The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

What a fabulous pub! I wish it was our local! The food is absolutely fantastic, there's some great cask ales and wines and the service is great too. There's a choice of smaller plates or slightly larger ones. Everything we had was just delicious. I would recommend anyone in the vicinity to try it. We met up with family and had a walk afterwards. It's not an all-day service though, so check dining times and book beforehand.

Popped into the cafe with my husband today. Both of us asked for sandwiches not on the menu - the waitress was so lovely, as was the chef, totally accommodated us. Sandwiches were delicious, generous portion and lovely ingredients. Sadly we had to rush off due to an appointment but will definitely be back!

Amazing staff who did not flinch when 18 of us turned up for breakfast. Natalie, Oomar and Rukiya all went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. All ordered different breakfasts and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Kids enjoyed the village feel and the stream on the street. Would defo go again

Lovely friendly staff. Fast service great food. We sat outside in the garden which has a Happy pleasant atmosphere with an area specially for children.

Lovely little country boozer with rooms upstairs. Very attentive host, well appointed rooms and free tinterweb. Would definitely stay again.

Had 2 different main courses, both excellent, must say best fish & chips I’ve ever had, great service, always happy to accommodate

looks can be deceiving We popped in for an impromptu lunch whilst travelling north. Whilst the decoration may need updating, it is extremely clean (excellent) 6 of us really challenged the menu (which was huge, probably too big) everything was fresh, hot and very very good. Anyone thinking of heading in for food, head in....very good and great value for money)

Was told about the food here so I thought I would take my mum for tea on Saturday night . The 2 young girls on duty was very polite and service from them was good. Food was delicious home made steak pie 😋lots to choose from on the menu. Only one thing let it down and that was the music . 🎵 but thank you for the lovely food.

This was our first visit to The Haxey Gate Inn having driven past it on a few occasions and seen a few cars parked outside and read some of the reviews and had a look at their website which could do with the prices updating, we booked a table in advance and were shown to it promptly on our arrival. Although the initial service was good the rest of the evening turned out to be no more than average with waits for our food order to be taken and then served and the food itself proving to be no better than average. It maybe a while before we choose to return.

When today for the first time while stopping in Mablethorpe for a few day fantastic service and food wish I gone on first day of break because I would of eaten there everyday liver and onions perfect and so was the sausage and mash.hope to see you soon when we move up to Mablethorpe thank you x

What a lovely spot for breakfast. Myself and my partner were very impressed. The staff were absolutely lovely… very friendly and accommodating. Cara was amazing. portions were 👌will definitely return.

Lovely pub dinner, love the atmosphere - staff are always wonderful. Nice outdoor seating area, and great every time Ive been. Great local pub!

Went here with my husband and a friend for post-parkrun breakfast/brunch. Although vegan options were not marked up on the menu, we asked about vegan options and the lady was very accommodating. She was very careful and checked with us about allergies. Great attention to detail and care, even checking about chocolate sprinkles on the capuccinos and assuring us that there was no milk in the bread they used for toast. Impressed as most places don't go to that extent. Very pleasant experience and great full English (vegan) breakfast. Highly recommend!

No good for us. No dog policy. Just wish they would put a sign on the door. The Lincolnshire Wold website lists it as dog friendly this is only the case if you don't mind sitting in a draughty dismal outside corridor.
