Cosy little cafe with good food and friendly staff, the ideal place for a stop off during a bike ride. Traditional breakfast was lovely, will deffo return. Will be nice sitting on the terrace when the weather warms up again.

Friendly even with COVID . Very Reasonable Price's with Good Food. Breakfast only to 11am. Even with nearby Trains , the Owner has made a GREAT AREA with PLANTING and Good Quality Seating WELL SPACED APPART.

A lovely little cafe right next to Sawbridgeworth Station! I had smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel and black coffee all good!

This place is handy for the station,river walks and the antique shops. Hot chocolate was amazing as was sticky ginger cake, made by the owner’s mother. My daughter enjoyed her bagel too. The lady who served us was friendly and everything was reasonably priced.

A small cafe with 4 or 5 tables in doors and more outside. Very clean. Home made cakes on the counter. And they looked wonderful. I had a black coffee and a hot salt beef sandwich. Both were very good. There is an air of a London connection about the place. I think the Pie and Mash is probably a specialty. That and the salt beef plus a range of bagels described as from Brick Lane gave me the indication of a London connection.

Food was fine, drinks were fine. Service was a bit uneven, at times it felt like we were in the way and at others it was very friendly. Would have scored 3.5 given the option.

Called in for breakfast. this is the second visit the first time I wasn’t impressed but I thought I would give it another try ,this was a mistake it was even worse this time. we were the only ones there and it took ages to arrive and when it did it was terrible all over cooked burnt bacon dried up beans old tastings toast ,strange tasting coffee. We definitely won’t be going back again, I would rather go hungry

We booked Track Side for a Sunday lunch family birthday celebration for 9 people. We had an assortment of roast dinners, pie and mash and veggie options. The food was fresh and tasty and Tracey did a fantastic job making us feel welcome. Informal casual dining that is smashing - have a treat and keep it simple -it made such a lovely change and reminded us of our childhood. The diner has undergone a revamp and is looking fresh and chic.

A really cosy cafe. The warm salt beef sandwich and home cooked bread pudding and custard filled us up for the rest of the day. The tea is just how it should be. Excellent value for money.

What a fantastic café. We visit the nearby antiques centres fairly regularly and have often thought of calling in but it has either been closed or very busy. Mid week and just past lunch we found it quiet and what a find! A great diner serving really tasty food at an extremely competitive price. We had intended to have pie and mash but the breakfast was too tempting and we were not disappointed. I can thoroughly recommend this diner for cheap eats and conveniently located next to Sawbridgeworth station.

The pie and mash was just how I remembered it from the old days in London. The lady who owns it makes the pies, she is also a veggie so the veggie ones are tasty too (my friend said). The menu is good and there is a special price for OAPs. She also reserved a table for us. I popped in the day before to find out if it was closed, there are a couple of websites that say it is closed and to top it all their phone was out of order. It is literally on the trackside, you can see the London to Stansted/Cambridge trains passing. This is the second time I have eaten here and I will go again.

Fantastic substitute for 'the real thing' ~ if you can't get to Walthamstow!!! Good value, friendly staff, would definitely recommend. Have only ever eaten pie & mash here (why would I want anything else!!!) they do a good cuppa too

This little diner, near a railway line is a great place for lunch. Good chilli dishes, veggie dishes, home made pie + mash and liquor and generously portioned hot salt beef sandwiches. Reasonably priced and with a modestly priced OAP menu (£5.75 for main dish and pudding/ home made cake). Chef could improve on her pasta cooking a little bit but apart from that you can't really go wrong

Gave the pie and mash a try they thrived but you can't beat the real thing nice cup of tea tough they also do OAP deals

Been here a few times and never been disappointed. Although the cafe seems to specialise in pie and mash we have never tried it but what we have eaten has been well cooked and good value. The service is friendly and efficient and will try to accommodate any request.

I took my daughter for pie'n'mash, wasn't dissapointed. Lovely pies with chilli vinegar and a proper cup of tea. They do a varied menu if you don't fancy pie and mash. Worth a try, you won't regret it.

Almuerzo con amigos y no puedo recomendar lo suficiente. El pastel y Puré era excelente y tartas fue revelado ahora de un nuevo proveedor de calidad era magnífico. Visitas previas para un desayuno inglés completo también al más alto nivel.

He comido aquí varias veces y es muy bueno tener inglés tradicional fayre - me recuerda a mi infancia!

No es muy bonito, y puré de tarta, tarta horrible. . quemada, seco y sin sabor. Cuando nos quejamos dijeron que es lo que se llega. Ellos simplemente calentar! !!

Una experiencia muy agradable. La comida estaba bien preparado, las mujeres que sirven era muy amable y servicial, y los precios eran extremadamente razonables. Esta es, sin duda, una cena que estaremos encantados de ir de nuevo. También hay un menú senior a precios reducidos. Muy recomendable.

Stopped there and picked up pie and mash to take away but never again mince in the pie was tasless and the pie was burnt and hard .i have eaten pie and mash for years as I am a Londoner but this was the worse I have ever had .

Visited trackside diner over the weekend with my husband and daughter, they both had the pie and mash and said how delicious it was and I had the burger served with chips and a side salad. The burger was amazing, the best I've tasted and the wait wasn't long at all. We will be returning to trackside diner very soon and my daughter can't wait to try the homemade burger!

Just finished eating in trackside diner, me and friend both had the chicken burger special, it was one of the best i have tasted!! Lovely well run family business I will be back.
