We really enjoyed the service. The food was good, and Rosie, our server, was excellent. She was patient, professional, and courteous.

Such a lovely location with such potential and such a massive disappointment. I would only recommend the Stables as place as somewhere to have drink on a sunny day when you can sit outside and only if there isn't a queue and you have something with you to wipe down your own seat, otherwise definitely one to be avoided. If you are interested in detail or are a manager reading reviews to make improvements do read on. I booked a 6.30 pm table for my son’s 10th birthday on a Wednesday. When we arrived it was clear they had been busy – all tables were either dirty or uncleared or both. We were sat at a clear but sticky table with a full ashtray by a smiley and clearly overwhelmed member of staff. There was a long queue so we tried to order via the QR code plastered all over the menus. This didn’t work so we joined the queue which was staffed by one person and it 30 minutes to be served (7:00pm). It then took 50 minutes for the food to arrive (7.50). While they apologised for the key components of the dish being missing (no samphire, no mackerel) we pointed out we had ordered family fish and chips and not the seafood sharing plate. What was there were chilli prawns and some burnt fish cakes – not something many 10-year-olds would eat. Another kind, but defensive and overwhelmed member of staff got us a kid’s fish and chips for my now ravenous son (8.10pm). Realising what was left of the seafood plate really wasn’t edible I asked for another portion of fish and chips and was told it would be with me in 8 minutes. At 8:35, 25 minutes later, hungry and gutted that we’d decided to celebrate at a place completely unable to deliver apparently anything), I asked for a refund. We were given this without issue (although not without prompting) and the apologetic member of staff asked for my email address in order to send us a complimentary meal. I gave it more to see if this would be followed up on than in the hope of getting it. Goes without saying I didn’t hear a thing. Both my partner and I have worked in hospitality a different point and understand how challenging it is. The issue is a management one. The place seemed to have suffered from understaffing prior to our arrival (although it really wasn’t that busy at all when we arrived) and the absence of systems to clear, order and serve customers made it impossible for them to catch up – creating a poor experience for customers and, evidently, a highly stressful one for staff. Communications with the kitchen was also lacking. Since visiting I have mentioned this experience to several people all who have sworn never to go back so this isn’t an isolated event.

The beer tasted very watery and I wouldn't be surprised if it was watered down. It's a real shame this place could be something really special but it's always milked to inch of life and before new management comes back in

Lovely place to go with friends for a catch up ( Sunday was busy )...food was good portions ( pasta was bit warm however ) & my friends order was mixed up and so was my booking but we were accommodated quickly..otherwise the summer spritz drinks were the best and look forward trying the other flavours

11 of us had afternoon tea here and was a really lovely atmosphere. I think they were short staffed which was probably the reason why we had to wait a little bit at times but overall definitely worth a visit and worth doing

We went for afternoon tea on Saturday for my daughters birthday there was 12 of us, we had a really lovely time .food was lovely cocktails great .we had a lovely young girl serving us .she was very busy but was very attentive. She did us proud. This is our second trip here for afternoon tea and was not dissapointed .thank you everyone at the stables we had a great afternoon

On Sunday I visited with my family, the food was a bit cold and missing some items. There was an hour waiting time. However, the staff were lovely, Georgia was very welcoming and helpful.

Amazing day for my birthday on Sunday, thank you to Georgia for going the extra mile to make my birthday special. Will definitely be returning!

Chaos at the front of house, no organisation at all. People stood everywhere and when we walked round to a side garden a member of staff barked at us telling us to queue at the front if we don’t have a booking. Immediately we were put off the place, she was obviously front of house and went back to her little stand after offering no help. We have never been to this pub before and we didn’t know the system behind it but we also didn’t expect to have to book a table to have drinks with my grandparents. As a company I’m confused as to why you would employ such a rude person to be the front of house. We walked straight out and went to a different pub.

Poor customer service. Sat outside to have a meal. Food arrived after 45 mins. Then, I had to wait 40 minutes to order a bottle of water because the waitresses can't take order at a table and another 40 minutes to order desserts, which were already included in the menù. To make things worst, the pub manager shrugged it off saying "it's Sunday ".

We were served by Izzy today and the service and food was amazing would definitely come back again!

Visited Danson stables today and the service was top quality. Both of the female waitresses were excellent and were very good with my 3yr old. They are short staffed sometimes but service is always excellent and personalised

Absolutely love this Pub, the atmosphere and ambience is so lovely, nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff, even when the pressure is on they do their very best to keep smiling and work as hard as they can. Four of us went for lunch yesterday. We were told straight away there was a small wait for food which we appreciated knowing. The food was great, scampi, burger and sea bass and the service was very friendly and very efficient. The staff were brilliant and hearing our friend was 104 did a thoughtful dessert for her. It made her day. A big thank you to Abi, Carly and Georgia. 👍👍

Terrible attitude from staff, we left before ordering. The table we were given didn’t have enough seats, even though we had pre booked, and the staff were rude and confrontational when we tried to resolve this.

We visited here on a Sunday 12pm and had pre-booked in advanced. When we arrived they asked if we wanted inside or outside, we chose outside as it was such a lovely day, the waitress went to take us but then turned and gave me the menus and said just find anywhere outside, rather than taking us to a table, and the service continued to go downhill from there. You are asked to order at the bar and to make note of your table number, our table did not have a number which we confirmed with a waitress before we went to order and she went to check for us but never returned. We proceeded to go to the bar to order and explained there we have no table number, to which the staff member at the till said “well every table has a number so you should look properly and find it”. Quite frankly her attitude was appalling. She then asked for another staff member to follow us to our table to check our number, they followed and agreed and said “yeah, these tables don’t have numbers, just say the second one from the gate” she relayed this to the staff member at the till to which no apology was given for that these tables do not have numbers but just continued attitude in their service. When it came to the food, one meal did not arrive with the rest, this was due to “it being missed off the ticket” so we had to wait till theirs arrived. We all ordered from the roast, two were beef roast, a lamb shank and a cauliflower tart. The food was lukewarm when it arrived, no carrots as mentioned on the menu, and the season veg was very little. The tart and meats were okay, but nothing special. I would not personally visit again, sadly the service was very disappointing and a shame especially as we brought family to visit as we had a lovely time previously but due to the staff customer service it let down the experience.

The food was extremely overpriced, and the portion sizes were disappointing. The ravioli was undercooked, and the hummus tasted store-bought ( straight from Sainsbury’s, just served on a fancy plate). The service was poor and slow. Salt, pepper, and sauces weren’t provided on the table; I had to get them myself. Yet when it came time to settle the bill, they managed to act at lightning speed. If you’re visiting for the food, I’d suggest avoiding this place altogether. There’s a sandwich stand next to the playground that would be a far better and economical choice.

I think the photo sums up our experience, this was the “Full English Breaskfast” I had to send it back twice firstly because it was cold and secondly because it was missing Beans etc

Went for coffee at the stables today - with a large group (running club). The coffee was good and the staff were calm - as we were all ordering lots of drinks etc. Someone accidentally spilled my drink and the waiter kindly replaced my coffee - which was very kind. Good experience 👍

Hemos parado cuando paseamos perros en el parque muchas veces y siempre tuvimos un buen servicio. Hoy no fue la excepción - tomamos algunas bebidas y compartimos un plato de carne que estaba delicioso. Lo mejor para nosotros es lo agradable para los perros el lugar es - la estación de hidratación no tenía agua, pero tenemos un poco de agua para nuestro perro en el bar y luego notamos que alguien se fue a recargar la estación de hidratación de inmediato. ¡Regresaremos!

I love the look and setting of Danson Stable Pub—beautifully kept front and back gardens, and it’s the perfect (and only) spot for a bite after a stroll in Danson Park with the kids. The atmosphere is charming and the staff are friendly, but unfortunately the service is painfully slow. Drinks and food took ages to arrive, which really put a damper on the visit. If you’re in no rush and don’t mind waiting, it’s a pleasant place to sit, but be prepared for long delays before your order shows up.

Después de esperar siglos en el bar en un miércoles muy tranquilo finalmente llegó el servicio. No hay mucho que decir. Buen ambiente, las bebidas bien, pero no se apresurará a volver. El servicio fue como nos advirtieron... pobre.

Struggling kitchen today due to gas supply issues but still had to wait ages for vegan roasted tomato & feta ciabatta lunch order. When it came it was not at all as described on the menu - just a disappointing raw tomato and grated cheese roll ! I was refunded after complaining but it certainly took the shine off lunch with friends. Will not be coming back for food anytime soon.

Disappointed with Overcharge Despite a Promising Deal I visited Dunstone Stables on the 28th of March, having been there once before with my partner after seeing their advertised £16.99 two-course meal deal outside the pub. It seemed like a great option for a casual lunch, especially as a stay-at-home mum trying to find affordable treats. This time, I came with a friend, hoping it might become our new go-to lunch spot. At the bar, I asked about the meal deal and the gentleman kindly handed me the £16.99 menu. I ordered the meal deal and a pint of Birra Moretti. I had my one-year-old with me and was quite occupied, and also as I was discussing the choosen food and the deal with the gentlemen I thought he will not miss to charge me correctly as it was very clear so I paid without thinking to double-check the total. It wasn’t until weeks later when I re viewed my bank statement, that I realised I had been charged £31.05. It’s incredibly disappointing to be overcharged for something that was supposed to be a treat. The whole point was to enjoy a break from cooking without spending a fortune. This experience left a sour taste, and unfortunately, it makes me hesitant to return or recommend it as a lunch spot to friends.

Situated in a nice area for long walks. Dogs welcome in the bar area. Stand-offish staff. Have certainly had better scampi & chips in more welcoming environments.

I have just had afternoon tea with my mum and niece. I was blown away with the thoughtful service, the table was laid out beautifully with a pink cloth, we were contacted before we came in to check if we had any allergies, they made a beautiful afternoon tea that was gluten free. It was the best afternoon tea I’ve ever had ( and I’ve sampled a lot. ) the price was very reasonable and the service outstanding. Very welcoming, can’t praise it enough. Will definitely be back.

Terrible experience at lunch today. We ordered fish and chips and drinks. After waiting for ages I went to enquire about the food, the staff member was very rude and stated there was an hour's wait for food. This was not told to us when we ordered. They were so arrogant and unapologetic, I was shocked at their nasty behaviour. When it finally arrived, fish and chips was ok, not many chips, no tartare sauce and definitely not worth the £16 price tag. The place could be cleaned better, we were sitting outside and the wind kept picking up and swirling the litter all around us and people at other tables. I don't like leaving bad reviews, in fact this is the first time I'm doing it because the experience was that horrid.

went today with my son and 3 year old granddaughter. Was not told a wait time for food and it was busy , a nice hot sunny day and i understand that. Ordered food at 2.04 at 3.20pm was still waiting for 2 sandwiches and a child meal, shocking to say the least, I had already had to return my coffee as it was like dishwater, got that replaced. After asking the guy who seemed to be the go to man about where our food was, I was rebuffed and spoken to very rudely and told that the wait time was 45 minutes and we still had 10 minutes to go. No apology nothing!! By 3.20 as my granddaughter understandably was getting very very restless i decided to go to the bar and ask for the manager, who was actually standing there, she was nonchalent, no appologies, nothing, went to the kitchen and came out saying she could not tell me when our food would be ready!!! asked if i wanted a full meal refund which I agreed to as the service was so shocking and she had a could not care less attitude. Whilst I understand how busy the place was the attitude of staff was shocking told me she couldnt control the kitchen!!!! really? And shes the manager....., there were other customers at the bar asking for refunds too as they had also waited ages. Not good enough, if you cant service your covers stop taking more customers in. I will never return to this place again. Staff need training on customer service thats for sure. And if they cant serve up two sandwiches and a childs meal then they should not do food, simple as that. Dread to think how they will manage when the summer really starts. Shame on you

Came an hour early as we got our timings wrong but we were still greeted with a smile and accommodated. Our server Jenny was very attentive and friendly. We got our food quickly and were impressed with the service!

Great service from Jenny; food was brought out quickly and she was super friendly. Potatoes were average but overall meal was good. Pudding was great.

Good place for a coffee and a chat with friends

Hmmm. Unfortunately the food was 'just food' and I was disappointed that the veggie option was not available. The girl serving was bordering on being rude and made us feel like a nuisance. Yes, she was on her own but that's not the customers fault. We won't be going back which is a shame as the venue is wonderful.

We came for lunch today and I must say the young lady at the bar, who said she had only been there two weeks, was do polite and helpful. I have difficulty walking and she offered to bring my drinks to the table. I have been a restaurant critic for most of my working life and I wish more people in hospitality had her attitude and great customer service. Well done

We visited Danson Stables today at 2.15pm, the dining area was not busy maybe 6 or 7 tables were taken. We ordered our food, scampi and chips and a burger. We waited almost 45 minutes before it arrived and both meals were lukewarm, clearly the food had been dished up and was waiting for someone to bring it to us. We had no time to complain as we didn’t want to wait another 30-40 minutes. Looking at other reviews this is clearly a problem with staff shortage or lack of communication between the kitchen and waiting staff, either way it needs sorting if you want to keep your customers.

We were told that we would wait 25 minutes for our food due to being short staffed , we waited 1 hour 20 minutes for our food to come ,during that time someone appeared at our table with the wrong order. Food was luke warm , looked like it had been sitting around for too long, very poor and mainly inedible. Environment was cold , as were the staff who were disinterested, rushed and uncaring. We were there for an eldely relatives special birthday lunch , couldn’t have been more disappointed and let down .

Small pub in the park no atmosphere though

Had disappointing children's meals but the manager did everything to make up and was extremely helpful.

This is my local and it is the most welcoming and warm atmosphere to sit and eat or drink in. Have just tried the new menu and can say that the food was amazing. The team work hard to create a chilled and family (and dog) friendly environment and it pays off.

Visited as a group of 5 on a Monday evening. Could not fault the food and very friendly service particularly Everton.

Such a lovely experience from when we stepped in the front door. We had a table booked but due to the weather arrived earlier than planned. It was a busy Sunday lunch service and the manager seated us early, no problem at all. Our waitress Jenny was super efficient and ensured we had everything we needed. The other guests were friendly as we had our two springer spaniels with us. They were happy to be stayed at by two big brown eyes ! The whole experience was great and when we are visiting family again we will definitely pop by! Thank you.

This is in a lovely setting with a nice atmosphere. Good choice of food and reasonably priced, have visited afew times but this time was disappointing! Seemed very short staffed, food took a long time to arrive and was cold! Desert also took a long time to arrive and when it did was also cold and definitely not what was ordered! We did get a replacement but that took ages! Definitely need more experienced staff and need to speed up the process!

Food basically tasted like it had been reheated and had not much flavour to it. Staff were lovely and helpful but very disappointed about the food. It came to our table as soon as we ordered which is never a good sign.

We visited here with our dog for a Sunday roast after a long walk. We were greeted by Jenny who was really attentive, polite and friendly. We ordered a trio of roasts - the portion size was extremely generous. They catered very well for our dog - with a dog station set up with blankets, treats and water bowls and even have a doggy menu. We'll definitely visit again.

Very busy lunch Monday. Had to wait a long time to get served at the bar. But then we found we could order using the app. This made it easier. Food was excellent and sensible pricing.

I attended a wedding reception here on Thursday 02nd January 2025. The food was excellent and the service was quick and efficient. There were over 40 people and we were all served our meals together. The Chef made a special mushroom wellington for me as I was a stand in for another guest who wasn't vegetarian, it was a pleasant surprise and very tasty. The staff were smiley and friendly and seemed to be working very hard to ensure the guests were happy. All in all, a good experience.

Had a wonderful welcome as soon as we arrived from Andy. Charlotte was our lovely server, very polite and helpful. Great sense of humour and an assist to the restaurant/bar. We have never been before but we will most definitely be coming back. Rather than breakfast which looked fabulous and was a great price we opted for the roast dinner. Sunday roast - trio meats amazing if that wasn’t enough we had extra cauliflower cheese and a giant pigs in blanket. Wasn’t required as the roast was so big but thoroughly delicious to have these on the sides. Price is shockingly good. 1000% recommend and we will be coming back!

Wow!! This Sunday we headed out a little late for breakfast with 2 very good friends. After deciding not to go into a couple of cafes and some interesting heated “discussions”, I, the leader took charge and remembered The Stables. By the time we got here it had just hit midday do we had the choice of breakfast or Sunday lunch. Well the 3 meat roast won!! It was delicious!!! And more than enough.. I actually couldn’t finish it!! But somehow found room for the crumble! With Andy front of house, Katie on the bar and the faultless friendly service from Charlotte it was a brilliant lunch, we will be coming again. Next time bringing the pooch… as he had to make do with a doggy bag. Would highly recommend
