The food was nice. Only disappointment there was no mint sauce with the roast lamb.

The atmosphere was brilliant, very very lively with live music. It felt like a day party 🥳. The only reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 is due to the mushy peas, I believe they could have been better. But overall, the fish and chips were bang on.

Always lovely food and service we had the 2 course summer menu when we got home looked at the bill we were charged £11.00 xtra for the starter which should have been included in the 2 course lunch I thought the bill was a bit steep sad but this happens.

Simply the best restaurant in Loughton for me! Excellent service, and you can pre-order your drinks so their signature cocktail or Bloody Mary can join you the minute you arrive the place. Outstanding and interesting food. Puppy friendly, so you can enjoy with your dog on the outside terrace or the inside deck. Well done everyone!

Wow we just got to our hotel after the most wonderful visit to this excellent restaurant . Tired after a long day travel from wales to Harry Potter studios then to the restaurant with a 6 year old and 3 year old , we could not of had a warm enough welcome from the staff, Especially Rowarna . We felt welcome and comfortable soon as we walked through the door. We don’t experience this enough with two young children. She couldn’t do enough for us . Our boys adored her . The staff made them cocktails . The food was incredible. Was the nicest burger we’ve ever had and the kids food was all home made and delicious . We can’t thank Rowarna enough for being so kind and friendly towards on children . She even bought them a free desert as it was my sons 6th birthday, thank you again

I’m a Burger big fan and here I had one of the best burger . You can tell that the food here is high quality. Very professional service and good vibe. Highly recommended

12 of us had a lovely lunch there today. Apparently the hottest day of the year so far. Luckily the air-con was working well! The summer lunch menu was explored and everyone loved their meal which was great value. The mussels looked great! The staff were very pleasant especially Sofia. Definitely due a return visit soon.

Wow! Not only is the food amazing at TDH the service and team have blown me away. My parents visited today for lunch to celebrate their 40th anniversary so I thought I would message the restaurant to ask if they could do something nice like write happy anniversary on a dessert plate or give them a glass of bubbles and they went above and beyond!! They printed photos from a previous visit, gave them a glass of champagne and flowers, my mum and dad have left feeling spoiled and loved and that's more than I could've wanted being that I live in Australia and are not able to be there to celebrate this social occasion. Thank you team TDH's Loughton, I will never forget it xx

Visited the restaurant with great expectations. Ordered cappuccino, sorry we can't serve that. Ordered filter coffee, sorry more bad news! We can make you a normal cup of coffee! Opted for tea. The bunny chows where good! Just enough heat and very flavoursome. But please sort out your coffee!!!

I feel sad and angry that I have to write this review My husband and I were happen to be staying in Loughton for a few days. We walked in to TDH one afternoon for drinks. Cocktails were very good and menu looked rather interesting. We ordered Fried Crisp Cornish Squid, Togarashi Pepper, Lime, Squid Ink Mayo and that was really good! it was served with Key lime, not Persian one! Impressed so far we decided to come back later that evening for salt marsh lamb rare treat. Service was friendly to start, (tables were a bit sticky, common problem I suppose with commercial cleaning detergent not being wiped off properly due to its high viscosity, minor issue thought) We came back in the evening and ordered salt marsh lamb. It is rare and expensive, and needs to be cooked to perfection. It was ordered as medium and was cooked and presented quite done (based on other reviews i am not the only person who thinks that lamb there is overcooked) It was sent back and another rack was cooked, to perfection! We expressed our gratitude to the chef and he seemed to be fine, (after all when one pays £34 for a small rack of utterly delicious rare salt march lamb one expects it to be cooked to perfection or near. ) Meanwhile attitude of serving staff/management…, Changed drastically… We have order selection of cheeses, it was really good one (avoid Lincolnshire poacher perhaps) and more red wine, Malbec and Merlot were ok, easy drinking. We also had a few cocktails. After we have sent overcooked rack of lamb back we were treated such as personae non gratae by the serving/managing staff. We ordered two more large glasses of red wine to finish lovely cheeses that did come with delicious sourdough bread and asked for the bill so we can slowly enjoy cheeses that were finely getting to the right temperature. We settled up at 22.13 (according to their website they are open till 12am) While we were still enjoying our cheese and LARGE glasses of wine waiter/manager came up with a take away box and placed it on our table?! We have never asked for ?!? Basically pointing us to F off ?! And complaining that place is empty and they feel like closing up! (Perhaps you shouldn’t be open on Mondays if you can’t be bothered) While we still have wine glasses full! I was so f.ing furious that I was going to ask if he is also going to bring us plastic bottles to decanter our wine and kick us out properly! after all we have only spent +£200 with them that day on quite Monday Whilst my husband who is a cancer patient going chemo/radiation therapy in Guy’s London (hence we are happen to stay here) told me that it was not worth an argument … Both of us have extensive experience of world travel and cuisine, I have enjoyed experience of delicious food cooked on open fire with Beduins in Africa and dining at the Leander club, and everything in between … … at no point I was ever thrown a paper take away box asking me to leave Such a shame .. It started really well..

We had a very nice meal in Tom, Dick and Harry’s in Loughton last night. Food was of the highest quality and the service was spot on – there when needed but left alone otherwise. Menu highlights include the Native Lobster, Cornish Mussels and Tom’s Burger as mains and sweetcorn ribs and cauliflower cheese with parmesan crisps as starters. The bread is excellent (always a sign of a good restaurant)– 48 hour sourdough with rock salted butter and the French fries are spot on too. For puddings we had a very good cheeseboard – once again a sign of a good restaurant – and a choux pastry and coffees. The room is a bit noisy and the price is not cheap – but real quality never, ever is.

It was a busy Friday night and the place was buzzing. It was great catching up with Arto and Cimi. The decor is unchanged: quirky figures on the walls, inviting lighting, a full-bar on the left with seating, large sliding glass doors on the right which leads onto a terraced patio. Armed with complimentary Proseccos - thanks, Cimi - the chat and laughter soon began as we perused the menu; though small, it's varied and should suit most palates. We soon made our selection. Angela and I went for the grilled octopus: simply delicious. Our mains comprised of a Dover Sole and Lobster with fries; both dishes were excellent in preparation and taste. This was baptised with a nicely chilled Sauvignon Blanc. We concluded this culinary perfection with a lemon tea, black Americano, and black Sambucas. Plus, there was live entertainment; the singer was great, and captured past classics that had us singing along. It was another lovely dining experience with chat, laughter, and great food. Thanks Cimi and Arto, and all at TDH for a delightful night. Our compliments to the chefs for their artistry and efforts in the 'hot room'. Until the next time, keep smiling and be happy.

Started of fine with a nice table in the sun on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and looking forward to Sunday lunch,food was great as always is, but as we were on a sunny table I was hoping to get a few drinks in,after waiting 30 minutes baking in the sun we decided to pay the bill and leave, Such a shame

Three of us descended on this delightful eatery on Thursday evening, and we weren't disappointed. We were greeted warmly by Cimi; it's always great seeing him, and the chat and laughter flowed immediately - great. The decor is unchanged: tiled, light-coloured walls adorned with quirky figureheads, recessed lighting, a full-bar on the left, and large sliding glass doors on the right leading onto a terraced area. We were shown to a table of our choice. Then, armed with complimentary Proseccos - thanks, Cimi - we made our selection from a small but varied menu, which should suit most palates. Our starters consisted of grilled octopus, scallops with pork belly cubes, and chicken wings; all were perfectly prepared and presented, and suitably devoured within seconds. For our mains, we had salmon, half-lobster and fries, and chicken skewers; again, all were perfectly prepared and full of flavour. This culinary brilliance was washed down with a delightfully chilled Sauvignon Blanc. Being gluttons, two of us then found room for a shared red berry pie with Amaretto drizzled over the top - wonderful! We concluded this gastronomic marvel with lemon tea, cappuccino, black Americano, and black Sambucas. Thank you, Cimi, and all at TDH for a great dining experience with laughter and chat, and our gracious compliments to the chefs for their artistry. We will be seeing you soon. Lovely atmosphere! I came with my family for a birthday meal, and was not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was amazing.

Visited 12/05/24 for Lunch. Staff very attentive, great food (Sunday roast was delicious) and nice Atmosphere. Only downside was no customer parking but Sainsbury’s is nearby and cheap all day parking.

Great food, service and setting! The waiter advised us to get two portions of the sourdough bread and butter and he was not wrong - so tasty! Mussels and chips were delicious and reasonably priced. Amazing food, I had the scallops for starter, mussels for main and peanut butter cheesecake for dessert and it was so delicious. The live music was fantastic and it was just such a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend as a date night place especially if you live locally.

Guess it depends what you’re after… went on a Friday night and it was packed with large groups of women singing and dancing to the singer. Food was pretty good, but not cheap.

Had my birthday meal there last night and had one the the best fillet steaks of my life - genuinely! Absolutely melt in the mouth perfection - perfectly cooked by the chef. The lamb was good too and the vegetarian aubergine was very tasty as well. Highly recommended.

Busy and friendly. Sometimes charged a service charge on a beer order. Not necessary when going to the bar.

I absolutely love this place. The food is delicious and the service, spot on. Good wine selection too. I was surprised at the Padrón peppers on the starters list, as good as you have them in Northern Spain. I just wish they get live music back on, that piano needs some action!

My husband and I stopped by this restaurant on the way home from a road trip for some lunch from a recommendation off the Michelin guide. It was very quiet around 2pm when we went which was nice. Definitely recommend the fresh bread - it was delightful. The food was very good, although I will say that portion size was a bit lacking for the price in my opinion. The true start of this establishment is the cocktails. My husband and I have agreed to come back to try more cocktails once we were not driving home because they really were outstanding. The atmosphere was very nice, nicely decorated. The service was a bit stand-offish. I didn't feel like our waiter was overly friendly which was unexpected for a very quiet time. Overall, would definitely go back and try some more drinks and dishes!

Fantastic range of food cooked very, very well. Staff were outstanding on our visit in not only their hostility but also their honest opinion and help when ordering. We loved the croquets and lamb main. Only wish I could remember the name of the cocktails we ordered as they were sublime! Definitely recommend and already looking forward to our next visit.

They added £80 of additional items to our bill (which we hadn't ordered). When we queried it, they apologised and said it was a table mix-up. Be careful and double check your bill before paying.

Another lovely visit to the best restaurant we have locally. An added bonus is when the delightful Jackie is on duty, as she was at lunchtime today. With Jackie "in charge" the restaurant runs like a dream and she always finds a few minutes to chat, which is splendid. The restaurant is great and Jackie is wonderful. Put the two together and what a winning combination you have.

Great restaurant and one of Loughtons best. Service was excellent and food is good. I had a roast beef which was perfect. That said the accompanying vegetables weren't special considering the price, and a few mistakes made with the chef forgetting people's items. All in all a good evening out though.

Great night tonight with my family. Busy restaurant when we arrived so was expecting a delay in service. In fact the service was great. Couldn’t have been better. So was the food. Well cooked, hot and very tasty. Great atmosphere.

Service really bad had to keep asking for drinks and having to ask were they were after waiting 20 mins. Food was ok but again not served in a polite manor. Table was not cleared between courses. General lack of attention to the customers even though the restaurant was not busy on saturday night. Overall very poor.

34 of us celebrated my friend's 60th birthday at TD&H. The restaurant provided excellent food and great service throughout the evening. Manus worked closely with us to ensure everything went well and he and his team did a superb job. Fab entertainment from Craig Neil too !!

Had a bad experience here. Tasteless roast, bad service, rude staff. Wish I'd gone to The Standard down the road where they do a MUCH better roast. Will never go back, the roasts are not good quality.

Food was really really great, service was TERRIBLE not for lack of staff just clearly not trained or interested (they then charge 12.5% service charge). A lot of the menu options were unavailable. It was ridiculously loud that you couldn’t actually talk to your friends on the table and that’s coming from a 30 something! Shame ruins the good food!

Attentive service, delicious food with a great range of options. Reasonably priced for the quality of food. Atmosphere is relaxed but also fitting for a special event or occasion. Have returned a few times to celebrate with family.

Christmas special, was a chicken breast? Very disappointed, all meals x 6 were warm, not hot. Quite expensive really. Won't go again.

Fantastic food, great ambience. Often times we focus on the service from waiters, the food etc, but for me the unsung hero of this establishment is surely Daisy behind the bar. Visited for my partners birthday tonight and I had to say the service was amazing from start to finish they couldn’t do enough for us nothing was an issue the food was delicious the restaurant is a really nice place to spend the evening.

Food was okay but service was awful we were forced to drink tap water as they didn’t offer bottled and the waiter insinuated that we should get additional menu items as we wouldn’t be able to afford it, we also had to get someone’s attention when we the dessert menu etc, for the money we paid it was definitely disappointing.

Really poor experience from the moment we were ushered to a dirty table. Appreciate you're busy on a Sunday afternoon but that needs to be managed and a strategy employed to ensure your customers' experience. Someone took our drinks order. Without a pen or pad. 40 mins later shard that we had been forgotten, she apologised but then proc3eded brought 1/4 cocktail at intervals of 10 mins meaning that we couldn't enjoy as a group. The dirty martini was made with olives saturated in oil and was swimming in grease which was returned. The manager came out and was incredibly passive aggressive, no apology offered and clearly wanted to assert his authority. We used to come here fairly often. Service has slipped now each and every time. This will absolutely be the last time & I will encourage others not to book.

Went on Saturday night Jubilee weekend with a friend for dinner. All of the food was very good- in particular the corn "rib" starter and the rack of lamb was perfectly cooked. Staff were friendly, helpful and always available when needed. The ambience was lively and fun. There was a live singer (Sammie Jay) who provided quality entertainment. Will definitely visit again

Great atmosphere and food to match

Very poor experience. Firstly, the kitchen completely missed one of our starters. Secondly, my rack of lamb was very over cooked and sent back. 15 mins later, the rest of my party was almost finished and I still had no main. I was told by the manager that I should have ordered medium rare if it was over cooked even though the waitress never even asked us how we wanted our food cooked. Side point - my partner had the same dish which was beautifully cooked. Offering to remove the missed item and late main off the bill is great but don’t accuse me of misordering. This isn’t the first time I’ve eaten out and I rarely send food back. POOR.

I went with my friends for lunch. I am vegetarian, and they only have a couple of veg or vegan dishes on the menu. I ordered grilled cauliflower, but I didn't like it and just ate quarter of it. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their non veg food. When the waitress came to take our plates away, she asked me the reason for not eating my food. I explained that I found it oily, and it tastes more.burnt than just grilled. And I also said that I wouldn't like to.compalin. She came back with the bill, and to my surprise, she didn't charge us for my dish. I might not go back (only because of the veg/vegan menu), but I would definitely recommend them to my friends. Where do I even begin? I went on a test run here. Stratospheric prices, offensive management, mediocre food/portions. Feels very much like style over substance. Can't tell you how disappointed we were. It's kind of put up and shut up. As long as you don't raise your head above the parapet, all will be well. Really wanted to love this and to be honest, really hope they get some expert advice and sort this out. I certainly don't go out to be intimidated. One star is for our lovely waiter who tried their best. The local people need good options for dining out!
