One of the worst meals we’ve ever had! The waiter greeted us in the most unwelcoming manner, no smile, no hello; threw down the menus on the table and then abruptly told us no chicken was available if we chose from the Sunday menu and walked off. The guests on the table beside us looked shocked at how we were treated. We almost walked out at that point without ordering a thing. We should have trusted our instincts and left when we had the chance. We ordered some ribs and steak. Big mistake! The ribs were dry, lacked flavour and a small pot of sad looking bbq sauce accompanied the dried up ribs. The steak sadly lacked flavour too! I make a better steak at home. Straws for the drinks were pitiful! They didn’t even touch the bottom of the glass. Halfway through the meal we decided enough was enough and we asked for the bill before we had even finished our meal. It’s fair to say we won’t ever be returning due to the utterly disappointing meal and experience. Some customer service training is much needed in this venue. Enter at your own risk!!

We had a fantastic breakfast here before the Great North Run. The team couldn’t do enough for us and were very pleasant and welcoming. Food was cooked to order and all you can eat and there’s loads of choice. Would definitely recommend. Staff really did go above and beyond for us.

The team here are fantastic, so friendly and welcoming when we went in for breakfast and really went out of their way to help me after travelling home and leaving some lost property behind. We also had a really nice breakfast that was freshly cooked to order and all you can eat! Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Breakfast both days was really good food great and John and Gemma were great interactive with my 1 1/2 year old, helped my wife out when she was on her own. Generally a service with a smile

Been loads of times as a work lunch, menu changes several times over the last couple of years. Service always good for what it is. Food has varied but usual good for the price.

I regularly come here for breakfast with family or friends. Staff are lovely, friendly and always happy to help. Food is spot on and price is great too.

Went for breakfast last weekend with friends and as always it is fantastic. £10.99 for an all you can eat breakfast + 2 children under 15 eat free. You can't get that anywhere nowadays. Food is cooked fresh to order (poached eggs are great). Kids love it as pancakes, pastries and of course nutella. Unlimited teas and coffees. Service from staff is always fab, it is always busy but they always stop to say hi.

Great food, very good deal! Evening set: 2 courses (starter and main or main and dessert) plus a drink for only £17.99. I took Cheesy Potato Dippers as a starter, the chips were really good. I took Baconeater Burger for main, also really good, the french fries that came with it were ok. My friend took Caramel Apple Betty for dessert, it didn’t look good, but I tried and it was tasty. The place looks nice, has a nice garden, but unfortunately it was too cold for us (Yugoslavs) to sit outside. Will try it next time, hopefully.

Lovely Sunday lunch would recommend

Use Beefeater regularly, was in the area so pinged into Google for the nearest. Pleasant surroundings and easy parking like most others. As usual for beefeater the food was great but the service was so slow. I appreciate a Saturday night is always busy and the staff looked exhausted, but maybe they need more front of house staff if that's the case. Took ages to get drinks and even longer for the food. In the end we skipped desert for the kids meal as everything took so long. Would come again but not on a weekend evening.

Been here on a number of occasions and never been disappointed. Great range of options for food. I had steak on this visit which was cooked to perfection, Service spot on…staff are very professional and extremely helpful as well as being really polite. Would definitely recommend.

Nice clean pub. Decent menu choice. Not great in terms of service and knowledge of what was in stock etc. To cut a long story short I ended up having to make a different meal choice after being told one option was unavailable, only to then find out that my original choice was in fact available. No effort made by any staff to try to rectify this for me. Alternative choice in food that I made was a little underwhelming.

Went in for a family meal ( 2 adults 1 child ), my wife's order arrived wrong, my daughter's order turned up with missing items, also my order turned up with items missing. Food was just warm, they failed to rectify my wife's order ( not a happy wife ). Not worth the effort to come no wonder it's quite!!!

Went here for our teas last Friday. The food and drinks were fabulous, especially the sirloin steak. The quality of the sirloin steak was the best I've had and cooked to perfection. We were served by Craig who was very friendly and down to earth and made us all feel very comfortable. We will certainly return for food and drinks.

We have been several times now. The staff are great and there are excellent deals on the main meals if you are a loyalty member. Steak cooked to our liking. I was asked on entry about allergies and was given a sheet to look through. The Manager, Andrew was very helpful.

Visited on a Saturday evening. Shown straight to a table. Our server was Andrew, he was fantastic, lovely and friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Our food was really nice, plenty of vegan friendly dishes. Dessert was especially good and reasonably priced too.

Come for breakfast regularly. Always 5* service and food. Served by John today and he couldn’t have been more helpful and was brilliant with the kids.

Use to quite like it, but it has gone down hill lately, maybe because they are trying to sell it. There are not many staff and both my wife and I have found them rude. My wife order a vegan chicken cob salad and her friends ordered the normal chicken cob salad. When it arrived my wife questioned which one was vegan, the woman pointed at one and said " that one as it is smaller" My wife questioned again just to find out it was NOT vegan, lucky she did not eat it, all cob salads delivered to the table had real chicken on them. It was an upsetting experience and my wife and her friends will not be back.

I chose three courses which were well priced, potato dippers, beef beef burger and bacon. To finish three good scoops of ice cream. While the other had Salmon fillet with chips.

We stayed at the Premier Inn next door for a week and had their meal deal. The food was always hot and tasty. Most of the staff served us at some point but we were amazed at Craig's boundless energy. At breakfast Gamma was always cheerful and although they were often busy she had time for a chat. We would definitely use again if we go back to Durham and have told our friends about the place as they want to go to Beamish.

Only been a couple of times but the breakfast here is banging. One of my top breakfasts here.

10/10 experience. Stayed in the Premier Inn next door and went for unlimited breakfast and lunch. The food was perfect and all the staff went above and beyond (honourable mention to Courtney and Andrew for making the experience so much better). If you’re passing by the Durham area or staying in the premier inn hotel next door to it I can’t recommend this enough! Will definitely be going in the future!

the food was good and came out fast even though it was a busy night, the people working were great and made sure I had everything I needed. Also had live music which was great to see.

Been for breakfast with the Easter bunny this morning with my 2 year old. Absolutely amazing morning. The food was lovely and the staff went above and beyond for it. My little girl absolutely loved it and it was great value for money. Looking forward to the next event.

Just came home from a fantastic celebration meal for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. We have been wonderfully looked after, from booking the table of our choice, to excellent prompt service and even a bottle of Prosecco. It really made my parents feel special on their anniversary. Thank you all so much.

We were down from Scotland to attend a wedding. We stopped for dinner and the service was 10/10. The man that was serving us couldn’t have been any nicer, and the food was quick at coming out. The food was really nice. When we’re down again visiting family we will definitely come again

Went there for dinner as could nt be bothered to cook. Had chicken and Pork ribs combo. Both meats were lovely.. Service was Quick and helpful nothing seemed a bother. Was a nice and relaxing atmosphere and came out feeling nice and chilled . Would definitely go again .

Had family meal here other night and got to say it was very nice. Whole family had sirloin steaks and it was the best steak I've had for a long time. Juicy and very tasty. And even better we had a voucher for 30% off main meals. Update .. went for lunch today and very poor. The chips were rock hard and inedible, steak came out and the orders were wrong. Rump was medium rare swimming in blood when asked for well done and sirloin was very well done when asked for medium, so well done as inedible. Mrs ate hers but my cremated steak went back and then had to wait 20mins for another one to come out. In the end we cancelled our desserts and left disappointed. Not so keen to go back again after that to be honest.....shame.

Just been for an evening meal at broomside Park Beefeater and can highly recommend it. All the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us making us very welcome. The food was excellent, we had a mixed grill and fish and chips, both meals were cooked perfect. We will definately be back.

What an amazing little gem of a place, to start the staff are awesome extremely helpful and polite nothing is too much bother, then to the breakfast wow just wow cooked to order and to perfection the bacon exactly how I asked for it the eggs I asked for poached and they were perfect and omg the quality of the sausage is second to none and the mushrooms where the best I’ve tasted on a breakfast all this with plenty of top up coffee and porridge and cereal and toast to your hearts content including fresh fruit, yoghurts and numerous fresh pastries all for just £10 talk about value for money - there was a lot to choose from on the menu like black pudding and hash browns, fried bread, beans tomatoes etc - we will certainly be heading back there for a regular breakfast - we also checked out the other menus and the food on offer was fantastic so we will also return to sample this - but thank you to the staff whom made our visit extra special - by the staff who got their names John, Gemma, Josh and Andrew what a fantastic team they made and hats off to them for the service and information and the recommendation to get the beefeater rewards card - ps even the coffee was lovely and I’m a fussy coffee drinker

Vist on Saturday 16th March, evening meal with the wife. Large burger for myself and a rare steak for the Mr's. Fabulous food and atmosphere in the pub, and a wind down for the two of us. Service by a lad called Andrew T. He made the evening, so pleasant and amenable, very friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend, and return to the Broomside Park Beefeater.

After talking to the head chef in my local last week me and my wife decided to give here ago. Food was lovely I had the combo thing and the wife had chicken and ribs we both loved it. Was very quiet in the restaurant (about 5 tables) so was nice and relaxing. Woman behind the bar served us she was lovely down to earth lady. my only gripe was because it was quite the young waitress was standing about do nothing stood like a bouncer at a night club. Over all will definitely be back may get a club card if we make it a common thing.

We had a great Dinner with drinks & Breakfast there. The quality of food was excellent, as were the staff. The Manager went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with all. We would definitely go back and highly recommend it.

It was cold......the food was mediocre at best. I overpaid as I got the kids a meal deal but as the service was shocking I paid and left before they got their deserts!

It would be unfair to rate the food too poorly. Budget food for a budget price is what you get here. The restaurant could have been a little cleaner and the crockery arrived stained. The stand out would be the waiter who was friendly and efficient. Didn’t catch his name but he certainly puts a shift in 👍

We were a large party celebrating a birthday. Food and drinks were fab everyone was very satisfied with the quality and portion sizes. Special thank you to our server Joanne she was absolutely brilliant and made our day.

I had eaten here last summer and the food was really good, tasty and good sized and quality portions. However I returned recently and the food was appalling. I had the steak and ale pie, the pie was the size you would feed a 3 year old, about 5 poor quality frozen oven chips and 18 peas.. Absolute joke!

Visited at Christmas for our works night out. Had the festive menu. Very impressed with the dressing of the table and crackers. Staff were very attentive and the food was excellent. I also thought that the set menu was great and the price was right. Will definitely be back.

Couldn't fault food, atmosphere and service. Andy the gentleman who served us went above and beyond for us. No issue was to small or big. Allergies weren't an issue either and we're well accommodating in regards to this. Food was delicious and atmosphere relaxed, friendly and good for families or on your own. Love going to this place for breakfast. Always excellent service even when busy. One adult for £9.99 and 2 children under 15 eat free. So much to choose from and I like that the breakfast is cooked to order. The poached eggs are especially good.

Mega expensive for what you get

The breakfasts are brilliant. Choose what you want including cereal, toast, fruit etc

Food was great. We asked for a quiet corner. But everyone had been cramed into a small area as they did not want to use the rest of the restaurant. Thus mean we we sat in the middle with some loud people around us. This made me feel very uncomfortable and we did not enjoy it as much as we could have. Shame

Ok, this is a hard review to write, I grew up with Beefeaters and always liked them. This is the third Beefeater I’ve been to in the last year. This one was the same, service was great the lads working there were excellent. Food was poor, my grilled chicken looked like it had been run over and clearly hadn’t been grilled. I suspect it had been cooked at the start of service and kept warm. Portions are stingy and the meal is not complete without ordering sides, unless you want meat and a tiny portion of chips and a paltry offering of over cooked corn. This is of course a marketing technique to make the headline cost look smaller. The ‘74 sauces are tasteless, I ordered hot (3 chilli’s) really? It had no heat or taste. Desserts were better with the sundaes being decent. C’mon Beefeater this is poor, you have great staff and a decent brand, pull your socks up or it’s over for you.

In summary - I wish I went to macdonalds. This restaurant is overpriced with very poor quality food. I ordered a lamb Sunday lunch. The sprouts were like rocks and the parsnip was chewy. The lamb , was absolutely rank and chewy. The first fork was dirty with food stuck to it, the second fork was dirty too, I gave up and ate what I could with a knife. We paid almost £40 for 2 meals and 2 drinks. I told them it was rank and I couldn’t eat it, but no offer of anything else or a refund :(

There were 13 of us and we called on spec for lunch. The staff were very accommodating and nothing was a bother. Very good. I would recommend it to others.

Absolutely banging breakfasts with a very large selection of unlimited cooked breakfast and unlimited continental breakfast. The place is also very welcoming and the service is excellent!

Called in for a meal after visiting family in the area and we were well looked after by the staff. Food was superb, my wife had the fillet steak and I had the mixed grill and it was done exactly as we asked for and cooked beautifully. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you to all.
