It is always a pleasure walking into Shergills, Andy, the owner, and all the staff. Go that one step further with the service and food, and they do the ORIGINAL TRADITIONAL DONNER KEBABS , .

Shergills have been good each time we’ve used them. Using their own site we saved on not using an Eat app. Kept informed via email is great and delivery was quick. Chefs kebab, chips, garlic and chilli dips were plentiful (at least could have served 4!) and taste was spot on

1st time customer and I'll be back. Delicious fish. Freshly cooked. If anything, the portion of chips was too big! Shared 1 portion between two of us and there was still some left over

We’d decided on a takeaway for lunch after visiting the local bakery. Shergills was the closest and after discussing it (last time we’d been the chips seemed to have been standing for ages) we decided to give it another go. Owner was polite, chips (mountains for 2 ) were freshly cooked, lots of batter and a huge fish and sausage. Glad we give them another go. 5 star

Ordered for pick up can't even remember after 10 mins avoid this place food wasn't ready can't remember there said never seen 5 people confused at one time

Lovely garlic dog enjoyed it very much I got a rash HELLO TERENCE then I took Audrey a 12 inch back on the sledge some tasty food

Ordered a mixed rap and was not impressed come with just chicken in a pitta bread and there was hardly any of that will not be going back there didn't get what I ordered used to be good but went down hill

We use this chippy on a regular basis, not had a bad meal yet. Got my kebab order wrong once but everyone makes mistakes. We do always collect though so can't comment on delivery's

Go here quite a bit as 1 of my local takeaways and normally spot on...tonight was a let down ucame home and whole kebab and chips was covered in chilli when in past sauce always comes seperate and funny thing is it did come seperate 2 tubs of chilli and curry ordered for my daughter so she couldn't touch it as doesnt eat chilli...to be fair they said they would make me another 1 but by this time the bairm was showered and in jarmas so don't feel like why we should have to get dressed n head down woulf have been nice for them to drop it off shame

We know the chips from here were lovely but we tried the pizza (half and half) and a dinner kebab. We were really happy with the choice. The dough of the base is lovely and soft, the toppings were great and kebab meat tasty. Yes, chips, spot on.

Garlic is from a pound bottle.... Always get orders wrong and food is lackluster. Worst burgers in shields. No effort in the food at High prices!

Many years ago, Shergills was an old fashioned fish and chip shop, plain good old British food. Now most takeaways have had to do a diverse range of cuisines, we decided to go old school and choose a fish, chips and battered sausage for supper as opposed to a pizza. Delivery was on time, we ordered through their own website which kept you up to date as to what was happening. The chips, were copious and really tasty, the sausage great but I wasn’t a fan of the batter per se. Still it was nice overall.

I order from here a lot or send my brother. Fish & chips from here! The best curry sauce from a chippy & garlic & chilli is nice to. Chips always have a crunch to them but not too crispy proper chips👌Pizzas and wraps are al ways delicious to!! Order from here a lot would definitely recommend.

Great food best pizzas had in long time chicken Kiev was spot on and the mixed kebabs are amazing 10/10 will defo be back favourite place from now on

Heard this was the place for garlic for dogs. Kris Tiffin mentioned tubs were a little small to dip his nuts in but apart from that no complaints.

Fish and chips best I have had and pizzas were perfect in my 5year olds worst this is so tasty definitely be back and only waited half hour for delivery driver was lovely too

1st time visit last for fish and chips and curry sauce . I waited for the food to be cooked from fresh less than 10 minutes and the food was lovely . Very pleasant staff also . Would recommend 👌

Came across this fish shop on just eat and thought i would give it a try. Placed my order waited about 10mins just eat even called the restaurant for them just to cancel my order completely... this is not good service at all and i won't be returning!

Won't ever return to Jins again! Chips were absolutely disgusting all scraggy. Ordered chicken kebab and got chicken smothered in a tikka paste. Rang and complained and was offered a refund on the kebab. Told her not to bother as I won't be returning.Avoid !!!

Five star first visit BUT went today and would not give it one star soggy batter on the fish not good 30-07 -2021

The cod was alright but soaked in grease. The chips weren't anywhere near up to scratch. Decide for yourself but I think your money is better off spent elsewhere.

Decent food, good value and always with a smile. Recommended.

Ordered kebab ,pizza, and chips. Delivery a little late but bad weather with snow and ice. Food was all very tasty and hot. The chips were so tasty , the best iv had for years..

This is the biggest disspointment of any fish and chip shop in the South tyneside area, sold me rotten soggy inedible fish, was so dissapointed wouldnt change it or make it right 0 customer service, really wanted it to be A1 fish and chippy more like -10

Food is awful from here. Chips are just greasy, kebab meat is also dripping in grease and cut as thick as a curb, pizza i got was bland and freezing cold and the sauces are literally the worst sauces in the whole of south shields. Garlic sauce doesnt even taste of garlic, its just a white thick sauce and the chilli sauce is just red juice out the peeled plum tomatoes with a couple of seeds in it. Wont be wasting my money here no more. The only positive was the delivery. Driver was spot on and food was on time.

Wasn't very impressed, chips very hard and crispy and pizza was basic, Wouldn't rush back. Most went in the bin.

Had fish and chips it was absolutely amazing So nice to taste good food.

We've had pizza, garlic bread and chips a few times from here. Lovely fresh ingredients used on the pizza and the chips are the best! Chips are veggie friendly too which is a bonus for us as a family of vegetarians and definitely NOT frozen as claimed in another review.

Not the best all tasted frozen. Seems funny the other two reviewers seemed to have tasted everything? Would give this one a miss. Chips dry etc.

Fish - very good size, nice light crisp batter, not too thick and soggy. Donner meat - actually tasty, not cheaper standard stuff. Chips (small or large) are cooked well and always enjoyed Chicken - lush Tikka - also lush. Fresh & restaurant quality not bought in frozen stuff. Kebab wraps are a good size. My usually choice is the Jins special mixed kebab. Even more flavour with the additional ingredients, I get mine mild but does also come more spicey. Always friendly staff who pride themselves on good food and good service. Clean shop. I've visited jins more regularly than any other takeaway since it opened!

We were 1st time customers and we thoroughly enjoyed all the food we ordered!!! Service excellent, Food AMAZING and Great prices. Just beyond super Impressed with our new chip shop round the corner!!! 100% future and loyal customers!!! chips were beautiful, batter crisp and tasty, fish burger beautifully cooked and not greasy, the pizza's were cooked to perfection and the just amazing pizza's, we will remain permanent customers if they keep to this standard!!! couldn't recommend it more!!
