A lovely location on a sunny afternoon - this place has so much potential. Unfortunately, food was poorly cooked, over priced and unappealing.

A lovely place to chill, afternoon tea with prosecco and coffee served in a "nothing is too much bother"attitude. We will be returning!

I think the photo sums up our experience, this was the “Full English Breaskfast” I had to send it back twice firstly because it was cold and secondly because it was missing Beans etc

We went for afternoon tea on Saturday for my daughters birthday there was 12 of us, we had a really lovely time .food was lovely cocktails great .we had a lovely young girl serving us .she was very busy but was very attentive. She did us proud. This is our second trip here for afternoon tea and was not dissapointed .thank you everyone at the stables we had a great afternoon

Went for coffee at the stables today - with a large group (running club). The coffee was good and the staff were calm - as we were all ordering lots of drinks etc. Someone accidentally spilled my drink and the waiter kindly replaced my coffee - which was very kind. Good experience 👍

I love the look and setting of Danson Stable Pub—beautifully kept front and back gardens, and it’s the perfect (and only) spot for a bite after a stroll in Danson Park with the kids. The atmosphere is charming and the staff are friendly, but unfortunately the service is painfully slow. Drinks and food took ages to arrive, which really put a damper on the visit. If you’re in no rush and don’t mind waiting, it’s a pleasant place to sit, but be prepared for long delays before your order shows up.

Disappointed with Overcharge Despite a Promising Deal I visited Dunstone Stables on the 28th of March, having been there once before with my partner after seeing their advertised £16.99 two-course meal deal outside the pub. It seemed like a great option for a casual lunch, especially as a stay-at-home mum trying to find affordable treats. This time, I came with a friend, hoping it might become our new go-to lunch spot. At the bar, I asked about the meal deal and the gentleman kindly handed me the £16.99 menu. I ordered the meal deal and a pint of Birra Moretti. I had my one-year-old with me and was quite occupied, and also as I was discussing the choosen food and the deal with the gentlemen I thought he will not miss to charge me correctly as it was very clear so I paid without thinking to double-check the total. It wasn’t until weeks later when I re viewed my bank statement, that I realised I had been charged £31.05. It’s incredibly disappointing to be overcharged for something that was supposed to be a treat. The whole point was to enjoy a break from cooking without spending a fortune. This experience left a sour taste, and unfortunately, it makes me hesitant to return or recommend it as a lunch spot to friends.

Struggling kitchen today due to gas supply issues but still had to wait ages for vegan roasted tomato & feta ciabatta lunch order. When it came it was not at all as described on the menu - just a disappointing raw tomato and grated cheese roll ! I was refunded after complaining but it certainly took the shine off lunch with friends. Will not be coming back for food anytime soon.

Situated in a nice area for long walks. Dogs welcome in the bar area. Stand-offish staff. Have certainly had better scampi & chips in more welcoming environments.

I have just had afternoon tea with my mum and niece. I was blown away with the thoughtful service, the table was laid out beautifully with a pink cloth, we were contacted before we came in to check if we had any allergies, they made a beautiful afternoon tea that was gluten free. It was the best afternoon tea I’ve ever had ( and I’ve sampled a lot. ) the price was very reasonable and the service outstanding. Very welcoming, can’t praise it enough. Will definitely be back.

Went there for mothers day so it was very busy. Food ok service wes a bit slow but as I said it was busy. Nice location clean and staff were friendly 👌

Terrible experience at lunch today. We ordered fish and chips and drinks. After waiting for ages I went to enquire about the food, the staff member was very rude and stated there was an hour's wait for food. This was not told to us when we ordered. They were so arrogant and unapologetic, I was shocked at their nasty behaviour. When it finally arrived, fish and chips was ok, not many chips, no tartare sauce and definitely not worth the £16 price tag. The place could be cleaned better, we were sitting outside and the wind kept picking up and swirling the litter all around us and people at other tables. I don't like leaving bad reviews, in fact this is the first time I'm doing it because the experience was that horrid.

went today with my son and 3 year old granddaughter. Was not told a wait time for food and it was busy , a nice hot sunny day and i understand that. Ordered food at 2.04 at 3.20pm was still waiting for 2 sandwiches and a child meal, shocking to say the least, I had already had to return my coffee as it was like dishwater, got that replaced. After asking the guy who seemed to be the go to man about where our food was, I was rebuffed and spoken to very rudely and told that the wait time was 45 minutes and we still had 10 minutes to go. No apology nothing!! By 3.20 as my granddaughter understandably was getting very very restless i decided to go to the bar and ask for the manager, who was actually standing there, she was nonchalent, no appologies, nothing, went to the kitchen and came out saying she could not tell me when our food would be ready!!! asked if i wanted a full meal refund which I agreed to as the service was so shocking and she had a could not care less attitude. Whilst I understand how busy the place was the attitude of staff was shocking told me she couldnt control the kitchen!!!! really? And shes the manager....., there were other customers at the bar asking for refunds too as they had also waited ages. Not good enough, if you cant service your covers stop taking more customers in. I will never return to this place again. Staff need training on customer service thats for sure. And if they cant serve up two sandwiches and a childs meal then they should not do food, simple as that. Dread to think how they will manage when the summer really starts. Shame on you

Came an hour early as we got our timings wrong but we were still greeted with a smile and accommodated. Our server Jenny was very attentive and friendly. We got our food quickly and were impressed with the service!

Great service from Jenny; food was brought out quickly and she was super friendly. Potatoes were average but overall meal was good. Pudding was great.

Hmmm. Unfortunately the food was 'just food' and I was disappointed that the veggie option was not available. The girl serving was bordering on being rude and made us feel like a nuisance. Yes, she was on her own but that's not the customers fault. We won't be going back which is a shame as the venue is wonderful.

Booked for 1 pm Sunday lunch for my fathers birthday, shown to a table and told to use QR code to order, order would not go through, went to findout what was wrong, told that we should order from the bar, won't be going back.

Great food and service .My car broke down in the car park and the bar manager and staff looked after us . Made sure my phone was charged for me .Nothing was to much trouble .

We came for lunch today and I must say the young lady at the bar, who said she had only been there two weeks, was do polite and helpful. I have difficulty walking and she offered to bring my drinks to the table. I have been a restaurant critic for most of my working life and I wish more people in hospitality had her attitude and great customer service. Well done

We visited Danson Stables today at 2.15pm, the dining area was not busy maybe 6 or 7 tables were taken. We ordered our food, scampi and chips and a burger. We waited almost 45 minutes before it arrived and both meals were lukewarm, clearly the food had been dished up and was waiting for someone to bring it to us. We had no time to complain as we didn’t want to wait another 30-40 minutes. Looking at other reviews this is clearly a problem with staff shortage or lack of communication between the kitchen and waiting staff, either way it needs sorting if you want to keep your customers.

We were told that we would wait 25 minutes for our food due to being short staffed , we waited 1 hour 20 minutes for our food to come ,during that time someone appeared at our table with the wrong order. Food was luke warm , looked like it had been sitting around for too long, very poor and mainly inedible. Environment was cold , as were the staff who were disinterested, rushed and uncaring. We were there for an eldely relatives special birthday lunch , couldn’t have been more disappointed and let down .

Small pub in the park no atmosphere though

Had disappointing children's meals but the manager did everything to make up and was extremely helpful.

This is my local and it is the most welcoming and warm atmosphere to sit and eat or drink in. Have just tried the new menu and can say that the food was amazing. The team work hard to create a chilled and family (and dog) friendly environment and it pays off.

Visited as a group of 5 on a Monday evening. Could not fault the food and very friendly service particularly Everton.

My first experience of Danson Stables. The food was superb (Sunday roast) Jenny our waitress very efficient and helpful and served us with a smile. The food was reasonably priced - we would definitely come again.

Such a lovely experience from when we stepped in the front door. We had a table booked but due to the weather arrived earlier than planned. It was a busy Sunday lunch service and the manager seated us early, no problem at all. Our waitress Jenny was super efficient and ensured we had everything we needed. The other guests were friendly as we had our two springer spaniels with us. They were happy to be stayed at by two big brown eyes ! The whole experience was great and when we are visiting family again we will definitely pop by! Thank you.

This is in a lovely setting with a nice atmosphere. Good choice of food and reasonably priced, have visited afew times but this time was disappointing! Seemed very short staffed, food took a long time to arrive and was cold! Desert also took a long time to arrive and when it did was also cold and definitely not what was ordered! We did get a replacement but that took ages! Definitely need more experienced staff and need to speed up the process!

Food basically tasted like it had been reheated and had not much flavour to it. Staff were lovely and helpful but very disappointed about the food. It came to our table as soon as we ordered which is never a good sign.

We visited here with our dog for a Sunday roast after a long walk. We were greeted by Jenny who was really attentive, polite and friendly. We ordered a trio of roasts - the portion size was extremely generous. They catered very well for our dog - with a dog station set up with blankets, treats and water bowls and even have a doggy menu. We'll definitely visit again.

Very busy lunch Monday. Had to wait a long time to get served at the bar. But then we found we could order using the app. This made it easier. Food was excellent and sensible pricing.

I attended a wedding reception here on Thursday 02nd January 2025. The food was excellent and the service was quick and efficient. There were over 40 people and we were all served our meals together. The Chef made a special mushroom wellington for me as I was a stand in for another guest who wasn't vegetarian, it was a pleasant surprise and very tasty. The staff were smiley and friendly and seemed to be working very hard to ensure the guests were happy. All in all, a good experience.

What a banging roast thanks to Charlotte who looked after us and Katie at the bar who took our order and gave us a tasty beer to try. Great venue great atmosphere. Andy the manager has a great team get yourself down there.

Had a wonderful welcome as soon as we arrived from Andy. Charlotte was our lovely server, very polite and helpful. Great sense of humour and an assist to the restaurant/bar. We have never been before but we will most definitely be coming back. Rather than breakfast which looked fabulous and was a great price we opted for the roast dinner. Sunday roast - trio meats amazing if that wasn’t enough we had extra cauliflower cheese and a giant pigs in blanket. Wasn’t required as the roast was so big but thoroughly delicious to have these on the sides. Price is shockingly good. 1000% recommend and we will be coming back!

Wow!! This Sunday we headed out a little late for breakfast with 2 very good friends. After deciding not to go into a couple of cafes and some interesting heated “discussions”, I, the leader took charge and remembered The Stables. By the time we got here it had just hit midday do we had the choice of breakfast or Sunday lunch. Well the 3 meat roast won!! It was delicious!!! And more than enough.. I actually couldn’t finish it!! But somehow found room for the crumble! With Andy front of house, Katie on the bar and the faultless friendly service from Charlotte it was a brilliant lunch, we will be coming again. Next time bringing the pooch… as he had to make do with a doggy bag. Would highly recommend

I regret to write to review but I do think it is important that the owner is made aware as it was jaw droppingly bad. On Wednesday of this week, myself, my 6 month old baby, my best friend and her 1 year old and her 95 year old nan went to the stables (opting here over wetherspoons as we hoped it would be less busy). My best friend has recently moved to Folkstone and it means she cannot spend this year with her Nan for Xmas day so this was a special occasion in which she had travelled back for. We were seated promptly and bought drinks at the bar arriving at 1245. We proceeded to order our food at the bar (in the presence of our children and Nan) where no mention of any long waiting times were made…we then proceeded to wait over an hour for our food…my friends nans food (hunters chicken) had to be chiseled out of the bowl it had been served in and was so dry that my friends nans could not actually physically cut it with her knife. My friends chips were cold, while the child’s meal was piping hot. We asked the waitress to please acknowledge the state of the chicken where we were advised to change the order as ‘that was how it was cooked’ -so we asked to change it for the festive sleigh burger which my friend had ordered and had been nice with the exception of the cold chips….we then proceeded to wait a further 45 minutes …meaning my friends 95 year old nan had to eat alone and had waited nearly 2 hours….we were presented at the time of my friends nans 2 hour delayed meal with a bowl of pigs in blankets which ‘had been forgotten’ from my friends meal….and then we had to ask for the children’s dessert which came with the meal (but which had not been flagged to our attention at the til despite us paying for it). The waitress offered zero apology (we remarked on this sarcastically at the time), and were offered initially a refund for the two adult meals. I had paid for my meal separately (a soup) and have to say I thought this was outrageous given the entire meal was ruined and they wanted to claw back the 6£ meal of the child. We were not asked how our food was at any point, received zero apology or notice of a long wait time (particularly upsetting with such small children and an older lady being part of the party!). I believe a wake was occurring at the time which perhaps was the reason for the poor service and food delays…that or such long waits and poor food resulted in a death?! The rest of the pub was quiet and certainly not fully booked so I fail to understand why things were so bad. In the past the stables has been excellent, good service and delicious food -which is why we chose here over wetherspoons despite it being much more expensive. We did receive an entire refund for the food which we appreciate, but ultimately the experience was terrible and we will not be returning for any special occasions. I also think it really needs to be investigated by the owner as it was so avoidable! A real shame. Had there of been more transparency, apology and communication this would have been completely avoidable.

Popped in for a coffee, very quiet and order not delivered after 15/20 mins. I went to enquire and lady behind bar was chatting to people on pc’s to rear who I assume were management. Took a while to finally come over to me and no apology offered by the lady, blaming another member of staff. I was then served, but found the whole experience poor. Coffee was ok and the place always looks great. Need to work on service even when not busy.

Food was okay nothing to shout about, standard pub dishes. The highlight though was the pigs in blankets. Nice crispy bacon on the outside. Expensive for what it is as a whole, expensive beer prices to match. Restaurant was clean and we were seated in a nice warm area. Service was ok, Jenny delivered the food with a smile and was friendly. (Got 20% off the bill for the shoutout) so worth asking for next time you go.

Thank you for the 25% off the Sunday meal Jenny. The service as a whole made a sloth look fast. The heating in pub itself was way too hot.

Thanks for the friendly service and the 25% off our meal Jenny, though service was a tad slow. Especially when waiting to pay the bill. The area we were seated was hotter than the Bahamas. Might be an idea to turn the heating down a bit. The food however, was enjoyable and decent portions for the price.
