Best Greggs in Durham, really helpful and friendly staff, nothing is too much bother, shop is clean and tidy, and food is delish.

Well we have been here loads of times and has always been good. Went today Fri 29th March 2024, Ok it’s Good Friday but you would think they would be prepared. After a bit of a wait watching people get served that came in after us, a waitress came over and took our order but there was only small fish and no large, well call me a conspiracy theorist but the small fish was half a large fish so where were they getting the small fish from 🤔. It was plain to see that it was all to do with money as the small fish was £7 something and the large was £12 odd… so along came our meals and it was ridiculous a bit of fish 4” x 6” and about 15 chips if that. Well I’m sorry but we won’t be back ever for the sake of making an extra few quid you’ve lost two regulars… plus gave the girl a £5 tip before we got the food and she didn’t even say thanks! Shame on you

The location of this hotel is excellent if arriving by train, being located right opposite the station approach, great if you’re arriving by train and only a short walk from the centre of Durham. The hotel were happy to store our bags free of charge after check-out until our train later in the day, a really useful facility and a good saving compared to other luggage storage locations. All the staff were very friendly, chatty, welcoming and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Room at the back was quiet with little road noise or noise from the bar and trains on viaduct above were not noticeable. Only negative was that some of the carpets etc were a bit worn, but still functional and slight noise from the extractor at the next door pizza takeaway. Overall a nice stay and it is clear the staff try their hardest to ensure customers have a good stay.

It needs o good clean! Dirty venue- seating, carpet, walls. As for the ladies toilet it was horrid. The muck on top of the radiator, panelling coming off the wall, dodgy toilet seats and locks. I do not recommend, they had a meal menu which looked good but with the overall cleanliness of the place I didn’t want to try it.

Went there early afternoon on the Tuesday. Game of pool and a Guinnessbeing my guilty pleasure. Prity empty but another couple followed us in and started playing pool. Got our drinks and sat down to wait for the game to finish when the music was for some reason turned up so high I couldn't hear myself think. I don't think there interested in customers and use this ploy to get rid of them. It worked! Everyone left.

We went for an afternoon tea and a spa day at Raddison Blu Hotel, and as always, had been a great experience. They refurbished the restaurant, and it looks so great. The spa day was really nice, too. Shout out to the massage therapists Clare L and Janine, who were very good. Ladies, you made our day! Thank you!! ❤️
