The best butcher I've been to?quite possibly. Everything is just quality. I love their mighty pork chops sometimes with a bit of kidney. All their bbq fare is spot on, and their seasonal faggots are incredible. The cheese counter is amazing too if you fancy some up market cheese with bread and wine on your hols. Local honey sold too. So more than a butcher! Family are lovely serving and and it's now sons and daughters on the sign 👍

Had lunch here today. What fantastic food. I had Sea Bass and it was so good. I would definitely order this same dish again. We were also served the battered haddock and that was just as good. Lovely crispy batter and so fresh. Great food and the best service. Staff were very friendly and helpful despite being busy. What a place, hope to be going back soon.

We were in Southwold for the day and wanted a tasty lunch, we had seen the cafe a couple of weeks ago when on holiday and the reviews looked good The cafe certainly didn’t disappoint, we sat at a table under the verandah overlooking the lake with our dog and ordered jacket potatoes with cheese and beans, side salad and coleslaw - it was a beautiful sunny mild day (18C) The potatoes were beautifully cooked with a fluffy hot inside filled with cheese and beans and the salad had a really tasty vinaigrette on it, plus a cappuccino and a tea Happy and helpful staff, serving really good food at a very competitive price made our day and we will return on our next visit to Southwold Thanks to all staff

Afternoon tea was a lovely experience. Plenty of food to satisfy the hungriest. Service was needlessly slow. Took 45 minutes to be served savoury, sweet dishes 30 mins. We had to ask the kitchen if food was coming. It was not busy. One request I would have is to have a little more selection on black teas. I enjoyed peppermint to finish but I like to treat myself to Assam, Darjeeling and others. They only had Builders or Earl Grey.

I’d seen good things about this place so I took my family there for a birthday dinner, and it definitely wasn’t what we were expecting. While my fish and chips tasted great, the server (who I believed to be called Tim or Tom) was incredibly rude to both me and my son. I asked for a server to take a drinks order, just to be met with a rude “not now, I’m busy”. The same gentleman also ignored my son when he asked for the deserts menu, he asked again and the gentlemen answered “just give me a minute”. I’m willing to assume we met him on a bad day, but this ruined the entire experience for me and equally for my family. The food all around was amazing, just a shame it was let down but such poor service. Susan

Stopped here without booking. It turned out to be the best Sunday lunch I can recall having for a long time. Vegetables appeared all freshly prepared and cooked. Every mouthful was full of flavour. The jus with the Yorkshire pudding was amazing. My wife really enjoyed the pork loin and the Butternut wellington I had was really tasty. It was worthy of the £19.50 price. Good service also.

We used to go to this cafe years ago and always enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately today our experience was not a good one. Felt like I spent more time queuing for drinks and then back for food than sitting down and enjoying the experience. The menu seems somewhat downgraded from when we went before (very limited - no JPs or salads etc.). In the counter pastries (sausage rolls and tea cakes) sold out by 11:30. But for us we ordered 2 x bacon, cheese and tomato paninis (£8ea with no salad garnish!). I think the photos show the problems, as one of the guests are in early pregnancy I am really disappointed this grey spoilt meat was served. They didn’t come round and ask how the food was like most restaurants do, so we took the plate up the girl looked confused and took it to the kitchen they offered another one (noting no apologies given) but spoilt meat was enough to put us off and they did complete a refund for the one that was off quickly. Such a shame but to be served off meat is pretty terrible for a well established cafe. Won’t be back, which is such a shame. Note: we are not people to complain so this is a rarity. The shop however is still a lovely visit.

The place is definitely popular as there were two queues from different doors so confusing from the beginning. They must have been closing down as there were different flavours on each side and the servers seemed to be rushing to call last order. The gelato was delicious though, just not sure if it makes up for the wait and price.

£39 for a 3 course Sunday lunch or £36 for 2 courses?! No veggie roast dinner option although I was offered frozen veg sausages or just a load of veg. It was VERY expensive for an average service and an ok meal. The carrots were hard and no green veg but other than that it was ok just VERY expensive for what it was. Also the front.l of the building needs some attention, entering is quite depressing with peeling paint etc Also we ate in the bar and a local came in and was chatting away to the bar man and frequently swearing at high wasn’t pleasant
