We booked in for brunch which was lovely. My wife had mushroom Benedict and I had avocado and poached eggs on ciabatta, whilst the kids went for english breakfasts and waffles. All the food was great, and service exceptional. They also accommodated our dog who was provided with a nice soft bed and her choice off the doggy menu. We then returned that evening for tapas. We had a wonderful seafood platter plus various dishes of which the deep fried crispy chilli chicken was a particular favourite. All in all a lovely place, food and service, and we shall definitely be returning next time we in the area.

Every weekend I travel around the UK sightseeing and eating out and not once have I ever felt i needed to write a negative review. until today. This cafe has been the worst all rounder experience. Overpriced Bad quality food - Salty and Bitter coffee. Rude owner - attitude and even swearing. Extremely overpriced, £9 for “small” 2 bits of bacon, 2 small over cooked eggs and a piece of lukewarm toast and £11.50 for the “large” breakfast. The food was very salty and the coffee was bitter to taste. When questioned about the lack of food of the price, the owner was extremely rude and nasty, told us tuff, so had no choice to eat it and over heard him saying " Fk them", zero customer service, it was like he took it as personal attack that we wasn’t happy to the point I felt that I had to leave my phone on record while we ate due to his attitude. Even when we left the cafe, he still harassed us. Avoid this cafe.

4 of us visited for the Easter Sunday 12:00 sitting. I’d heard a lot a lot about this place, and really glad we tried it. First impressions, a lovely old building, and a really friendly welcome. We got our drinks and went to our fable. The food looked and smelled, amazing. We each went to the food counter make our choice. I am currently on crutches, but the chef loaded my plate and then gave it to another team member to add veg etc. She was very polite and helpful and carried the plate back to my table for me. A great choice of food available and good portions given. I had the venison pie, as did my friend, our wives had different meals, one lamb shank and one rabbit. We all thoroughly enjoyed what we had. Only two of us had deserts and they were both very nice. Our friends were visiting, but we live local, and will definitely go back.

We visited on a Friday early evening, family of four adults getting together to celebrate my daughters birthday and to enjoy a catch up over a delicious dinner. Staff were very attentive and polite, we all enjoyed our food, no complaints there, the service was very good as were the cocktails and wine. So why only a 3*? The NOISE!! A table of six diners next to us found it neccessary to shout at one another, laugh like hyenas and generally make their presence felt by being complete morons. They managed to spoil our evening as we were unable to have much conversation, we ate our food as swiftly as possible, didn’t bother with desserts just a quick coffee and left. Yes, we could have asked to be moved but my partner did a quick scan of the restaurant which seemed pretty full, and in the good old English style, we didn’t want to make a fuss. If only management had been a little more vigilant and handled the situation, and asked them to keep the noise down a bit we would’ve been perfectly happy. Such a disappointing birthday meal.

This excellent restaurant has now been obliged to close so that the premises can be turned into residential dwellings. It was outstanding because of its unusually huge, varied and delicious menu, its thoughtful staff and pleasant design. There was nothing quite like it. A sad loss to Sheringham and north Norfolk.

The food was amazing , everything was cooked beautifully and the staff were very attentive and informative . Amazing value for a set 2 or 3 course with just the right size menu to choose from . You know if a menu is too vast it’s not doable for the chef to be all his own work . Thank you everyone . We had a lovely evening
