The Kingfisher in North Norfolk

Walked in at 14.56, told young girl order, she then said sorry we are not serving coffee now because we close in 4 minutes. If you are open until 15.00 then should be served takeaway hot drinks up until then. No sign to say they stop serving takeaway coffee before they close.

My first visit despite living here for 25 years. Friendly welcome and prompt service. I had the breakfast and you can tell the quality. A bit more expensive than other places but the standard makes up for it. Definitely recommend.

Really good service and excellent food. I've not had a bad meal from this cafe and I don't believe I ever will. I always go home with a slice of cake as the sponge cakes are really moist and goes really great well with a late afternoon tea.

Excellent speedy service and the food is amazing. Best of all it’s dog friendly which was a must because it was raining when we arrived. Will be back if in the area again. Enough said.

Popped into the Kingfisher café for brunch. The whole restaurant is simple, but very smart and well kept. They had six people on service and all were absolutely charming. Service 5 out of 5 Quality of food, 5 out of 5 Ambience. Warming, most people had come from a lovely walk, probably on the beach nearby and we’re looking forward to tucking into a nice meal on this cold Sunday morning. I ordered from the menu, a full English all day breakfast, photo attached.

After a chilly walk along the beach, we popped in for a cuppa. Nice and warm inside, welcoming staff, an d very spacious cafe. Both the tea and coffee were good. Couldn't resist the cakes and the Victoria sponge was to die for, so light and fluffy with deliciously fruity jam. Ice creams were good too.

Stopped for Coffee after a chilly refreshing stroll and couldn't resist a Full English Breakfast...... EXCELLENT! Produce was excellent quality service was brilliant and all in a first class breakfast. We will be back 😁

Usually very good but ordered a large cod and chips and ended up with a small size, on querying I was told it was the large despite a customers previous “large” portion didn’t fit in the box. £15 for a fish and chip supper is a lot of money, and as a regular loyal customer feel very annoyed and shall not be returning for a long time. Not even a sorry for making a mistake and no attempt to resolve. Very unhappy customer. Will be going elsewhere now.

We were looking for somewhere to stop for coffee and maybe scones on the way to Happisburgh and this fitted the bill. Service was excellent and our coffee very good. Scones were tasty too.

Visited for a takeaway. Very busy but is well organised so didn’t have to wait too long. All the food we had was really good. Generous portions.

We have a caravan on the Happisburgh site and have made a point of walking to the Kingfisher for years,it’s good coffee and provides consistently good breakfasts and is hugely popular and we would recommend it to anyone ,very friendly staff,the adverse comments made by some folk are frankly laughable

Absolutely dreadful food. The omelette was overloaded with Ham with very little ‘omelette’. The fish in a bun… what fish? Mostly crumb and tasted bitter. The scampi was tasteless and the chips were bitter with the taste of old oil. Just nasty.

We were a party of ten. Service was very efficient despite being very busy when we arrived. The breakfasts were lovely with no Hint of grease! Will definitely go back.

We’ve been going to the Kingfisher for the past 10 years for fish and chips, and in fact, we go straight past one not half a mile from our house in Bacton and the Kingfisher is leaps and bounds ahead of it ,on service, quality and the staff. Don’t miss out on this little gem if you’re in the area.

Sat outside which is nice as you overlook the sea.Ordered a bacon roll for lunch which came in about one minute.The bacon was crispy and hot so all seemed fine.It was only when I got awful stomach pains late that night that I suddenly thought how could they cook bacon that quickly?I can only assume it was reheated, so perhaps that, or the cleanliness of the food prep area is not very good.Even now a day and a half later I've still got bad stomach pains and still rushing to the loo. Booked a takeaway afternoon tea, it was totally delicious, great selection of sandwiches and cakes, since Covid haven’t been able to eat inside so takeaway only, this is a great cafe with good service.

As a group if 5 friends out for a walk we decided to go for a coffee. We entered & asked for a table for 5. The proprietor just barked "No". Thinking that the empty tables we reserved we just decided to look elsewhere when he suddenly said "You can have a 3 & a 2 but the kitchen is shut" Once seated we started to chat from table to table & he rudely told us to turn back to face our own tables because the rules are no more than 4 to a table & 2 metres apart. We know that it is actually 6 to a table & 1 metre apart. We said nothing. We ordered our drinks, one of us asking politely if the large latte had a double shot of coffee. This rude man just snapped"well Iwouldnt be serving a large coffee with just one shot would I" We were absolutely dumbfounded and rendered speechless by this man's attitude & rudeness to his customers. Its not easy to silence a group of 5 ladies but silent we remained. We should have walked out but we were too shocked to react in time! A bottle of pop was presented without a glass we were not offered sugar for the hot drinks. One of our tables hadnt been sanitised, there was salt on it. All the time we were having our drinks he just stood (at a social distance!!!) glaring at us. I could go on. It was the most uncomfortable experience each of us had ever had in a cafe. When we asked for the bill he said there was no charge because one of the tables had salt on it!!! Gobsmacked again we beat a hasty retreat, wondering what on earth was going on. Perhaps because we were so quiet he thought we were reviewing him. Who knows. Please dont get the cafe mixed up with with takeaway right next door which has the same name, I have no experience of this. My husband and I stayed in Walcott for a week from 11 to 18 September, and we were so lucky, we had a rather warm and sunny week. Based on Tripadvisor reviews we ate at The Kingfisher Cafe twice. We ate outside and put our contact details on a paper menu, which was great as that menu would not be used again. All the staff wore masks and were very efficient. The food was served promptly and was absolutely delicious, the portions were very large. My husband had the big Breakfast and I had the omlette. Later in the week we returned in the afternoon for ice cream, I had the ginger sorbet flavour, the ice cream was the most creamy and delicious ice cream I have ever tasted.And of course we returned for another lovely breakfast on our last morning! Thank you, Kingfisher Cafe!!

Popped in here for lunch. Cafe is very Covid compliant, they make sure everyone wears a face covering and all the tables are placed with plenty of room in between. The cleanliness is the thing that stands out the most. On top of this the food and service are top notch. Would definitely recommend.

The Kingfisher Fish and Chip Café proved to be a gem of a find. We had a take away meal (phoned in for collection, but you can call and order for take away), which stunned us by the portion size – HUGE (see photograph). The food was nice and hot, and to MY delight, the “Rock” (as it is called on the menu) was PROPER ROCK SALMON (Dog Fish), not Huss which is normally passed off as “Rock Salmon”. As said huge portions making the food exceptionally good value for money. We will certainly be buying another order of F & C when we return to Walcott next year for our holiday.

A lovely small sea front cafe - we visited 4 years ago and were in the area again and returned this summer, just for an ice cream. Just a medium Mr Whippy - but these were the biggest ice creams in cones I have ever seen! - wonderful value for money and enjoyed by all 7 of us! Thank you Kingfisher Cafe - you are the best!

Really lovely vegan breakfasts and hot dogs. It’s great to see a cafe that is taking the initiative to offer vegan food (unlike a certain cafe in Bacton that clearly have no regard for allergens!).Staff always friendly and polite. Excellent setting. What more could you want?

After a very poor fish and chips elsewhere it was lovely to have fish and chips here and they were quality! A bit of a wait due to Covid restrictions but it was worth it! Large haddock was large indeed! Friendly staff as well.
