We had a super time yesterday with friends at the Fine Dining Evening at The Gallery Restaurant in Stamford College. You have to book up well in advance by email or phone as it is so popular. The ambiance of the restaurant was excellent, it’s busy but not noisy. The students who provided the table service (I think working for their for nvq level 2) were very professional and friendly. The food (I think nvq level 3 students) was excellent. Up to the standard of a very expensive and exclusive establishment. The Gallery Restaurant is a credit to the hard working students and staff. We will be back! We wish all the students very good luck in their future careers.

Yesterday I was treated to afternoon tea. *THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO* The food was locally sourced, freshly made and bloody yummy. The service was out of this world, norhing was too much We sat with a view of the cathedral. My Italian friend had never had afternoon tea before so it was quite exciting to demonstrate the way of eating a scone 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 cream first (don't come for me) Please go and support our local business. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Graham Cleaver Tracy Cleaver and Claudia Bloody marvelous!!

We were greeted on arrival with welcoming smiles from the hosts and a head butt in the nuts by the very friendly dog Hector. The new kitchen upgrade has made a world of difference. With the array of freshly packets of snacks presented beautifully. The host also included some fresh herbs, but was unsure what to do with them. I'm sure the selection of new cookbooks will help. The fantastic oven and hob looked immaculately clean like it had never been used. I think the intention maybe to reduce cleaning by keeping it unused. The hosts and guests all enjoyed themselves, the atmosphere was excellent. Will have a return visit soon

Lovely family run cafe.. A hub of the local community! Happy to drive 10 miles to get there! Warm welcome, great service! Fit it in around a trip to the excellent Sue Ryder charity shop... :-)

We had high hopes for the new menu and new chef at The Millstone but left disappointed. We felt the menu was limited and unadventurous. In fact we didn't fancy any of the starters so opted for bread and olives. The bread was plain sliced brown bread with a very small portion of olive oil and balsamic (we had to ask for more oil). The main courses were served with abrupt, slightly rude service on very small plain white plates (what you would expect in a school canteen), my fish was clearly too big for the plate. I had ordered fish and chips but my chips were a side of skinny fries served on the side, not quite what I expected. We then waited for 25 minutes for our plates to be cleared, by which time we had no interest in a dessert. The staff made no attempt to chat or make us feel welcome, which for our local pub should be a given.

Had a fabulous lunch at The Bell where the food and service was exemplary. We sat outside in the garden which looked very pretty with the colourful hanging baskets .It was quiet on arrival so we had a choice of seats. The waitress, Helen, answered any questions regarding the menu and was very attentive and friendly. My husband had the blade of beef and I chose the chalk stream trout. Both dishes were absolutely delicious .We both opted for dessert and on recommendation I had the iced pistachio parfait which was a big hit.My husband chose the mini cheese plate as he loves the Stilton cheese and date cake combination. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable lunch again at The Bell .

We had a wonderful stay overnight and meal to celebrate a birthday here. We had some specific requests and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were very accommodating and helpful and also arranged some extra special touches. The accommodation was fantastic and very clean and tastefully presented. We had breakfast in the cafe that was also very good and again friendly and welcoming. Thank you Naz for all your help and emails.

Wonderful service from all the staff as I have an egg allergy. They went above and beyond to assist with this. The food was lovely and tasty and the staff couldn’t do enough for us to make our visit so enjoyable. Thank u !

30 years after moving to Peterborough………..Attended a special “casino” evening with U3A group, some thirty or so people and many other people. The restaurant was busy, the service was very good, the food was delicious and inventive, the ambience was warming. I am definitely going again. These students, after a hard day of lectures, tutorials or whatever, worked their socks off to produce excellent results and so many happy and satisfied customers …..wonderful. I was impressed.

Missed lunch as a consequence of a disruptive court case so grabbed a ham and cheddar sandwich large packet of Walkers crisps plus a can of San Pellegrino aranciata. But because the Italian drunk was outside the meal deal I had an astonishing bill of £8.10. Not even a paper bag to carry them in. A silk purse might have been more appropriate at that price!
