Great pub. Stayed over in our motorhome in the car park. Food was lovely, service excellent and staff very friendly. Helen, Georgia & James thank you for making us so welcome! Nice beer garden and large car park, don't forget to enter your reg plate though! Good location for the Wirral country park for walking or cycling also close to the beach. We will definitely be returning.. 😊

Sunday at The Cottage Loaf was a great experience, everything went smoothly. The food was piping hot to the last mouthful. I was spoken to by four members of staff, including the manager, and each was polite, helpful and welcoming. The place was well-used, by Covid standards, but we had no problem getting a table. Sunday lunch again, 22-9-2024. Six family members met here and once again the staff were outstanding from the welcome at the door to our leaving. Helen, Ashley and James were friendly, talkative and extremely helpful throughout. We all agreed that the food was entirely excellent and, speaking personally, the lamb shank was the best roast dinner I have had. Thank you.

My husband and I had been here a couple of times after our walk in west kirby. We had sat outside and had a glass of wine and some paté. Seems a nice place so my friend and I went last night for an evening meal. We were told on arrival of a few things that were not on the menu due to a menu change the following day...We both ordered Asian chicken ( I think it was called ). The waiter came back and said the last portion had gone out, I then ordered the seabass and was told this wasn't available . My friend ordered lamb shank, there was no chips or mash, only fries available. I settled on sirloin steak, medium rare...The steak came and was an awful cut, it was very sinewy all the way through. The waiter was very attentive and asked would I like it changed, He said would I like him to bring the steak through on another plate, I said no I'd like you to take my plate please which he did..He came back and said it would be 5 minutes... The meal arrived and the steak looked a bit burnt, I cut into it and it was as dry as a bone. I cut through the middle and it was definitely not medium rare as I'd ordered. Very disappointed 😞. The waiter returned with the sauce and I told him I couldn't eat it, he offered me another steak but by this time my friend had finished her meal so I refused. He apologised and said he would take the meal off the bill...We then had a dessert, a crumble it was with custard, this was okay, it was a bit stodgy and not crumbly...The waiter asked how our dessert was and I said okay, he said okay ? that's what we aim for...He made light of our evening and was quite funny to be honest... There was a quiz on and a gentleman said he'd returned his steak twice as well... Overall food not so good, service was good and atmosphere okay.. I would probably still return for my glass of wine and paté...

Love this place, doesn't matter if it's a summer beer garden day a meal out or just a quick pint after our dog walks they are always welcoming to us and the dogs. Lovely staff Helen was our server today ☺️ and always a pleasure to visit.

It was a reasonably busy Friday afternoon. Waited a while for all our food to arrive and ro be honest it was all average. The food all seemed a bit dry like it had been under a headlamp too long. It was edible but I won't be going back.

Staying in Bebington for a week visiting my grandad found this place was dog friendly...great food, excellent service and a cute section for dogs they supply "doggy beer " actually Water and , bowls blankets etc helpful and friendly staff highly recommend will be visiting again next time I'm in the area

Food is of a very poor standard and overpriced for microwave meals. Chips were more like fat drenched crisps and when we poured the tea a dead fly was floating in it ! No apology from staff and no discount was offered or given. The place was empty ( we went at 12 noon ) so no excuse for lack of service or for such poor food. This was 10 months ago and I know for a fact that most food is from a microwave and according to several other reviews ( both more recent and previous to mine ) that there are major problems with both the food and the service ! No apology, no refund, no desire to actually fix your problems. Very sad.

Lunchtime meal. Food tasted nice enough, but just 'plonked' on the plate as I've seen children's meals presented.

Went for lunch with my partner, the service was amazing, all the staff made sure that we had everything we needed. The food was served quickly and arrived hot. The bar staff made the drinks very promptly and the mixers were fruity and fun.

My boyfriend and I came in for some drinks and it was lovely and chilled, we ended up having food because we saw it coming out and looked and smelt amazing and we weren't disappointed! Staff were very attentive and friendly and we spent the whole evening, we had a lovely time! Thank you everyone

Didn’t have food just had a drink. But just a terrible place to be. Reg input for car park is a pain. Took 10 mins to get a drink. We’re told we can sit wherever when we came in. Sat down for the drink, then got moved by the manager “in case someone wants to sit here for food”. We’re having one quick drink and it’s dead! We got moved to a tiny 2 seater table, there was 2 of us and also our 4 month old in a travel car seat (so 3 of us) so we were squashed. Bugs on the table, on the menu and flying round. Honestly just a pointless exercise to go here for a few drinks just go elsewhere. Total faff. Only wanted a relaxing drink with my wife (and baby!) but just a naff experience here. Would not bother going back.

Beautiful pub, it has been re-decorated and looks so cosy and welcoming. Food is amazing, so tasty and the presentation is great, with very generous portion sizes. Would recommend this beautiful pub to anyone that fancies a lovely meal in a lovely environment.

Absolutely vile, cheese was off. Chicken was burnt and very dry. Kids pasta was very hard and chicken was dry also. Would never eat from here again. Expected much better quality for £50

We had a fabulous visit to the cottage loaf over the weekend. The service was great, the staff were all super friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing. We were overall very impressed with our experience and will definitely be visiting again soon!

My family and I walked along the beach in thurstaston and decided to see what the Cottage Loaf hype was about. The food was amazing the service was even better. It’s safe to say this establishment exceeded my expectations. Thanks to the team! We will certainly be seeing you soon.

Very nice pub, staff very friendly, polite and attentive. Sunday lunch was lovely too, 3 types of meat roast. Reasonably priced. Make sure you log your reg no if car if parking at reception to avoid penalty charges. Look forward to returning again soon.

We have just had the most wonderful lunch here! We were exceptionally well looked after...in fact, one member of staff noticed it was my birthday and bought me some balloons. The food was fab and the service was even better. Huge thank you to Linda, Steve and Holly. We will be back!

Haven’t been to the cottage loaf for years but decided to pop back tonight. Great service from the staff, very friendly and professional Above green king standard, a bit pricy but can justify it. Clean menus, tables, etc Food was nice, desserts lovely etc. Really comfy and cozy atmosphere, I could have easily fell asleep after my food 😅 Very pleased & will be returning Just a note you do need To enter your parking reg when you’re inside, plenty of signs to remind you :)

Lovely pub by a busy road. Didn't eat there but the pints were decent and about average price for the area.

Been there twice now for different occasions, accommodated 17 of us notva problem, pre ordered our food a few days before. All food came at the same time and plenty of it to. Nothing isn't a problem for the staff, who are all friendly and notjingbtoo much for them Will be returning.

Nice pub, friendly staff and majority of the food was fine(fried chicken, scampi and gammon). Unfortunately the South East Asian curry came out as a pile of rice, surrounded by a thick gloopy sauce and bone dry chicken thrown on top (not even attempted to coat it or stir it in). In response to owners reply - I took it back in when it was brought to the table and was refunded without question. The attendant behind the bar said he didn't disagree with my comments.

Lovely staff, but when we arrived we found out there was a limited menu and no desserts as one of the fryers had broke, the backs of the chairs were wet and table was sticky.

Limited menu because one of the fryers was broken. The reason for the low score is that mushrooms were cold on my meal. I did inform them.

Visited for a late lunch with grandkids. Staff so welcoming and attentive, especially Helen. Food excellent also.

We had lunch there today, lovely little place and the food was delicious. I had a Roast Turkey dinner which was absolutely gorgeous with beautifully cooked fresh vegetables, tender meat and lovely crispy roast potatoes. My partner had the Steak and Ale pie which he said was also delicious with fresh vegetables and creamy mash and both very reasonably priced. The staff were all so friendly and attentive, so we will definitely return and would highly recommend.

We were extremely happy with our visit to the Cottage Loaf. The staff were friendly and helpful. We cannot fault the menu or the food itself. we were very happy with our food choices and the food itself tasted as good as it looked. Our whole visit was way above average !!! We will definitely return for another lovely visit!!!!! Thank you to the staff and the kitchen staff for a really lovely afternoon.

I stopped coming to the Cottage Loaf sometime ago but when a friend suggested I gave it a try was only too pleased to have a go. It is under new Management and the new owner is really friendly as were all the staff. The menu was really different to other pubs it was hard to pick but my choice of grilled sea bass prawns scallops and risotto was really good so much so I could only eat a mini pudding. Not like me at all. Looking forward to a return visit very soon.

First time customer, won’t be returning. Food was disappointing and we had to sit listening to staff banter when out for a quiet family meal. One member of staff was on her phone with feet up on a stool the whole time we were there which didn’t give a great impression. My children overheard a lot of the staff talk and asked why they were swearing. I’m all for staff breaks but please be more discrete in front of customers

Not been to the Cottage Loaf for years so looking for somewhere different we thought we would give it a try. First impression is of a lovely pub/restaurant, really nicely decorated and well maintained. Bar staff really first class, friendly and welcoming. Ordered drinks and food and sat down to enjoy a nice meal. Couldn't fault food, I went for complete comfort food, steak and ale pie with chips and gravy my wife went for vegetarian breakfast. Well presented and tasty food. Will definately go again.

I came in for dinner with my wife on Friday for the first time. The service was spot on and the food was extremely good value for money. I can’t believe we had never been here before, we’ll be back. Thanks to the team, look forward to seeing you soon.

Absolutely amazing service once again ... We attended for lunch for my grandmothers 95th birthday meal and was not disappointed one bit. We arrived and the staff had put banners and balloons on my grandma's table already. Fantastic touch she was so so happy with the food and service this is definitely our new local place for lunch and family occasions. Keep up the Great work guys n gals 👍

Lovely pub restaurant, very busy so really need to book a table in advance. Plenty of choice on the menu. Food was very tasty and plentiful although a little on the expensive side. Staff friendly and attentive. Would go there again as a special treat.

Absolutely appalled with the service I have received from the manager of this pub. Myself and my family came on Tuesday 25th June. We ordered 2 burgers and we were both very disappointed with not only the portion size but the quality, it wasn’t good at all for the price you pay for them. We mentioned it to 2 members of staff who didn’t seem interested so I emailed Greene King. I have now 3 days later just received a very aggressive phone call from the manager whilst I’m in work being completely surly and rude from the minute I answered the phone trying to make me feel like it was my fault and making every excuse under the sun and demanding to know if had ever left a 5 star review, to which I said ‘no’ to which she replied ‘well then’. I was absolutely gobsmacked. She literally questioned everything I said as if I was lying or being over dramatic when at the end of the day I’m a unsatisfied customer and not once did I get any kind of apology through that whole phone call! I work in retail myself and can’t believe staff members can get away with talking to people like that let alone mamagement! I asked to take her name and she refused in a very abrupt manner then hung up on me! Absolutely disgusting!

Steak and cheese ciabatta - steak totally inedible, overcooked, gristly and underseasoned. Bread chewy and funny cheese on top. Terrible!

After having food and drink here a few weeks ago which was lovely for the price we paid and I rang the manager today with a query over a parking fine I had received, Linda the manager cleared this up with no hesitation and really is an asset to the company Thanks again

Nestled in a lovely part of the Wirral, the Cottage Loaf is a charming restaurant with a classic country atmosphere. The menu gave a nice selection and both our meals were nice. Plenty of outdoor seating too. Remember to validate your parking if driving there.
