Jurassic Afternoon Tea at The Ampersand Hotel: what a great concept! So fun and so delicious. Really recommend people (of all ages) to try this when visiting London.

We visited today for a Jurassic afternoon tea and would certainly recommend to anyone. The menu was extensive to cover many dietary requires. We had the standard afternoon tea and vegetarian option. Staff were very kind to ensure everything was to our liking and made it special for my daughter’s birthday. Food was tasty and the restaurant was comfortable and modern. I don’t make reviews generally, but as this isn’t something cheap, think people should know it is worth it for Dino loving fans 🦖

The service was excellent and the food was really tasty. I had a voucher which was a gift for my 30th birthday. The staff obviously took the time to read the voucher as after the tea I was served some chocolates on a plate with Happy Birthday on it which was such a lovely extra touch. Would highly recommend this experience.

I wanted a fun high tea with my 11 and 13 year old daughters and my mother. I was a bit unsure because of the price, but pleased I did as it was wonderful. Food was novel, fun and delicious, and plenty of it with staff offering top ups. Staff were lovely. We arrived early and they found a table for us and were attentive without being intrusive. Unlike some high teas that try adult food for kids, the childrens' high tea was simple to suit kids but done in a fun way, such as a jam sandwich in the shape of a T-Rex and a cheese straw in the shape of a dinosaur foot. I love the fact the adult tea was also made fun too. Afterall, adult life is serious enough! Easy to get to, across the road from South Kensington and you could combine with a trip to the free nearby Natural History Museum. Highly recommend.

We visited Apero at The Ambersand Hotel for Jurassic afternoon tea as it was our wedding anniversary. The food was incredible, fresh and tasted delicious. The service was impeccable. We had just finished our savoury selection when the waiting staff offered us more and bought out a whole new plate full. The only thing I would say was that the children's afternoon selection was served on a T-Rex platter but the adults was on a normal afternoon tea plate stand. There were plenty of tables with no children which meant they only got a normal plate stand so the only thing that made it Jurassic for them was a little chocolate dinosaur on one of the cakes a mini jelly dino (a bit like a Haribo size) and a tin with a dinosaur print with chocolate crumble and mini chocolate dinosaurs in it. We asked for ours to be served on one of the kids plates but if you don't ask you get a normal afternoon plate stand. So my feedback to Apero is if someone has booked a Jurassic afternoon tea they probably want it full on dino themed even if they are adults otherwise they would have booked a normal afternoon tea. When other dinners (tables with just adults) saw our plate you could see they were a bit jealous. My feedback to adult participants is ask for it to come on a dinosaur plate after all that's why you booked it right?

After hearing mixed reviews about this place i decided to try this afternoon tea. They have Halal and Gluten free options. Overall ambiance and decor of the place is nice and floral. Staff was attentive and kindly offered free a hot chocolate to the child. However it took then 35 mins to bring the food on the table despite the whole place being quite empty. We had one Gluten free and one regular afternoon tea. Afternoon tea itself was very presentable offering variety of teas and we tried three different teas, the nicest one was Masala Chai. Sandwiches were ok in taste albeit rather bland. Scones were fresh, tasty and light. Unfortunately the desserts were very average in taste and were very basic. They do not do refills which is unusual for an afternoon tea. There is definitively room for improvement.

45 minutes for even a drink to arrive. Disastrous evening. Food not memorable and certainly not worth the wait.

We stopped by here for beer after the Natural History Museum. What a gem of a find. We had a few pints, did a spot of shopping, and headed back for dinner. I'm so glad we did. The food was amazing. The service was great. Good beers, great food. Do yourself a favour if you are in the neighbourhood stop by you won't be disappointed.
