We go to this pub on a regular basis we book a table on January the 2nd they made a mistake with the booking by putting a another booking at 11.30 instead of staying sorry they sat the couple next to us and a member of staff told the other customers we had lied I will no longer be using that pub

Extended since the last time I was in. Spacious, friendly spoons!

Didn't eat here on this visit, though we have eaten here previously on several occasions A large glass of wine was 2.50 and a pint of abbots ale was 1.45. very good value. Pleasant staff, good service.

The only problem i have is the food is not hot enough perhaps microwave for public use would help

Absolutely disgusting interaction with Jamie - presumably a manager as wasn’t wearing black. Attitude was uncalled for when simply asking for a straw. To then be met with rude and evil glares for the duration of my visit there. Ordered a pizza and was slammed on the table. No ‘enjoy your meal’ or check back as usually met with from other staff members. Appalling from a manager really.

Meal was tepid as staff took time to find our table (nods 9 or 6 and 20) did not know where our table was, large mixed grill meat very dry and not very hot.

It is warmer outside than in the pub, either turn the heating on or turn the air conditioning off!

Best place to go for fresh food and drinks.

A very lively and good Wetherspoons. Staff great. Only issue is problem with it's serving at the bar. They need to make their mind up. Had signs along bar telling people not to queue just go to bar so people did that. Then removed signs so people started to queue again. Quite orderly. But other customers followed what they had been told by signs to go straight to bsr and not queue. Saw some pretty heated arguments where people felt people were queue jumping. Make your mind up management and get staff to look around and remember order customers were waiting the way it used to happen in pubs. Either organise a queue system or make it clear not to queue and wait at bar with staff who look around abd notice when customers arrive.

Nice little boozer near the Metro station, friendly staff and good service.

Great bar that serves good quality food, we call in for breakfast once in a while. There are plenty of options and the prices are very low compared to other places. It's also a great bar to start or finish off your night out just chilled and relaxing.

Quick service, not too much of an atmosphere. When the weather is nice, can go in the garden and eat.

I had the vegetarian brunch, three Quorn sausages, two fried eggs, beans and chips,which was lovely, and a pint of Ruddles and three pints of Abbot, which were spot on.

This is the largest Wetherspoons I have visited. It's a very large open plan old building where you can see the food being prepared as well as having huge outdoor space which enables them to split it into a smoking and non smoking area. Bravo, as a non smoker this was brilliant to find on a very warm and sunny day and made my visit far more pleasurable. We used the App to order food and I was pleased to see several new choices on the menu as I am not able to eat the burgers due to something in the mix (possibly cooking oil or spread but it tastes really funky). I went with a chicken shawarma wrap with chips. It was fine. The chicken pieces were very small compared to a 'real' shawarma but it was definitely spicy and tasty enough. Staff and service was excellent, nothing I could fault there, they were polite and helpful. For a random Tuesday lunchtime it was fairly busy. I can imagine this place heaving on an evening and would be far too busy for me, but I would happily visit again for lunch.

I've visited a couple of times now. It is always quite busy but the place is huge and you can always get a table. The waiting time for food and drinks was excellent and the service was great! Very friendly, efficient and attentive staff. The food was excellent and they have a great range of food and drink to suit all tastes. You can order food and drink straight to your table via the Wetherspoon app which is very convenient.

Wrong order came, did not complain just ordered again. Food was ok but service !

I’ve visited this place dozen of times for fine food and drink. Tonight the manager dealt with a rather unsavoury situation very well. I hope she enjoys her wine tonight Food is always good service tremendous And I expect an extra pint on my next visit Peace out x

It's enormous and on a sunny day the beer garden is superb

Most of the staff excel in customer service, food and drink is nice alongside a good atmosphere generated by the customers, experience was soured heavily by a young man in management who wouldn't give his name but displayed extremely disappointing customer service, this is also not the first time I have been and seen this service displayed

The pub in large with indoor and outdoor seating. We didn’t use the bar as ordered through the app. When walking through the pub and into the beer garden there were lots of tables where people had left that had not been cleaned or wiped down. The food was decent tho standard Wetherspoon’s. We were served quiet quickly too after ordering.

Had breakfast there today - looked good & plentiful, unfortunately the only 'warm', not hot , items were the hash browns & the sausage! Seems like plates were not warmed, or had been left standing for too long before being served to table.

New manager is really helpful, he should be given a pay rise. Updated review: January 28th 2023: Although I'm not a fan of Tim Martin's Brexit ideals (and why is he selling pubs now) his pub ideology works for me. The updated South Shields one is pretty good, and the staff are very kind to an OAP. Sept 2023 update, still very helpful staff, I like their service. November 2023: Visited on a Sunday, no complaints, still good for me. June 2024 - It seems more popular than ever, I cannot see Tim closing this one.

Great place for a cheap and cheerful meal and a drink. Excellent choice of alcohol and non alcoholic drinks. Of course it is a typical Wetherspoon venue. Very nice staff, friendly eager to help. Beer garden at the back.

Cheap and cheerful, no nonsense pubs with a good selection of ales at very reasonable. My only criticism is how many tables they cram into my local 'spoons. This results in negotiating round parts of the pub being a bit like tripping to find your way round Hampton Court maze! But I suppose that's all part of how they manage to keep prices down, so can't really complain.

We had dinner and drinks here. It was lovely food and the drinks were cheap enough. Good atmosphere too.

Went for food with my family got 10 chips and the smallest double cheese burger and softdrink £9.70 never again a disgrace

Very good. However, there's a rather odd rule, it seems, regarding clearing plates and glasses. There appears to be lots of staff walking back from service while not picking up plates or glasses. Eventually, there's a sweep, but I would have thought any member of staff should be able to pick something up and take it away.... is there a work to rule thing going on here. I generally don't complain about stuff, but this is rather obvious...

Enjoying a family meal (8 people), nice food but a very rude waitress. When ordering drinks from the bar the lady that served us informed us of a deal 3x WKD for £5.75 so we ordered these. When sitting at the table with these drinks, a waitress (with very short, gel'd, bleach blonde hair) approached our table and said to my 13 year old daughter "you better not be drinking those" to which my daughter replied "No and pointed to her soft drink". The waitress then said "me and my staff will be watching and if we catch you drinking it then you will be chucked out". I approached the bar and informed the female manager ag the bar and all she said was "sorry". Me and my family spent alot of money and I was very disappointed that my daughter did not receive an apology. We will NOT be returning.

When visiting wouldhalve the kitchen staff where very busy but was not very happy about 1 of the staff as shr was in the kitchen with no apron or hair covering on like all other staff and her hair was not tied up mraning that there was a possibility that hair might of ended up in the food not good but over all everything else was spot on staff work very hard

just popped in with my partner and friends after they finished work with my 5 month old puppy. nowhere outside the pub said there was no dogs allowed but just to be on the safe side i picked my dog up to walk through the pub to get to the outside area. as i was walking through a really rude member of staff shouted at me (she was a larger lady wearing a frilly top talking to one of the chefs) across the pub saying i can’t have my dog in here. there was no problem in not allowing the dog inside its the fact she shouted at me across the pub instead of saying nicely there was no dogs allowed in, i then asked if she was allowed in the outside area and she replied back no quite snappy and with no sympathy. The lady was absolutely appalling and if i was her manager id be disgusted, coming from a fellow barmaid, allowing your staff to speak to customers this way is disgusting and id get firmly told off if this was me interacting with a customer. absolutely disgusting

Full English breakfast was good. Drink as much tea/coffee as you want when paying for 1 cup. No Americano coffee so drank Latte which was good..

We only popped in for one drink at about 10.30pm on a Friday, it was relatively quiet with lots of tables free. Good place to go if you want to talk.

The food while still good, missed a lot of the garnish that they used to serve. Decent enough range of cask ales on tap
