Hi we went there for dinner, the place was clean and tidy, the service was ok, we were in the rear restaurant which was pleasant but had no atmosphere. The food was ok but not quite the standard of other places we have visited in the area. It’s worth a visit.

A lovely find. Ordered four different meals.all came up together piping hot.tasted lovely with six veg. Good home cooking, we were all satisfied and would recommend. We also had desserts although we were full which were lovely. An added bonus the sweet shop. My parents had a sweet shop sixty years ago when I was a child, brought back memories, sweet tobacco, aniseed balls, pineapple chunks and raspberry ruffles and so much more. Will definitely return.

Three night stay at this hotel. We had a large room on the front but were not bothered by the traffic noise. The room was very comfortable and clean. The decor was outdated but they are apparently in a refurbishment programme. Breakfast was super, plenty on offer and hot food excellent. The young girls that run the front of house were very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Good value for money.

This is a non-pretentious, friendly, great value cafe and bakery. It's very busy, probably because it's so popular, so it might be necessary to wait a little while for the excellent cafe service. I enjoyed a full English breakfast whilst my husband had something similar. Happily for us, this cafe was also dog friendly. Whilst there, I did hear another customer waxing lyrical about the quality of their fresh bread. Unfortunately we were leaving Southwold the next day, so had no excuse to buy bread ourself.

I had a great roast dinner, but the experience was completely undermined by the dessert. After a few mouthfuls, I noticed it tasted off and had a strange smell. I sent it back, and was told by the waitress that while the cream was still in date, the chef had smelled it and agreed it had turned. He then passed on the message that I’d be fine and wouldn’t be charged. Frankly, that’s not good enough. If the chef knew the cream had gone off, it should never have been served. And if there’s a question about food safety, he should have spoken to me directly—not passed the message through someone else. I wasn’t looking for a free dessert—I was concerned about getting sick on the way home. It’s a real shame, because what could have been a great meal ended on a very sour note.

We were looking for a non pub meal early evening. Went here at 18:30 , board outside offering meals, no-one inside, told we are fully booked. More like we were wearing shorts - tailored I might add. Pretentious little place that does not deserve to survive
