Michael's Cafe in South Tyneside

What a fine, very basic simple decor/furniture, very clean. Friendly staff. Food was great, tasty and plentiful, couldn't believe the portion size for the cost. Excellent value for money, would definitely recommend and will visit again.

Great cafe.. staff are soo lovely. Not long been back up north. Food is homecooked and bloody lovely. Great little snug cosy place to grab a bite to eat. Prices are fab. Atmosphere is relaxed and warm welcome awaits. I.ll definitely be telling everyone to visit. It's on par with my favourite cafe. But from now on. I'll be back all the time. You shouldn't miss this ideal gem of a cafe. Clean spotless and just cosy . Don't delay head over today you will not be disappointed. Great cafe. 10/10.

I called at Michael's cafe yesterday and ordered a sausage sandwich and a bacon sandwich. I was surprised to see him put buttered buns in microwave. He then put sàusage in the chip pan to warm up and then he microwaved my anaemic bacon. When my partner opened her sausage sandwich we realised why he had done bun in microwave it was rock hard. I looked at my bacin and just threw it away.That is not the way to cook never shall i return.

Cannot understand what some people want every time I go to Micheals the food is top nosh hot and service is very quick. I have known micheal a lot of years and have always found him to be a very nice person, very polite and an exellent chef.

Ordered a Jacket Potato with beans and cheese to be give a jackect potato with god knows what on it (definitely meat) and no offer to correct the mistake or to refund. Went hungry at work for the full day as no time to get anything from anywhere else. Called up to compalin and the response was well what do you want me to do about it. Shocking and you have lost a customer for life now.

We went to South shields for a day trip and called on Friday for a meal. We had fish and chips with salad and mushy peas the price was very reasonable also there are a lot of other choices at least thirteen types of dinners,sandwiches and jacket potatoes as well as toasties and also deserts.The service was very good and we didn't have long to wait.

Lunchtime meal - (1415 on 06 Feb 2019)The day's special.Liver+three veg and chips and a pot of coffee £4.80 total. Meal came quick and was top notch. Really filling and hot too. Very basic decor to cafe but with nice big windows plenty of light gets in and an opportunity to 'people watch' whilst eating.Staff were very helpful and friendly. I will certainly be eating here again. Decent size menu and cheap too.

Very poor service went for breakfast nothing ready had to tell Waitrose 3 times what we ordered toast cold no hash brown ready forgot bacon an sausage shocking 40 mins to wait awful

been to michaels cafe again today with my friend maureen meals were great service excellent value for money lovely family cafe right in the heart of the market place we use to go michaels other cafes in south sheilds now he only has this one but service and food are second to none highly recomended pleased he is still there and a credit to south sheilds staff and michael well done

Michaels cafe is a bit of a market intetution , for good chat , and local atmosphere this is the place to go on market days . Good food at very reasonable prices , try the full breakfast or his bacon Sarnies
