The best butcher I've been to?quite possibly. Everything is just quality. I love their mighty pork chops sometimes with a bit of kidney. All their bbq fare is spot on, and their seasonal faggots are incredible. The cheese counter is amazing too if you fancy some up market cheese with bread and wine on your hols. Local honey sold too. So more than a butcher! Family are lovely serving and and it's now sons and daughters on the sign 👍

Done some research online & found Coasters and it looked great so booked up for a early evening meal with my wife. The restaurant has a warm friendly feeling & we were made to feel really welcome by the staff. I have to say i have never been to a restaurant & liked nearly everything on it but at coasters this was the case. Lots of choice from starters to mains & great deserts. I opted for a soup starter which was thick & very tasty served alongside bread & butter, and my wife had the fried squid which was also cooked & seasoned to perfection. We both opted for the fish & chips which was again cooked to perfection & was served with a very generous portion of very chunky chips! & garden peas. After all that we couldn't manage a desert ! which was a shame as the desert menu looked awesome. The restaurant also benefits from some very quirky eating pods outside which seat up to 4 people which we will definitely try next time. All in all Great food Great service Great atmosphere and we will be back with friends next time. If your looking to eat out in Southwold you need to come here & just a note, you can also conveniently book via the website.

We booked in for Afternoon Tea at 3.45pm on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate a 75th Birthday. The room was fairly quiet (maybe 4 other tables occupied). Our hot drinks arrived quickly, but that was followed by a 30 minute wait for the savoury course. Interestingly a couple of residents arrived (after us) and were served promptly with the waitress explaining the different selections. Eventually ours arrived with no explanations at all, making us feel rather like second-class citizens. The savouries were nice but we then didn’t get our sweet courses until 5.30pm. I had to chase them up on several occasions and trying to get more hot drinks was nearly impossible. By this time it was only our table of 4 and the 2 residents in the restaurant, so there was no excuse for the lack of service. This totally spoiled the day for us and it certainly was not what I was expecting from such a prestigious Adnams venue. The waiter did apologise and said he hoped I would come back, to which I replied that I wouldn’t. So dissapointed.

My husband and I took a punt on this restaurant as we were struggling to find anything inspiring on the menu in our hotel. 5-10 minute walk from the high street. Friendly staff, casual atmosphere and great food. Warm and cosy in February. Service was good. Food was delicious. Particularly good selection of different burgers. We will be back in the summer with our boys.

The best Fish and Chips I have ever tasted. Fresh, tasty haddock with a light crispy batter. The starter of prawns in a garlic and ginger sauce was delicious. Staff friendly and delightful despite being run off their feet. Can’t recommend highly enough, will be back soon

We went in here just for a sausage roll and coffee each. The young lady making the coffee was very quick and efficient. I didn’t even notice the sausage rolls being put on the tray, they just appeared. The coffee was one of the best we have ever tasted, with real chocolate shavings on the top, rather than the cocoa powder usually used (in other establishments). Tables were cleared efficiently and we were thanked, twice, on our way out. Don’t know what a fuller meal would be like, but would recommend for a quick bite and drink.

We have enjoyed Harris & James elsewhere in Suffolk & Norfolk, mainly for the gelato. This time we went inside for a coffee/tea and a cake. The coffee and tea were OK, the cookies and cakes reasonable and the donut small. Service was average and the prices not cheap. OK but nothing special.

£39 for a 3 course Sunday lunch or £36 for 2 courses?! No veggie roast dinner option although I was offered frozen veg sausages or just a load of veg. It was VERY expensive for an average service and an ok meal. The carrots were hard and no green veg but other than that it was ok just VERY expensive for what it was. Also the front.l of the building needs some attention, entering is quite depressing with peeling paint etc Also we ate in the bar and a local came in and was chatting away to the bar man and frequently swearing at high wasn’t pleasant
