Three Stags in Wirral

Three of us had lunch at the Three Stage recently. The meals were all excellent and the staff helpful and amiable.

We had a very friendly welcome, our order was taken swiftly and the staff were very accommodating when we asked to change a few items on a dish. The food came very quickly and was hot, very tasty and well worth the price. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

Building exterior deteriorated. Toilets need small renovation

Just wanted to say my two sisters and I met for lunch yesterday. The food was delicious, the service spot on. Our lovely waitress Sue was very welcoming. Lovely banter, we had a good laugh. What a lovely place!!! Have been here several times. The staff are extremely considerate, kind and very dog friendly. Environment inside and in garden is very pleasant. Food is great, freah and lots of choice! Love the coffee and small desert option!

Another fabulous meal at The Three Stages. Would highly recommend. Lovely welcoming staff that do their utmost to make your visit the best. Nothing is too much trouble. Can’t wait to go back.

had lovely meal here, prices not too bad. Best to book table as can get quite busy. if you're taking your car, plenty of spsces but please please don't forget to enter your car reg at the bar as there's a parking fine charge if you forget

Call in every couple of weeks as it’s handy for a roast dinner which are normally ok but yesterday was poor, thought about raising the issue but couldn’t be bothered with the hassle, when we arrived 8-10 people waiting to be served at the bar with one person serving at that particular time, asked for our table to cleared of other people’s glasses and to wiped, table was wiped round the glasses on the table so I wiped the rest of the excess salt and pepper off the table myself, bar staff and mangers are really friendly but I think there are a few new waitresses that were below par yesterday in terms of service, dinner was poor yesterday in terms of quality and size, tipped the bar man anyway when I paid the bill because as i said previously the bar staff and mangers are friendly (may be I should of said something yesterday instead of writing this ) will be back thou as it’s local

Popped in for lunch. Not been here for many years. Great welcome and service. Food was served very quickly and piping hot. Thanks you, we will be back.

Went today 22nd June 2024 as a late Father's day treat for my husband. They brought the cutlery over while people were still paying at the bar. Food came. Husband ordered Mixed Grill with steak medium rare. The steak a part of it was raw. When after 30 minutes they came to take our plates hubby mentioned the raw steak. She just said ok will mention it and that was it. Daughter ordered 4 desserts. 3 came the crumble was burning hot. The biscoff sundae came after we had already eaten our puddings. Staff weren't interested in clearing the table. We had to move dirty dishes to another table. All in all. Will not be returning as the standard of food and the staff weren't really as good as they were.

Food came out fast and was really good

Excellent customer service and delicious food. We added this place to the list of places to go when we are craving for proper burgers, steak, or just to chill. We moved to this area a few months ago and tried a few pubs, but so far this one is the top of our list!

The food is delicious, there is a good selection of meals to suit everyone. Customer service 10 out of 10 you are made to feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Never managed to order food. Was waiting to order a drink and food. Waited over 10 minutes hoping to get served. 2 people ahead of me. 1 person on the bar. 1st time I've been there. Will never go back. Disgusted.

decent food :) i really recommend the fish and skin on fries. the brownie was a bit too thick for my liking making it way too sickly, but was overall a good meal!

A three course meal for £16.50 I thought they would cut corners but the food was great quality. Great Nachos starter, tasty Lasagne and really chocoletey brownie. Good service as well. We will definitely return

Never saw the small sneaky placed sign on the way in on the right coming from Spital, went to meet friends after work for a glass of coke and a chat, came away with a £100 parking notice from a privately owned scam car park. Perhaps I genuinely missed the small sneaky sign or was it I wrongly thought the 3 stags was a pub, were like most pubs you can go and park your car and not worry about being scammed - not a car park. I would NEVER come back here and I will make sure everyone I know NEVER visits this sham. The pub has to be in on it because there is nothing in the pub telling you about the sneaky slime scam charge. If I had had known it was a car park and not a pub I would of just driven off because no pub I have ever been too in Wirral charges it's customers £2 to park. Please be warned before you think about coming here.

Not been here for a while but called in last week for lunch. Had a very enjoyable chicken, bacon and avocado wrap and pint of Guinness. Staff were really friendly.

Nice food and excellent bar and waiting on staff. The inside is perfectly ok but the outside is now a sad DISGRACE. It very badly needs repainting and smartening up. One of the pillars by the entrance is actually crumbling away. I’m not sure we’ll be back unless the exterior is completely smartened up.

We are so lucky to have the 3 stags as our local pub. On our visit tonight we were greeted with a wonderful bar and rest aurant makeover and a new look which is very smart. Food and drinks as always were very very good. Many thanks ember inns and also to Kelly sue and marie who always look after us and make for an enjoyable night out. Ten out of ten Mike and janet

Very nice local pub with lovely staff. Music (if there is any) isn't too loud so it's a good place to hang out and talk with friends. The food is also excellent for a reasonable price. We'd recommend the sticky chicken and butterfly prawns.

Great service, lovely friendly, attentive staff, perfectly cooked food. My very fussy 85 and 87 year old parents who love fine dining were so happy with their meals. Haddock and chips, and sea bass with sautéd potatoes. Hunters chicken schnitzel was fantastic too. Can't understand why there are any negative reviews.

Warning….you can only park here if you have a smartphone with the app. To my horror, I went there as usual and ended up with a £100 charge for using this space for 38 minutes whilst having my coffee. They have lost my business. So disappointing.

Very pleasant inside and excellent service from the bar and waiting on staff. A very reasonable choice of dishes at reasonable prices and nice enough decor inside the pub itself. BUT the outside now looks APPALLING. In urgent need of external redecoration. Even one of the pillars at the entrance is falling apart. I live nearby and have never seen it in such a mess cosmetically. I’m not sure we’ll be back if Ember Inns don’t smarten it up.

Amazing food, lovely staff who can't do enough for you. Excellent quiz, which is the reason we come on Wednesday evenings. Really need to stock Strongbow; Stowford is far too sweet. Otherwise, everything is brilliant.

Great choice of drinks and excellent weekly pub quiz

We started coming to the quiz on a Wednesday night. It's a fun evening with a good atmosphere and a broad selection of questions for all ages. The staff are all very welcoming and the snacks are tasty if you need to boost the brain cells!

No problem getting comfy seats. I had fish chips and mushy peas piping hot, maybe a little mean with the mushy peas, they came in a little ramakin, but other than that, it was lovely . Serve was excellent, staff welcoming as usual. Recommend.

Good local pub with ideal beer garden. Recently visited with my bro for a quick after work pint, can't knock it. Similar to others we did both forget to input car regs resulting in parking fines. However bar staff and management were friendly and quick to rectify and overturn these for us. Kelly was very helpful. Thanks and will visit again soon

A usual haunt whenever I'm up for a school reunion. Not impressed with the traditional ales this time as two were from where I live. The food was good. The staff are friendly, as one of the members, a lady named Sue, goes out of her way to make me and my friends welcome.

Party of 9 arrived on time for our booking, was told we had the table for 1hr 45min which was fine but our meals didn't arrive until 50 minutes later which was understandable on a saturday. They got a couple of our meals wrong but we didn't complain as we had already waited long enough and had 3 children with us. We ordered desserts afterwards but was being rushed off the table by staff members before some of us had finished because the other booking had arrived. Maybe should of considered the fact we had waited 50 minutes from arrival for the food. Probably won't be returning here.

Arrived without booking a table. Shown to a quiet area of the pub as we had a dog with us. Plenty of choice on the new menu. Husband had the mixed grill. Which he really enjoyed with plenty of meat and chips. I did order the wrong accompaniment sauce for his steak sauce but I didn't want to go back and ask him. So remember, how do you want your steak cooked and what sauce are you having before you go up and order. My Aunty had the scampi and chips wh8ch she enjoyed but she can never finish the chips. I had the lasagne with garlic bread. The Meat in the lasagne was very tender and it was cooked just how I like it. I pinched chips off everyone's plates to help out. Service was excellent and they all made a fuss of our dog.

Our gorgeous little local! We are so lucky to have it in our community. The staff are so lovely and always make sure we are well looked after. Been visiting for 20+ years and in my opinion it is the best it has ever been in terms of service, management, quality and staff.

Expected this place to be rammo on Good Friday but it was quite pleasant. Can't speak highly enough of the staff, who were super attentive to one of our party that has sadly got full house in allergy bingo. The staff checked with them, advised on food choices, and even came back to apologise when they forgot to mention something. You don't often get that level of care and attention in the world of pub grub, and it makes a big difference. Food itself was excellent. Recommend the apple pie crumble, and I'm not usually a dessert kinda guy. Lots of free parking here.

What a wonderful lovely experience We were in the wirral for specialist treatment and found this amazing pub As soon as we walked in you were greeted by a smile We ordered food which was wonderful Because of the amazing service and food we booked for the rest of the week If anybody is in the area please try the three stags

Booked a private function for my dad’s 70th. Marie and the staff looked after us and went that extra mile to ensure dad and all guests had a lovely time. Thank you all so much the food was delicious as well

Service was great. I had the 1/2 chicken roast dinner, expecting an actual half a chicken from the same chicken as served everywhere else was served 2 pieces which I thought was not really in line with the title. Roast potatoes were packet potatoes, I would of thought for a roast dinner making roast potatoes from a bag of potatoes would not be that much trouble. Overall I and everyone else did enjoy the dinner. But because of the above would only give a six and if people ask me I would say I've had better in a lot of places. But of course I would always recommend the three stags and ALL your pubs because of your no dog policy which is absolutely amazing so use all your pubs wherever I go and always meet friends there when we plan a meet up for drinks. Please keep your pubs DOG FREE, it's the only place I can relax without feeling like I'm sitting in a stinking dog toilet like all the other chains which have turned "dog fouling friendly". So a BIG THANKYOU to ember inns for keeping the dog free policy!!

Great place for a Sunday lunch. Really nice and attentive service, great value for money and really enjoyed the food too. Only improvement I'd suggest is make sure you serve on hot plates, makes such a difference.

Lovely food nice pub atmosphere with good lighting for my partially sighted mil service was a bit slow toilets were clean could do with more disabled parking.

We called in for the quiz last night. Good quiz, friendly service, great atmosphere. What more do you need. We didn’t try any food on this occasion. Definitely worth a visit.

Went for the pub quiz which is hosted every Wednesday and both the quiz and food were lovely. Staff were really nice and welcoming. Highly recommend the mixed grill, fish and chips, and waffles! :)

We were at the Three Stags at lunchtime 7/3/24, my husband ordered some garlic bread which took an age to appear (the others on the table already had their main course) Then for his main he ordered chargrilled chicken, when it arrived the piece of chicken was miniscule and dry so it was returned. It was replaced with a wafer thin piece of chicken, still fairly small, and it was stringy and awful my husband spoke to the manager who apparently launched into "none of my other customers have complained" NOT the way to treat a customer. I arrived back at the table at the very end of the conversation and I told the manager I would be writing a review. To serve up what they did was a disgrace and there should not have been any argument on her part. Needless to say we will NOT be eating there again.

Excellent night as usual at the quiz. We have been coming for years and the food and service is always great. The quiz night is a highlight of our week every Wednesday. Quizmaster Paul and all of the team are always very friendly and welcoming. I’d recommend it to anyone!

What a fabulous night on 2 march. Three birthdays to celebrate. Staff were absolutely amazing friendly very informative about the menu and wine. There were 16 of us at the celebration and everyone was so impressed we had never been to the three stag’s before. We will certainly be going back. The venue itself was very pleasant and so homely. Thank you to each and everyone of you especially our lovely server Nicola. 🥰

Food and service brilliant. The new lad behind the bar was friendly and efficient even whilst training. Our waitress was lovely, didn't catch her name dark hair and glasses. My mum had a lovely birthday here. Great choice of food for children too.

The food, service and staff are exceptional. The nicest mixed grill I've ever had in a pub and very reasonably priced. Stayed for the quiz and Paul, the quizmaster, introduced me to a team that were happy for me to join them as my friends had to go. Proper quiz, no phones, tablets or any other technology and lots of fun with lovely people. We'll done 3 stags.

We come here often. Great local pub. Dependable food. Staff are amazing. Recently retained top marks for cleanliness etc - not surprising given the cleaner is a local legend! Would definitely recommend. Try out quiz night on a Wednesday.

Just back from a lovely Birthday Lunch with my Husband, the pub was really busy but the staff had everything under control and we were seated and served quickly. We used the QR code at the table to place and pay for our order which saved waiting at the bar. We ordered from the set price menu which was great value and the food itself was piping hot and very tasty. We’ll definitely come again. Definitely try to book your table prior to visiting as it can get busy
