Staff always friendly and happy to help. Food is nice and relatively reasonably priced, but drinks can be expensive. Portion sizes are normally too large, so go in with a good appetite. Good selection of vendors but some seem to be closed on certain days. Can get very busy at weekends but quieter during the week. Great views of Cathedral, especially if sat outside. Overall, recommended!

Visited on a Friday evening, which was pretty quiet. We stood and waited a while to be seated before we decided to ask at the bar if we could just sit in one of the many empty tables, we were then told we had to go back and wait at the door to be seated. The staff appeared uninterested. I love the idea of this place, it’s like a little community of food and drink venders, which is ideal if you all fancy something different to eat. We opted for some loaded fries and mac n cheese bites from the La Familia stand and were a little underwhelmed. They were ok, but nothing to rave about, all felt a bit over cooked. However, the guy who served us was super nice. Not sure I would be in a hurry to return.

The Food Pit is basically a venue that hosts several smaller independent food sellers. We chose this as it gave us a bit of choice with the kids. We were shown to a table and was told how it all worked. Menu has all the food in it, and then you order at the ones that you want. We ordered from two places and then drinks from the bar, everything almost turned up at the same time - although we understood there was a chance of some food being ready before others...! The food I had was nice (Budapest Parmo). It was all fairly easy going, which again made it great with the kids as we were not worrying about them upsetting other customers by being loud etc. The bar also had a good selection of drinks including cocktails. We all enjoyed the visit and would come again.

Surprise bag via TGTG from Grill'n'Graze, ie food that would otherwise be thrown away. Said to contain £12's worth of food at a cost of £4. It contained 1 hotdog, a few chips and a small amount of pasta. If this is what you would normally be charged £12 for then it is a complete ripoff. It is not even worth the £4 I paid. I'm furious. Family of four ordered 4 meals, 3 where ok. I ordered from the Greek vendor, grilled Halloumi Pita, this came ( 20 minutes wait, so most of my family were half way through their meal) out covered in cayenne Pepper and there was O mentioned of this on the menu. I took a bite but really struggled and took it back, she said "that's your choice if you don't like it" I stated I was very sensitive to spice and allergic to Nutmeg. I did not declare as there was no mention of spice/ nutmeg on the menu and seemed bland and simple. She proceeded to tell me the cayenne pepper is in the Pita, Halloumi and sauce too, so surely this should be listed as a main ingredient well apparently not! I asked for a refund which she agreed to and said if I had declared my allergy ( even if the food may not have the allergens in it)and she had known about it they would of done it plain, which I accepted and she accepted the ingredient should be listed if it is on the meal. All fine then? Well no, I sat down and we all wanted a dessert so went to order waffles and declared my allergy for them to refuse service, a manager came to rudely tell me she will not serve me if I have an allergy and had a refund from another vendor ( remember refunded as it was covered in an ingredient not listed) and could not be certain of cross contamination due to a shared kitchen! So who was lying then either you do cater for allergy's or you don't. Or I was being punished for getting 9 pound refunded after spending 30 pound plus on the other meals. They actually still expected us to buy waffles for my kids after that, erm no we left. I felt ashamed for asking for a refund, which I wouldn't have had to do if the menu stated spice in the first place, to be told to declare the allergy no matter what I ordered and then to be refused service for having an allergy. This place should be reported to food standards! Don't go here.

Basically it's a store with different vendors inside with seating in the center of the store. You wait to be seated but once you have a table you go up and order from whatever vendor takes your fancy and pay. You'll be given an electronic buzzer to take back to your table and once it goes off you take it back to the vendor and will be given your food. We opted for the parmo 😋 and then some milkshakes.

Used to like this place but it’s not great for allergies. What’s the point of having a gluten free tag on the menus and then not applying it to anything? The get out clause of “talk to our staff” isn’t a solution. Many of us don’t want to have a little meeting before ordering something. Just have a gf menu with modified versions or list what’s gf on the menu. It’s not difficult to do that. When you go abroad it’s incredibly common. We’re just useless at it in Durham

We loved the look of the place and the guy that took us to our table was great. The app was taking too long so we went and ordered at the front desks which was much quicker. We ordered two tacos, a burrito and a smash burger with fries. To be honest, everything was tasteless, which was upsetting as we were starving and really liked the idea of this one restaurant having numerous different kitchens each serving different types of food. But sadly, my tacos had very little flavour and even the smash burger was very boring and tasteless. My wife's burrito was medium spiced but still had no flavour, the fries that came with the burger were also bland and a little stale tasting. Whilst eating our disappointing meal I got up to order drinks, there were two women behind the bar serving and the woman in front of me had an order of 4 drinks or so. I waited and watched as 2 people took ages to make 4 drinks and even when they were finished they didn't acknowledge me and continued to make drinks for people that had ordered through the app, I had been waiting that long that I texted my wife and told her to download the app, register and order the drinks through that instead. I continued to stand and wait at the bar whilst she ordered the drinks thinking that maybe the bar staff would be quicker than my wife with the app, they weren't. I sat back down to continue my now cold food. We tried to redeem the day by ordering some cookie dough and ice cream but it too was really tasteless. Such a shame as this place has amazing potential

Decided to try here with family sat 16th sept. We ordered, Mac and cheese bowl and wings from the grill place, a burger and a parmo from the parmo place. Now I know I'm pretty spoilt as my hubby is a street food chef but The Mac and cheese honestly was the blandest thing I think I've ever had. It was strange. There was literally no flavour at all! The portion size is big but there was honestly no taste. Even after 3 sachets of salt and pepper so this was left. The chicken meat on the wings were dry but the Korean sauce on them was really nice. The burger was so tough and rubbery. I had to spit it out as it was like biting through leather. Then we get to the parmo. We ordered a one with Mediterranean sauce etc. I've honestly never tasted anything so vile in my life. It literally made me vomit. The sauce is a jar of what tastes like 5p Bolognese sauce that the local shop is selling as it's out.of date etc. The chicken was ok but the bechemel sauce and the Mediterranean one was vile. I threw up on my way to the bathroom it was that awful. Now this is just my opinion. There were plenty others in there that seemed to be really enjoying the food but unfortunately our whole table did not enjoy ours in the slightest. It's a really good idea and a really good atmosphere etc and great to have a choice of places to eat within the restaurant. That's what drew us in but unfortunately I won't be returning for the parmo ot Mac and cheese. Maybe would try the Greek and mexican though.

Benches are a nightmare to share for getting in and out easily which you have to do to collect your food (buzzer system rather than brought to table as website suggests). Prices are a little expensive for street food. Especially the Thai vendor which was £13 for a chicken chow mein or rice bowl. Drinks expensive. We did have a lovely waffle which was quite good value for money as was big enough to share for 7.50. Really enjoyed it, very big choice of foods. App not so good though, have to order everything separately and it kept crashing. Everything was quick though

Had some great food here. Spoilt for choice as there are different vendors along with a bar, so everyone should be pleased with the options available.

The food was excellent. The choices were amazing. I had Thai food and loved it. I would certainly recommend this place for the view, the service and the choices of food.

Lovely little food court with a bar and great atmosphere. I had the chicken and chorizo jambalaya from Holy Guacomoly - delicious! Everything worked in the dish and it was huuuuge. When we visit Durham again I’ll be sure to try some of the other stalls also.

Stopped here after a trip to Newcastle on the way back to the midlands. The pub is easy to find, checked in really easy with the lady behind the bar who was really helpful and welcoming. She gave us a menu to take to our room so we could see if we were going to eat there. The room was nice, cozy and clean. Our room was facing the front and the traffic noise was not a problem. The bed was comfortable and we could not hear anything from the pub below. We decided to eat here and whilst not everything was available what we did have was really nice very filling and cooked really well. The staff were really friendly and stopped to have a chat with us whilst we were in the pub. The drinks were poured perfectly and I would say they know how to pour a good Guinness. The girl they had in singing was really good and added to the atmosphere.Would recommend this pub as a place to stay and eat in and we will be back.

We attended for the Halloween spooktacula event, a wonderful atmosphere, brilliant staff. I was served by Shellby and Michaela most of the time we were there, both members of staff were extremely good with my daughter who even won the pumpkin competition while we were there for the event. Mel was brilliant as well, even though she runs the pub she always made time to speak with us and other guests. Our food was great, managing to even be on time despite how busy the place was we were never left waiting long. My daughter is now absolutely obsessed with mac and cheese!
