Had a great visit to this pub. The food and service was fab and I can't wait to come back and see what they have done after the refurb!

Had a very splendid evening here last night with a couple of friends. I was recommended this pub by a colleague at work, and it did not disappoint! Wonderful food, crisp and refreshing beer, and very friendly staff who went above and beyond to make our experience as lovely as possible. We had a drink before dinner in one of their outside garden sheds which was snug, clean, and felt like we had our own heated booth! Then inside to another cosy corner by the windows, where my friends and I had one too many of their all-too tempting pale ales, before a delectable dinner of fish and chips! My highest compliments to the Pub's chefs. Overall, an extremely enjoyable experience with friends at an establishment that rightfully takes pride in being tucked away and understated, best enjoyed by those that appreciate classic yet delicious food and drink, staff that go above and beyond, and a pub that feels like home away from home.

Very poor customer experience. AVOID. Rolled up at 22.20 for an evening drink and to do some emails. Manager told me that he wouldn’t serve me as the pub “had been dead for an hour” and they had turned “all the tills off” and shut. Pub doors open and people were in the pub. Disinterested and couldn’t care less. Coat and Badge up the road however delighted to serve. Cannot recommend on this experience.

Had two meals including Sunday lunch. I thought the Sunday lunch was expensive but the beef was very nice. Nice atmosphere nice staff. I shall be back.

Visited here on Sunday evening for a meal after being recommended by a friend. It did not disappoint! We hadn’t booked a table in advance, but this was no problem for the excellent staff. We were served by two females during our time there, I’m afraid I didn’t catch their names, but both made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, and they made the entire visit a pleasure. We ordered a roast dinner each, and some cauliflower cheese on the side. We couldn’t actually finish the side, so it was boxed up for us at the end without fuss! All the food was delicious, hot, and came out swiftly. Good selection of lagers, ales, gins from what I could see. The place was nice and clean, quirky decor (garden themed!), and a nice little terrace out front with extra tables within cool little sheds. Gem of a pub, one of the best in the area, do not hesitate to come here if you are considering somewhere new to try! It is in a quiet residential area, so parking may not be available for everyone. Will be back to try our luck at the pub quiz!

Walking the Thames Path, and lost bearings a bit but made up for by finding the Jolly Gardeners. Really nice pub, great food and great choice in beers even if most not to my taste. Nive pods out front, large inside & heated secliuded dining area out back. Pity not nearer..

Favourite pub in Putney. Outside area which includes cabins as well as an open area (canopy covers entire area if it rains) . Dog and child friendly. Bar staff are great. Haven’t tried the food, only drinks.

Good food but lunch for three with 2 pints cost £98 and its not worth it. Food is good, though don't bother with the nachos which are meant to be a sharing dish but only have enough salsa/guacamole for a child - and are £10. Nice pub, lovely outside space with cool sheds to sit in, friendly staff but too expensive for pub food.

Ordered the burger night burger from the menu, which advertised as coming with onion rings. When they weren't on the plate, I questioned this and was told they don't come as part of the deal. I queried this & pointed out their inclusion on the menu, only to be told that an old version of the menu had been put out and the menu given would not be honoured. Not dealt with in a very professional manner.

We passed by many times so we decided to go there last night, Friday night. The place was busy but it is so spacious inside we found a table. The bartender was friendly and chatty, there’s a good selection of wines and beers. I wished I looked around when we walked in as there are 4 chalets with heathers… by the time I saw them, two couples got them! Didn’t fancy food but we saw the menu and there are vegan options!!! Definitely will come back for dinner! Can’t wait for the weather to be nice so we can sit outside.

I love this pub...especially the outdoor area with its chalet-style outhouses which have individual heaters. The pub itself is spacious and has a good menu with a variety of foods and wines. Definitely a pub to spend some time alone or with friends as it has a friendly laid-back atmosphere.

Stopped in for a quick drink after a day out shopping and getting my nails done. The team was super helpful and friendly, garden was super cute with little huts and flowers on tables, cider was cold and served with a smile. We ended up staying all afternoon!

I was able to get a table for the Euros final last Sunday at the pub, the staff were brilliantly accommodating putting up with all of my changes of plan, even when more people in my party turned up than I anticipated. The staff Adele, Wendy, Harriett and Gemma were very helpful and attentive. I was lucky to be there for the game. England may have lost the game, but the Jolly Gardeners have gained a customer! 5 stars and a brilliant experience. Thank you!

Great little pub! Dog friendly, staff are lovely & food is worth a revisit! It’s super close to Putney Bridge, only a few minutes from the high street.

Good service and I understand allowances in these Covid times have to be made but expensive food with small plate portions are no excuse.

He estado en este pub varias veces a lo largo de los años. Ayer por la noche con la familia nos sentamos afuera en el clima cálido y disfrutamos de un servicio realmente amable, seguro y sin complicaciones por parte del personal. Excelente cerveza (y vino), acompañada de comida de primera calidad de la cocina.

A wonderful, spacious and cosy pub with a lovely garden outside the front. Amazing rotating beer range as well as fantastic ales. Friendly staff and the best roast in Putney, do a good lunch deal and show all the sport you could think off!

Voy a este pub con bastante regularidad, es pequeño y muy amable, el personal es encantador y dispuesto a complacer. Es un pub para niños y perros en la calle principal de Putney en una calle lateral tranquila y no muy lejos del río. Siempre hay asientos y mesas que nunca hemos tenido que ponernos de pie, incluso en las horas punta los domingos. Pedimos ver el final del Tour de Francia y ellos nos complacieron y nos lo pusieron felizmente. After a glorious stroll along the river with my little pooch, stumbled on the Jolly Gardeners, little secret, off the hustle and bustle of the high street. I had the most lovely warm welcome from the staff, they let me try the varied range of craft offerings. Ordered the vegan lasagne (diet appropriate) was delicious, thank you. Little jester got his own water bowl without asking. Will come back for sure. Staff so attentive and happy. Nice to find a decent well run pub.

Went in to meet a friend for lunch. No joy. Had a big Christmas table of people in for lunch so they were not serving any food to anyone else at all. Got a drink anyway. Pretty cold as well in there. Not exactly the most welcoming or warmest of places. I won’t bother again.

After finding this pub on Trip Advisor my mum and I decided to pop in for Sunday lunch whilst out for a walk along the river - and it was a great decision! Good atmosphere and friendly staff but most importantly the food was delicious. We both had a veggie roast (nut roast), the flavours were great especially of the nutroast itself, the gravy and the red cabbage. What's more, the pub also had 2 separate ladies toilets so has definitely spotted what can often be a pain point in an outing (the queues for the ladies!) We also spotted some great little cabins outside where you can gather friends for a drink or two, so we'll be back another day to use those. All in all a great lunch - thanks!

This is a very atmospheric pub. The outside tables are "housed" in attractive "gardeners' sheds" and even on a chilly night, provide a nice place to drink beer! The interior is nicely decorated as well. The staff is friendly and efficient, and they hold weekly Pub Quiz nights, which are a draw for many! The food and beer were exceptional. The menu was very attractive as well. You'd never know it was here unless someone told you, since it's a few blocks off the busy High Street...Check it out! It's worth a look!

Visited on a week night and was very impressed. Pub was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. We each ordered a chicken Caesar salad, and it was absolutely delicious! It's hard to get excited about a salad, but having tried many at many different establishments, this was head and shoulders above the competition!Staff were attentive but not annoying and really made you feel welcome.At the end of the night my phone died just after I'd ordered my cab. After waiting half an hour for the cab I started to panic (woman outside alone, quiet residential street, no cab in sight). I ventured back into the pub (well after last orders, they were clearing up) where the barman used his own phone to call my cab and establish its whereabouts! Didn't expect to really have an opinion on a random Thursday night pub outing! But I would highly recommend this place.

They have recently changed their menus and the choices are far better. The Camembert platter is a great share. Always a nice atmosphere.

Not a bad pub, plenty of room inside with a couple of wood burning fires. Having said that it was rather cold on my visit to the point of having to keep my coat on, however I understand that the heating may have broken down at the time I visited. This pub has nice big tables to sit around, a good varied menu and the food tasted good too. Staff polite and attentive, overall a good enjoyable visit, will be even better once the heating is fixed.

5 of us booked a table for lunch for 12.45. Our food arrived at 13.55!! It was quite clear there was not enough staff on duty but still took food orders. One bar man only who did his best.For this reason I would not recommend this place.

Visited the Jolly Gardeners for a farewell dinner/ night out for a colleague.Spot on to the organiser, because this venue was fun!!Food fresh and tasty and arrived promptly.Lots of fun and frolics in our group, but never did I feel that we were not welcomed.Definitely a place to revisit!!

I came here with a group of friends for our Christmas dinner on 7th Dec and had a very enjoyable experience. We loved the decor (and the cute little huts in the garden), the food was great and the staff were friendly and super attentive. Overall we all had a lovely evening and we'll definitely be going back :).

We had a fab night here to celebrate Christmas with the work team on 2nd December. The food we had from the 3 course Xmas Menu was really delicious, everyone enjoyed the food and the service was really great. This is a lovely pub and would recommend anyone to go here. It really didn't disappoint.

I visited here on Saturday last and ordered a burger and beer for the best part of £20. What arrived on my plate was a complete shock. A tiny miniature burger that wouldn't feed a toddler. A few chips and some sauce. To top it all off was this unbearable stench of sewage like a stink bomb. We were told there was a plumbing issue which also prevented them serving me the Camden Pale Ale I originally ordered. So we were forced to finish our meal/drinks in the beer garden. The meal left me feeling so angry, insulted and ripped off. I can only hope someone recognises this asap and starts serving up decent portions to match the prices customers are forking.

I started coming to Jolly Gardeners for lunch after my NCT class - there are a few places in Putney where it isn't a problem to have lunch with other mums. There isn't a huge space for prams but they are so accommodating you feel comfortable going there. The food is great! I appreciate the seasonable menu - I've had the chicken burger as well as the chicken salad which were both delicious. Most recently I organised a Christmas lunch with 7 other mums and the Christmas buffet option was excellent value - everything was delicious and the service was great. We had such a great time there so would happy to arrange a similar type of event there in the future.The atmosphere is cozy and casual - feels like you're at someone's house which appeals to us mums on maternity leave.

Very nice secluded pub . Was warm and inviting and presented a good atmosphere . The food was good and served fairly quickly . Service needs some improvement as it was not that busy when we visited and it seemed like they were struggling in certain areas . Overall I did like the place and the food and would come back here again and recommended to others.

The staff are incredibly accommodating. The happily let us switch tables and the waitress even managed to get us each an extra Yorkshire at no cost! The beef was a little fatty but I've had their Sunday roast in the past and this is the first time that was an issue, so I think it was just a temporary blip.It's fast becoming my favourite pub in Putney. I think we'll be going back for most of our Sunday lunches this winter!

Came here one day for some early evening drinks - ended up staying far longer than originally planned thanks to the great atmosphere both inside and outside the pub (as well as the selection of board games!). Staff also really friendly towards my friends and I. Highly recommended - will be back soon!

Great pub, favourite watering hole in Putney. Excellent Ale and beer selection and superb food to match. Staff are very friendly and the inside of the pub and outside areas make it perfect no matter what the weather is doing! Would recommend to anyone short of ideas whether it be for a quick pint, dinner or a steady session...

This pub is just around the corner from my workplace so I've been here many times. In particular the outside (heated) sheds are such a delight. There are plenty of very pretentious places nearby but I find this one to be a great all-rounder. The prices are not cheap but are the same as most of the other local establishments. The food is tasty and could probably be best described as posh pub food. The staff are always friendly and service is good.

Popped in for lunch. Very warm, clean and friendly atmosphere. The staff are very attentive. Not an overly massive choice in the menu but I prefer that. I like a restaurant that offers less but is good at what it does provide. We went for fish and chips a quin and carrot salad and one of their specialty bacon and cheese burgers. The food was delicious and well presented. There is no fuss here. It's good quality food at a reasonable price. For the food plus 3 teas and a lemon juice we paid £54.20 which was not bad at all. Worth a visit.

I have only just started visiting the Jolly Gardener having been in Putney for a little over a year now. Why I didn't drop in sooner I don't know but I wish I had. This place is great. Excellent food - I ate here for the first time last night with family which coincided with quiz night. Pub was full with a good crowd of people of all ages. Lot of 20-30 somethings. Beer is excellent and the service is everything you'd hope for and more. This is my new local and I am very proud to have such a well run pub down the road from me.

Just off the beaten track but worth the short walk. You feel like you are in the middle of the country and can have a range of good beers and ales. The food is also very good

Having been a regular for the past several months, last weekend was the first time my family tried the Sunday roast. It is by far the best Sunday roast in Putney (apart from my own of course). Excellent food, good value for money, and served by the most efficient and pleasant staff. We will be back. Do not miss out on this gem in Putney.Michael G.

Arrived around 11am meeting a couple of friends for a catch up. Started off with some delicious craft beers, then treated ourselves to a breakfast/brunch (also very nice). Then spent the afternoon outside playing the pub's own version of Ticket To Ride in the sun.

This place was awesome to hangout and grab a beer at. The downfall was they close the outdoor patio very early. If you smoke they don't allow you to step outside with your drink after the patio is closed. Very chill place inside.

I visited the Jolly Gardeners earlier this month with an old friend earlier in the month and we loved the atmoshphere. It was obvious that the stuff know their stuff about beer and the selection was really impressive, a few stalwart ales for easy-drinking as well as 3 or 4 really interesting guest craft beers.In the end, we couldn't resist getting some food once we'd seen the table next tucking into theirs. We opted for the small plates so that we could try a bit of everything and certainly weren't disappointed.We ended the evening in the front beer garden sat in the sun with an Aperol Spritz. I have a feeling this will be a regular spot over the summer, would definitely recommend it.

I visited the Jolly Gardeners on a Saturday afternoon for lunch with a friend. The pub is a few minutes walk from the main high street and has a lovely front garden you walk through to enter the pub. It has a lovely bright interior, and there were many different kinds of social occasions, including rugby on a large screen, coexisting within the space. We sat outside in these sweet little beach huts. I ordered the vegetarian burger and it was no trouble for the team to upgrade my fries to sweet potato fries and add goats cheese. I also followed the bar tender's drink recommendation and it was delicious - my friend commented on the excellent drinks range they have there. All in all the atmosphere was great, service was friendly and prompt and the food delicious. I hope to be able to return on a evening soon and have a few more drinks!

I love The Jolly Gardeners, I have been here a couple of times now. Great atmosphere and very knowledgeable bar staff - the gentleman who served me gave me tasters of their craft beers and didn't rush me into a decision. Also happily gave me a glass of tap water with ice and lemon, which seems like a daft thing to be appreciative of but I always find that pubs who serve you tap water with a smile is indicative of good service. Would happily return and recommend to friends.

I have visited The Jolly Gardeners numerous time and always have found it to be an enjoyable experience. The pub has a great atmosphere and lovely decor - my favourite feature of the pub are the painted sheds in the beer garden! The pub quiz on a Tuesday night is great fun for a mid week get together with friends. The eye candy behind the bar also enhances an evening out! All in all, a great pub

We have unfortunatly had many issues with not so Jolly Gardners. Ordered a burger with bacon on it but there was no bacon the waitor just said sorry. They had menus on the tables with a special of 2 course for £10 (or there abouts). We chose our courses and when ordering them i realised they had charged me for both course for each person, I queried this and the lady behind the bar said that special was only for lunch time. I asked her to show me where it states that on the menu and she couldnt because it didnt say it was for lunch only. I tink asked why the lunch menus were out at night mine and she informed me that it was the evening menu? That doesnt make any sense - hence we left and havent een back.

Great atmosphere, as soon as you walk through the door, we were warmly greeted by one of the bar team and led to the bar . Good customer service all round and the staff were well coordinated, so bar queue was never long! Great food and selection wasn't overly complicated. Duty Manager assisted us with our food choice and had excellent knowledge of which drink best accompanied it. Would recommend to all!

We have a dog and the first time in, they made sure to ask if we needed a bowl of water for the dog and the have treats. The food menu is excellent and varied. The wine and beer perfect. Lovely local pub in Putney. Will be going back again and again.....

Redesigned in 2015 with better interiors and completely refreshed outdoor section with mini huts for groups of people, looks cool and keeps you out of the drizzle or shades you from the sun. Inside there are 3 main sections for seating and dining or to keep you separate if you want to host a bday event. Good selection of ales on tap. Staff friendly and helpful. Very close to the high street but also tucked away so you don't know if unless you're a local or reading reviews about it. Good vibe, though food is average. Normally better quality food at the Dukes Head but the vibe isn't quite the same. This pace shows rugby and occasionally footy matches, though its not a sports pub in essence and viewing angles are ok but aren't ideal.

I was just served a chicken pie with meat colder than my freezer....must be unsafe.Nice for drinks with a good range of beers, avoid the food.
