Visited here for lunch, midweek. Usually full at lunchtime. We were lucky but the helpful staff suggested pre booking in future. Not surprised, it filled up quickly. Shown to a table upstairs overlooking the river Mersey. The lunch menu consisted of various dishes at £7.50 each, a nice surprise. Regular menu was available too. Apart from the service and quality, explains why it appears popular. Recommended.

We visit for drinks now and then and tried the Sunday roast recently. Unfortunately we were all disappointed, the mashed potato and gravy was watery, hardly any meat and it was all quite bland. Other meals look really nice and the staff are all lovely. We'll return for drinks but not for food.

I normally really enjoy this pub on our cycle days. The views are to die for and beer, service are normally great.. Can't rate on food as never eaten there.. But unfortunately I've had my first bad experience on Sunday. I've had the WORST coffee (flat white)of my life.. Like honestly it was so bad I couldn't even drink it.. It looked like dish water with soap on top.. Just look after your machine better or get a better coffee please guys this is embarrassing your business for no reason and it can be fixed easily.

Not been to The Ferry for thirty plus years but the reviews are very good so booked in for a family celebration. We waited more than an hour for the food which was very average. The staff were doing their best but service was simply too slow and then they ran out of various desserts. Ice cream sundae was just ice cream in a bowl! But the view was great and it was good to be with the family.

A very high-quality PUB in a very beautiful location on the riverbank. The food was tasty, the service friendly and fast. Inside, good facilities on three floors, as well as a large outdoor terrace where you can enjoy the sun. The scenery is amazing, the tall buildings of Liverpool on the other side of the river and pleasant walking opportunities on your own beach, a well-maintained walking and cycling path following the shoreline. There is always boat traffic on the river, which is nice to watch. At low tide, a little sandy beach is visible. And thank you again. Perfect god fish.

Love the ferry! Been many times. The location is amazing, who can fault the views from there especially on a nice day. Place looks great since the refurbishment with the new doors making downstairs & beer garden all open planned. The staff are absolutely second to non, make everyone feel so welcome, always service with a smile! Food has been lovely every time! Just a shame on our last visit the drunk boss was loudly speaking/belittling the staff from the table across from the bar, customers could sense the shift in atmosphere as staff all seemed on edge but still gave 10/10 service to the customer. Treat you staff better please they are what the customers return for!!

Came here for late lunch with the family. It was pre booked but not needed as the place was pretty quiet. The only eating area is up a flight of stairs which is not great for elderly relatives! Also we seemed to get forgotten about and several times had to go downstairs to ask for things. There were lots of things on the menu that they didnt have available which was disappointing. The server also kept forgetting to bring up some of the plates and drinks - for us, and the nearby table too. They had a bit of an attitude and practically threw stuff on the table, clearly just didn't want to be there. It was super hot sitting by the big windows which admittedly had a lovely view, but we were all sticking to the fake leather seats! No one checked on us if we needed more drinks or if the food was ok. We had to go down and ask about deserts - we all wanted something cold - and we were told someone would be up soon to take an order as they were busy (the place was practically empty) It took a while but eventually our order of sundaes was taken, however all we got were bowls with 3 scoops of plain icecream and some strawberry sauce for £5 each?, Where was the wafer? The fruit? Rip off. A couple of our party went to use the toilets, the mens had no cubicle only urinals and the womens only seemed to be a disabled loo available, very odd. Might be an ok place for a drink and views but not one for enjoying a nice meal.

The meals were substantial, but when it came to the ice cream, there was no dairy free option for my eldest grandson. But the staff were excellent, and gave him some of their own fruit salad which was above and beyond, ten out of ten for empathy with a dairy free child. They also do a gluten free fish option which is worth every penny and no extra cost for the gf option, which most other pubs charge extra for. Well done. 👍

From the minute we stepped in, all the staff where friendly, polite, helpful and hard working. Very attentive. I had the soup of the day for starters which was vegetable which came with a hot bread roll. It was delicious. I had beef for my mains which was presented very attractively on a plate, and a side plate of cauliflower and broccoli . If I was to be pickie, the roast potatoes where not the best. Reheated but nothing to complain about. We had hot chocolate fudge cake for desert with cream . Extremely yummy. I would highly recommend The Ferry for a meal. Top marks. Our bill came to £45. What a lovely friendly pub. I hadn’t heard of this place before but I read a couple of reviews on the eating out Merseyside recommendations and thought we’d give it a try. It was for my daughter’s 13th birthday and it was booked for 12. From making the booking over the phone to leaving out the front door the experience has been just amazing. All the staff work so hard and always a smile, friendly and helpful. As it was a large booking pre orders were taken to ensure they had the items available from the menu to avoid any disappointment. When the food came there was definitely no disappointment and there was just an issue with the hunters chicken being a little tough but this was rectified straight away and not made an issue of (thank you) and a different meal of choice was quickly provided. My daughter had the lasagna and she said it was even better than mine! And my dad has not stopped talking about the fish and chips … “the batter was lovely and it was packed with lots of lovely fish, I’ll definitely be back here” As it was my daughter’s birthday I provided a cake which they kindly stored in the fridge and provided plates and brought it out when we where ready so I can’t comment on the desserts. All in all we had the best night, amazing views, food and staff just made the night. Thank you again for helping to make a daughter’s birthday an unforgettable one. We look forward to returning again soon. (PS I never write reviews but I felt the need to write this one 😁)

The seating is intimate and depending on where you sat you had lovely views over the mersey. The food was excellent and very good value for money. It gets very busy so that is a good indicator that the pub deserves its credit. We would like to give a special mention to Nicky. My husband left his wallet and glasses on the table and she found them when she cleared the table were we sat. She came looking for us but couldn't see us so they were behind the bar when we eventually returned. Thankyou. We will return when we are in the are again

We arrived on time for our table at 15.30 to be told we couldn’t place an order for 30 minutes as the kitchen was extremely busy. After 30 minutes the server came back to take our orders, we had brought family visitors with us from out of the area who needed to return back to Liverpool train station to catch a train at 18.15. After enquiring twice how much longer the food would take, we were told not long, then after 1 hour 15 minutes from placing our order the food arrived with a meal missing . This had clearly been missed off by the server. When the meals eventually arrived it was very embarrassing for us as we had finished eating ours and felt very awkward as we had chosen to eat here! Our family members left immediately after the one course without dessert, It was lucky they left when they did, as we waited a further 40 minutes for ours. We definitely wouldn’t recommend and won’t be visiting again. It wasn’t just us this happened to there was many people complaining about the service and wait times.

Soon after the waitress came and asked us to confirm what we ordered? It was obvious the meal hadn't been ordered. 10 minutes later I went and checked and asked if she had only put the order in 10 minutes ago she stated she hadn't and that there was other people before us. I couldn't see anyone in the lower half that looked as if they had just started a meal. What we did observe was people outside coming after us and having their meal and going. It wasn't busy otherwise we could understand. The manager apologised and advised she wouldn't charge for the meal we didn't have, the irony. They did however charge for my drink Make sure the waitress put through your order.

This really was unacceptable, I know the group was large because we didn’t know how many were turning up, the attitude and manner with which we were told was extremely rude. We were talking about moving to the pilot boat and we’re on the phone to them when someone came to take the orders. When the meals were eaten it was nearing 2.30 bearing in mind we had been there since 12.00, we ordered coffees which was disgustingly bitter, when we went for more milk was asked where is your bottle, in a not so nice manner, so said use that jug there, which they did. Someone came to collect cups as there wasn’t enough for our coffees, so bad, we were then asked if we could vacate some of the tables as there was a booking at 3. Apert from the first person who showed us to the seating area the remaining staff were extremely rude,I used to have a friend that worked at the Eggy Ferry, no wonder she left, , There was not enough staff on, there was also a funeral party downstairs which had had to be catered for, organised chaos, all need a lesson in customer relations. So very abrupt. Also the toilet floors were wringing wet, no wet floor signs, they also smelled badly.

We were on our way to New Brighton from Seacombe and I dropped in for lunch with my friends. This pub's main selling point is the stunning view of the Liverpool waterfront through the windows and watching the ships go by. They had a reasonable range of beers to suit most tastes. We ordered our food but had an hour's wait for the meals to turn up. I tried the Sticky Sesame Chicken and it was worth the wait as all the meals were very good. The staff very pleasant and helpful. Meals were good value for money.
