From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with a warm smile and a friendly attitude, making us feel right at home. Olivia is incredibly attentive, ensuring our drinks were topped up and our meals arrived promptly, all while maintaining an effortless charm and professionalism. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, offering great recommendations that suited our tastes perfectly. She handled every request with grace and efficiency, never missing a beat—even during the busiest hours. It’s rare to find someone who truly enhances the pub experience, but Olivia does just that. If you're lucky enough to be served by Olivia, you’re in for a fantastic experience. She’s a credit to the team and deserves all the praise!

Popped into The Bridge Inn on Friday 23rd May and had a great experience. The place had a good vibe, food was solid, and everything ran smoothly. Big shoutout to Olivia who looked after us – she was friendly, on the ball, attentive and made sure we had everything we needed without hovering. Just really good, genuine service that made the visit even better.

Honestly 1 star is 2 too many! Awful restaurant. The wait for food was an hour and a quarter and the place wasn't particularly busy. When the food came it was awful. No taste whatsoever and finally the service was atrocious. Definitely won't be coming again!

Lovely place to eat, lovely staff especially Liv who served me and my partner on the bar! She was very welcoming and made us laugh :) Reccomend to anyone wanting to come here.

Popped into The Bridge Inn expecting a decent pint and maybe a packet of crisps – left feeling like I'd just been treated like royalty (but the friendly kind, not the awkward wave-from-a-balcony kind). From the get-go, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and exactly what you'd hope for in a proper pub. But the real star of the show? Sophie. Honestly, if there were a league table for hospitality, she’d be top of it, trophy in hand, probably still smiling and checking if your chips are okay. Sophie was an absolute gem – cheerful, helpful, and effortlessly good at making people feel at home. She had that perfect mix of professionalism and personality, managing to be attentive without hovering and funny without forcing it. She even remembered our drink order, which is more than I can say for myself most days. The food? Delicious. The drinks? Cold and well-poured. The vibe? Spot on. The service? Basically Michelin-star level with less tweezers and more personality. If all pub staff were like Sophie, I’d probably never cook at home again. The Bridge Inn is a cracking place, but with Sophie on the team, it’s a proper experience. Go for the food and atmosphere – stay because Sophie’s convinced you to order dessert and honestly, she’s right!!

Advertised as having cask beers, even have a plaque outside. They had one beer. Service was terrible, staff kept saying how busy they were. Looked around, certainly not busy from my point of view. This is the nearest pub to the local theatre, take my advice walk further. Again said they were busy so food would take about an hour. When the food did come the nachos were served in an army mess tin. The main course, a BBQ plater, wast served on a large tray. Took about 10 mins before we were offered plates. Ordered a beer which tool forever to arrive. Wrong type of glass and they hadn't opened the bottle. So busy. Food was crap as well. Don't waste your money.

Popped here for lunch and wasn't disappointed, food was great and very reasonably priced. Staff were fantastic, really welcoming and attentive even though it was really busy. Shout out to Sean, Shanny and Morgan who were all superb.

Got a lovely greeting as soon as I walked in the door. (Ladies name was Nicky). Sat in the bar area rather than the restaurant part, as I was on my own. Lovely lad (found out his name was Morgan) made my drink and gave me his favourite choices from the menu when I asked what was good to eat. My choice was brought to me by a lady called Shannie, who checked on me that my order was correct and if I needed anything further. My interactions with the staff were cheerful, polite and made my quick visit lovely. I’ll definitely be going again. Totally positive experience. And, I’ll add, as I was leaving, they all said goodbye to me. That in itself was such a lovely positive thing.

We often come for a little family meal with our grandparents and my daughter. Shirl always makes our experience amazing. She is so kind and friendly and helpful. My daughter asks to come here just to see her. The food was lovely, the puddings were delicious and all staff were really helpful.

Had a lovely meal for my nans 60th i had the new jerk sizzler and reallt enjoyed it the rest of my family had burgers and steaks and they also said it was really nice, the service was also great we were served by a lovely lady called sophie along side another lady called cherline, the chef who cooked our food was a lady called max and bar man was alex they all provided us excellent service and made our whole experience enjoyable . We will back again

When I came to this restaurant I was greeted by great staff who made me feel welcome. They interacted with me and had a great laugh with shanny. The food here was lovely.

Lovely pub, loads of room, even when it's packed, just sit outside, plenty of tables. Poor choice of drinks for my taste but still plenty on offer. Food here is standard pub grub, nice enough. Plenty of space in the car park and surrounding streets.

Fantastic burger and chips. BBQ Cheesy Stack. 1 of the 10 best burgers I have ever had in my life. We will definitely be back. Thanks to staff, Sophie Shanny and Nicky for great service.

Went for a meal with my husband today at 13:00, the pub was fairly empty. Ordered our food though the app, waited 20 minutes to over hear that the food hadn't been started! After 50 minutes of waiting we received our food. We had the mixed grill and steak flatbread. The flatbread was kind of stale and the mix grill was missing onion rings; which were brought out after being mentioned. Over all was disappointed with the service as staff disappeared from the bar too.

I haven't been here for 30 years. Went the other week and was shocked to see how dilapidated the place was. Peeling, paint dirty floors, leaking roof and generally grubby looking. On the positive side the staff were very pleasant but looked overworked and disorganised even though the place wasn't really busy, with the bar staff having to run around and deliver food as well as try and serve at the bar. All resulting in long waits for service etc. The biggest disappointment was the quality of the food though. The burgers were like the microwave Rustlers burgers you get in the supermarket. The bun on one of them was beyond stale it just crumbled when biten or cut with a knife. In fairness, the food on offer is a poor quality offering but reasonably priced. Green King appears to be part of the Hungry Horse group of pubs so if you are looking for gastro pub quality, you are going to be very disappointed. On the other hand, if you like reasonably priced, deep fried, beige coloured food, the menu will tick all of your boxes. The best thing that could happen to this building and Port Sunlight would be for Green King to sell the pub to a more upmarket brewery who can invest in basic building maintainance, spruce the place up and get a better quality menu. The potential for the place is huge it's just a shame that it has marketed itself at the cheap and cherful(ish) end of the pub market.

Couldn't fault the team enough. Had abit of bad luck was more than happy to help out and pour me a pint to forget about it. Repaid the favour with mcdonalds breakfast

Booked for an afternoon meal to celebrate a family birthday, Shanny and Emma looked after us and we enjoyed our food and drinks.

Been here for breakfast today and credit where its due. The staff where wonderful, nothing was too much. My family can be fussy and the ladies here handled it with ease. All day Breakfast was lovely, nice strong cuppa too. Such a nice building, decor quite monden and homely. Definitely coming back again.

Just had a really nice lunch here with my husband after a walk around historic Port Sunlight Village. It wasn’t particularly busy but there was a little wait for the food - not a bad thing maybe as you feel it’s being cooked and not just microwaved! I had the beef lasagne which was deep and very tasty, it came with garlic ciabatta and a small salad. Hubby had the sizzling gammon which arrived with a fried egg, on a skillet on top of fried onions with a side of chips, peas and tomatoes. He said it was the best gammon steak he had had in ages. Both meals were in the “2 for £13.49” deal, so with his pint of IPA and my glass of wine the bill was just over £20. Very good value! There were some other great deals available, like 2 small courses for £6.49 if you have a little appetite - tempting but I really wanted the lasagne and it isn’t included in that deal. Shani (spelling?) and Morgan were our friendly and efficient servers. Would definitely eat here again when we’re in the area!

Went for a pub meal. Food was very nice. Staff very friendly and attentive. Couldn't fault it

Walked into the bar and no one behind it for at least 5mins! Initial service (when he eventually apperared!) was good even though he was busy. Went to get a second drink at the bar and there were 2 members of staff huddled over the till without any acknowledgement that I was actually waiting! 10 minutes later I got my drink!! Certain staff need customer relations training!! You will lose any valuable customers on the current set up.

Just had a lovely meal at The Bridge Inn taking advantage of the final BOGOFF offer that’s been on all month. We received a warm friendly welcome as usual from Shanny. She always go’s out of her way to make sure that you have everything you need , keen that you enjoy your meal. There is always a good happy atmosphere here at The Bridge . In both the bar and restaurant sides , the service is always the same. The team giving a good service.

Popped in out of the rain and had a lovely pot of tea and some chocolate fudge cake. The tea was lovely and hot and that fudge cake was incredibly decadent, with just enough ice cream to counter point the stickiness. Staff were welcoming and very friendly. It's ok, friendly staff. Needs a bit of tlc and given it's location I was surprised it wasn't a bit neater and tidier (cigarette ends in ashtrays outside etc that had obviously been there for a while). Only had a cup of tea.

Needed a room mid week , arrived to be told nothing was available, despite their own website and booking.com showing rooms. Had met my friend so we decided to have a drink before I went to find a room elsewhere. Said we wanted to order separately, drinks were charged together. Paid on card , barman didn't even say thank you or its gone through.... I looked up and he was gone. Used to love this place, such a shame.

Gorgeous lunch, we both had the 8oz rump steak which was on the buy one get one free offer, absolutely spot on. I had mine with salad and peppercorn sauce really delicious, my partner had his with chips and bbq sauce which he said was equally as nice. Service was spot on, our server I've forgotten her name but she was lovely. Definitely recommend 100% and we'll definitely be going back. Couldn't fault it, we both had coffees which were lovely too in fact my partner enjoyed his cappuccino so much he had 2 x

Went for lunch on Saturday afternoon. Morgan, who took our order, helpfully pointed out the BOGOF January offer. Fairly quick service and generous portions. Olde worlde surroundings, an interesting building. Should make a special mention for Morgan who was friendly, efficient and helpful in serving us.

Food and service great . This was our 3rd stay and this was certainly the best stay staff wise . They were so lovely hard working and happy in their jobs .Kerry who checked us in was enthusiastic and so helpful. The hotel was warm and rooms very clean and comfortable. Unfortunately and this is no reflection on the staff the hotel needs a lot of updating . The carpets are the worst aspect and are a disaster waiting to happen especially on the stairs. Worn areas have been taped with duct tape which was there a year ago . Chipped paint on doors and latches on windows broken . I'm shocked that Greene King let these problems continue especially the stair problem . The hotel is in a great location and the function room and restaurant are extremely busy . Shame the accommodation is so neglected.

Great room for the price. Quick walk from the metro station. Comfortable beds and sturdy towels. Breakfast was substantial, tasty, and a great price. Excellent service from Shanny and Nicola. Can’t wait to come back!

Stayed here for 2 nights. Lovely cozy room very clean & comfortable.An old building but very well maintained. Excellent breakfast. Great location train station 2 mins up the road to take you into the centre of Liverpool in 20 mins. Would recommend & we would stay again. Great staff team. Special mention to Mark for making us feel very welcome & looking after us. 👍

Sunday lunch was good value at £8.95, small serving of meat but that's absolutely fair enough at that price. Good quantity of fresh vegetables. The building is run down and needs a lot of upgrading. We had booked but no table had been set aside for us and we were told it would be an hour wait for the food.

Cheap, drinks are expensive, rooms are cold, hollow & loud. Went to order food (it’s a Greene King) at the bar and was told I’d have to move to the restaurant area (it’s a Greene King) so ordered Chinese and ate it in my freezing cold room instead. If you need a bed while working away it’ll do and it’s cheap.

We came here for my birthday breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was called Shanny and she was great, really helpful and friendly and made a fuss of my toddler who wanted to order for herself. There was 7 of us total and all the food came out together and was hot and tasty. Only thing I will say is we rang up the night before to ask about breakfast and we were told it stops at 10:30 but all the menus say served until 12 so I'm unsure what it actually is but we would definitely come back again as it was great. Been there today for lunch not been before. Steak pie for hubby with chips peas and spot on gravy. I had lasagna garlic bread and a little salad food was super hot and very tasty. Real disappointing meal at the Bridge Inn. So it was a very quiet Saturday afternoon when my fiancé and I arrived. We sat in what we now know is the pub side. We ordered our meals and drinks on the app. The drinks took 20mins and only when my fiancé went up to the bar did the bar server realise we had ordered. After another 5 mins a different server came out to ask if we had ordered food to which we were told we were in the wrong section of the pub and needed to go to the restaurant side. Only on a Saturday pm do they not serve food on the pub side apparently, this is sign posted nowhere. The server, in a rude tone, said that's why there were no menus on the tables. However, the condiments, napkins, cutlery and little menus were so it wasn't obvious food wasn't being served. After sitting in the restaurant side we heard a table being told that it would be 40 mins for food because of some issue with the new chef. Bare in mind it's almost completely empty, there are maybe 5 tables with people on them. When our food did arrive my gammon steak, egg and chips was fine but my fiancé's steak & ale pie with mash, peas and gravy was disgusting. The peas were clearly tinned, the gravy was bisto, the mash was those frozen pellets you microwave and the pie was soggy and had definitely been microwaved as well. It's a shame because it's quite nice in the bar side of the pub but we won't be going there to eat again.

Well what can I say, the best meal I’ve ever had at this wonderful establishment, so much so that we asked the bar staff for the name of the chef in the kitchen so that we could give her a special mention, Deena certainly knows how to handle the heat in the kitchen that’s for sure!, the bar staff where extremely friendly and catered to our every need, 5 stars!!!!

Went for a 16th birthday dinner, service was OK food OK but restaurant area wasn't good had to walk right through bar area through to dinning area because they've closed the entrance to we're you used to go in ,and bar is closed in dinning area ,not to impressed ,couldn't fault the 3 staff members that had to deal either this aswell .

Came for a roast at 7.30pm. Had to get a refund because the chef closed the kitchen early to watch the football game👍🏼

The staff are great and really looked after me and my partner, as well as our 10 month old baby. The service was snappy, even though we turned up just before open time, they were welcoming. They even made my partner a drink that wasn't on the menu! The food wasn't great. I got a sausage sandwich that had 1 sausage cut length ways to fill the bread. The bread wasn't fresh tasting either and was dry. In short, front of house brilliant! People who decided the menu (not the chefs, they're just doing their job), pretty poor

A family of 7 with a child requiring a high chair. Seated quickly, 4 of us arrived earlier than the others and we were offered drinks while we waited for the rest of our party. Plenty of choice on the menu and very reasonable! Mark and Jack who served us were polite and friendly throughout, nothing was too much trouble. Great banter when my son ( who doesn't really like spicy food) decided he wanted to try the Carolina reaper wings! 🤦‍♀️ food was cooked fresh and hot when it arrived, all cleaned our plates (apart from the unfinished portion of reaper wings due to my son being far too optimistic! 🤣) would definitely return!

We visited this pub for lunch today through recommendations from friends, firstly, all the 5 meals came out separately with parts of meals missing/on others plates, then 1 of the meals was quite a bit later coming out a roast dinner, when the meal came it was the wrong meal which sides/extra’s were ordered which we did not receive….we had been given another tables meal and when we asked about this there was no apology…. the lady on the other table was asked if she would like the turkey meal and not the beef meal she had ordered! There didn’t seem to be anyone in charge…..no customer service in this place whatsoever….steer clear as the food is awful…we won’t be returning, sorry!
