My partner and I brought our 10 month old which was of no concern to them, they involved her just as much as any guest and the wonderful pianist played “twinkle twinkle” for her too. She loved it! This place really cater to everyone and was the first place I’d been to where they served me non dairy items that weren’t just vegan. Loved it, thank you for making my birthday so special!

Afternoon tea with voucher to celebrate birthday. I contacted the Tea Room in advance to advise of my intolerance to mayonnaise, salad cream, any creamy dressing on sandwiches. When we arrived we struggled to find the Tea Rooms which were on the 4th floor. We were shown to our table which was backing onto a corridor and there was a draft blowing on us. The girl who was serving us seemed to be ok and she ran though the tea treats explaining mine had no dressing on. We were first served with an amuse bouche which was ok. I did not get one of the dishes my husband got as it was too creamy but was not offered an alternative. Was offered extra sandwiches but I took a bite and there was some sort of cream underneath and I had to call our waitress over to exchange. She did not apologise or seem fazed that I’d been served the wrong thing. The bread on some sandwiches were hard and curled up at the edges. Small cakes were nice. All I. All nothing special, service not great and it was smack bang in the middle of a corridor to the lift so shoppers kept filing past us and then waiting for the lift. See photos. Won’t be coming back here again. Park Room at Grosvenor House is so much better; setting, service, ambience and food.

A dear friend invited us to meet for afternoon tea - tea and scones. We arrived before my friend who had the voucher. We have the name the booking was made under and were seated after waiting at a ‘bar’ (odd place where random unused phones / electronics were being stored, seemingly). Then my friend arrived and offered to show the voucher, which was declined and deemed unnecessary. We were served amuse-bouche, which I knew were not part of the scone tea, which we declined, explaining that we were her for tea and scones. All very awkward, the server said he had ordered a full afternoon tea for us, which I then had to say was not correct. He was not very amenable or nice about the misunderstanding (not our fault). The milk served with the tea was not enough, the server did not once come to ask if everything was OK. We had to request more milk and cream for scones. The tea pots are small and although hot water is provided, it is then a weaker tea. Not impressed at all. Our fir at experience here in 2019 was outstanding, the one in 2023 was decent, but this time the food and tea was inadequate and the was poor. As we were leaving, the server ran up to us, finally addressing our party and requesting that we pay the service charge. All very gauche. Also the piano music was odd, not very polished or aptly chosen music (eg Frozen theme tune!) I would not recommend or go again.

We were spending a few days in London and wanted to have afternoon tea whilst in London. Harrods had availability at short notice and noted they catered for gluten intolerances. Upon arrival we were early and asked to wait at the bar area. I note another comment about the bar, I think it is an unused bar, and a dumping ground for phone charges. It was in desperate need of some flower arrangements/foliage to hide this fact. Food arrived pretty quick and we were offered fresh tea throughout our time here, extra sandwiches, cakes and scones. The service was excellent and food delicious and I really enjoyed my gluten free afternoon tea. However, we did feel the room lacked opulence.

We had a wonderful experience from start to finish and would highly recommend the Harrods afternoon tea (we've been to all the usual places for afternoon tea - Claridges, the Langham, the Lanesborough). Service and food were both exceptional, with special mention to Hajar for taking such good care of us. There wasn't a single item we dislikes, but the pistachio choux deserves a mention and is especially memorable.

We tried the afternoon tea after prior reservation (reservation is necessary). It was a nice experience. The place in general is nice, quiet and beautiful. There is live piano playing in a calm voice. The staff and service are very wonderful, especially one named Michael. He was very polite and respectful, asking every once in a while if we needed anything. They have two menus, classic and Veggie, for vegetarians. (It is a cheese sandwich with cucumber, egg brioche, tartar, and something like a pie with salmon on top, in addition to 4 types of desserts, and it includes a spicy scone with jam and butter, and a variety of teas and drinks) The person is approximately 75 pounds and the children are 40 or 45, I don’t remember.

The ambiance and service was good, but nothing exceptional. The sandwiches were soggy and flavorless. The desserts were mostly tart which isn’t my preference. Would not recommend. A local cafe is probably better quality food and snacks.

So fancy and SO good! We had their classic afternoon tea and it was great! The sandwiches and desserts were so good!!!! The desserts looked to good to eat! The desserts had edible gold and silver on them and they gave us an appetizer each with caviar! The tea was good but I wish they gave us another pot each and I wish they gave us more creamer. The only thing of food I didn’t like was the egg salad sandwich, it was yucky. Here is what they gave us: 1. A amuse-bouche (served first before the tower. It was a yummy savory soup type food that was a little spicy; 7/10) 2. English cucumber sandwich (served with the tower. It was a yummy refreshing sandwich; 10/10) 3. Faroe island poached salmon sandwich (served with the tower (swt). It was an ok sandwich. It felt more like a savory cross between a cream puff and a croissant; 6/10) 4. Coronation style egg brioche roll (swt. Not very good. I don’t like egg salad very much. It wasn’t for me; 2/10) 5. Chicken and tarragon mayo sandwich (swt. This was very yummy. It wasn’t too too much and the mayo wasn’t overpowering; 10/10) 6. Warm parmesan madeleine (not served with the tower. This was the thing with caviar. It had chives, sour cream and caviar on top. The madeleine was good, but the sour cream was too overpowering; 8.5/10) -Deserts- 1. Rhubarb tart (swt. This was very yummy! It had edible silver on top. It was a little tart and the crust was soft, but the frosting was good; 9/10) 2. Pistachio choux (swt. This was awesome! The outside was a hard baked shell but the inside was a cake! The pistachio stuff on top wasn’t sweet though, probably so the dessert wasn’t too sweet; 10/10) 3. Tropical sphere (swt. This was a passion fruit mousse with a mango compote, a coconut sponge inside and it sat on top of a crunch sable. It was yummy and tangy but it didn’t need the coconut sponge; 9.5/10) 4. Caramel and chocolate delice (swt. This was a very rich cake! It was chocolate sponge, chocolate ganache, caramel mousse, and caramelized white chocolate chantilly. It was very good but also very rich and decadent. I probably could not eat 2 of these; 9/10) -Tea- 1. Scones (served after the tower. The scones were raisin scones and plain scones with jam and clotted cream. It was good and sweet but I wish they gave them to us earlier, I had already ran out of most of my tea; 7.5/10) 2. I had an earl gray tea (served before anything. It’s tea… So of course it’s good; 10/10) It was a really fun, fancy and yummy experience 10/10 would recommend

The Harrods High Tea experience is a fun throwback experience to older times when high tea was a thing. While not cheap, the amount of food provided – even though it is bite-sized – is quite filling by the end. The tea itself is excellent as well. When you are choosing from tea options, the menu contains a little diagram that notes where the flavor is in terms of sweet, floral, woody, or astringent, which is really cool. They also provide more hot water upon request, so you can maximize your pot of tea leaves. Worth it if you’re interested and it’s within your budget. Just be prepared: Harrods is a massive department store, so while the signage is excellent throughout directing you to the tea room, it’s still a big place and might take time to get there, depending on which entrance you use.

This review is not about the food as I was so disappointed with the service that I left. I asked the hostess if she had a table available inside and she said yes. She took me out to the balcony and sat me at the end of the building with a “covered” balcony area. This area smelled like trash and the heat did not help the situation. Got up and approached her and asked if if I could sit in the main dinning area. She then proceeded to tell me “ those tables require reservation”. Why didn’t you tell me this in the first place rather than waste my time. I would have left. I think they rather sit you in this area hoping that you stay rather than walk out once you are sitting. I have read other reviews where people are happy with their experience here but this was not the case for me. Make sure you make reservations if you want to sit in the main dinning area.

We had tea at Harrod’s Tea Room for a group of 4 (1 child). The amuse bouche was gross, a warm mushroom purer with hazelnut and truffle. The savory sandwiches were quite boring - cucumber/cream cheese, smoked salmon on a puff (salmon was not good), and curry egg salad on brioche (OK). The caviar and sour cream on the cheese madeleine was good. The desserts were also boring. The pots of tea were small and never refilled.the service was terrible despite the compulsory cover charge per person and added gratuity. Tea for 4 was a complete waste of 302GBP. We had to get pizza delivered to the hotel aftward.

We enjoyed an excellent English tea time here, which was very exclusive according to Harrods. We (4 adults, 2 children) were served 2 cake stands, one vegetarian and one “normal”, with an excellent selection of sweet and savory. They had only two tables occupied and since we didn’t have a reservation she could not fit us in… they must have seating for a 150 people in there… can you not manage a dining room which allows for walk in guest as well? You could easily increase your revenue. Anyways—- don’t waste your time and money here. There are lots of other restaurants in the neighbourhood.

I would not comment on the food but the ambiance. The pianist here is a real musician. He is dancing with his piano. We visited this restaurant with high hopes based on online reviews, but unfortunately, our experience fell short. The £73 per person package felt overpriced for the quality. The sandwiches lacked freshness, and the desserts were uninspired. The scones were particularly disappointing, dry and seemingly past their prime. For tea enthusiasts, be aware that the tea was basic, akin to tea bag tea. This might be a turn-off for those expecting a more premium experience. Additionally, hygiene standards were concerning. Sugar cubes were left openly accessible, attracting flies and mosquitoes, which were quite noticeable in the warm summer weather. This significantly detracted from the dining experience. For a more enjoyable (and potentially more affordable) experience, I'd recommend exploring the diverse offerings in the ground floor Harrods food hall.

Disappointed! Not the quality and service you expect for the high price tag! Having been to Harrods tea rooms before I was expecting a good standard of service and attention to detail. My booking was for the 10 of May upon arrival there was no one to greet us and we waited for 20 minutes until we got someone's attention. You can see tables with dirty plates and tables not set just a empty table cloth. Finally, a lady approached us and told us to wait in the bar, there was no one in the bar to offer us a drink. Another 10 minutes went by and finally, we got to our table. The staff who served us were friendly and did her job well. The tea was good but the food was disappointing. The bread of the sandwiches was dry as if they had been in the fridge for a long time and the selection was very limited. This was meant to be a very special day for me and the family members visiting London for the first time. I have not received any survey from Harrods to ask me about my experience.

The first thing that struck me was that check in for afternoon tea was very odd.. As you enter there is a reception desk to the left, they then tell you to continue on to reception. You should be able to be clearly see reception on arrival!. You then stand in a q which is one way in and one way out so people are squeezing past to leave or use the loo's. I believe that the 27th of April was the last day of this set up though as the tea rooms are being relocated due to being refurbished so hopefully this will be rectified. The table was fairly simple but there was a pretty flower in a vase which brightened it up. The amuse-bouche was delicious, followed by the sandwiches and cakes, all fairly tasty. The tea was nice and we were offered more sandwiches etc but it wasn't made clear if it was complimentary in with the overall price, and of course we didn't want to embarrass ourselves by asking. We did ask to take away two of the scones which we were charged a cover charge of £2.00 for on top of the service charge. Is that fair?, you can decide that for yourselves.

We attended for a 50th birthday celebration and had a great time! The food was plentiful, tasty and could be restocked if needed. Lots of varying tastes and items to suit everyone. One guest also had some preferences to what they eat (notified the team in advance and they had kept a record which was very appreciated) and this was managed extremely well and those items replaced. The tea selection was vast and everything extremely high quality- we would recommend the cold teas which were amazing. We also had cocktails which were generous and with high alcohol contents. Our server was attentive and never rushed us- we ended up spending around 4 hours at the afternoon tea and enjoyed every bit! The booking process was easy and straightforward but would note that the advice provided wasn't always accurate or helpful. Would really recommend this Afternoon Tea to anyone, especially for special occasions!

I’m convinced this place only exists these days thanks to Instagram. Our Harrods Tea Room visit turned into an epic fail. Service: 0/5. Even though I booked the first reservation of the day to ensure a booth seat, the hostess flat-out refused to seat us in one, despite there being other pairs seated in booths. With lips as artificially plumped as her patronizing attitude, she threw out some excuse about November renovations bringing more booths—as if that was supposed to make us feel better in the moment… I was also asked SEVERAL times if I had any dietary restrictions, despite having clearly noted them in my reservation. They have absolutely no attention to detail. Sandwiches: 2/5. Bland and forgettable. Tea: 1/5. I’ve been to many places for afternoon tea in London. I was utterly surprised by the dismal selection here. It's baffling that they didn't offer ANY spiced black tea, especially when it was clearly visible on the shelf right next to us (see photo). Pastries: 4/5. The only saving grace, but even that ended in disappointment. After I requested the remaining pastries to be packed up, I carefully brought them home only to find them smashed against the sides of the box, rendering them completely inedible. They were tossed in without any care whatsoever. The management at The Harrods Team Room are in desperate need of a complete overhaul.

Halal menu was available for those wondering which is essentially the normal menu thankfully, no need to be a vegetarian. Selection of sandwiches were all delicious, majority of the sweets were good too bar one but overall very good. You are able to ask for refills of anything you like and extra tea is provided. I think it’s worth looking at its review in the Tripadvisor. After visited the place, then looking at the reviews from Tripadvisor, we realized it’s all true. I think Google reviews here are a bit diluted. Everything was just “okay”. Considering how much you spent and what you get then it becomes so much not worth it. We spent the same amount of money in a Michelin 1 or 2 stars restaurant in Lyon and the comparison is night and day. One example, they said everything is refillable in the beginning but when we asked for one of the desserts to be refilled, they said they don’t have it anymore. Another example, when we asked to refills the rest of the desserts, they said the kitchen is already closed. We kind of expect that we would be informed and given a last call if kitchen is to be closed? Especially when we were still within the allowable dining period.

I have held off writing this review as I had reported an incident of suspected food poisoning which gave me diarrhoea within an hour of leaving and resulted in three episodes in the space of an hour or less together with clamminess and sweating. I looked online how soon symptoms can appear and it stated after 30 minutes. I contacted Harrods the next day explaining what had happened and that the experience had been rushed, food did not appear particularly fresh (fruit was clearly not prepared that day and croissant was dry). I explained that despite being allocated 90 minutes for the booking, we had finished the meal in 25 minutes. We felt it was not the luxury experience we envisaged and that it had been a gift. Harrods wrote back today with a fob of email ie they have carried out investigation and given instruction to staff and hope to welcome me back in store soon. Nothing about the rushed or unpleasant experience. Needless to say I have no intention of rushing back to Harrods for anything. There are far nicer places to have afternoon tea in London for a similar price although this was Breakfast at Tiffany’s but what a disappointment. Don’t waste your money.

My husband and I visited Harrods Tea Rooms as our first experience with afternoon tea while on our first ever trip to London. We were very excited to try it, as we had never had afternoon tea before and had read some excellent reviews about the tea service at Harrods. I do have to say it wasn't exactly what I expected. The tea room itself was beautiful. When we arrived, the chandeliers and the fanciful decor really caught our eye, and I loved the pianist who played throughout our time there. The service was... okay. They were friendly while at the table, but for the most part the staff stayed away, which is a mix of both good and bad. Sometimes we had to wait a while for someone to come by if we needed more tea or anything at all. I'm a huge fan of staff not being constantly present, but I do like to have someone at least around so they can be flagged down if needed. The tea was good, so I definitely can't complain about that. And there was a decent mix of good and bad with the sandwiches and desserts. Good enough that we had enough to eat so we weren't hungry (we stopped here after spending all day out walking without eating anything before) but not so good that we just had to eat it all. Overall, I'd say the experience was average. Better than others tea rooms we tried, but definitely not the best. Would I go here again? Maybe if the better tea rooms were booked solid and I really wanted an afternoon tea. Would I recommend it? Also a maybe, though there are certainly other places I would recommend first. But it wasn't bad. So if you're looking for somewhere just to try an afternoon tea in an easy to get to location with minimal fanfare, I say Harrods Tea Rooms is worth a try.

Our visit which was meant to be a real treat for Afternoon Tea was spoiled as it is a thoroughfare for shoppers walking from one department to another. We felt as though we were on show! Extremely uncomfortable and not an enjoyable experience.

Went for a special treat of cream tea. When I booked it I saw all the different vouchers for £40 for 2 but I booked it through Harrods tea rooms thinking it was same price as didn’t see anything on there to say otherwise. Was shocked when I received bill and was for £80 . I asked to speak to manager who told me it’s £40 with a voucher or £80 booked through them. I could not understand why they did not mention it was £80 . Was very badly advertised . Will not go back again

For the amount of money it cost it was such a disappointment. Where we were sat was basically a glorified corridor. It cost £73 per head and the food was nothing special at all either. The service was ok but having some random guy stagger through where we were sitting taking photos of people eating (he didn’t have a table) and then seeing a kid nick sugar cubes off of tables really sort of spoilt it.

Beautiful setting to meet up with friends but disappointment regarding the cuisine. The sandwiches are nothing exceptional (triangles with cream and cucumbers) the pastries unfortunately do not have the level of French pastries. On the other hand, the scones and tea were very good. With the service fees to be added at the end of the bill, I find that the quality/price ratio is not there.

I have been to most of the afternoon tea venues in London and this was the most disappointing. Food was tasty, however as requested informed it was 2 vegetarians and they brought out 1 vegetarian and 1 meat. I had to poor my own tea and this was cold after 30 minutes and well stewed. Service was poor as they only came to the table once apart from bringing food. I requested my coat and was told to go to the desk however had seen them bring coats to 2 other tables . This was not worth the money and the experience was very poor. There are plenty of other places and I would go to them.

The two stars 🌟 🌟 are for service and spaciousness, as the staff were welcoming and attentive and our table was fine. But the setting lacked any real grandeur and the food any wow factor. Edible yes, everyone does that, but there was no joy to the experience. And @ £166.25 for two including service and cover charge, we’d hoped for a memory that engendered a smile. Which were lacking all round. The only one who seemed to be having fun was the pianist playing compilations. Few fellow diners had made any effort to dress, and the guy next to us waiting for his wife and kids was playing noisy videos on his iPhone without headphones, drowning out any last sense of romance. There should be a phone policy in place. But felt so underwhelmed I couldn’t be bothered to complain. It’s not as if we’re ever going back and suggest you don’t to begin.

An exceptional experience! Thank you to everyone who made our Afternoon Tea so memorable, a HUGE thank you to Mario especially who was warm, friendly and tended to our every need. It was my aunt's first time having afternoon tea and he made the experience all the more special for her. All the savoury and sweet options were fresh and tasty, but, the pianist playing 'Twinkle twinkle little star' to my one year old was an absolute treat. We can't wait to come back again!

I forgot to write this review after our visit in October. Very honestly the food was horrific. I remember having tea at Harrods when I was a little girl with my mom and it still is a wonderful childhood memory. I was hoping to create a new memory by taking my girls. The tea was still lovely. The tea is what earned my 1 star review. The food if I could give 0 stars I would. My husband and I barely touched our food after giving everything a try. It was all very honestly inedible. The amount of fennel on the egg salad was gross. Our girls had the junior tea and pretty much left everything except 1 item. The service was okay but it should be exceptional at Harrod's. The waitress should have also recognized that we barely touch our food and should have compensated us with some money off. But we walked away with a 300 pound bill and a very negative opinion of the tea room at Harrods. Next time we are in town we will not be coming at Harrods. Don't waste your money!

Just...WOW! Harrods in general was absolutely amazing! It is HUGE, it is timeless, a must see/do if you are in London. The ladies of our group all went out on this little adventure and made a reservation here. It was good food, great company and a fun experience. Everyone should do it once! Quintessential with London and tea. Servers switched in the middle of service, which I thought was odd so there was a little lag in getting some of our food/tea but still have no complaints. A wide variety of teas, pastries, finger foods, etc. Pianist playing in the background. Very lovely!

!NOTE NOT HALAL! Booked over the phone a month in advance for four people and confirmed that they had halal options and they confirmed that halal options will be available as long as we booked in advance. So we booked a month in advance and got to Harrods and found out the 'halal' option is just substituted with vegetarian options. I was not happy with the misleading and deceiving information (hence the one star). Had I known that Harrods is not aware of the different dietary definitions I would've gone somewhere else. At £75 a head the veg options were not worth it.

What can one say about Harrods Tea Room? Beautiful is one word that comes to mind. The decor is lovely, the food is great and the service was exceptional. If I could change anything about it, it would be to stop the general public who are not having food just walking through the middle of the tables. Otherwise, the afternoon tea was fabulous and good value for money.

So… The service is excellent, the staff are amazing, you are well looked after. The sandwiches for the afternoon tea were delicious but they had probably been made that morning and kept out as the bread was starting to go a little rough to the touch, would still give the food a solid 8/10 though. The reason for such a low score is that the location is AWFUL. I’m not sure that can really sink in properly so it m going to say it again, it’s AWFUL!! The beautifully decorated room sits between children’s wear and the public toilets, then joins up to the Levant Bakery and some more restaurants. The Tea Room therefore is basically like an airport departure lounge with people rushing past you with their shopping/kids/partners in tow going from one place to another. It is not a destination venue, it is a human roundabout. They need to close the path off and send people round the other side of the store and stop the through traffic that really spoilt our afternoon tea and the ambiance.

Save your money! Though Harrods is considered iconic, there are better tea experiences in London. The price per person was $100. (US). We got a few bite size sandwiches which were only memorable because they were so bad! We had both the Vegan and regular. There was an egg salad, smoked salmon (fishy), cucumber, and mystery meat. The desserts were pretty bland and the tea was not exceptional either. Cannot recommend.

Not value for money to pay £75 per person for an afternoon tea. But like the piano playing at the start and end of our tea. 3 layers of pastry just right portion for two person but nothing special in taste. I could pay this price for a great high tea experience in a five star hotel.
