We arrived for breakfast at 10am Sunday & no sign of life at all. Maybe update your opening times on Tripadvisor. Food could very well be delicious …. We’ll never know 🥺

Lovely small restaurant attached to Cookie Jar hotel. Great find. Lovely food, well presented. Staff were lovely, friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend

BEWARE of overcharging at this shop. They don’t take cash, a detail you only find out when you are at the till, and was then overcharged by 75% on the card machine. As I wasn’t offered a receipt this fact wasn’t obvious until I was in an area where there was phone reception. Two trips back to the shop have failed to recoup the money and now no one is answering the mobile number I was given. Poor experience all round.

We had high expectations as family had been pre-covid and said it was great. We booked well ahead, when we arrive we did to like the location of the table offered, next to the reception desk so would have been too busy in that area. We asked for a window seat but had been told these were all pre-booked (no-one said you could prebook these when we booked). We were show another table which was good. The setting is unique, the name Treehouse is perfect, it does however need a little love as with some extra touches it could be amazing. I agree with other posters that in winter it would be great with fires burning. Staff were quite cold and disengaged apart from a gentleman who I think may have been the Manager, he was smiley and friendly. We enjoyed the food, simple basic pub style food but for a quick lunch it was OK

We arrival at The Shepherds Rest shown to our room by a member of staff, just matter of fact, no conversation, didn’t ask how we were or about our journey or offer to help with bags etc. Bedroom very tired, creaky floor boards and beds, not very clean floor, there was a previous customers used tissue down the side of the bed, the beds had no headboards. The bedding and towels were changed during our stay. Bathroom very tired, plug didn’t fit in the sink and we had problems turning the light on and off. The over bath shower worked well and was hot. The rooms were cold, we asked several times about getting the heating turned on but the radiators didn’t warm up for long, the thermostat is in the bar, why should we have to keep on asking. We did try the food on our first night, we were given dried up chips and lasagna, no flavour, never again it was the worst meal we had anywhere during our week in Northumbria We had breakfast on our first morning, this was ok. We felt as though we were intruders, an inconvenience, there was no interest show in us at all during our stay The Shepherds Rest is a local drinkers pub not welcoming B&B.

Great family day out A really good mix of things to entertain children (soap making, crafts, Harry Potter broomstick flying and shows) and adults (state rooms, towers and grounds). The annual season pass makes it a reasonably priced attraction. Good food options for lunch or space for picnics

The Red Lion Inn is right in the centre of the Village and there’s parking all along the street. There isn’t a reception desk per se but we were shown to our room by a lady from behind the bar. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was cosy and very comfortable. Great King size bed. TV with Netflix (although I’d have preferred a slightly larger TV 😂). Large walk in shower, decent pressure and hot water. Fluffy white towels too. Guest WiFi is also included. Our room was directly above a little walkway and you could hear the clientele from our window, but it wasn’t an issue. We had a wood fired pizza from the outdoor pizza oven. Very nice. You pre order your breakfast before you go to bed. Breakfast was tasty. It’s served in quite a tight time frame 08.30-09.15. I wish there had been some music on when we got there though…all I could hear was people chewing, crunching and swallowing. So a little musical background noise would’ve been a welcome distraction. Although the music was on when we left the breakfast room. Would definitely go back. Alnmouth is a beautiful little village with a gorgeous coastal walk.

Booked a table for a Sunday lunch while in the area and have to say it was the worst meal we have had for a long time. The Sunday lunch was abysmal. The meat was tough, the vegetables were rock hard, not "Al dente".Potato's tasted like last weeks. There was cross contamination whilst serving meat,ie chef using same knife and serving utensils between pork and beef. The pan seared chicken supreme was bland, very little chicken,no flavour at all. The children's meatballs was inedible. The place itself was lovely and could be a super venue.such a disappointment and needs a major shake up.

I visited this cosy coastal pub with friends based on a recommendation by a local we met at sunset on Boulmer beach! I'm pleased we followed his advice as we found the pubs pictured barmaid professionally courteous & welcoming & my Coors beer was most refreshing too!

Dreadful service, below average food, but nice outdoor seating looking at the golf course and sand dunes. Neighbouring tables were complaining as well. Take a tip from us, if you want a coffee then ask for a filter coffee....it's too long a story to explain here!

Disgraceful. Couldn't understand the man in the 'reception', looked like a poor quality Indian restaurant. Graffiti on the door on 1st floor. Utterly ghastly so we left without unpacking and forfeited our money as we couldn't face staying in such a dump, and they have the nerve to charge £££ for breakfast.
