The best restaurants serving British food in Brompton Kensington and Chelsea London

Very small, fine hotel. Very British. Friendly and attentive staff. Delicious and extensive breakfast menu. Nice atmosphere for afternoon tea. It takes 15 minutes to walk to the two nearest subway stations. Busststion for this almost on the doorstep.

We arrived early and had a friendly welcome. Having sat down it was clearly apparent there was a change of staff, roughly 3pm. Our first server I’m guessing was checking off, no interest at all, next server was fair but never saw again, all in all 6 different servers, not one the same on any time coming to the table so no continuity, very little interest except for the lady towards the end. We had pork belly ribs to start, amazing, nice salad with it. The. Between three we had a 1kg porterhouse plus two fries mushrooms mac and cheese and drinks. The steak was excellent but I felt the portions were all very small for the cost of the food. Not good value for money. But this is London. After one dessert it came to just shy of £250. I was really looking forward to this meal but felt very let down. A shame and will be hard pushed to return. I feel there are better restaurants serving quality food for more value. Sorry

I recently visited the Townhouse for afternoon tea to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience. The staff were exceptional, accommodating all of our requests with care and professionalism. A special mention to Ash, who served our food and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The presentation and flavors of the afternoon tea were absolutely delightful and lived up to the high expectations. The atmosphere was warm and elegant, making it a wonderful setting for such a special occasion. Thank you to the team for making the day so memorable.

The prawn salad was phenomenal and well presented. The beef was has an enormous serving portion, cooked to order and perfectly juicy. The atmosphere was very posh- there was live jazz music and a singer

Went with friends for tea. Great sandwiches and good scones , cakes less interesting. Good service, far too expensive.

Lo que hace que el bar 109 sea realmente fabuloso es la atención del personal, tienen el equilibrio perfecto entre asegurarse de tener todo lo que necesita sin sentirse apresurado. Vengo a este bar / cafetería 2 - 3 veces a la semana para trabajar en paz y nunca me voy decepcionado. Equipo de felicitaciones! Lo tienes abajo. ??

Mientras estábamos alojados en el hotel Knightsbridge Tower, vinimos a cenar a nuestra primera noche. ¡El lugar estaba vacío! La comida era muy agradable! La tarjeta de vid también es buena. Disfrutamos de la cena, aunque el servicio debería ser mejor para los estándares de Luxury Collection.

Food was freshly prepared. Atmosphere and service was excellent.

I’ve been really looking forward to checking this restaurant out since it opened & couldn’t fault a thing ! Service & food were absolutely first class - I had the Veal tartare which was simply outstanding as was the baby chicken & fries - Can’t wait to go back

A beautiful, very old and luxurious market, of course for the velvet layer. I recommend visiting it

*check your bill* What a shame as I wanted to love this and had high expectations. The newly refurbished Georgian at Harrods is stunning, perfect setting for afternoon tea. Brought the mums as a pre Christmas treat. Service started well, with the hosts going out of their way to explain everything and making sure dietary requirements were catered to. A different spin on a classic afternoon tea, they didn’t bring out the traditional serving towers you would expect which was a shame in the 1920s style setting. However the food was excellent especially the cakes & cocktails and the jam selection trolley a nice addition. However the host changed and the first bill did not take off the voucher payment of £300+ that was paid in advance. Ok, human error, then re checked the bill to see an additional cocktail had been added. When raised the host insisted we had had the 5th cocktail (we hadn’t and there were clearly 4 empty cocktail classes on the table!) she then deducted the cocktail and brought back the bill of £85 (cocktails and service) fine, I asked for the card machine and lucky I checked before tapping ‘£101’ - pointed out the difference in price, she then huffed, went back and brought out another bill for ‘£101’ - you couldn’t make it up! The 5th cocktail reappeared. Best bit was she was raising her voice and said it was a technical error but the right price was £101. By this time I’ve asked for the manager and told her to remove the service change. She then brings back the £85 bill. Manager comes over apologising and says he will give two of the cocktails complimentary and make sure that host had more training. Wasn’t pleasant, especially not in front of a room full of people. Left a sour taste, not worth the £400 + go to The Ritz ir Fortnum & Mason.

A great venue for an afternoon tea. Beautiful outdoor terrace with nice flowers and decoration. But my first dinner experience there was a real disappointment. Not to be renewed. Service particularly slow, almost asleep; I had to chase them a couple of times in the rear as there wasn't even anybody around! Really basic pub menu, with disappointing dishes, but priced as a top-of-the-range restaurant. £60 for 2 glasses of Champagne, isn't it outrageous?! Restaurant two third empty as well, for a reason I guess...

The cafe systems are very poor and cutlery is not washed very well. Don’t expect your hot food to be hot by the time you have joined several queues to get drinks and desserts to go with your main meal. The Trustees should take the time from their meetings and experience the cafe for themselves and decide whether it’s good for the overall visitor experience. UK hospitality not at its best. Not even that busy but could be better organised.
