The place is in a small street, hidden from sight from the main street. Lovely place, the lighting and the blackboards give it a beautiful vibe. Servers are very helpful and kind. A bit slow, but kind of expected as it is a large place. Food-wise, I did have higher expectations given the over £80 pp you should expect to pay if not the express menus. Ribeye was multiple steps over medium. Although large and nice sweet char on the outside, it did need a side sauce to help. Took 1-star for this. Fries were excellent though. The toffee sunday is a amazing dessert, would come back for it. It was my birthday and server apologized as he was only allowed to give a little candle on a dessert I ordered. Given the custom of the "on the house" dessert on special occasions, seems a big miss. On a £100 lunch it seems a pretty reasonable expectation. I took another star for this. I did pay for it myself as had been told they were good. Would give another try for the meat (first will go back to Backlock with more affordable prices and similar/better quality), wouldn't give another try on a special occasion.

Best steak I’ve had in recent memory. The food, the service, the ambiance, all came together *chef’s kiss*. The staff carefully explained different cuts of the meat according to your taste from fatty to lean, various location of the cut and how that would impact the meat, we learnt a lot from the patient staff that helped us tonight - Anwar (shout out to you and the team for such a excellent dinner!) Go with total confidence that you’ll be well taken care of. The entrance is a little misleading - single door facing back alley without any signage or guidance if it’s open or where to proceed (maybe this can be improved for more people to discover what’s hidden away) Once you descend the stairs, the space open up to a beautiful Great Gatsby lounge vibe space, you’ll have a memorable evening I’m sure. I’ll stop the words here and let the photos do the talking, hope you have a great dinner/lunch as much as we did!

A great night out on a well know steak restaurant. My fillet was great (more to medium than medium rare but ok). Creamed spinach was very nice too (if you like it salty), and garlic mushrooms was to die for. Service polite and quick.

Unfortunately seems like Hawksmoor may have joined the group of restaurants whereby your seating position is based on your race. I'm a seasoned restaurant reviewer with over 24million views so quite familiar with all this Booked a table for one, quick dinner early Friday evening. I was sat by myself at the bar area even though the main restaurant wasn't full. I thought it was just a coincidence but no other guests came to the area throughout my entire meal. All others were led into the restaurant with no waiting time at all As I was leaving , a black couple came in and they were ushered to the same area I was. Would I go back or recommend, definitely not. This is January the slowest month for restaurants so there's no way it can be argued that they were fully booked The food was just okay. Well seasoned steak but too dry so had to order 2 sets of sauces. My recommendation if you still want to visit, Request to be seated in the main restaurant and if declined dine elsewhere. The bar area is basically at the steps at the entrance and cloak room.

This was my first visit to Hawksmoor and I was excited to go after hearing friends rave about the food. 93 pounds for a chateau briand for two without any side dished. 600gms. Chateau Briand is a whole or portioned fillet. As a fillet has a large and tapered end, we recieved the small end. We ordered it medium rare, expecting pink to red in the centre, we recieved an over-charred, over cooked, tough pieces of meat. There was the slightest amount of pink in the centre but the outside pieces came charred (tasting of burnt crust) and tough/dry. Not worth 93 pounds. We had the mash and gravy. The mash was good but not hot and there was only a tiny ribbon of gravy. The ceaser salad side dish composed of four romaine leaves, four croutons, dressing and a small amount of Italian cheese. Pretty lame actually. Finally we ordered the scallop la for a starter. They looked lovely upon arrival, presented in shells but they were tepid at best, the breadcrumbs soaked into the sauce which just made the sauce mushy. They were obviously prepared in advance and then poorly warmes before being served. Finally, although the Knightsbridge location looks very nice, it is in a basement without any natural light and nothing to absorb sound so it was quite noisy inside. If they have music playing you would not be able to hear it, I struggled to hear my dinner companions sitting across the table. Overall, considering the hype around Hawksmoor, it was completely overpriced and of poor quality, especially for the prices.

This is the best place I have eaten at in London. From the Scallops to the steak to the sticky toddy pudding. Everything is amazing. The staff are so knowledgeable and do not act like snobs, which you can get at high end restaurants. Definitely visit if you are in London.

The quality of the food was good, but the flavour was not. This was our second time going and our first was amazing, so we were very disappointed this time around. The carpaccio had way too much vinegar it was overpowering. The scallops tasted bland and didn’t have a good mouth feel since the breadcrumb was soft. The ribeyes had no seasoning meaning it relied heavily on the sauce. The sprouts were boiled and bland then the bacon that came with it was way too fatty so you didn’t have a pleasant experience eating either of them. We also went for my birthday and I was told I would receive a dessert to celebrate but that never came. However, the cocktails were very good, especially the Gimlet.

It is our last holiday diner together , with hotel staff recommended this restaurant , I was little disappointed to say this place not a old classic fine dinning romantic Steak House I looking for , more modern style casual steakhouse with multiple location in UK , remind me like KEGS in Vancouver , extremely noise my poor eardrums ! tablet too close to each other , do not feel comfortable not much privacy talk , menu is all day menu most is Steak plus few fish item , , staff very friendly well recommended about their Sunday Roast ( I think it is roast Rump ) which my girl loved it , it do tasty delicious of course my Rib Eye ( MR ) nicely grilled top notch , nice per with their mash , good steak you do not need any sauce ,nice size Prawn Cocktail it turn out it is one of the amazing fantastic last dinner together till April next year ! what surprised m is the Manager/ Staff did find us a nice quite tablet , just happened the diner whom just finished dinner and left ! what a excellent P/R ! well make my day ! thank you ! so if you in UK looking for a nice casual Steak dinner , Hawksmoor is the place with their great amazing Can Do Attitude and tasty Sunday Roast ! * Thanks a Million * happy New Year Every One !

The food is good. We had a chateaubriand which was tasty … but I can’t help but think about how overpriced everything l was. I ordered a Hawksmoor beer for £7 + service charge and this wasn’t on draft, or a pint, it was 330ml can which I had to pour myself lmao! I think that is outrageous. Given the stiff competition, I’m unlikely to ever go to Hawksmoor ever again. Before you put this in the “you’re just not used to London prices” category, I’m actually very happy paying much more for a super meal … the value for money is awful at Hawksmoor, and that’s a shame.

Second trip to Hawksmoor. Came the week of Christmas with my family. The steaks were exceptional and cooked to perfection, and the extras like the Ceasars salad, beet salad, triple-cooked chips and brussel sprouts complement the meal perfectly. The atmosphere in the knightsbridge location is ok - not much ambience or stylish. However, the service was the issue and received an average rating, with the biggest inconsistency being the waiter. Not very friendly and when he was interacting with us, was frank and standoffish. The sommelier and bartender were good. Overall, I would recommend Hawksmoor for steak lovers looking for a quality steaks and sides cooked perfectly.

Beware ! Bar sitting ans stools are not in the main dining room, but a few high tables thrown in by the reception. Not what should be expected for a good Sunday roast. The reception staff showed no empathy to our deceptions and was not willing to find some solution. We had to pass our ways and this totally ruine the sunday road moment we were expecting for a while. Also take not that the dining room is in a basement and does not seem to be well ventilated ( grilling smells) Pictures and show reality

Great steak restaurant in London. We came on the recommendation of our friends. They used to come when they lived in London. It's not a popular place but it's very crowded. Be sure to make a reservation. When I say not popular, I mean not touristic. The only problem with the environment is that it is extremely noisy. Otherwise the kitchen is amazing.

Very nice service, the food on the other hand, we ordered a medium rare fillet & rib-eye, when the food arrived the meat was pretty dry, and did not live up to expectations… We also ordered beef dripped fries, these tasted and looked the same as McDonalds fries. We also ordered buttered vegetables, only to be greeted with buttered lettuce, it was good but vegetables is supposed to be multiple vegetables. All in all service was good, food was alright. Price for the money = Not worth it.

Great vibe in this place and delicious roast beef, with the biggest and best Yorkshire puds in London! Very stylish room, nicely lit with jazzy ambient music playing at just the right level. They easily accommodated our large group of eleven people at two side by side booths without so much as a flinch (we booked in advance). A high level of staff ensured that service was top notch. Everyone we encountered, from the coat check to the front of house to the servers, were friendly, polite and extremely professional. We all ordered the roast beef (no poultry option here) which was perfectly rare to med. rare, with the one person opting for well done happily accommodated. Sides of roast potatoes, steamed cabbage and steamed carrots left some in our group wishing they would serve the more traditional roast veg. Optional sides of cauliflower-cheese and sprouts with bacon & chestnuts were delish, albeit on the smallish side. The wine and cocktail list is extensive but pricey. Still, this is not your average pub Sunday lunch and we all agreed it was 100% worth the splurge. 5*

Good. Not great. The Sunday roast isn't on the same level as Blacklock for sure. Discretionary service charge *and* now a discretionary charity donation (this is a new one) loses a few stars too. My sister's meat was mostly fat. Our waiter was a bit slow and I think there were two of them who thought they were running our table. I've eaten here once before and the London Bridge and Edinburgh ones and the experience was better previously. Either it's gone downhill or they were having a bad day. In any case, the business practice of two discretionary charges left a bad taste in my mouth. This was my last visit to a Hawksmoor I think.

Supposed to be wheelchair friendly but the knackered ramp they brought out to get me over the hug strap in the front door was the start of the downtrend. The service was fabulous until we opted for the express menu and asked for the corkage charge to drink our own wine 🙁The food was disappointing for me but my husband enjoyed his starter of beef & bacon potted meat whereas my smoked mackerel salad was full of mackerel bones, the potatoes were still hard in the middle and were drowned in a horseradish dressing which was far too overpowering for me ! The mains, both steaks were pretty good but both had sinewy strips which were difficult to cut and the chips had been cooked until the potato inside had disappeared into its crispy outer casing leaving greasy husks in place of plump chips. The atmosphere was chaotic and as we were unable to tell staff apart from customers with their lack of even a uniform clothes colour, never mind an actual uniform or even a meagre Hawksmoor apron ?? The restaurant was busy but the atmosphere was totally filled with the ‘ staff ’ running round like headless chickens….. we had 5 different members of staff looking after our table throughout our visit despite the lady who had been introduced as the person who would “ be looking after you tonight “ …… we never saw her again !! The service charge was covered by the card machine lady saying “ oh and the service charge is included here “ ….. no mention of it being optional !! We won’t be returning to a Hawksmoor restaurant, overrated and overpriced I’m afraid 😟

We visited yesterday afternoon, excited to try the Sunday roast we’d heard so much about. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. When we ordered, we were told there was no cauliflower cheese or stuffing left, which seemed surprising for 4:30 pm on a Sunday—especially for a venue known for its popular roasts. After ordering, we waited 40 minutes for our food to arrive. While the meat was lovely and the gravy delicious, several of the potatoes were hard and felt more boiled than roasted. The service was equally disappointing. No one came to clear our plates, even after we asked for the bill, which itself took about 20 minutes to arrive. To top it off, a 12.5% service charge was automatically added, which felt absurd given the poor service. The thought of disputing it and waiting another 20 minutes for a corrected bill wasn’t worth the hassle, so we paid and left—with our plates still sitting on the table. It’s a shame, as we had high hopes, but the service and attention to detail fell far short of expectations.

Loudest restaurant I have ever been to. We went for a birthday dinner and just tried to eat ASAP to avoid going deaf. There is no padding inside so all noise just echoes through the whole restaurant. Volume level felt like a nightclub and that's coming from someone in their 20s. The staff was lovely and the food was very very good but I cannot recommend this place at all as you cannot even hear yourself think.

This was a first visit to the Knightsbridge location, but perhaps the 5th of their outlets in London that I’ve checked out over way too many visits to count. The Knightsbridge venue is well hidden down a side street, but clearly well discovered as it was totally packed on the Friday evening that I visited. The decor looks very similar to their other locations. We were 3 people and were seated in a comfy booth. The 3 of us ordered the scallops, bone marrow and prawn cocktail to start, followed by a round of steaks (fillet and ribeye) accompanied by fries, creamed spinach and mac & cheese. For dessert we tried the famous sticky toffee as well as a couple of cheese plates. The food was pretty much as expected from Hawksmoor, solid all round with very little to complain about. If I had to critique I’d say some of the steaks were slightly over, albeit it wasn’t a major issue. While the food was delivered at a good pace, service did feel a bit confused at times and a couple of drinks orders were forgotten. It was also difficult to understand our primary server who had a very thick Italian accent. The bill for our meal came to £600, of which £320 was spent on drinks. Overall yet another enjoyable Hawksmoor meal!

As we decided to have an early dinner at about 5:30 pm, we decided to try the express menu which was available from 5 to 6:30 pm on Monday to Saturday. (you have to ask for the menu as they don’t give it to you when you sit down.) A two-course meal was £29 and a three course was £33. I wanted the three course meal, but the portion was huge. I had potted beef with Yorkshire puddings for appetiser and rump steak with chips for main. We ordered Hawksmoor Cesar as a side also (£7) but I would not order it again next time. We had a drink each consist of wine and a pineapple soda. The total bill came to £95 which I felt was a great value for the quality and quantity of food that we had.

First time visit to the Knightsbridge Hawksmoor having been to Air Street and Guildhall previously and was not disappointed. First the waiter was very welcoming and took our orders and kept in touch with us. For starters we had the crab and prawn cocktail, the crab was delicious but the bread was tough and took some cutting whilst the prawn cocktail was well received. For mains some had the Chateaubriand and others the Fillet, all received their food as ordered mine being a little rare but was perfect. The accompanying wines proved a perfect match although only one bottle was available on my first choice but the sommeliers choice as a replacement was spot on. A very buzy restaurant and can be a little noisy but so be prepared. All in all l will certainly go again.

We arrived early and had a friendly welcome. Having sat down it was clearly apparent there was a change of staff, roughly 3pm. Our first server I’m guessing was checking off, no interest at all, next server was fair but never saw again, all in all 6 different servers, not one the same on any time coming to the table so no continuity, very little interest except for the lady towards the end. We had pork belly ribs to start, amazing, nice salad with it. The. Between three we had a 1kg porterhouse plus two fries mushrooms mac and cheese and drinks. The steak was excellent but I felt the portions were all very small for the cost of the food. Not good value for money. But this is London. After one dessert it came to just shy of £250. I was really looking forward to this meal but felt very let down. A shame and will be hard pushed to return. I feel there are better restaurants serving quality food for more value. Sorry

We had an early sitting, around 6 pm, and the restaurant was already quite busy. Our waiter was attentive and picked up on a very short mention of one of us celebrating their birthday which resulted in chocolates and a candle later on. The oysters whilst not large were excellent and my steak was fantastic. The Portuguese House red is good value for money and went well with the main course. Whilst not a cheap restaurant I feel it is good value for money due to the quality of the food, service and location

Had the occasion of enjoying a Sunday roast with friends in this lovely restaurant. Food is delicious, the beef was requested medium rare however leaning towards more on the rare side. Good, nevertheless, the pudding and sides were up to scratch. The Malbec wine was superb. The place kind of looks pubbish, not the kind of atmosphere you would expect to have this sumptuous lunch. And if you can see in the pictures, the whole food presentation on the table is a bit occupied if I may say. Overall, a good experience.

Our hostess and waiter was pretty decent. The food was amazing. Bonemarrow pairs well with the onion. The ribeye was delicious and cooked to perfection. The creamy spinach was the best one I had in my life, the mushrooms were ok. Bonemarrow sauce we ordered was divine but, your waitress said “I ain’t no Superman, pass the glass” — hell she has no right to talk to me like that. Preserve you attitude and learn to behave.

TLDR: Go to Goodmans. After not having been to Hawksmoor for over 10 years I thought it was worth giving it another shot. Noisy place, but service was quick and efficient. Steak (500 g Ribeye) was ordered medium rare and half of it was cooked perfectly and tasty (albeit without much of a crust), but the other half was overcooked somehow. My parents ordered the mixed grill platter and unfortunately everything there was overcooked. Wine recommendation was good. Coffee was bad and while there were 4 ports on the menu they came back to tell me they had none available. Also, no cheesecake in a steakhouse? Overall not impressed.

Just been here for a business lunch. The positives, steak was fantastic and cooked to perfection. However service, started well with the lady on reception and the lady on the bar, however the wait staff leave a lot to be desired today. We asked for advice on how to order as a group to share. The advice on the steak was spot on but the sides are so tiny we immediately ordered more as soon as they arrived. The greens on the menu were just boiled unseasoned cabbage. The rest tasty but very small including the tiny jugs of sauce you get. Our waitress was not good, very abrupt, verging on rude and at one point literally swiped away our glasses to make room for the food. Quite a surprise for a high end restaurant. We paid the service charge but a note to the team, you charge for service and we expected better today

This is a restaurant near Harrods Department Store! Luckily, I was able to visit and eat without a reservation. I recommend making a reservation... We came for a Sunday roast, had the chateaubriand with the trimmings. Beef was very tough and hard to cut with the dull knife given to us. The potatoes were hard on the outside, so hard that the dull knife couldn't cut through. Then there's the service, for a space that markets itself on being high-end, I would say that the service was sub-par, and not attentive to us or trained properly. It wasn't all bad though, the sticky toffee pudding was excellent, I would highly recommend it!

From US and put this establishment on our list after seeing it on a list of top 10 steakhouses in the world. We’ve been to 7 of them and wanted to add this to our list. The atmosphere is a bit pubish and lacks the aura of some of the others. The food overall exceptional from the creative drinks to the delicious scallop appetizers, bone marrow generous and best we’ve had; to the great steak sauces and delicious sticky toffee pudding. The creamed spinach side was delicious but the chateaubriand for 2 fell slightly short of world best status. We will be back and I’m guessing a different choice of meat will elevate it to a world contender!

Our visit was disappointment because of the overprice. We with my wife ordered shared 600g Chateaubriand with couple of side dishes and bottled beers (no draught beer or ale was available). While the meat was good, it was slightly overcooked. The portion came without any 'decorations' and we had to order more side dishes. All this definetly was not 140£. For such a price range, I would also expect a tablecloth. In my view, this was a "tourist trap" for one-time visitors.

As a family we went for the acclaimed Sunday Roast . Don’t expect a traditional English pub as there was no beer on tap and cocktails at 13 quid each were small and the decor was plain.. Both the roast beef and potatoes lacked flavour ,the veges were good and the bone marrow gravy was very average Definitely catering for the unaware tourists at 27quid per person ,desert additional . Very unpleasant, we arrived at 8.50 in the morning and asked to have an English breakfast, they told us that the "dining room" was not open and that it could not be. We ordered a coffee and pastries from what they had around. As we left, while still at the door, another couple came in, asked if they could sit down to have an English breakfast, they turned on the light and served them. The only good thing is that thanks to this we found a great place to have breakfast the next day.
