Food was good hot good portion size childrens menu was a good size Our server Christey was lovely really helpful friendly patient with us because we had a large order (12 people). Atmosphere was nice lively and fun. I woulf recommend this pub for a nice meal. There is one issue it is a dog friendly pub which was clearly signed the problem was the dogs were allowed in the childrens area where food was being eaten

We come here often for the footy , always a good atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon. Can’t wait for the season to start again.

Very friendly, very reasonably priced drinks and plenty space. Loads of TVs for sport including one in the beer garden. A shields classic

Passing through on our way to North Shields. First time in here. 2 cocktails were great, barman nothing but helpful even carried our drinks. We’ll be back.

Great to see 3 staff working the bar on a Thursday. Always trying their best but this was easy for lads. We’ll done keep it up. Drinks and bait both fantastic as always.

We came in on Wednesday when it was very busy without booking a table, there was 9 of us and the blonde manager on shift sorted us a table and helped with our group on vouchers. The food was gorgeous and service was great! We will be coming back

Had my dog there today,because i was a seldom customer the bar staff choose to ignore me and served me last,,be keeping clear of your apparently dog friendly pub in future,

Great pub but sometimes seriously under staffed hopefully will get better.

Came to the county for my dinner the other day, had a few pints and the curry house feast and some spicey dirty fries, I have to say it was one of the best meals I've had in South shields. The staff here are always amazing and do their best to make sure every visit is amazing. I can't recommend the county enough.

Great beer garden with parking and seating area dog friendly. Go into main bar area to get menu. Once agreed submitted order were we didn’t have to wait long. Food arrived with no cutlery or compliments so back into bar to ask. He forgot but came out with them leaving food going cold. Food itself was Clicken tikka skewers that were overcooked dry with the rice that luke warm and tasteless. Pity

Best Carling in South Shields and the staff are so welcoming. This is my local pub! Recommend to everyone ! Great on weekends too.

Had chicken pie, ok crust to thick to my taste, but everything else good, wife thoroughly enjoyed her chicken tikke

There’s not many pubs in shields where you are able to watch different matches at the same time. Great for the lads on a match day

Came for dinner and got the tandoori skewers and the classic mixed grill. Food was great and the staff were polite. Busy but a great atmosphere. We’ll be back over the weekend.

Attended this business for my lunch and a few drinks the staff were amazing the food was fantastic and the service was out of this world, couldn't recommend another pub in South shields.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch on the website and when we got there I was told they don’t serve Sunday lunch, very strange! Anyway opted for a meal from the menu, fish and chips and scampi and chips, all I can say it was definitely not worth the 20 minute wait. The fish was tiny and had a strange texture and taste, about 12 chips and a spoonful of peas the scampi was the same. The little dog at the next table got most of it. Very disappointing as the meals used to be lovely.

Didn't eat here, just came for drinks. Great service from friendly staff. Affordable prices too - definitely recommend

Great food service a tad slow ( food cooked fresh to order) and the atmosphere isn't great if you go on a Sunday afternoon and the football's on ( all 8 tvs showing football isn't great if your out with the wife )

Great spot for sport , We come here often and watch the footy. Couldn’t get my sizzler app to work but manager and other young lad got it sorted. Always a great night in here.

I booked a table that day very easy. ordered meal waited 35mins a bit to long but was told they had ran out of pulled turkey for my burger but asked if pulled pork was ok we said yes . enjoyed the meals they were hot and plenty of chips. would come back again. we had 33% off offer so was well pleased with bill .and we now have a £5 voucher for next time. well worth it

First time at the county on Thursday night for us, the pub was so busy we nearly didn’t get a seat. Bar man was on his own but was nothing but apologetic and quick to try get the queue down. Ordered food and have no complaints. Well done to the lad his service was excellent, You’ll definitely be seeing us again soon. Tony.

All the locals always have always enjoyed The County. Staff are fantastic and they host brilliant functions. Staff are great, especially Amelia, Ian and Scott. Scott hosts a great quiz on a Tuesday night

Gemma served us for our visit today and as usual great service from the staff at the county and we had some nibbles from the restaurant whose chef was Kayleigh. Excellent afternoon in a real friendly pub we visit regular, thanks.

Great service today from the bar staff and I orderd a chicken salad which looked absolutely amazing and tasted incredible done by chef kayleigh. I will definitely be back to eat hear again. Really good for people like me doing a health kick 🙂

This was a lunch time visit with a good show of customers. Staff both bar and floor were very attentive and welcoming making sure we had enough time to settle and read the menu. Great service as didn’t wait long before the starters arrived Hunters chicken nachos & chicken wings to share. Full of taste and flavour. The mains were just as good as the 8oz streak was cooked to perfection and the chicken skewers were top dollar. I would recommend this pub for good value food with no conplaints. Well done.

We booked Christmas dinner worth £49.99 per person. The quality of the food was underwhelming. For starter we ordered Prawn Salad, and it was just few bits of prawn(smallest type of prawn was served), Main Course was okey(Turkey and Beef Ribs) but the vegetables was overcooked and only few stalks of veggies was served. Furthermore, the dessert was a Christmas Pudding, and it was the tinniest portion and the amount of custard was about 1 tablespoon. It was diabolical. If you're going to book a Christmas Dinner at this Pub, please just avoid this pub. Totally waste of money.

Great staff and greater food and drink!

We had an issue with the app upon payment. The staff went above and beyond in order to help rectify the issue. I have seldom experienced fantastic customer service of this level in a pub before. The pub environment was warm and welcoming, the food was very nice but it was the staff who elevated our experience beyond expectations.

Brilliant pub.. Especially if you want great food.. Lovely interior and friendly atmosphere.. Good for sports with plenty of screens.. Bingo nights and a band on the last weekend of every month.. Fab place

Meal was hot. Cooked lovely, staff are helpful, enjoyed our visit.

Friendly welcome from barman, he explained there was a slight delay in taking food orders, because of a kitchen problem. We were quite happy to wait, which turned out to be very short time. Ordering process was easy, and food arrived shortly after.

One of the best Pubs in Shields,

Food is generic pub grub, it’s cheapish and of alright quality, don’t expect anything more and you’ll be generally pleased. BBQ sauce is a bit TOO sweet and is overpowering quickly. But overall, if you’re after a nice quick cheaper meal, it’s always a good shout. Beers are always decent though! Cocktail offer is great value for money also, the Long Island ice tea packs one hell of a punch

Just went here for a wake so didn't socialize just amongst own company

Staff were very attentive, meal was really good, the only thing I can stay to improve on is more staff as we walked round the pub as didn't know where to go and there was only 1 bar staff on to find out where we were to go

I'm quite picky with the food but I should admit that I ate extraordinary good here. The beef burgers were high quality beef meat, perfect chips and the size was more than reasonable. It's not cheap, but I had an excellent lunch. Even when the pub was really busy on Sunday and they were clearly understaffed, The service was quick and efficient. I'll back again definitely

Love a sizzling pub but this is my favourite well worth a visit

Today we order our lunch via Just Eat, the food was amazing, the presentation and quality was fantastic, I can honestly say it was the best burger I have ever tasted. Special thanks to the Chef Amelia, the food in which you prepared and what we received was lovely. This was a take-out and not what we expected. We will most definitely be returning and will recommend this to our clients and colleagues.
