We used to go to this cafe years ago and always enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately today our experience was not a good one. Felt like I spent more time queuing for drinks and then back for food than sitting down and enjoying the experience. The menu seems somewhat downgraded from when we went before (very limited - no JPs or salads etc.). In the counter pastries (sausage rolls and tea cakes) sold out by 11:30. But for us we ordered 2 x bacon, cheese and tomato paninis (£8ea with no salad garnish!). I think the photos show the problems, as one of the guests are in early pregnancy I am really disappointed this grey spoilt meat was served. They didn’t come round and ask how the food was like most restaurants do, so we took the plate up the girl looked confused and took it to the kitchen they offered another one (noting no apologies given) but spoilt meat was enough to put us off and they did complete a refund for the one that was off quickly. Such a shame but to be served off meat is pretty terrible for a well established cafe. Won’t be back, which is such a shame. Note: we are not people to complain so this is a rarity. The shop however is still a lovely visit.

We had a light lunch whilst visiting Southwold. As it was a nice day we sat outside. You order inside and the food is then brought out to you. Wee both had a toasted meal with goats cheese which was great.

It was a pleasant surprise to find this cafe at the back of the Adnam's store, with a large garden and plenty of outside tables, which are ideal on a sunny day. We were a family group of 6, and arrived a little too late for breakfast, although the staff were very accommodating in taking our orders for lunch ahead of time. It seems they were short of staff and appeared under pressure. But we sat outside in the sun, so the long wait was not too bad. Another customer ordering at the counter gave specific instructions on how she wanted her tea to be served, and when her instructions were not followed, this caused something of a stir (pun intended). However, it was soon resolved. The kind lady who I assume was in charge on the day later came out to apologise to us for the incident. She explained it was a time of peak demand, and stopped to chat and enquire about our visit, which certainly helped to redress our experience. The long wait for the food was actually worthwhile. Although the choice was limited, the rarebit was actually very good. In my view it more closely resembled a croque monsieur, with a filling of cheese and ham as well as grilled cheese on top. This was accompanied by Adnam's Deep Seas Belgian style ale, which was superb. This is a pleasant, relaxed venue, which is perfect for coffee and desserts or a quick snack. They have gluten free options, are happy to accommodate dogs in the garden, and there is also customer parking. What's not to like?

We've been regulars here for years so we really looking forward to lunch here. Sadly, we were disappointed as it had changed significantly and not for the better. The sandwiches - always limited choice - were premade and wrapped and no longer come with crisps and salad, just a pointless sprig of dill. Portions were reduced but prices, unsuprisingly, were not to reflect this. The quality of the food was at least decent though it should be for the price (c.£8 for a tuna sandwich, I believe).

dear oh dear - met friends her for breakfast / coffee . left two of the party at the table outside while we waited and waited and waited for service : maybe someone could suggest that the order is taken along with the table number and then the order is brought to the table - would save a long queue which does not look good and would also save us having to wait nearly 20 minutes to be served. When you have limited time this is not an ideal way to spend it. Don't get me wrong the staff were lovely but there did not appear to be a system. Food was fine.

We had lunch at the Adnams café on my birthday, having worked our way up the high street without any luck at other venues. Service was polite and the food was very nice indeed; I had a jacket potato with tuna and cheese and my wife had a roasted vegetable panini. The only downside was that there was no pulled pork, which we had both ordered at first, but these things happen.

Amazing as ever and busy. Felt very sorry for front counter staff. Two young ladies doing till, taking orders, making drinks which some of require time to prepare, serving cakes, with another one clearing tables which were extremely cluttered. All working very hard to keep system going. Definitely looked like understaffed and those 3 ladies doing job of at least 5 people. Couple of customers complaining and servers very apologetic. Maybe those above need to re evaluate the rota and work system and appreciate their staff

We are share holders, so this is quite worrying. We purchased some wine and glasses from 2 lovely ladies on the till in the Adnams shop, decided to go to the cafe for a coffee and snack Cafe was deserted except for a couple sat having a drink We looked at the cakes and savoury snacks and decided on what we would like, a young lady was making a coffee ( perhaps for herself) we were ignored. 2 members of staff came out of the kitchen laughing with each other, my husband tried to attract their attention by saying “excuse me”they both just walked off. I said let’s go somewhere else, my husband then asked the lady making the coffee for some service, she looked him up and down and said “I’ll be with you in a minute” Just unbelievable- no customer service, plain rude - obviously no training on how to serve the public. We left and went to another cafe. As I said we are share holders, this isn’t going to improve my shares if this is how they treat the public CAN MANAGEMENT RESPOND PLEASE

I had a lovely sausage roll here. One of the best I have had. Not greasy, plenty of filling and not too flaky. I also had a giant fruit scone with butter and strawberry jam. This was washed down with a delicious mug of hot chocolate. Great service and lovely atmosphere.

At the rear of the Addams brewery shop is this cafe which serves a selection of food and drink.Service was not very quick or organised but the lady who served us was pleasant and helpful.Unusual features linking it with the brewery - we sat on metal kegs (with cushions) and within a refashioned copper mash tun!Like so many other places in Southwold, it’s overpriced, but I guess the experience makes up for it.

Great coffee. Service a little slow but friendly. A little on the pricey side but pleasant. The soup was nice but not really worth the price compared to other options along the high street.

Had lunch here. This part of a larger complex selling touristy items including Adnams brewery and distillery products. Impressively much of this offering was from local suppliers. Good atmosphere and staff attentive and smiley. We both ordered salad and they were served promptly, very well presented, substantial, tasty and great value. Recommended.

Lunch time visit to Southwold. Adnams cafe and shop always worth a visit. Dog friendly cafe. This time chose the pulled pork nachos, huge portion more than enough for two.

Always busy so you may have to wait and grab a table when you can. Been for coffee and cake - their Carrot Cake is to die for. Would love the recipe, but then I would have to kill everyone that I shared the recipe with. Consistently good, can get a bit hectic, but thats due to its popularity, long may it continue.

Many years since our last visit but staff , choice and, quality of lunch time snacks as good as ever. Home made soup and, a well filled salmon sandwich followied by a visit to an Aladin,s Cave of Adnams brands, brought back memories of many happy holidays spent in Suffolk.

Had chocolate brownies which contained great chunks of plain chocolate and very rich but dry-ish cake. Perhaps they had been sitting there too long. Gin -infused sponge was a bit stodgy too. Quite expensive for a self-service cafe.

We were a large family out for a birthday meal and were incredibly well looked after at this amazing restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff are all amazing and so attentive. Was so good to see Chris back too . They even made a great effort to put my daughters candle on her desert for her . Thank you so much for a wonderful evening

The friendliest staff and best fried bread this side of the Pecos River. The full English breakfast is top drawer but the fried bread wins the prize! Love this place!

As a stranger to the area, checked the website that shows the shop was open. It wasn't so went to the other shop at the other side of town, where the food was excellent ,the staff friendly and very busy, good luck to them. They deserve it.

Great halloumi burger at this friendly seaside cafe. Sunny Sunday in October. Dog friendly outside. Lots of choice in menu. Very busy which is usually a good sign.

I visited here with my daughter and her family, and it was a treat of a place. The Sunday roast was delicious and the Yorkshires to die for. The staff were attentive and friendly. The puddings were glorious. Will definitely return.
