The Georgian Restaurant in Kensington and Chelsea

We had a cream tea yesterday at the Georgian in Harrods which was a present from my husband for me and my Mum. The minute we walked in, the whole experience was magical. The recently refurbished Georgian room was amazing, with beautiful chandelier lights of a massive size, a sumptuous interior design and lovely oval seating areas with spacious tables positioned all the way around the perimeter of the room. Our waiter was Dennis, who was amazing from start to finish. He was so knowledgeable and professional, yet we also felt a real personal connection to him. He brought us the most gorgeous scones, with a choice of five different homemade jams and the richest clotted cream. Tea was plentiful and an inspired recommendation from Dennis, who simply could not do enough for us. The place is beautiful, the food delicious, and the atmosphere so relaxing, helped by the man playing the white piano in the middle of the room; all this, made it a truly memorable afternoon. However, it was Dennis' attentions to us that made it a magical experience.

A lovely quiet afternoon tea and dinner.

The staff are lovely and very attentive, they even have a tea sommelier who can help you match your tea to your treats. We had the afternoon tea for two, the sandwiches were really great and they catered to our dining needs. Very flexible. The mushroom sandwiches are super tangy and delicious, they have some very special unique jams for your scones should you want them as well that you can only get in the resteraunt, was a big fan of the fig jam. The deserts and extra sides were also delicious.

The afternoon tea experience here was exceptional which one would associate with Harrods. They do not have a halal option but there are vegetarian and pescatarian options, we went for latter which meant the duck sandwich replaced by the another salmon sandwich, but our favourite was the cucumber one. Desserts, scones and Georgian blend tea were excellent too. The excellent service and atmosphere did not disappoint either.

I really enjoyed the vegan afternoon tea here. For £75pp, you and a guest can enjoy two mini savouries and a trio of sandwiches - the cucumber one was really refreshing and presented so well. The pear vanilla jam was delicious with the warm scones and oat chantily cream. The beautifully crafted desserts were delicate, dainty and perfectly balanced in flavours. The only thing was the waitress rushing outside to give me the bill when we were having a medical emergency and she looked more concerned about me paying than asking if my guest was ok.

Absolutely lovely!! I came here for a champagne cream tea last weekend and it completely fulfilled my expectations.. and then some! Phenomenal service, amazing atmosphere and delicious food. Highly recommend as a place to visit for afternoon/cream tea.

It was quite an amazing atmosphere and very fancy, we ordered the afternoon tea set menu, which was very well assorted. Denis was quite entertaining and lovely to chat with, also very helpful and took a good care of us. Also, Joy was very attentive and helped us out a lot. The place is very lovely with its staff.

My, oh my. What an absolute treat having afternoon tea at The Georgian was. Stunning settings, simple but classy and elegant. Warm and inviting ambience. Luckily, we were welcomed and seated immediately. It was just after midday, so the venue was quiet, and we had privacy, and we weren't overlooked. Our waiter Harold was a complete darling. The food was superb. Sandwich and savoury selection was delicious, and we were able to have second helpings. The tea selection was phenomenal. The variety may be overwhelming for some, but nonetheless, fantastic. Our scones were warm and freshly baked with the different accompanied selection of homemade jams, all of which were extremely tasty. The cakes and pastries were incredible and again, you could also get second helpings. We weren't rushed, and we could take as long as we liked. Staff kept a check but wasn't imposing. A pianist played as the venue became busy. There were many solo diners, too. We were so full up, we couldn't manage to eat everything and so we were able to take our food home, we were also given a little extra. By far, this was a lovely experience and an absolute must for those who love afternoon tea.

Nice place, with some nice touches, though some of the decor borders on kitsch. Had the creme tea, my rating is commensurate to the price, it was about 50% more expensive than value . Suggestion is spend your money at the food halls downstairs , far,far,better

We celebrated a birthday with afternoon tea which was the best I've ever had. I am coeliac and the gluten free (and vegan) options were absolutely outstanding. Unusual and innovative flavour combinations meant that everything was a surprise and delight. Service was friendly and nothing was too much trouble for the charming servers, a special name check for Nora and Dennis. I thoroughly recommend you treat yourselves.

Stunning venue and incredible food! The recently renovated Georgian restaurant - a little hidden on the 4th floor of Harrods - has had a spectacular make over, meaning that dining there now is akin to what it might’ve been like during the golden age of travel in a luxury cruise ship. Beautiful decor and huge chandeliers with a resident pianist to accompany the meal. It’s renowned for its pies - we had a lobster one and a chicken one, both superb - but their signature is a lamb pie for two. Starters and snacks were also packed with flavour, and the nostalgic dessert of trifle was among the best I’ve ever eaten. The service - from the welcome by Denis, the wine served by an enthusiastic Hungarian gentleman, and Shah our waitress, was spot on, efficient and friendly but not over-bearing. A great visit all round - and I’d imagine their afternoon tea (which they serve earlier in the day) is just as good as well!

The newly refurbished restaurant is nothing but utter class and beauty. Service was impeccable and afternoon a sheer delight. The children absolutely loved their afternoon tea! It's going to be a storming success so booking in advance would be needed.

The Georgian in my opinion is the best restaurant in Harrods. The atmosphere is incredible and the food is just as good. Ordering the Georgian pie is a must and it is a huge portion. There are many accompanying sides and it is all meticulously prepared. The live piano adds to the amazing ambience. Definitely recommend a visit over the other restaurants if visiting Harrods!

I recently visited The Georgian at Harrods for afternoon tea, and while the environment is undeniably beautiful, the overall experience left much to be desired. Sandwiches: The bread, particularly the brown and sun-dried varieties, was dry, which overshadowed the otherwise impressive fillings.Scones: Unfortunately, the scones were overly crumbly and not gluten-free, as confirmed by the waitress. Scones are often the heart of afternoon tea, and this was a letdown. Service: The supervisor lacked warmth and was unhelpful, approaching our table with a cool and indifferent demeanour . For such a high-end experience, the lack of hospitality was disappointing. Ambiance: While the environment was lovely, the pianist was situated very close to our table, making it difficult for my friend and me to hear each other. It disrupted what should have been a relaxing and intimate afternoon. For the premium price, I expected much better service, a well-thought-out ambiance, and a memorable culinary experience. Sadly, The Georgian fell short, and I won’t be returning.

Probably the best afternoon tea I have been to in London. The revamped Georgian and menu is phenomenal. Sandwiches were innovative including a savoury tart and celeriac tower. Jams homemade and pastries top notch. Special thanks to the tea sommelier Michal for such dedication to the craft of teas and perfectly matching our food to the tea. I'm really disappointed, I booked afternoon tea for two for my mum as a Christmas present and the food was disgusting. The best of the three sandwiches was the cucumber. It was just about edible, but tasted very strongly of mint which was just odd and very overpowering. Everything else was really bad, especially the onion tart which made me gag. I guess people have different tastes but I've had afternoon tea at the Savoy, the Ritz and Harrods albeit many years ago and it has always been a fantatsic experience, which this was not. I will say that the staff were attentive and friendly and the ambiance was nice.

An exceptional meal, the food was sensational and our waiter, Dennis couldn’t have been more attentive if he tried, he was a total delight. 5*, would highly recommend for dinner

The staff, upon arrival, are attentive from the start. You are prepped for your experience once you reach your table. Everything was beautifully placed. The Harrods Brut Champagne was dazzling! If I did the tea again, I wouldn't do the vegan tea. The sandwiches were not very flavorful. The scones were great, and most of the pastries were also good. The White Peony Tea was amazing! It was an experience that I do recommend. With that being said, I would ask more about what's to be served, maybe before arrival based on preferences.

I had Champagne Tea with my granddaughters, the service was wonderful. Daniel was really polite and helpful, specially towards my youngest granddaughter as it’s 1st for her.

Our experience at the Georgian was a highlight of our trip. Dennis made it extra special and the service was incredible.

Really lovely, elegant afternoon tea. Our waiter was wonderful and so attentive and new tea sommelier, Mihail, made the experience even more special with his passion for the teas and his exacting brewing. He was happy to share his knowledge and experience and did so with an enthusiasm that made us want to come back to learn more. He really should be doing masterclasses, if he isn’t- The food was of course exceptional. This was such a fun and delicious experience! (And thank you to the sommelier for mentioning Harrods’ relationship with Dom Perignon- it was the perfect pairing).

We went for afternoon tea. Despite having a booking we had to wait quite a bit before our table was ready. The venue itself is lovely with nice furniture, chandeliers etc but at times it felt like being at McDonald's. People had they overcoats piled up on chairs. Random people walking in taking pictures etc. we were quite in front of the hall so maybe if you request a table in the back of the room you will have better experience. Once we got our table we were advised that our server would be Caroline. Throughout the afternoon tea I don't think we met Caroline. But we met many other servers who were rushingly delivering our dishes and occasionally forgetting our requests for extra clotted cream or water. Food was actually really nice, exactly what would you expect at Harrods afternoon tea. Tea selection is superb. Aah...the toilets are very far and not easy to find (Harrods is a maze lol). We heard quite few comments about that from other tables.

Just returned home from the Georgian,tock my daughter for her 15th birthday and what a wonderful experience we had ,a little extra shout out to dennis who made our day very special we had a blast, felt like royalty 😁 very happy very excited to return.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a special treat for afternoon tea. We were sent an email to confirm and it asks you to advise of any all etc. and also upload a picture so that they can recognize you and greet you on arrival. They didn’t recognize us in arrival…. But we were taken to a lovely table in a booth. The restaurant is beautifully decorated as it was recently refurbished and has lovely chandeliers and plush booths. Our servers were pleasant enough. But service was a little slow. Started with 3 sandwiches a caramelised onion tartlet and one other savoury. You could have seconds but we didn’t as we weren’t sure how much more was going to arrive. Sandwiches were delicious. Next were the cakes which were 3 cakes and then a fruit and regular scone served with clotted cream and a choice of 4 homemade jams. Cakes were nice but very rich. Overall a nice atmosphere with a pianist playing. I would suggest requesting a booth as some tables were very close to each other that were not in booths. A little expensive at £75 with an additional service charge on top. Nice place for a special occasion.

If a bit more time for each session of booking, that would be 110% satisfaction of this wonderful end of year celebration! My favourite tea is Rose , as always, it matches perfectly with both sweet & savoury bites !

On our Newyears trip to London: Afternoon Tea at Harrods was an unforgettable, unique and wonderful experience! The Georgian is beautiful: with it's decor and live piano music. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. Most especially our waiter: Denis, was exceptionally attentive, knowledgeable and kind. The sandwiches, scones and pastries were sumptuous and the tea blended especially for Harrods was delicious! We loved how relaxing the afternoon tea, setting and Denis, made us feel. Thanks so much for a wonderful memory.

I will start this by saying that this was my first time at an afternoon tea. I would expect, if you enjoyed afternoon tea, that The Georgian is an amazing experience. The servers are incredible, the service itself is something I will never forget. However, there are a few things I will note. I assume if you are a regular consumer of afternoon tea, you would like the finger sandwiches. I did not like them. That is not why I took away on my rating. I just think that though it was a good experience, I have had better at places that did not have a 75 pound per person cost. Also, when I was making my reservation, I saw a review which complained about the bathroom being far away. They were not kidding. I thought they were exaggerating. The nearest bathroom is in the women’s section, two and a half long hallways away from the restaurant. It was messy when I went and had a line going out into the shoe section. Actually very inconvenient. My reservation was at 5:30 pm on 12/29. Harrod’s closes at 6, so most of the store was shut down for the night at that point. There was no instruction on where to exit. My party wandered about the store for about 15 minutes trying to find an open exit, as all had already been shut down. Maybe this is an uncommon problem, but it was a problem nonetheless. Honestly, if you like afternoon tea and know Harrod’s like the back of your hand, you’re in good hands.

We visited The Georgian at Harrods and had an overall great experience. The staff were incredibly attentive and kind, and there was an excellent selection of hot beverages. We opted to add a glass of champagne, which was a lovely touch. The food was delicious and surprisingly generous, with the staff continuously offering more than expected. They were also very accommodating with allergies or dietary preferences, providing an alternative menu when needed. Unfortunately, our seating was near a family with three children playing loud playground games, which disrupted the otherwise elegant atmosphere. While we appreciated the pianist’s beautiful performance, it was difficult to enjoy due to the noise. We informed the staff, who addressed the situation promptly, for which we were grateful. However, I wouldn’t recommend bringing young children to this environment, as it’s better suited to a more tranquil dining experience. Overall, we still had a great experience and would recommend.

A unique festive moment, with well researched food. But above it all bites, Dennis made it a really festive experience. He made it very convivial without any fuss. Beware, toilets are in a land far far far away

Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The lady we had was super nice and attentive; she would tell you if there was any extra charges to your bill as well. I would recommend if you book prior a table because on the day I went (Saturday) it was fully booked and a lot of people were turned away. The rose tea was really nice and the scones were just right. I would definitely recommend using the cloak room (which was free). I would go again!

We were very excited for our afternoon tea at the Georgian at Harrods. We expected to be there for a few hours, which was a great way for us to spend the afternoon. The sommelier reviewed the different champagnes. We declined after giving it some thought and he said, “that’s what I thought.” I was really disappointed to hear that as a customer. After that, we waited about 30-45 minutes to meet our waiter. That took a lot from the experience in a very negative way. The options for the different types of teas were great. The sandwiches were nicely prepared and tasty. The scones and Jams were delicious. The desserts were very good too. Unfortunately, the first dish with short rib in the classic menu was not offered. We asked about it since no one told us and we were informed there was a sign stating so! I think for 75+ pounds per person, the expectations for service are much higher, especially for Harrods. This place has really gone down hill. I will not return next time. Unfortunately, the great work being done by the chef is just poorly served by the awful service here.

My family loves afternoon tea. We’ve tried The Ritz, Fortnum & Mason, And the list goes on and on.. The Georgian (@Harrods 4th floor) is by far the best we’ve experienced in London. The atmosphere is beautiful. Harrods is bustling but once you enter the corridor of The Georgian it is peaceful and elegant. The seating is perfect and comfortable. The decor is elegant. The service is perfectly excellent. The best part is the actual afternoon tea. From the tea offerings, to the wonderful selection of finger sandwiches, to the meticulously made dessert platter and amazing scones with their 4 unique in-house jams, the entire experience will leave you with fond memories until you can return for another afternoon tea. By far the best we’ve experienced! If you’re thinking about it, just reserve a table and go be prepared to be pleasantly surprised! It is simply divine!

A high-bar afternoon tea with a range of interesting and delicious flavours. The children’s afternoon tea was a real hit, and delighted our 1.5 year old. Great service and quality overall, especially at the price range.

A top afternoon tea experience tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Harrods. The live music and grand decor help guests feel like they have stepped into the highs of 1900’s nightlife. A very must deserved thank you to all of the staff that took such great care of us and we’re all fantastic. A special mention for Denis who was fun, enthusiastic and passionate - always the sign of a hospitality great! We will be back mob handed no doubt.

A wonderful afternoon tea experience in a stunning yet cosy art Deco sparkling room. The seating arrangement is very comfortable & offers privacy with a full vista over the richly decorated room. The service was excellent, Dennis looked after us marvellously while Mikhail, the tea sommelier recommended with expertise some delicious teas accompanying the food delicately & matching our requirements and tastes. The superb sandwiches and pastries were very tasty and wonderfully refined. We'll be back for the spring menu!

Tea at The Georgian was an amazing and delectable experience, made even better by our charming and attentive waiter Dennis, who ensured we had everything we could possibly need. Everything was delicious and lovely, from the unique and flavorful sandwiches, to the homemade scones with four different jams and clotted cream, to the exquisite pastries. And the tea! I highly recommend the black currant and hibiscus! Thank you Dennis and The Georgian for a lovely and unforgettable time.

This was a great experience to have tea at The Georgian. The food was excellent and well presented. Staff were very attentive. Decor was grand and tables well enough apart, so you didn't feel cramped. We had a sofa booth. I would definitely go again. The only drawback was that the toilets were a bit of a walk away and if you are elderly or disabled you may find that difficult.

I went today for an afternoon tea. The food was nice, but the whole experience/service was just ok. Our waitress didn’t make me feel particularly welcoming, she came across rushed and impersonal. I was hungry and I knew I wouldn’t eat much of the pastries/cakes as I am not a big fun of them, but I didn’t feel relaxed about asking for more sandwiches. We waited quite a long time for the tea to arrive, which arrived only after the sandwiches and after we asked where our tea was.She offered us only mineral water, without the option of tap water. Most of the tables around me had tap water. All other staff seems nice and smiling though. I wasn’t sure I could also asked for more scones neither, she didn’t explained too much. A few years ago I had an afternoon tea at Harrods (not the Georgian) and I had a much better experience; we went home with a lovely box of scones and pastries, also our Italian waiter was really nice. Moreover , they use just normal plates which removes a bit of the beauty of the classic pyramid plated of a typical afternoon tea. Overall the experience was somewhat disappointing.

Arrived at 8.45pm they close at 22.30pm and didn’t want to sit me. Shame

Enjoyed a Harrods cream tea. Tip is ask to be moved if seated at the table by the loud piano. I ordered my fave Jasmine Dragon Pearls but was told they ran out so that was disappointing. You'd think they could restock from the Food Hall. The choice of jams were strawberry and raspberry. Hard to tell apart as not labelled when both placed on the table. My friend preferred raspberry and I strawberry. The scones were warm and fluffy. There was a one hour time limit for the tea. Not enough time for me to finish the second scone while conversing with my friend. Felt pressured as the end of the booked hour came up. In 2024 they now mix the strawberry and raspberry jam! And when requesting one nondairy cream tea they serve dairy until you ask to speak to someone senior who then brings out nondairy. Then when the waiter apologises for bringing out 2 dairy cream teas and offered a champagne on the house, he brought prosecco! I complained to the sommelier who then offered complimentary harrods vintage champagne. Service in 2024 in their refurbished Georgian tea room has significantly diminished.

Beautiful end to our trip. Nice reception, a beautiful hall and even a piano player for a certain time. The sandwiches were very cleverly prepared and incredibly tasty. The scones arrived fresh and warm in a wooden box. And the tarts were a taste experience. Our waitress Marco was always friendly and helpful. The tea was delicious. We were offered sandwiches and tarts (apart from the extra specialties) after each course. Also a second pot of tea. Anyone who books here and complains about the price should know. You also pay for the ambience, the piano player and the service.

Had an impeccable experience at the Georgian with an afternoon tea. The service from Nicola was fantastic - warm, friendly and welcoming. We felt at home despite being in splendorous surroundings. The sandwiches were excellent, the teas were a true experience and the cakes were sumptuous. Can’t ask for more.
