The best restaurants serving British food in Beacon and Bents South Tyneside North East

The counters and fridge were well stocked and there was a good selection of products. They do boxed up hot meals e.g. breakfast boxes and chips etc... pastries, plate pies and sandwiches. The staff were friendly and the shop clean. I ordered a Saveloy Dip it was served hot and was a good portion size.

Jess and family had a lovely day at pooches cafe. Helping Luna celebrate her birthday . Blaze and Callum are amazing hosts welcoming and friendly . Human food is amazing my two boys recommend chocolate cake it was best they ever tasted . And pooches party food looked just as good . Nothing was any trouble Blaze and Callum happily helped with any requests to keep both humans and pooches happy . Well worth a visit with your 4 legged friends.

Love popping here when I can good choice of gluten free items to eat. And cake to eat in or take away. I can def recommend the caramel apple Betty. 😋

Delicious crispy batter on beautifully cooked fish. Chips were spot on. I have eaten from here several times and the good quality is always maintained. Highly recommend it.

Great bar for lovely cocktails and if the suns shining and you hit happy hour you're in for a great time. The staff are always nice here and in the pub upstairs (maltings) and they make a fantastic raspberry mojito and salted caramel expresso martini. Been here with partner and family and everyone enjoys it. Top bar.

Octavian has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to coffee, be it machine, grinder or bean. A real gem, he is completely honest and trustworthy to work alongside. We have used him now on multiple projects and it is always a pleasure. Many thanks guys, you are superstars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The last time we were in South Shields we went to Colman’s Temple so we wanted to compare the two. Well the outcome is a drawer - both are excellent in quality and quantity. The only difference is we had cod this time compared to haddock. The staff were very accommodating and we would definitely return(to both)

Just had the worst dinner ever. Old roasties and when we told them. Still charged. Also charged for beef when was no. Meat dinners counter staff rude. Won't be back.check Yr bills.

Found a seat easy. However staff were rude. Weren’t welcoming at all. Food was overpriced for what it was. Wouldn’t be coming here again

What a fine, very basic simple decor/furniture, very clean. Friendly staff. Food was great, tasty and plentiful, couldn't believe the portion size for the cost. Excellent value for money, would definitely recommend and will visit again.

Just returned from a week end here due to cancellation in Newcastle we found this late Friday night and was accommodated with the dogs , staff was lovey and the colmans fish&chips in close proximity ! We like it and definitely would return really good walks for the dogs nice views also Update to previous review , we’d never return to this place agin fell ill with a lot of headaches and flue symptoms very poorly me an my girlfriend… after waking up there we done a Covid test … positive the room was very dirty that time around sheets with hair and stains and a blond idiot woman worked in the cafeteria that was not there last time we stayed ,barking things at people ruined breakfast complete idiot she was . So that’s the end of the little Covid hotel for us .

I've used the Red Hut cafe several times and never been disappointed yet. It's completely Covid aware, staff are patient and knowledgeable. I usually order Fish & Chips and they are cooked to order, Always a good size well cooked fish and lovely browned chips. Not much you can say about F & C but they beat renowned Colman's by streets

Been twice lately. Second time to give benefit of doubt. Should've trusted initial judgement. Everything tastes old. Asked for batter with chips. It was dark brown it had been reheated that many times. I suspect as I've gone in at lunch they're just keeping last nights food in and reheating it. It's not called Manky Frankies for nowt
