafe or restaurant. So today it is without question 10/10. proper potatoes - I assume proper animal fats and the chips a good quantity was eaten in the car park. Very upmarket !! They were brilliant none of your stupid McDonalds efforts. Proper chips like you used to get in proper chippys. Couldnt speak for anything else as thats all i had. Staff great VERY well done.

Hadn’t been here for a long time, only went today as other chippy was closed. So glad it was. Since our last visit things have improved for the better. Lovely fresh crispy batter on fish, chips hot and fresh. Really enjoyed our lunch.

Great and bargain priced fish and chips . Huge portions Batter light and chips cooked perfectly. We went in the evening when not so busy . Really enjoyed it . Only near problem was cash only , very few places asking for cash so we had to have a whip round as a group

After a lovely walk along the River Mersey, we fancied fish and chips, until we ate here! Turns out to be one of the worst fish and chips we have ever eaten in our lives. The batter was soggy and fell off the fish, which itself was cold and greasy; the chips were cold with black dots on from old fat. Certainly not freshly cooked and must have been standing for some time. It certainly made our day memorable, but at £6.50 each, save your money and eat something else somewhere else.

Good value for the money :) £5.00 for Fish and chips and got 2 fish and generous chips :) Same as sausage meal with 2 sausage, Chips were nice too :) Been to seaside in many places and paid much higher for smaller portions . Keep it up guys :)

On a visit from Shropshire. Have to say the fish was lovely and fresh And the chips tasty. Surprised at other poor reviews.

Avoid, utterly putrid chips. I didn’t return the chips because you don’t expect something so simple to go wrong.
