The Lakeside Inn in South Tyneside

My wife and I went to this pub/restaurant for a belated valentine meal on Saturday the 15th of February. It is a nice and cosy pub with log fires and a warm atmosphere. We arrived early so we could have a drink in the bar before our 7.30 dinner slot. A portion of the bar was reserved for bottomless brunches, so finding a seat was difficult. We eventually found one near the log fire and I went to the bar for drinks. It then began. The staff behind the bar were on average about 18 years old and in my opinion didn't have a clue what they were doing. I ordered 2 cocktails from the 2 for 1 menu and a lager. The guy serving me didn't look like he knew what went in the cocktail and couldn't find the ingredients, but after about 10 minutes he got there. We went to the restaurant part for dinner to find that we were the only couple put in the back area with a huge family with a lot of unruly children who were running all over the place across ever seat and table and the adults did nothing to deal with this behaviour. We eventually asked to be moved elsewhere and were relocated to avoid an argument. We sat and sat for 20 minutes until someone came to take our order at which point we were told there would be a little wait for food as they had a big group in which was the family in the back area. I ordered food and waited. They had ran out of a certain item so we had to choose something different but that wasn't a big deal. 55 minutes past before my belly pork starter arrived which was nothing but fat. We then sat and waited and waited for the main course until I eventually asked the waiting staff how long it was going to be, at this point she said that I was told there was a 2 hour wait for food which of course was not true, they said a little wait. I told her that if I had been told 2 hours I would have gone somewhere else at which point the supervisor who had originally spoken to us came over and I told him I was going to pay for what I had and leave but he assured me he was going to push our order through and that the 4 guys in the kitchen on a not so busy Saturday night were doing their best. However there was another table of 4 people who had waited as much time as we had yet others were coming in after us and had gotten their meals before us. Eventually the food came which I enjoyed but my wife thought was mearly passable, they offered us a free drink, which I declined so our desserts which were quite nice were given free for our inconvenience. I was also not charged for the fatty pork starter. The waiting staff were really nice but on a whole if you go when there is a larger family in or they are moderately busy, good luck getting food within 2 hours because the kitchen staff can't cope, and the bar staff are a bunch of kids that don't know what they are doing.

I can’t actually give a review of the food as it never arrived!!! Myself and my partner were waiting for 90 minutes (the restaurant wasn’t busy) When we eventually decided to give up and go home, we advised the waitress we were leaving and to cancel our food. The waitress was lovely however, advised our food order wasn’t received by the kitchen. The manager came over looked at us like we were the problem mumbled something at us and walked away!! This is our first time at this place and definitely wouldn’t go again!!! Absolutely shocking service and even worse attitude from management!!!

Been here a few times before so went with the family tonight. Menu shocking next to nothing on it very limited choice.ordered the hunters chicken onion rings burnt chips soggy carrots looked very sorry for themselves all withered. Pie of the day said with mash came with chips and a teaspoon of gravy. To top the night of the waiter knocked over one of the drink soaking a member of our party although he did apologize. All in all won't be returning

We visited on a Monday lunch time in the restaurant area. The staff were welcoming and polite. The log fire was on and gave the room a lovely warmth and a great ambiance. The food was well presented and delicious all four plates cleared which tells a story..one meal was gluten free. We will definitely be going back to sample the rest of the menu . . . Our meal was delayed due to an error but the team informed us ASAP about the issue and didn't charge us for our after meal teas and coffees as a gesture. Now that's what you call customer service......

First time here with my partner and it won’t be the last. I had the salt and pepper chicken and he had mince and dumplings, the food was absolutely delicious and great servings as well , both of us were stuffed and happy . Definitely be back again .

This was our first visit to lakeside, we went for Sunday lunch after seeing good reviews and I was very disappointed ☹️ the meat was just a slab of fat on my plate (pork) I chose the regular which was exactly the same size as the small plates and I asked if my son could have an extra Yorkie as he only eats meat (I got him a large for this reason) and puddings and the chef replied “no its too busy” I’ve never known that in a carvery before. The vegetables were average, the roasties were raw in the middle and overall the food quality and presentation was poor, the carvery area was messy with bits of veg all over, it wasn’t overly busy so I feel the chef could have took more time in presenting and maintaining the carvery area easily. The mash tasted of cheap margarine spread and was cold. The overall service was also poor nobody came to check the food was ok, nobody asked if we were having starters, she just instantly asked if we wanted small medium or large dinners and came back with some tickets so at that point we just scraped any idea of a starter! The best thing about the whole experience was the desserts, the crumble was a huge portion and really tasty, the fudge cake was also good but why serve it on a tiny side plate? There was chocolate sauce and custard overflowing off the plate. Overall the experience was poor this place has got so much more potential and there’s much better around to choose from

We had our daughters wedding here at the lakeside and had the best day ever thanks to the lovely owners and their staff Sharon could not do enough for us and we’re forever grateful everyone commented on the lovely decor and the atmosphere in the room I would recommend it to anyone looking for a party or a meal out. The lakeside is the place to go to thank you all so so much for making our day xxxxxxxx

Loved it but booked the restaurant. But liked the bar more. Food was first class will be back.

Food OK. However customer service not good. Shown to a table where staff had to bring chairs. The table by door leading to toilets, kept getting disturbed. Once main course arrived, that was end of customer service. No one cleared the table. Eventually left without seeing sweet menu. Disappointing.

I like to read reviews of places I visit and have noticed more and more AI review information. Not sure I’m comfortable with AI so I go in with an open mind. The lakeside proved to be very good as us three friends have found over the years. There are more specials, staff were good and no long waits. Food was plenty and very enjoyable.

First time visit we went for the Sunday carvery it was much better than your average carvery I highly recommend the stuffing balls 😉 and I would definitely book in advance staff really friendly and welcoming will be back again to sample more food

I've been here several times before and never been disappointed. Sadly we were this time,over 1 hour for our meals to come out and then they weren't the best and a bit cold. No time to have a dessert as we needed to get back to work. It was our work christmas lunch. Lots of others were complaining too! We almost walked out before our meals came as we had waited so long, it was ridiculous. We had to stuff it down to get back to work on time.

We had an absolutely beautiful Christmas Day here today and really enjoyed ourselves, food, service, the place itself was perfect and couldn't fault anything even if we tried. Thank you to The Lakeside Team for their brilliant effort and well organised day 👏👍

Best Sunday carvery we've had in years, the service for drinks was a little slow but the food more than made up for our wait.

Really bad experience this night was... waited hours for a meal then when it arrived it was disgusting I wouldn't give these meals to Oliver twist family arrived all the way from Scotland for a birthday but was very dissapointed and my father in law was very poorly after waiting so long for his meal

Breakfast with santa was amazing! We took 5 children and it was the most relaxing Xmas trip we have ever had! Food was great, the crafts set up for the kids was fantastic. The kids were constantly entertained and they loved every minute. Would highly recommend! Thankyou!

Poor and very disappointing Was told wait of 40 minutes but waited 90 minutes whilst others came in after got served. We had rang to book days before Food cold and chips were really awful when finally arrived

Popped in for a lunch with some friends and very glad we did. The food was excellent. A few of us had the hot roast beef rolls with gravy & some of the best pub chips I have ever had. Others in the party had the Lakeside burger, coated sarnie & minced beef & dumpings all equally delicious. There was a bit of a wait but believe me it was well worth it & I am a firm believer that if your food comes out too quick then it's probably not fresh. The staff were all warm & welcoming. We will all be back again soon

This is what the locals call their local. This is a great venue for a night out with friends. The ambience is buzzing with friendship and laughs. Everyone in here seems to know everyone else or at least understand what family they are from. I would recommend this friendly buzzing positive place to anyone who wants a great night out with their work colleagues for any party. I can't emphasize enough this is a safe place for a stranger. The folk are chatty friendly and are our for a good time nobody is looking for stress or bother... It's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ all the way.

We arrived as a party of 10, we originally booked 13, we had the decency to ring at 11.30 to reduce the booking to 10, we were not told at this time they were a chef down, we arrived 12.30 as booked took our table and were left to our own devices, 12.45 approached the bar to be told you need to order here and there is 45 lead in on food due to being a chef down, we decided to wait, asked at the bar at 1.30 how long the food would be, advised 20 mins, food arrived at 2.15, we had to get our own cutlery and napkins as the table wasn't even set, fish and chips had to sent back as cold, complained to manager who advised she would see what she could do, she done absolutely nothing, not even as much as an apology, was a family occasion for a 1 year memorial, what should have been an afternoon reminiscing was ruined by quizzing where the food was🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ absolutely never again

Had booked a special family lunchtime meal here. Arrived to find our group table hadn’t been set up. Ordered food and told that they were a chef down so there would be a 45 minute wait. Food arrived an hour and a half after we arrived and some of the party had to rush away due to commitments. On complaining to the manager she said there would be some gesture/apology/compensation, but none was forthcoming. We won’t be going back

Visited today for Breakfast with Santa and it was an utter shambles. Sat waiting for food to be ready for an hour, then was served cold food that was of poor quality. The staff are friendly and helpful but there was no organisation to this event and very poor communication about what to do and when. Santa was tucked away in an outdoor area with some tarp over him that was almost blowing away, the craft activities were just a bunch of premade kits from Aldi. Not worth the money in the slightest and we won't be back next year I'm afraid.

Our small group of three friends chose different meals to try out. Normally you’d find a grumble about one but not in this case. The Chicken Parmo, Scampi and Pizza were excellent. Special praise for a beautiful pizza with soft base. Proper chips too! Warm pub, Christmassy and staff good. Can be a little bit expensive.

We hosted a private Christmas get together here on 7th of December using the conservatory area and can honestly say it was fantastic from start to finish. The room was ideal, the staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for us and the food & setting were perfect. We will definitely return and highly recommend. What a gem of a place, the owners should be proud.

Food was awful. I had the chicken gyros, and I think they may well have used Sundays leftovers to make it. Stay well away from that dish!

Such a shame as we love this place but the service today was dire. We always visit when our in laws come up from Wales and often visit once per month for the carvery. We purposely book a table each time. This occassion we booked a week in advance, to wait 10 mins to be seated then be informed that food would be 1 hour wait! To make it worse a couple sat next to our table had stated they were informed 40 mins wait and had been there for 1 hour 10 without food. What is the point in booking a table if you cannot provide the service. It looked as though they were catering for a works function, however if you are unable to cope with bookings and functions, dont do it. We decided to leave and go to the bowes incline instead, to which we travelled were seated and served super fresh food all before the hour!

I was disappointed this week as both myself and my partners meat was cut half inch thick and that's no exaggeration. Quality of the vegetables was also down and believe that the heat lamps were possibly not working as we were 5th in que to be served and they weren't hot at all. Pleasant atmosphere as usual and the staff service couldn't be faulted as usual. May give it another try in the new year to see if there have been any changes to food service.

Poor 45 minutes for a meal to be told they had none left second choice nothing left when meal came it was poor second time I've been won't be going back

Only four stars as they had ran out of sticky toffee pudding. Staff and premises are top spec and only eight minutes walk from my front door. I highly recommend

Was here on Monday evening I ordered mince & dumplings after waiting 1hour 10minutes my meal came. Was cold the dumpling was hard Took it back , was just microwaved and made the dumpling even harder Worst food Iv ever had I’ll never return to this place Daughter and her partners meal was rubbish as well Very disappointed

Excellent carvery really busy at times but worth it

I'm not usually one to complain but.... we attended last night there was 5 of us. we meet once a year for our friends memory . we arrived at 6pm and left around 8.30pm . this was the worst place i have been out for food for in a while . food is over priced I think and the quality is no were near up to standard . we got 2 x fajitas a burger a curry and a salt and chilli chicken . not one meal on the table was any good . so after waiting nearly an hour for our food to be served. they didn't make us pay for the 2x fajitas and the chicken but the other 2 girls paid for their food because some of it was ate. it was dry and had no taste . a real let down for such a lovely put together pub . iv been a few times before and is usually lovely . wont be going back again . i honestly wouldn't recommend it at all there is much better places in the area for less money and better quality

Visited today, been many times previously. Do t know what's happened but terrible today, sons steak badly cooked my fish and chips burnt, wife's mince and dumplings very dry. On top of that for some reason place was over run with dogs many of which were constantly yapping. Vibe of place has totally changed from previous visits, very disappointing

Waited 30 mins for our meals. They seemed quite overpriced for what they were. We won't be hurrying back.

What is becoming a regular visit now, friends meet at the smart Lakeside for an early dinner. Staff are great, pub itself is huge but welcoming. Three different meals tried, all rated top marks.

Went out tonight with family for my granddaughters birthday there was 11 of us. We all ordered our starters and mains, instead of everyone getting their food at the same time it came out drips and drabs. By the time I got my starter everyone else in the table had finished theirs. Gas had gone off on the pizza oven so when staff brought a family members pizza out ( wrong order) she basically said it’s this pizza you can have or you can order something else. Food wasn’t up to scratch and as for the mixed grill it was terrible. I won’t be going back . 2 starters, 2 mains , 3 pints of madri and 2 diet cokes £75 or near to that

Food wasn't great, cold meal. Ordered the 3 course meal but had to go up to the bar and ask for our dessert. not very attentive

Fabulous carvery and fantastic table service

Really disappointing. Definitely a contender for the worst fish and chips ever - cremated not cooked, and my wife’s Salt and Pepper Chicken Sizzler bore no resemblance to the menu description and was disgusting. We will not be returning.

Five of us went for the bottomless brunch, and it was amazing. We got upgraded to VIP, so we had numerous cocktails, and the waitress looking after five rowdy women was lovely. The food was beautiful, two of us had the chicken tikka hanging kebabs, which were delicious and the other three had pizzas which again was gorgeous. Courtney went above and beyond to serve us our meals and the drinks. She was amazing, friendly, and full of fun. We tried to give her a tip at the end of the night, but she said it had to go in the tip jar. We had a word with Zach, the supervisor, and he explained that this was company procedure. Whilst I agree to a certain extent with this, we all, as a group, wanted Courtney to have it all for putting up with us. However, we had a cracking night and will definitely be back again. Did take photos of the hanging kebabs, but my pals were behind them, so not appropriate to share them.

We booked a table for nine at 6.30pm. We arrived on time but after 15 minutes we had to go and ask for the menu. When we went to the bar to order we were told we couldn't order from the main menu and had to order from the Chinese menu. We were less than happy. An hour after ordering, the food arrived and to be fair it was enjoyable and everyone was happy. However, what wasn't good was the "Craft" beer. I drink what was on offer regularly at other establishments so i do know what to expect. These were awful with a foisty after taste which indicated to us that the pipes needed cleaning or the kegs needed changing. Unpalatable which we left.

Very disappointed. The food I ordered was awful. The salt and pepper chicken was so dry and more salty chicken. The staff were a little off too - a little rude and snappy. Basic things like offering condiments and making sure the food was ok just didn’t happen. Won’t be going back for food again as it has gone downhill quite a bit in recent times. The pub itself is lovely for sure though. So a great place for a drink.

Gorgeous food and amazing service in a beautiful rustic setting! Our place now! Halloumi skewer & Lamb shank. The chef even came out to check if the lamb was good enough. They provided tasters of drinks before deciding which one. Very friendly and caring. Will definitely be back! Thankyou so much!

We chose the Lakeside inn as it was equidistant to each of us to get too. Over the years we’ve been here with our own families and rarely been let down. Today was no expection. Service very good, smart inn, plenty of space and three meals were moreish and tasty. A good choice for a meal and a natter

Sunday lunch with the family this has to be the best place to go! The Sunday carvery is just the best great choice for all the family food hot and good choice of vegetables great value for money staff so friendly always pleasant and a warm welcome it’s a must to visit you won’t be disappointed

Went for anniversary both had steak wouldnt have it again very chewy not lmpressed and was not value for money the pub itself is nice other food might be ok but i dont think we would risk going back

We were seated in a very dark spot with no lights and kept waiting for drinks after our first order. Food was lovely.

Lovely family meal for my wife's birthday

We hired the conservatory for a family birthday, (90th) the environment was fabulous as was the staff assisting us, friendly, polite and efficient. We ordered the traditional buffet, which at first looked not enough food, although there was some left. (I had to ask where it was as it was late being brought through). The beef dips went down well, sandwiches were lovely, although the cornedbeef pie was extremely salty. Overall we had a wonderful afternoon. The reason for 4 stars was down to the extremely salty corned beef pie.

Went on new years day night for ABBA tribute which was fine, paid 15 pounds per person which the lakeside advertised food in between ABBA tribute, only thing to arrive was cold Yorkshire puddings which were left overs from Sunday lunch which they were giving away to people in the bar. People from the bar were just walking in to the tent having not paid a penny and watch the tribute act. Absolutely shocking event, will not be returning any time soon

Had a meal inside at the restaurant but wouldn't have one again. Okay for drinks but meals very dry, possibly cooked earlier in day and just heated up in microwave. Too dry to eat, left most of both meals we ordered. Wouldn't visit for food again. Waitresses very helpful and friendly, good location and facilities but the food in the restaurant lets the place down.

Avoid the stack meals we got served cold chips which appeared to be from a chip shop with 2 small bits of chicken in a bowl. We've been coming to the lakeside for over 10 years and always loved the food but tonight was our first bad experience. Poor service and awful food compared to usual. We complained and got a discount. Not sure what went wrong tonight. Hopefully a one off.⁶

Amazing value for money food is outstanding and service is second to none

We decided to go for a walk and try this place out for food. Managed to get a table no problem it was really hot inside Ordered a starter and a main. We waited about 40 mins for starter to arrive. Then our main took another 30/40 mins to arrive. If we were told about the long wait we might have went elsewhere. We could see people in there getting irrate regarding the time it was taking for their food to arrive. Some waited over an hour and it wasn't busy at all. Quite disappointed with that although could fault the food. We won't be going back in a hurry

Service was slow, they lost our order twice and then the wrong for came. Once they got it right, it was okay though. Nothing amazing. **Update** just been back again a few years later, still very much the same. Massive lack of parking now. Some people on the table got their food, some didn't until we asked. Food is alright but nothing amazing. Friendly enough atmosphere.

Have used the main pub before & always a great service & food. Today I went for lunch but they had a wedding on within the main pub / building so was told that food can be ordered outside via mobile van. I ordered the peppercorn chicken stack for £12.95. What I got was a bowl of chips, pre cooked half a chicken breast, mushroom gravy served in a cardboard box. Totally unimpressed with the food for the cost.. Don’t order from the van outside, stick to the main pub. Bowl of chips with pre cooked chicken for £12.95 is unacceptable. The van is pulling down the reputation of the main pub which has always been great for service & food. DON’T BUT FOOD FROM THE VAN IN THE GARDEN. I look forward to a reply.

Didnt have food, the carvery looked gorgeous though.will be back for that.great outdoors play area for children, bouncy castle, wooden frames, wooded area, great set up for outdoor match watching and a bar/pizza/ burger offer by the looks.nice staff, nice atmosphere, well used but still seems relaxed

I would like to give this place 5 stars and here is why. We walked here on Saturday from Travelodge expecting nothing. It was a lovely sunny day, with loads of people enjoying drinks, pizza, and sunshine outside. Although I didn’t like the fact that there was no outside food available except pizza at that point and we couldn’t get a table inside, and there were too many empty glasses and rubbish outside, we still had an amazing time. Our kids really enjoyed playing at the back, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Despite a few minor issues, the overall experience was fantastic, and we look forward to coming back.

Used to be a lovely place with lovely atmosphere and food. Obviously under new management bar staff are barely 18. Today went for just a drink and the tables outside weren't level and wonky so a drink had spilled . One young lad offered to come clean up and replace pint. Then he sent me to the bar to grab said drink I asked another young boy serving and explained situation. He was lovely and polite and went to my drink ... then out of no where a large lady with ginger hair assuming the new manager would not allow him to replace my drink... she told me to pay again so we walked out and will never be returning we are there every week atkeats once for food or drink and its changed ownership or something because that new manager needs to learn a few things or 2 in customer service or to have stable tables so they aren't robbing people of full pints!!! Really gutted the new people have ruined the place not happy at all for the sake of one pint they've lost alot of money for the foreseeable. Horrible manager if that's what she was... management course needed 😌 £13 on 2 drinks that got wasted because they stick tables anywhere outside ... never again #BOYCOTT Can't get the staff, bring back whoever ran it before covid...

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere

Excellent service and food, the chef was very generous with the carvery and great with the kids. First visit and will definitely return soon.

We went on Sunday as we were passing anyway and asked if they had a spare table. We were doubtful as the car park was full, however the staff gladly accommodated us and got us a table in the conservatory. On a Sunday they only have the carvery, which was no problem. We ordered one large and 2 standard and were given tickets immediately. Went up to the counter and ordered the meat, there was also options of mince and dumplings, a lovely looking pie and beef Stroganoff. We got generous servings of the selected meats and helped ourselves to the vegetables. At the end there was a selection of sauces and some gravy boats, which is great as I like to put my gravy on after I've eaten some of my meal. Everything was tasty, so revoked to visit here.

First time visit today place is lovely and food was very tasty had the parmo and husband had chicken sizzler both meals spot on and served by very polite and friendly staff would go back and would reccomend trying this place out very welcoming and lovely atmosphere

Was a brilliant place, brilliant food, amazing workers atmosphere was brill.

Music was far too loud. Couldn't have a conversation. Food was OK but waited over half an hour for starters and mains served before we were asked if we were ready for them. I'm disabled and not great if I needed my wheelchair.

Was only people in when ordering waited over 1hur for our meals and wasn't the best salmon swimming in oil terrible ,heard nothing but good things about this place but not for me not be returning

Lovely food, tempura prawns, scotch egg, Steak and Ale pie for great value. Donna was a lovely host and provided great service.

Wow, it's a great place for a Sunday dinner. The carvery was second to none, with very friendly courteous staff. We had travelled a long distance and we were not disappointed. Truly great 👍

We’re from Manchester and was staying in a hotel just up the road. We was attending a dance comp in the morning and googled nearest place for food. This place was perfect…food was gorgeous and reasonable priced. Staff were so welcoming. We could here some great tunes so took our drinks over to the bar area and had the best night…slightly hungover for the dance comp but worth it. Thank you 😊

We’d booked a table for 4 adults and 3 children aged 2 to 13 for 12.30pm. It was just as well as the large Inn was full and the queue for the meals (carvery, mince or pie) was long. After being shown to our table a waitress asked us what drinks we’d like. There was no menu, she explained what was served on a Sunday and whether we wanted regular, small or large. By the time we’d decided the queue was gone and we collected our meals with the relevant sized card we’d opted for. The chef was excellent, portions were big (even small, and the chips, sausage and peas for the 2 year old). Staff were extremely busy but very good. Only slight problem was it took a while for drinks and the gravy was a bit salty for some tastes. The popular Inn serves a great selection during the week but this was our first carvery.

Love going out for Sunday lunch. I was not disappointed with the carvery at the lakeside (Jarrow). Great choice of meats and fresh veg. Also alternative if you don’t want carvery. Staff were very friendly. Will be trying mid week lunch this week. Will definitely be doing another Sunday lunch

The food here is the best I’ve ever had, the staff were absolutely lovely to us and made us aware of everything as well as making us feel welcome. I had a pizza which I thoroughly enjoyed and my family enjoyed their food as well. The atmosphere was very nice as well, genuinely nothing to fault from this place. Will definitely come back.

Me and my partner went for food on Monday night , we had the hanging kebabs 2 for 30 with a soft drink , was absolutely delicious , we were quickly seated and drinks order taken, you have to wait 20 mins as they are cooked fresh, pub is beautiful and thr staff are so welcoming and polite and eager to help well done

I came here before a few years ago and after a frosty reception we decided to eat elsewhere and I never went back. Tonight a friend persuaded me to go so I gave another chance, again frosty reception. Id rang earlier in the day to reserve and when I arrived I was greeted by 'did you book online? Did you ring? Uh ermm oh I dunno then, that just be your table over there'. No smile no warm welcome at all. Ordered a glass of prosecco which was flat and warm so when I politely asked for a new one as it was flat, I was was faced with 'well it's just been opened fresh'. It hadn't because I'd seen it was the last poured. Anyone decent at customer service would have just apologised and got me a new one. I decided to have a wine next just incase it was flat again. The wine was warm, when I went to see why....it turns out the fridge that all the prosecco and wine was in was broken. There was no light on in it so I asked is it turned off and she shrugged saying it's broken. So it's just fine to take out hard earned cash and serve warm wine and prosecco rather than make room in a different fridge?! I then went to order food and all the staff were stood gossiping and laughing at the end of the bar for ages before I was noticed. When the food came, the chips were stone cold..I didn't even bother complaining at this point because they clearly couldn't care less. How they have any custom is beyond me! As a business owner I don't take bad reviews lightly but this was an absolute joke of an experience and they need to learn from it and make.imorovwments.

Very rude waitress meal running 45minutes late after ringing me and asking us to come to our table. Half of what we ordered was not available. Mussels undercooked and most of them not open. We will never visit this place again

A group of. Us came in on Saturday for drinks . The cocktails were amazing and the staff could not of been any nicer and so friendly . We didn’t intent to have food but the hanging kebabs looked too good to pass up . And they didn’t disappoint. Would highly recommend the lakeside . The food and staff are amazing

We visited the lakeside on Friday for food and it didn’t disappoint we got the fish and chips and they where banging!! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We’d definitely be back. So totally recommend

I’ve gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt to apologise, however there has been no response to my email. Booked a table online, unbeknown to me they had an event on - went at 1:30pm, they couldn’t find my booking reservation so we’re reluctant to sit us - luckily Id taken a screenshot of confirmation. Server told us we had to order the food quick as there was an event on which was fine as we knew what we wanted, there was only me and my partner and one other table of two women in the whole restaurant. (Server had a terrible attitude and was complaining to another staff member about being put in for a shift on good Friday as she’d rather be on the drink - understandable but that’s not my fault). When the food came out we got asked if we had ordered 4 meals, which we hadn’t. They served us the food, after around about 2 minutes the server came back over to the table and told me I had the wrong meal (salt and pepper fish stack rather than chicken). I told her i was fine with that meal instead as i’d already been eating/ enjoying it. She snatched the plate from me and swapped it for my original meal, thought that was bizarre until she served the meal I had been eating to the only other table in the restaurant (the poor woman had no idea she was eating the food I had already been served/ eating) I understand that yous we’re in a rush as there was an event on and the chef was probably only working until a certain time however serving a paying customer food that another customer had already been eating instead of making a fresh plate of food is not only disgusting but also unhygienic. I emailed a week ago however my email was ignored would’ve been happy with an apology and acknowledge that service is unacceptable. Didn’t want it to have had to come to this as I normally thoroughly enjoy this restaurant, happy for the restaurant to rewatch the camera footage to confirm this happened .

Great food, great prices, plenty of seats, seperate parts for venues if required outside smoking area to with tables. lovely atmosphere and great prices

Went to the lakeside inn as a large group of 9 for a birthday meal. Booked in advance a few weeks prior. On entering we were sat promptly. Our drinks orders were taken and then we were advised there would be a 1 hour wait for food. I explained to the waitress we had booked this table in advance. I asked to speak to the manager and was advised they didn’t have a manager onsite but passed me to another member of the team. She advised they were extremely busy as they had taken a lot of walk ins. I explained surely you would turn tables away or explain to them that they had to wait 1 hour if they chose but we had purposely booked for a special occasion. She spoke to the chef and there was nothing they could do. 1 hour 10 minutes later our food arrived. It was beautifully presented. We ordered 3 portions of mince and dumplings and all dumplings were raw inside and weren’t cooked properly. The staff were very apologetic and replaced the items with alternative food items. We attended on a Monday night so it wasn’t very busy, if the kitchen can’t accomodate large orders they shouldn’t be taking the bookings or they should be turning walk ins away as most people wouldn’t be prepared to sit and wait 1 hour for food and then for it to turn up uncooked, as it had clearly been rushed.
