Unplanned lunch out with husband, mum & dad to celebrate my 65 birthday . Welcoming staff , although menu was uninspiring with vegetarian meals. Mum did have the tasty halloumi flatbread I did miss my favourite chicken Caesar salad 🥗 though .

Great pub, good priced drinks, food was very nice Lovely atmosphere. Ollie was very helpful, we will definitely be back.

Service was brilliant. Made hot chocolates for our young boys adding cream and Mars bars. Felt like it was no trouble. Food was good and a BOGOF on burgers on Thursday. Definitely recommend.

Unfortunately there was a mix up on our food order but Shaye quickly rectified the problem in a very professional and pleasant way. The food was great value with a good atmosphere in the Pub.

Come for the burger night buy one get one free on burgers on a Thursday excellent burgers best I've had in a long while very tasty and excellent value. Had a great evening with my 2 brothers. Anna was very helpful and gave us great service I highly recommend this pub to all local residents. Excellent food and a great atmosphere.

Really good all around, great service from the bar staff and tasty food. Anna was very polite and delivered exceptional service. Food came up quick and nothing was too much trouble for them. Was very reasonably priced too (under £20 for a double burger and a pint) Would highly recommend!!!!

Spur of the moment decision to have lunch in a local pub. To be honest, we've driven past many times and never thought to pay a visit but friends kept telling me what a nice place it is. We were greeted by welcoming staff member (Beverley). We received a very courteous service at the bar from the new manager Peter too. The food was tasty and hot and we didn't have to wait very long. It was lovely clean too and had a multitude of larger options. 100% will make this a regular place to visit and will tell my friends.

I recently visited Jolly Fenman, a pub that's quite unique in many ways. Visited today for a family birthday lunch. A very warm welcome from the staff. Very helpful with allergen advice. All of the food arrived quickly and at the same time even though there were 9 of us. All of the food was very good and good portion sizes

As retired couples it can be difficult to find somewhere to meet up for lunch that is comfortable but also patient with us as older customers. The Jolly Fenman service is fantastic making us feel valued as customers. The food is wonderful. The ambience even for lunchtime is great and the price point perfect. We will make this a regular lunch spot.

All the staff and their service was great bev and her cousin and the manager especially enjoyed watching the euros there just a shame it didn't come home but will be back some time for sure

Me and the missus decided to visit to eat and watch the euros. The food was high quality, tasty and quick to the table. The staff we had the delight to talk with (Anna and Shay) were very helpful, easy to talk with and quick with orders. 10/10 will be back again.

Great pub, great garden, great staff. Met the new general manager tonight and he was really welcoming. Slight mess up with the order but quickly fixed. Will be back.

My Grandson and I went here for dinner, the food was lovely, service was exceptional. Glad to know it is dog friendly. We will definitely be back soon.

We came here for our end of university drinks, planning to spend the majority of the evening there however we were let down as the pub has changed to over 21s (even though we were here 2 weeks ago when its was not over 21s). We sat outside in the garden hoping to have a relaxed evening with drinks and food, however the young guy who served us came over and asked for our ID’s after serving us our drinks. At this point, we had all taken sips out of our drinks so there made no difference in us being there what so ever because we had already been served. We were then told the pub was over 21s and were told to come to the bar to return our drinks and to get refunds. We were standing at the bar for about 5 minutes waiting for our refunds. It was a lovely beer garden, and we would have love to spend the evening there and give them a lot of business. But we have had to relocate to other pubs in Eltham. We would love to come back when we are 21, however we do think you should have allowed us to finish our drinks that we had purchased. We are all of age. The young guy who served us was really lovely, however I am aware that he should have asked for ID at the point of serving. In addition, the manager (ginger lady who was abrupt when giving refunds) was sitting on a table next to the bar when we were being served. They should have come over and asked for our ID in the first place, instead of pouring our drinks allowing us to take them to our table and sit down starting to enjoy the evening.

We ordered the southern fried chicken flatbreads andi chicken wings. The chicken was so tough that it broke my tooth filling. Sadly the food is all frozen refried and poor preparation. The food doesn’t do justice to the great atmosphere of the place.

We go to the Jolly Fenman for lunch quite a lot now we are retired. The food is good and varied, loads of beer choice and the staff are always really nice

They said an hour wait for food which we was OK with... we made 2 separate orders paid for ours 1st and the other order came out first and they ate all there's before ours came out at this point we was still waiting for our drinks we had to go and ask for our drinks they only brang out 1 lot of drinks we went back and asked for our other drinks which they said we gave your drinks... even came to check the table to see if we had empty glasses for said drinks!! Ordered my daughter the roast and paid extra for the pigs in blankets for £3 something and 1 little pigs in blankets came 👀 I questioned it and they said they would bring it out another 45minutes passed still no pigs on blankets because we had been up a few times asking for our stuff we just left we had enough at this point! I get it, it was busy but we spent £120 for just 1 order and £100 for the other order for not that great service or food! It was my 1st time there and the last time!

Came along today with daughters to watch WSL match as advertised at front door that was showing today, match wasn't on but after 3 attempts they finally put it on one of the screens, Spent £60 on food and drink, very small portions on the platters, waited 50 minutes. People on next table were waiting over well over an hour, during the match they kept scrolling through the tv and at beginning of 2nd half they put a different match on. So we left to watch at home, will go elsewhere in future. Not sure why they advertise matches if they don't show them, The only reason I went was so my kids could watch it.

We was meeting up with my son's friend, so decided to pop into The Jolly Fenman , in Black Fen . This was my first visit to this pub , and I was pleasantly surprised. To start large free carpark, plenty of spaces. Inside the pub , nice and bright, and clean, lots of tables to sit , and drink, chat , or have a meal . We choose to have a pint , and played pool while we waited, we also ordered the Ultimate Feast to share , was very nice , fresh and hot , ample for two to share. Stayed about two hours, service was good , ( Served by a happy young lady Shaye , and nice gentleman Colin), food was good , enjoyed our pool game , and drinks , would definitely recommend a visit. Nothing Jolly about this place when it comes to one of the young barmaids with red hair … spilt beer down me because she slammed it down so hard on the counter - disgusting!

We had a lovely meal here. Although there isn't much for vegans the food we did order was very nice. The staff were very warm and welcoming. Even the locals and regulars were nice and welcoming.

Food was very tasty, with a very wide range to choose from. The bar and garden are dog friendly, so that was great. Good sized carpark, which is very useful as I am not sure where we would have parked otherwise. The only downside is that there are screens everywhere, so if you are not keen on football or sport in general, you can not sit anywhere without being able to see it. On the plus side for some Newcastle won.

Terrible service stood waiting to order my family’s food to be totally ignored, when other people arrived at bar obviously known customers they were immediately served for there food order, by what I can only imagine to be todays manager who has absolutely no customer skills what so ever and should not hold such a position in hospitality I went on to order my food with someone else to be consistently be argued at absolutely disgusting and disrespectful he proceeded to come at me in front of my family what a rude obnoxious man

My party of 7 ordered food took over an hour to serve. Then it was cold and uneatable. A very bad experience will not be going back.

Went here for a wake following a funeral. Bar staff were great, really quick serving drinks. The food was lovely as well. It was really hot in there though, but that might have been due the amount of people in the room. Definitely much nicer now than it used to be back in the 00's

If I could give a 0 star I would. Went in here on a Saturday afternoon for some food with a friend and 3 children. It wasn’t busy at all and we ordered food on the Greene King app. Within 5 minutes of us ordering a Barman came over to us to say that the food would be over an hours wait but we could get a refund at the bar if we didn’t want to wait that long. With 3 kids waiting over an hour was never going to happen. I went over to the bar and the manager processed the refund and advised me that it would take 2-3 working days to come through. I asked if she could pay me back in cash instead and I was looked at as if it was a crime to ask. She said it’s against company policy to give cash back on a card payment. Quick enough to take my money though. Outrageous. We are now on day 4 and still no refund. I have rung twice and both times been told I’d get a call back and nothing. My friend who I was with had their refund back by the 2nd working day. Not even a call back to apologise and update me. The only positive to come from this is that I’ll never step foot in that bottom of the barrel pub again.

We went to Jolly Fenman for Boxing Day Lunch, chose to have the Festive Menu, very disappointed, roast potatoes had obviously been pre heated maybe left overs from Christmas Day. Vegetables left a lot to be desired, I had 1 cauliflower floret and a big piece of stork, brussel sprouts were very hard. No Christmas atmosphere. We will not be eating there again

Came for Christmas lunch. The staff were amazing, especially the manager. The food was perfectly cooked for our whole family and had a good amount of time between courses. Would highly recommended for any meal or even a drink.

Just want to say a huge 'Thank You' to the Jolly Fenman for a lovely Christmas Dinner. This was our first Christmas since losing Dad back in August and we decided to book dinner out - not knowing what to expect. Food was lovely, with the meals coming out at the same time, even though we ordered different, and it was nice to not be rushed at any point, the pace was just right. It was also refreshing to see a manager being so hands on and working as hard as all of the rest of the staff. All staff regularly checking we were OK and asking if they could help which was genuinely appreciated. Thank you all so much, we hope you are able to enjoy the rest of your Christmas Day.

Today myself and my family went to have a Christmas drink at around 6.30 Christmas eve was told at door that we had to book a table the pub it was very empty and the the garden we could see had 1 person the doorman wasn't helpful I was very disappointed as we had to go to another pub never happened before when mark was running if your sales are down now you know why

Much nicer since the overhaul a few years back. Only complaint is that we ordered using the app and the staff didn't notice it come through so had to go to the bar anyway.

MATT was an absolute star corrected our food and it was 1000% better taste appearance and just in general a fantastic friendly bloke given a complimentary drink for the mistake. Thank you Matt keep being you!! :0)

Very nice place for a drink. Went during the day and the atmosphere was nice and enjoyable. Love the idea of the first pool game of the day being on the house. Not a huge fan of the £5 cash deposit for cues, particularly in this cash free world - heck even the pool table takes contactless payments

This pub has improved considerably over recent years. Midweek lunch was quite popular and from the varied menu choices and reasonable prices I could see why! Only downside is, due to its proximity to the crematorium, there are frequently wakes held here.

We really enjoy our evenings out here. Foods nice staff lovely. Connor very nice guy always friendly & professional.

22 October 23 An amazing afternoon for my hubby Big Alan 50th birthday xx we had the whole back sports area with dartboard! It was amazing! Matt the manager was so helpful and Bev was an amazing waitress! We preordered our food and the team were so flexible with requirements! Brilliant team made a very special day! First visit to the Jolly Fennman. Staff were very friendly, Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back. The refurbishment is to a high standard. Wish it was still summertime, the outside area is very impressive.

We went here for the first time this evening with my 2 children and husband,my daughter is autistic so she finds very uncomfortable when there is too many people around.I booked a table and was given a choice on where we wanted to sit to make my daughter comfortable.the food, service and staff was amazing.
