The best restaurants serving British food in London

We both visited the Market today and came across this small restaurant in the centre of the Market seemed to pull us both in , with the promise of a very nice meal , we decided to have lunch, we both had Gammon egg and chips , and a tea , it came and very good it was too, surprised there wasn't many more people in eating , we will be definitely visiting there again when we go to the Market in the future ,it was Clean and well run I would recomend it to anyone couples or families , it's perfect hence the Exelent recommendation.

A neighbour had recommended Paloma but we hadn't booked for Saturday lunch. Good welcome and a very good value lunch menu at 16.50 for 2 courses (desserts on a separate menu). My wife can be choosy about her food (in to healthy eating) but she was delighted, as was I . We both had squid fried in child and salmon (served very hot and perfectly cooked : crisp skin and fish moist). Excellent, attentive service. The greatest compliment I can pay is that I have just booked Christmas Day lunch there .

Me gusta este lugar. Es un café vegetariano - nunca había probado la comida, pero parece muy rico. Es tranquilo, hay un montón de buenos lugares para estudiar, y la estética es agradable. Terrible meal. The starters are a waste of time, the vegetables have been sitting there for a couple of hours, The only decent thing to say is that there is plenty of meat.

For the tall people out there just bear in mind to duck most of the way around.

Overpriced food and poor customer service. £20 for this fish and chips?!

I had an amazing time with my family & the food was delicious!! Grace looked after us and she was superb in making sure everything was okay. We will definitely be coming back again x

good selection of food. /sandwiches made to order. no menu displayed but cooked food - eggs bacon, etc available, soup ..., I got a cream cheese and smoked salmon bagel, really good value

We hadden er al eerder willen eten, maar helaas…er was geen plek, alle tafeltjes waren bezet. We snappen waarom… Het is een leuke plek, fijne en gezellige uitstraling. Vandaag hadden we geluk, er was een tafeltje vrij. We werden gastvrij welkom geheten door Teja! Het eten en drinken is goed verzorgd, de sfeer is goed. Je voelt je welkom. Het personeel is vriendelijk en gastvrij. Een echte aanrader!

Beautiful pub with lots of history inside. Upstairs away from the bar is a cosy, classy, and spacious function room with a view of the city. We had the best time here for our Christmas Party. Will definitely be back and highly recommended. Joao and Ian were amazing hosts.

It's the first visit for me to have breakfast and drink in Greenwich. Very cosy and warm food with a light budget. free wifi and clean toilet are also good for a traveller.

Very good food and service. We shared Scotch egg(!) and chicken pie, Guinness and white wine. (But we're Swiss...Very tasty. Highish prices typical of London
