Outlaw's at The Capital in Kensington and Chelsea

Food was freshly prepared. Atmosphere and service was excellent.

First class service, food was great and the restaurant is wonderful. The lunch set menu is very reasonably priced and the food is great. Lovely bar serving fantastic cocktails after a shopping spree in Harrods this is the place to dine! Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, when we dined there there were at least 5 menu items unavailable and as the menu is not extensive, this limited choice noticeably. I would have thought that in a restaurant only yards away from Harrods and in central London, maintaining their stock of ingredients would be pretty straightforward. Also, choosing a wine from the wine list resulted in a visit to the 'cellar' by the server only for her to return and say it was out of stock for two different choices. Eventually we had to settle for a bottle of the house red, resisting pressure to buy our wine by the glass instead. On our visit, on a Friday between 6:30 and 8 pm, there were only 2 other tables occupied, yet the service was slow and no one seemed to be keeping an eye on things. The overall impression was of restaurant that is struggling and we would not choose to dine there again despite the food being good. As a footnote, we were staying at the hotel and the breakfast service the next morning was equally poorly run. It was better on our second morning.

Very good service and good customer service

Had high hopes for the restaurant and did vast research of restaurants in the area. Came from south wales to treat my mum for her birthday. The ambience was very nice. I ordered the croque monsier and my mum the fish and chips. Mine was nice enough but my mums fish was very slimey and a few bits UNCOOKED we complained to the waitress who apologised and asked if she wanted something else, at this point I had finished my meal so she don’t want me to wait for her. There was no offer of taking the meal off the bill or even at a discounted rate. She didn’t eat the fish. And then charged us a service charge on top. Really disappointed and wouldn’t visit again. Such a shame as it was a special occasion.

Sadly the 3 course special menu was only available Monday-Thursday (my mistake) so ate off a la carte. Not a good start with a very inexperienced waitress pouring a beer by upending it into a tumbler. Upon being served a.replacement we did mention to the other server that we’d expect a 5 star establishment to train their staff on such a basic task! The food was really good and service spot on. Very empty restaurant so rather flat atmosphere/ambience. Such a shame as the standard of the food IS very good.

A fantastic location just around the corner from Harrods. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, quite spacious and airy. We were attended to so well by many staff and couldn't fault the service. The food was exceptional and wine list extensive. All in all this was a special place to come with my date.

A superb experience from start to finish! On entrance we were greeted warmly and our coats taken. No wait for a table, with our research and the waiters dealing with us were all Knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and funny. The food was outstanding with amazing quality and quantity, which goes for drink too. This place isn't cheap (about £100 a head for 3 courses and drink) but absolutely worth every penny! Can't wait to go back

Nice ambiance and interior. The duck confit and the beef Wellington were pretty good and up to expectations. Only major thing was me and a friend both had the venison tartar to start and had stomach aches later that night, but not sure if that is 100% attributable to the venison. I’d say it’s worth a visit (but you may want to avoid the tartar).

Refurbished a year ago, it is a beautiful setting. Bold green pattern on the wall, with green and turquoise, ochre and dark stained wood. Very stilish indeed. The food is delicious. Starter of tuna tartare and tempura prawn. Beautiful combination of flavours and textures and very well presented. Main of monkfish. Cooked to perfection! Harissa on the side it was very hot. The salad, light and perfectly seasoned. Creme brulee, with a thicker texture but utterly delicious, a fitting end to a wonderful meal. In brief, classy and elegant with delicious food and superb service. Not to mention a touch of magic with the very accomplished young lady playing the harp in the evening, just delightful. Very highly recommended!

Nice room Not at all overpriced - which given its proximity to Harrods is surprising.

Memorable for the wrong reasons. Came with a friend for Sunday roast. The lamb was chewy and way too salty for me, like gammon or salt beef. The Yorkshire pudding was dried out. Only the roast potatoes were reasonably edible. My friend had monkfish which he said was not bad. Maybe I was just unlucky but it reminded me of bad school lunches and how British food used to have the reputation of being the worst in the world, especially in the bleak post-war period. The waitress was polite and attentive when it came asking if we wanted to order anything else, but didn't ask how our food was when she collected our dishes and could see I had hardly touched mine. I couldn't wait to get out of there and and like an archetypical Brit suppressed my urge to moan.

The food was very poor. More like cheap pub lunch for inflated five star hotel prices!

What started out as a glass of wine catching up with a friend eventually turned into an amazing early dinner. The menu offers enough variety for everyone’s palate. I had the poached pear salad and the chicken. And of course doughnuts for dessert, by which time I was so full I could not finish! All beautifully presented and full of flavours. And what about those truffle fries?? A must visit special spot ever so slightly off the Knightsbridge beaten track. High recommend even if it’s just for a glass of wine or a cocktail

Food is ok, choice of drinks very limited and quite expensive. Service was a bit insistent on us ordering some food.

Great atmosphere and good service. The food was nice but my Monkfish was bland. Mussels were fresh and tasty. And the duck from set menu was great.

Lovely surroundings and ambience. The crispy prawns followed by monkfish were outstanding. Added to this the fact that you could purchase a very decent chablis by the glass was most welcome! Service outstanding. Highly recommended!

Overall very nice however no bread basket offered I had to ask. The food overall was excellent. Lovely cheeseboard. The hotel and restaurant had lovely decor and I would recommend.

Booked a reservation here for afternoon tea because it was walking distance from Harrods. I’m happy I did! The staff were great! I was able to leave my backpack with the concierge so I didn’t have to worry about it while I dine. Some of the staff members spoke Spanish which was a nice touch of home for me. Our server was informative about the different types of teas and which experience would be best for first-timers. The atmosphere was quite nice, the interior design has a playful charm to it with tall windows which allow natural light into the space during the day. The tea, sandwiches, desserts, and scones were all delicious! Definitely will be back when I visit London again!

Nicely greeted on arrival. Lovely looking restaurant. We had the 3 x course Set Menu for £38. Very good food and great value for Knightsbridge. Overall a very good lunch. Would reccomend.

Enrico was very nice and really serviced our family very well. He sat us in a corner where we were comfortable and didn’t bother the other guests. You all must get the harissa butter chicken. It is deboned juicy and tender. Steak was delicious but the fish was a little too funky for my taste.

Robert was an absolute pleasure he guided us to our seats and came back to check we were okay during and after our meal. Our meal was served by Matt who was so sweet! Énrico the manager was very knowledgeable on the wine and helped us pick one similar to the one we had before and suggested some other great wines All in all fantastic! Will be coming back

Sophisticated setting with harpist setting a elegant note. Service was outstanding with excellent advice for wine and food selections. The only negative was the food itself. My chicken was rather bland, needed seasoning. My husband’s steak was well cooked but also needed seasoning. Easily fixed to make it delicious and enjoyable meal.

I went to this restaurant with my husband and a friend of us, when we visited London a few weeks ago. The service was very friendly and attentive. All of us ordered the Capital Burger and after that a dessert. The burger was okay but nothing special. The dessert was very good. Unfortunately during the night, two of us got sick. I even had to vomit. The other day also my husband got problems with his stomach. There must be something wrong with the meat in the burger, as all of us three got problems. After our visit, I wrote an email to the restaurant to describe what happened, so it won‘t happen again to other guests. It is a pity that I never got an answer back, that‘s why I need to write this review now.

Overpriced inedible food. No response to feedback. It was very quiet,, should have been a red flag.

We were here on a Monday night and it was almost empty. The service and food were excellent and I think it was just a slow Night! Had a great bottle of wine with dinner and really Enjoyed ourselves.

We had suck a lovely time here, from beginning to end. The location is on a quiet street near Harrods. The staff was welcoming from the moment we stepped through the doors. The food was outstanding. I highly recommend the steak tartar and the baby chicken with harrisa butter. Our waiter was wonderful with wine recommendations and lovely to have a chat with! We would definitely come back here on our next trip to London.

Staffs aren’t friendly but polite, so not complaining. Fancy interior as it’s inside the hotel. But food is seriously overpriced considering the quality, especially poke was horrendous. I wouldn’t even take this for free Do understand 15% of service charge since it’s located in one of the fanciest districts of London, though the overall experience doesn’t deserve 15% service charge

I just came home from one of my many visits to The Bar and Restaurant at The Capital and decided it was about time that I leave a very long overdue and well deserved review. In short they are 10/10, 5 stars, excellent. My friends and I have been going here for a while and as we live in the neighborhood, we have lots of options to choose from but we always end up back at The Capital (or wish we had). We are all self confessed foodies and 'drinkies' but we also want and expect service, comfort and atmosphere too-- so we're kinda picky. The Capital never disappoints... the quality and variety of the food is so good- whether you're having bar snacks or you want something more indulgent. And the staff really make you feel welcome, and taken care of... the right mix of fun and humor and professionalism which makes it a great place for relaxation or a business meeting. We've been coming for almost a year now and it's been consistently excellent; hard to find these days. Thank You Capital, see you soon.

Beautiful restaurant with even more beautiful people taking care of you. Had a working lunch and ate the most scrumptious monk fish, the chef even went out of his way to make me a special sauce, as I couldn’t have ketchup. Thank you

Gem in Knightsbridge in such a great location to watch the passerby and enjoy good food.

It is a while since I was last here. This time the food was a bit ordinary, service was attentive but not intrusive. Tables were too close together.

Beautiful interiors and refreshing cocktails. Food was alright given the prices, and service was friendly, bar one of the servers. Overly spicy harissa chicken which wasn’t indicated on the menu. Server seemed irritated with our request for some yogurt on the side and was reluctant to change our order. Disappointing interlude to our meal. Would love to come back for the cocktails (Bees Knees!) but hope for better service.

Welcome by Pastora who gave me a huge welcoming as she seated me at the table, she was super attentive and warming whilst serving me. I order the monkfish and fries, the fries were cooked to perfection but I found the monkish too salty, I’ve also ordered the chocolate fondant as dessert and swapped the sorbet for vanilla raspberry ripple ice cream, in which they were very accommodating. They overcooked my fondant but made quick amendments to it which was super kind of them. The decor was rather nice touch to the place as well, In all a great visit and i will be back to try the other food on the menu. and thanks again to Pastora for the attentive service.

Came here on a Friday night- it was quite quiet due to Easter. The restaurant is inside a hotel and the decor is amazing, and so was the ambience. Service was also impeccable and I have no bad words about it. We got the octopus to start, which was good- hardly any octopus inside but it was still tasty. We then got the lamb chops for main, which was good but lacked seasoning and had too much fat on it. We got the softshell crab burger which was magnificent, I loved the crunch and the depth of flavour. The mac and cheese was also really good, not too cheesy and well seasoned although I am a fan of a bit more spice. The fries were nice and crunchy, the peppercorn sauce wasn’t the greatest. I think 4 stars is fair but because we had a discount, 5 stars is fair. We had 30% off and our meal totalled £70. They informed us everything was halal except the beef.

I ordered prawn spagetti. The sauce did taste nice, though the pasta seemed more like noodles. Quite expensive.

It was a very good experience. The food was very good, the service was impecable.

Can't recommend this place. While food was ok and waiter was brilliant, porter was very strange. Our coats were not hanged and noone assisted us with receiving them and I spent 5 minutes trying to prove my scarf really belongs to me and I may have it.

Found this by chance as a nearby restaurant. Really glad we came here, the meal was wonderful and sensibly priced. Nice wine selection and again well priced. We had lamb and beef, both cooked to perfection. They really should be fully booked and we were surprised to be able to book a table quickly, good for us but doubt this will be the norm. Nice attentive staff. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere. Recommended.

Great service and tasty food. The portions were just what you need for a decent lunch. Not too big not too small.

We came here for our 6th anniversary. The setting is intimate and romantic, and the food is truly exceptional. The porcini mushroom risotto with truffle shavings is the best risotto I think I have ever had. The fish dishes were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the service was so personal and excellent. A wonderful experience.

For a Saturday lunch, adjacent to Harrods, the restaurant was quiet. The exception was the Muzak which should not be necessary in the right setting. The Restaurant Manager was not around to show us to our table but arrived to take our Order. However, the first course was not as described on the Menu (Smoked Salmon with beetroot and horseradish) It arrived with a crab pate which was changed immediately as my wife is allergic to Shellfish (for one made out of trout). The main choice on the menu was not available. So, I had bavette of beef which was rather tough to chew. My Wife had a nice risotto. We both had desserts. I am pleased we went but, I am not sure that I would return. Reasonable value all things considered.

Afternoon tea was a let down for us. I can’t recommend this for someone else based on our experience. Perhaps this was an off day. I would recommend looking elsewhere for tea service. I will say all of the food being served to other tables did look lovely. The ambiance was also nice.

Food was good. I had a ribeye, truffle fries, and peas (with ham and onions).

One of the best dine out experience in London! Highlight was the tomahawk steak and the poke bowl. Steak was juicy and cooked to perfecting. Poke bowl was so flavorful. Service was top notch. 10/10 would come back again. :)

What a gem! I booked this restaurant which is in the Capital hotel and so close to Harrods, so perfect location after a day out shopping. The food was delicious and the service second to none. I will definitely return.

I was in Knightsbridge for a shopping afternoon and a friend of mine had recommended this place so I decided to check it out. As soon as I walked in I was blown away by the intimate yet modern atmosphere of the place and the lovely service. The food was absolutely delicious and not overpriced compared to other places in the area.

I cannot say enough good things about this incredible place. I spent the month in London and came here 8 times since the opening. I highly recommend the poke bowl with the fresh mango, the chicken, the tea time, it’s great for lunch, for dinner and for tea time with even our toddler. The wine is excellent as well and Enrico is the absolute best. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

Although the booking didn’t get notified to the restaurant, the staff served and arranged the table perfectly. My guests and we enjoyed the nicely served breakfasts well and I would like to come back here definitely!

I arrived to be told the restaurant would not be serving food because the chef was in a meeting. He was also unaware of the reservation. We had to book a last minute lunch somewhere else.

Why have a tea menu with fancy descriptions of Tregothnan tea if you're going to bring out a pot of Twinnings Earl Gray? Cakes weren't the freshest. Sandwiches had clearly been made earlier and stacked for hours, they had smashed together into a single rainbow block of bread and fillings.

The food was delicious. The staff were nice, but it was a bit noisy and there was an incident, resulting in a staff member shouting in Italian. That being said I would go back again.

We came here for lunch and it was outstanding.

The last time I dined at the capital was under Eric Chavot with two Michelin stars. I recall that Christopher Lee was holding court with his wife, daughter & son in law. I missed the Outlaw years. The chef has big shoes to fill. I had a great two night stay in the hotel and we ate very early one evening before going to the Proms so we had the small dining room to ourselves. I really enjoyed the meal; I think my main course was up to Eric Chavot's standard billed as "Rump of new season lamb – celeriac purée, salt baked celeriac, spinach, broad beans & red wine jus" It also had very tasty chanterelles. All that was missing was a sauce spoon, which is something you never see. I shared a starter which was simple but excellent, "Hummus, raz al hanout, fried broad beans & crudités". I was really please to see this on the menu, I cannot recall seeing crudités except in France. Overdue a comeback with the rise in the number of vegan. The service was faultless. The wine choice was very good. My wife had developed a taset for Cuveé B&B Grand Cru Champagne Pierre Moncuit Franc from our stop at the bar the evening before.

Our experience here was… interesting. The halibut tasted like a Chinese Supermarket, and the lamb — like plastic… The waiters were very nice and chill, but they don’t even receive the service fee (included into the bill) most of the time. :/ So, on top of way-below-mediocre food with no taste whatsoever, the restaurant/hotel is also treating their lovely staff unfairly! After we made this £50 mistake, we walked 3 minutes to Al Arez and got two wraps for £11.50 — now that was a flavorful dinner!!

The food was great (we had the fillet with parmesan/truffle chips), and the service was polite, helpful and understated. We'll definitely be back.

Auch London-Besucher lade ich mit Vorliebe hierher ein, weil man herrlich ungestört seinen Champagner und Tee, seine Sandwiches oder die feine Auswahl an süssen Köstlichkeiten genießen kann. Bisher waren alle meine Gäste begeistert. Charmant, intim und stilvoll! 🥂

This is a great restaurant! It was a complete "experience". The Bar Supervisor "Ms. Martina" gave us the best service and attend every detail. The food is beautiful and delicious! If I were able to rate this for 10 stars, I would! Absolutely my favorite restaurant!

Beautiful tea room we've come across by chance. We didn't book so we were glad to find a place to enjoy the afternoon tea in London on the 1st of January. We loved the entire experience. The service was friendly and attentive, the sandwiches and cakes were delicious they have a variety of teas and there is also a champagne alternative. We loved the ambience; it was relaxing and comfortable. Thank you so much for a great afternoon. I will definitely be returning.

Mi prometido y yo somos grandes fanáticos de los mariscos, así que me llevó aquí para mi cumpleaños. El chef Adam estaba allí y fue emocionante verlo en la cocina trabajando febrilmente. Fuimos recibidos por el anfitrión en la hermosa Capital que nos quitó los abrigos. El director de alimentos y bebidas, Asif Bajwa, nos recibió y nos llevó a nuestra mesa. No solo nos regaló champán para mi cumpleaños y vino de postre, sino que lo vi participar en cada mesa y compartir su amplio conocimiento sobre el vino. Él es tan cálido y atractivo y realmente hizo que la noche fuera muy especial. El pan de ternera con aperitivos berberechos era inmenso! Altamente recomendado.

Este es un restaurante recientemente reabierto en la "cadena de pequeños hoteles de lujo" en el área de Knightsbridge. Es pequeño pero muy acogedor y vale la pena visitarlo incluso en Nochebuena. El personal está atento desde el momento en que llega al bar hasta que sale del restaurante, un excelente servicio.Apuntamos al menú de degustación y al maridaje de vino que lo acompañaba, que resultó ser una excelente elección. No se pierda pero varios puntos destacados, e. sol. el ceviche de vieira era realmente bueno. Excelentes vinos y una mini degustación de puertos nos indicaron el fabuloso Graham's 20 Years Old Tawny.¡Volveremos!
