The best restaurants serving British food in Epping Forest East of England

Rude obnoxious little bald man nearly got a punch in the face over my parking outside the car park, will not be going back, tea is piss water as well.

Possibly the worst customer service I have experienced ever. Baileys comes as a 50ml as standard not 25ml.

I have no idea how good or bad Cov's Pie and Mash is, because they decided to cancel their catering booking for my friend's event at 10pm the day before, to go to the Euros final instead. They had booked and paid for pie and mash for 40 people, so Covs had offered to arrange a back-up plan, but had again let my friend down when the driver supposedly had a flat tyre and couldn't make it to the event. Covs did refund my friend (when prompted), but they had to scramble to arrange back-up options for the party, whilst also hosting the party. My friend had also arranged signage for the party which advertised Covs' social media, and ordered specific bowls and plates that Covs had told them to order - so even though Covs had refunded the order, they were still out of pocket. For all I know, the food may be lovely, but the lack of professionalism and customer service shown by Covs was disgraceful. Avoid using them for any sort of catering or delivery service.

Lovely little pub. Plenty of parking spaces, Lovely beer garden, friendly staff.

Lovely dinner, we had the pork, the duck and the lamb, such an exquisite experience, all produce is locally sourced. Fantastic host!

Prices have jumped. 3.50 for a small tray of chips! 5.00 for a very dry burger. Bikers tea hut much better food and value

Wow we just got to our hotel after the most wonderful visit to this excellent restaurant . Tired after a long day travel from wales to Harry Potter studios then to the restaurant with a 6 year old and 3 year old , we could not of had a warm enough welcome from the staff, Especially Rowarna . We felt welcome and comfortable soon as we walked through the door. We don’t experience this enough with two young children. She couldn’t do enough for us . Our boys adored her . The staff made them cocktails . The food was incredible. Was the nicest burger we’ve ever had and the kids food was all home made and delicious . We can’t thank Rowarna enough for being so kind and friendly towards on children . She even bought them a free desert as it was my sons 6th birthday, thank you again

What a lunch, giant "doorstop" sized sandwich that I will definitely going back for!!!! And at such a reasonable price served but really friendly staff.

We had a lovely stay, the staff were so lovely and friendly and the room was clean and one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in.

just got back from lunch today 13th October, i must say that it was the worse meal we have had there. The potatoes were hard as were the parsnips, my husband's lamb was mostly fat and the cauliflower cheese was grey in colour and looked like it was made several days ago. The staff seemed more interested in taking together rather than coming up to ask if everything was alright, we had to go to the bar to get drinks as no one came up to the table, it wasn"t as if it was busy. Unfortunately the crumble we had hardly had any crumble on it and what there was was so hard you could not eat it in fear of breaking a tooth. When eventually the girl came to the table to take our plates i told her we were disappointed in the lack of crumble and how hard it was, she just laughed. We have been coming here for years and know the governor quite well, although he was not there today, I am sure he would be disappointed in this review but I felt very strongly that the lack of service and the quality of food was very poor. It Was not cheap we paid £79.00 for the two of us, sorry but won,t be coming back any time soon.

Stayed next door and booked a table for dinner on line, quick and simple to do. Arrived and shown straight to our table and was served by Sophie who took our drinks order. Great choice of food including a list of specials. The food arrived which was hot and plentiful and tasted lovely. Followed this with a desert again spot on. All round impressed and would definitely recommend. Thanks again to Sophie for the great service and chat.

Good food/chill settings/friendly staff. I love it here, all year round it’s a nice place to come a chill out solo with or with friends
