I was recommended the Bari Tea Brewery by a friend and was not disappointed. The range of teas on offer was vast with many interesting flavours! I had the green ginger tea with a scone which was freshly baked and was very tasty! Service was very good and all the staff very friendly.

Came to try the restaurant. Upon arrival at 7pm the place was empty with only one customer. We asked if they had tables available for two. They said no and that were extremely busy and wouldn’t take walk ins due to demand of the restaurant. I looked around a bit confused due to emptiness. I asked is it possible to be seated before any book ins came as we would only be quick. They said no and that they had no bookings. Me and my partner were left feeling confused and disappointed. The staff just stared at us till we left. They lost out on custom and service that night. How disappointing. I would have understood if busy.

Popped into Melvyn’s for a quick bite at lunch time. We had soup and a toastie and eggs Benedict. The food was outstanding and the service exemplary. Having eggs Benedict on a cheese scone is an inspired twist on a classic and I’ll be trying to replicate at home. Great flat white too. We’ll be back for sure.

We popped in for a coffee & something sweet. The cafe is dog friendly, in a separate area, which is good as not everyone likes dogs. The staff were lovely, polite & attentive. We only had a cup of tea & a tea cake but both were good. The tables had a selection of card games, which we thought was a lovely idea. We came home & bought one of the games for a Christmas gift. We will pop in again next time we are in Alnwick & try something from their menu.

We had lunch after a highly enjoyable walk round the gardens, and what a pleasure it was. Everything we had was beautifully served and of the highest quality. We were blown away with the service and food quality and all at such competitive prices. We would highly recommend.

We were looking for a restaurant that served fresh, home cooked style meals since we had been eating restaurant style food for the past week while on holiday here. This place did not disappoint. The food was amazing, the staff friendly and the decor is beautiful! Highly recommend the warm Mediterranean salad with chicken.

Popped in for lunch on a day over to Lindisfarne. Despite advertising that they cater for gluten free, a disappointing menu. When I asked at the bar if they do anything gluten free, the barman said that anything gluten free will have GF after it on menu, but they can do any sandwich with gluten free bread. There were no meals suitable on menu, so I went back to bar and asked if their spread was dairy free. Barmaid gives a big sigh and goes to check. Comes back to say yes it is, what do you want- like it was a big inconvenience for her. It’s not my husbands fault that he has allergies. Such attitude makes me wonder how anyone goes back here. Sarnie was ok but they didnt seem to do it separate to normal food as hubby found a bit of grated cheese attached to his bread. If he hadn’t spotted it, he would have been I’ll. overpriced too as the bread was just normal sliced bread. WONT BE GOING BACK!

Came here for lunch with family. Staff were friendly but food left much to be desired. Mushrooms on toast were almost £8.00 and consisted of four mushrooms on two slices of unbuttered white toast. No seasonings or flavours. Very poor value for money. Rest of the food was bang average.

Had an unappetising club sandwich made with thin cheap brown bread, the chicken was boiled to death and had no taste at all. I gave the chicken to my husband to soak in the gravy of his chicken pie. How can anybody mess up making a sandwich? I noticed the couple beside us had ordered sandwiches which were on good quality brown bloomer bread which is what I had ordered as stated on the menu. I asked staff member why I had below standard bread for my sandwich whereas the couple had decent bloomer bread. She apologised and that was it. When it came to paying, I was given the bill with an opportunity to add a gratuity. I informed the same staff member that I was not happy with the meal, and therefore would not be leaving a tip. She then replied that I had eaten everything and she could not give me money off. I did not want any money off the meal, just wanted to know why the difference in bread, seeing all sandwiches were the same price. I was offended by her remark. I have never asked for money off a meal, ever. I thanked her for the insult and walked out. I would never set foot in Hardy's Bistro again. The décor is lovely, the food and staff are not.
