Been having breakfast here for years,always good and great value.Helen and her staff are all lovely.

Known this place for as long as it's been open (many many years)..always friendly atmosphere, mince dinner was huge and delicious

Popped in for a takeaway sandwich, ended up staying for a cup of tea, and left with the sandwich and 2 cakes, great service and food, brilliant staff, nothing was any problem no change since last time, sat outside in the sun this time

Great Food Served on Every Visit along with Friendly Happy Staff in the Cafe. So I Booked a Buffet for my Birthday Party and wasn't disappointed. It's the only Party I've had where guests commented on how Great the Buffet was for Variety, Quality and Taste. i would Deffinately Recommend and Book Again. Amazing X Thank You X

Good food and coffee. A bit noisy sitting next to the counter.

Nice sized portions, reasonable price and good old fashioned chips.

We left negative feedback about the poor service ( realky slow and they tried to take our food away while we still eating it!) and dirty toilets, only for them to respond with some totally madeup offensive comments about us being rude to the staff which are totally unfounded. This maybe a tactic they use to take down any negative feedback. It says everything about the people running the place.

Lady quite abrupt and unfriendly at the counter and serving at the table. Chicken pannini tasteless. Cheese pannini OK. Toilets and interiors seen better days. We won't come back.

Good food, friendly service and reasonable prices. Would recommend. We had Sunday lunch, it was fresh and plentiful. Wheelchair accessible and outdoor seating. Toilet facilities are accessible too.

The hot beef dip is awesome and is proper sliced roast beef which comes with a proper Yorkie and a gravy boat. Got mine with homemade chips. 10/10

It's a great cafe. I've been coming here since whitburn Comp, with good options and great food. The thing is, these small villages have an aura around them. If you're not from "around here," you may feel an outcast. The majority of paying customers live here, and their families can be traced down lineage to jobe! It's nothing personal, just a whitburn thing.

Only called in for coffee o choice for gluten free cakes/biscuits

Bought mince and dumplings. Gravy was watery with very little mince. Owner was grumpy and bordering on rude.

Amazing food and even better service. The food is fresh and delicious and both waiters we had were absolutely lovely.

Visited today sat outside in the sun lovely atmosphere great Sunday lunch tasty beef plenty of veg no problem when I asked for veg dinner with extra Yorkshire pudding,strawberry tart and banoffee tart finished meal of nicely will return as dog friendly cafe.Staff where very friendly .

Really rude staff. I went in to ask what iced coffee they did and instead of telling me, one of the women said a very abrupt "well what do you want?" And the older lady said "she doesnt know" right in front of me as if I wasnt there. After the first lady came back I tried to calmly talk to her and explain that I didnt like the way theyd spoken to me, I have anxiety so it is often very hard for me to do these things. I was extremely calm and tried my best to not get angry. Then the older lady said that it was my fault for not knowing what I wanted. Literally all I wanted was a list of the iced coffees they did and if they didnt have one then that's all they needed to say "sorry we dont have one". That's it. I left incredibly upset and my entire day suffered. Being nice costs nothing and if you cant give people that then this is not the job for you.

Delicious coffee and tea cakes. Service somewhat off kilter.

Called for lunch, ordered two paninis. One of the paninis was burnt quite severely at one end and I asked for it to be changed, which it was, after a short discussion. The bread we were served was crusty roll. I know that technically this can be described as panini but we expected ciabatta type rolls, which is usual in almost every establishment. This was disappointing. The fillings were rather meagre. The tuna melt was very lacking in flavour. The bacon and brie had only a small amount of very thin bacon, and two chunks of brie at either end instead of thinner slices down the full length. This panini was also lacking flavour. The coleslaw was the most peculiar coleslaw we have ever experienced. It was chopped into such small pieces it was almost slush. It also had a very strange flavour. It was not nice. We will not return.

Sat outside in sunshine and had delicious "small" chicken Sunday lunch, it was delicious with a great selection a of fresh vegetables and Yorkshire pudding! Just what we needed!!

The one toilet it has is so small l had great difficulty in using.

We haven't been here for a while but called in today for lunch and it was as fabulous as ever. The home made corned beef pie was delicious as was the veg and chips and served with delicious gravy. The staff couldn't be more helpful and so friendly. We also bought cakes and bread buns to take home. Won't be leaving it as long for our next visit.

I love this cafe its our local, atmosphere is lovely everyone has a natter even when they don't know you, this cafe is where all the bikers meet up and it's great to see all different bikes from mope heads to duccattis to triumphs. Food is lovely and can be a little expensive but that's a given with it being so close to the beach. Staff are friendly. If you fancy a quick cuppa on your travels then definitely try here you won't be disappointed

The food was good but unfortunetly was tainted by extremely rude service, a severe lack of menu, lack of space, and an unfriendly atmosphere. There were 2 young staff members (one making the hot drinks and the other a waitress) who were very helpful and friendly and the sole reason for the second star. The 3 elder staff members were rude, unhelp, unwelcoming, and downright judgemental! They ingored customers for 7+ minutes as they were too busy gossiping about regulars, messing up orders, or watching the traffic, one openly scoffed when asked for a simple adjustment to an order (keeping 3 disliked foods off the plate from a set menu) while ordering, and acting put out being asked what items they were currently serving as over half thier wall menu was unavailable and none of the items on thier 'todays specials' board was being served. If you'd like any kind of dessert get there before 12pm as they were sold out by 12.36pm, it's also £7.50 for a bacon sandwich for a bun with just 2 rashes in, extra if you want sauce, you were constantly dodging having hot coffees spilt over you while staff shouted 'watch it' as there is minimum space, overall the food we did manage to get was nice but we won't be going back as they seem to unwelcome anyone they don't know by name as a village regular, very dissapointed today.

Visited following a recommendation. What a shame about the service as the food was actually nice. All staff failed to crack a smile and there was a very unpleasant atmosphere. Felt like we were inconveniencing the server by placing an order, especially when I had to rethink the order as they didn’t have what I wanted. We moved to an available outdoor table which needed a clean and this seemed to annoy the server too, even though they never took a table number and just shouted out the orders from the door. The server then pointed out our table was dirty but made no effort to clean it. Really disappointed and certainly won’t go back.

Went in with my 4 year old son earlier today for some food and honestly it felt like we were an inconvenience. We waited ages to be acknowledged, and ages to be served. The older lady had no manners (no please or thankyou). Order was just dumped on plates on top if the counter no mention of the total price. Won't be back

Lovely vegetable quiche, salad and new potatoes, and healthier as no pastry! We also had pots of tea and chicken and halloumi wrap with homemade chips. All very tasty and quick service 😋 👌

Bought fresh cream cakes as a treat for my sister and brother in law. They loved them! Will definitely go back and recommend to family and friends.

Stopped off for tea and a sandwich. Can totally recommend the chicken, bacon and bbq sauce pannini. Ringtone tea so spot on.

Met a friend for lunch. Delicious coffee, friendly, professional service. All the staff were cheerful and polite, can't praise them highly enough. Food was excellent, good selection and imaginative selection of vegetarian food.

This was a pleasant setting. Coffee was ok and cake nice but staff very unfriendly and uninterested. An older staff member was totally miserable and has no customer service skills at all. Won’t be returning.

Have visited a few times this year whilst out walking and today we had the Chicken Goujon wrap, chips and salad which was absolutely delicious and also very good value for money and a very impressive portion size. .......... would highly recommend a visit for food, drinks or both.

We often pop in on a Sunday morning for cup of tea and bacon sarni before taking dogs to beach however this week we decided to try the sunday lunches and we were definitely not disappointed. Best take away lunch for Miles around and massive portion size for th £7.50 load of meat also not like most places were it's mostly veg. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back

Had coffee and cake from here today the coffee was red hot stayed hot for ages and chocolate brownie was to die

Nice little cafe great value, friendly staff, Sunday lunch very nice, for the current situation its perfect, not many café's are serving coffee or tea in actual cups or Latte glasses this cafe is. I used to go to minchellas in South Shields sea front still getting served in a take out cup and its more expensive. So I very much recommend the village cafe.
