Lovely meal at New Crown Hotel. We were served by Lucy who was attentive and pleasant throughout. Busy when we arrived but found a table - previous customers cups were taken when our drinks arrived after ordering on the app. Meals were lovely, the hot dog pizza was amazing and like nothing I’ve ever seen on a menu anywhere else. Great value for money and we had a discount code ontop of this so we took advantage of the 30% off when you sign up which made it excellent value.

Everyone who dined was disappointed and left still hungry The pizza’s were tiny and very bland The “bacon” Burger had some tiny scraps of bacon, albeit he said the burger was not too bad portion size and quality do not reflect pricing

Easy to reserve a table, which was exactly what was asked for (dog friendly, view of the TV for the match). Easy to order, good menu, food arrived promptly and was delicious.

Pub wasn’t really busy but pleasant staff Graeme and Jess were outstanding we had an issue with my partners card and they were really patient with us while we got this sorted allowed us to still enjoy our meals and drinks with a bar tab and after a little panic i found my bank card in bottom of bag and bill was cleared. I was overwhelmed with how lovely they were by letting us eat and giving us options to nip back home if needed.

Friendly and helpful staff, especially Lucy who is always smiling creating a nice atmosphere. The food is superb and ease of ordering online which is helpful to me personally, overall no complaints.

Came here with my wife and son for a bite to eat and was served by Lucie and Caitlain. And these two girls provided fantastic service. The food didn't take long to come out and was absolutely beautiful, and the atmosphere was lovely with customers coming in, many with dogs and they were just really friendly. First time we've been here but definitely won't be the last. I absolutely need to come on a Wednesday for curry and a drink. Thanks for a lovely time.

Met a couple of friends here for lunch. We all had the fish and chips. Fish was beautiful - chips were quite dry but overall meal was nice. Our meal was during the day, so it was quite quiet but still a few people in. Love how it's dog friendly, there were a few very well behaved gorgeous dogs in

Arrived to what seemed a quiet evening to start with, ordered food and drinks via the QR code on the menu. Waited for over half an hour before having to go to the bar to ask for our drinks to which I was asked what drinks we had ordered. At this point it was clear the ordering system was either not working or being ignored by the bar staff. My 3 year old daughter didn't get her drink or dinner in good time and therefore was very restless. Food was of less than average quality for pub/gastro type meals and overpriced for what is being served. Overall a poor experience and not keen to return.

meal was ok, curry bland but my issue is dogs, we sat in window where dogs were never allowed to be then surrounded by 2, another saw our faces and asked a girl who said well they normally go to a diff area, allergies and floating dog hairs are not what i want when eating, please sort designated dog areas and do signage or get staff to say something!

Love coming here as it's dog friendly and the staff and service are great.

Dog friendly pub, so attentive and extremely helpful. My dogs love Meg she was so helpful and alway Has a cuddle free for my two pooches. Dark chocolate and mint tart had an excellent presentation by Nick compliments to him who asked if everything was ok, cant wait to come back!

This is one of our favourite places to go for a meal. We regularly visit most Sundays for the lunch menu it is so lovely to eat with a view of the coastline. Served by Lucy and Meg today who are superb hostesses and cannot do enough for you.

Well, what can I say!! The New Crown and it's amazing team have done it again! This time for my daughter's 18th party! Nothing was too much trouble, all of them went above and beyond but especially Meg, Caitlain, Jordan, Christian and Charlotte!! The night was just amazing and it wouldn't have been possible without the amazing care and assistance of the staff! They're a credit to The New Crown and Marston's! Roll on our next event, which we've already booked! Wouldn't go anywhere else!

The New Crown is situated very close to the seafront in South Shields, near the end of the Great north run. It is a huge room that serves meals with a reasonable sized car park. It also has a function room. Despite being a huge pub the barmaid we saw straight away was very welcoming and directed us to the function room which has its own bar, dance floor and access to toilets. Staff were very efficient however prices of all drinks, soft or alcohol were expensive (this is the norm now). Overall we enjoyed our night but husband visited the toilets, overhead cistern with copper and mini zip ties to flush the chain! Toilet roll holder loose. Not the end of the world but don’t imagine the main pub toilets would be like this? All in all, good visit.

Come often and the food is amazing! Drinks are at a reasonable price and the service is brilliant! Particularly Lucy she is an angel. So polite and can’t do enough for you. She also always has the best sense of humour.

Nice and relaxing place really enjoyed our visit.

The menu was quite substantial to choose from. The food was very tasty and service was quite quick. The bar staff are very pleasant. My son would've liked a bigger portion, but I thought the portion size was just right, enabling me to have dessert which was equally tasty. We got a window seat which meant we had a lovely view of South Shields coast too.I would recommend eating here

We were able to have the full day to set up the room for the night wich was amazing, Meg the manager helped with the entire room and nothing was an issue. The night itself went without any issues and the bar staff were friendly and extremely helpful if I needed anything ( plates, spoons etc). We went down the next morning to clear the last of the party bits away and Meg and her staff had already done it for us. I would highly recommend booking The New Crown function room to anyone. Me and my 95 year old mum had a great meal served by Jordan and Meg and cooked by Caitlain and Paul I say that because the lasagne I had is the best I have had since being in Sorrento approx 30 years ago.

Sunday lunch...very disappointed. Tinned mushy red Cabbage, deep fried frozen roast potatoes, Bland rubbery beef, thin gravy ...was not nice at all. Over priced

For the 2nd time in the last 10 days we visited the New Crown for an evening meal, encouraged by your 30% off vouchers. As last week the meals wete excellent. I had Rump Steak and my wife had Hunters Chicken.

Amazing pub lunch on a gloomy Monday lunch time. Family of 3. Very friendly welcome from our server Kay. I ordered a steak with was cooked absolutely perfectly and seasoned with perfection. The wife had tikka masala which smelled delicious! Our chef was a man called Nick and we will absolutely be returning again.

Just popped in for a drink .it was early in the afternoon. Not a lot of people around but the meals looked ok

Absolutely lovely, Lucy and Kay were amazing. Lots of places to sit inside and out. Food brought to the table, and very quick service (Lucy and Kay were fast with the food and is very nice). Food was amazing and would recommend the chocolate brownies for desert. Very clean and very spacious. Can get crowed on weekends and summers but people are friendly. Will be coming again 10/10

Been a while since we ate out on a school night, was worth the wait, Lovely meals, orders taken and served by Lucy and Kay. Nice to see friendly face's serving us all. Food was spot on, all promptly served at the table, especially the delicious sweets. Nice couple of drinks to wash the food down.
