I've eaten here many times before and enjoyed it, but today's Sunday roast experience was disappointing. The location is wonderful, and the staff, as always, were lovely, but the food wasn't good. Half the roast spuds were under-cooked and inedible, the 'chicken supreme' was a dried-up cheap bit of chicken, and my coeliac friend was given ordinary bread with her starter, and then served ordinary sausages on her otherwise gluten free meal, this despite her having provided the chef with a gluten free Yorkshire pud to bake so he can't say he didn't know. It's a good job she checked before she ate it or she would have been very ill. We weren't offered a second drink, desserts, or tea and coffee. There were several other minor issues but they all added up to spoiling the occasion. Hopefully, it was a one off and I will visit again but I certainly won't risk going for Sunday lunch again.

The burger was black and really over cooked, the fish had soggy batter and the Muchy peas came out really hard. when sent back the same food came back out, but if your just going for a pint the bar staff are friendly and the views good

After many lovely meals here with my daughter and son in law, I booked a table (9) for 3 at 5pm for my son and partner (whom had never been before). At 2pm the Ferry telephoned me to ask if we could make our booking for 4pm due to volume of people. We arrived early ( 3.45) and were told that they did not have my reservation, even though they had telephoned me earlier. We were shown to our table, and were given the menu, the young gent, whom is all ways polite, took our orders and left. After approx 45 mins our order arrived which we ate. Even though we had been left the desert menu no one came to ask what we were ordering. I eventually went down to the bar to place the order which eventually arrived. Please note that we were the ONLY people upstairs !! There was a birthday party downstairs, but that should not effect other customers. I am deeply dissapointed in the way we were treated.

We have been here twice before and enjoyed our lunch. On this occasion it was abysmal. We were told they are dog friendly which for us creates hygiene issues especially when all the waitresses were stroking the dogs and then serving food straight away without appearing to wash their hands. What a pity it wasn’t people friendly. As far as I’m aware dogs don’t pay the bill . The food took an eternity to arrive and when it did, the order was incorrect and had to be sent back and was in any case barely edible. Moreover, the side portion of chips arrived in a badly chipped small container. It also took an eternity to arrive and they didn’t appear to be that busy. We had tried to change our table away from the pet menagerie but despite the fact that there did appear to be tables available and they weren’t taken while we were there, we were denied that opportunity. Anyone wishing to visit the toilets had to step over three large dogs barring the passageway. How on earth this place gets a five star hygiene rating is beyond us. Avoid at all costs unless you want to dine in a dog’s home. Sent from my iPhone

The pub epitomises average. No matter who runs it or how hard the staff works, the location and subsequent clientele bring negativity from the get-go. Many will have enjoyed a reasonable meal in reasonable peace. There are also some tremendous views from the bar and dining areas. Skip past the average food and service. All too often, there will be noisy children, an irregular influx of boisterous diners, and occasionally the air of a tumultuous argument pending. Parking is free and plentiful, but obviously differs during peak times. Good access to the Prom and either the Spaceport or activities in New Brighton. Bus routes within walking distance.

We had a lovely lunch here whilst we were in the area and the food was lovely. This place never disappoints. On the day there were only 2 staff running the bar, taking orders and bringing the food to tables, but they still did it with a smile and were very helpful. Well done ladies, some customers were complaining about waiting for food but we feel these ladies coped admirably under the pressure. We will certainly be back thank you for a lovely lunch.

Came here on a Sunday with my fiancé. I have to say it has been everything you want from a good pub meal. We had a roast with lamb which was filling and satisfying - we'd started with the pâté, perfect to begin with as it was fresh and meaty without filling us up. The service has been excellent - all the staff have been attentive, polite, and it only added to the fun atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and we loved watching ships pass across the mersey on what was a wintery and foggy day.

I have often passed The Ferry whilst walking along the promenade from New Brighton to Seacombe, and always liked the look of it! I was not disappointed when I recently visited for lunch with my wife and a Chinese friend. We were given a window table on the first floor, and the view across the Mersey on what was a very cold but sunny winter's day, was amazing. Inside, good facilities on three floors, as well as a large outdoor terrace where you can enjoy the sun. The scenery is amazing, the tall buildings of Liverpool on the other side of the river and pleasant walking opportunities on your own beach, a well-maintained walking and cycling path following the shoreline. There is always boat traffic on the river, which is nice to watch. At low tide, a little sandy beach is visible. And thank you again. Perfect god fish.

Came here for late lunch with the family. It was pre booked but not needed as the place was pretty quiet. The only eating area is up a flight of stairs which is not great for elderly relatives! Also we seemed to get forgotten about and several times had to go downstairs to ask for things. There were lots of things on the menu that they didnt have available which was disappointing. The server also kept forgetting to bring up some of the plates and drinks - for us, and the nearby table too. They had a bit of an attitude and practically threw stuff on the table, clearly just didn't want to be there. It was super hot sitting by the big windows which admittedly had a lovely view, but we were all sticking to the fake leather seats! No one checked on us if we needed more drinks or if the food was ok. We had to go down and ask about deserts - we all wanted something cold - and we were told someone would be up soon to take an order as they were busy (the place was practically empty) It took a while but eventually our order of sundaes was taken, however all we got were bowls with 3 scoops of plain icecream and some strawberry sauce for £5 each?, Where was the wafer? The fruit? Rip off. A couple of our party went to use the toilets, the mens had no cubicle only urinals and the womens only seemed to be a disabled loo available, very odd. Might be an ok place for a drink and views but not one for enjoying a nice meal.

Off the cuff visit with family after visiting port sunlight food festival. Having never been here before wasn't sure what to expect. Warm welcome from the lady on the bar extremely friendly as were the customers. Boys loved the pool table and darts...TV screens for those wanting sport etc. Good selection of snacks available. The pizzas smelt delicious 😋 various good offers on drinks aswell. Will definitely be back for a future visit 👍
