The title says it all, this place has always been a tad rough. Louth has lots of better pubs. Try the Masons Arms.

Visited Louth for the market,as we were staying in nearby Mablethorpe.,we just popped in for a quick drink and stayed for two! Inside was very good with large comfy settees.,service was good and the Aspall the best I’d ever drunk.well worth a visit

Came past this as coming from a no mark chippy near them ..on asking and seeing dog friendly, it was game on ..First impression was spot on clean roomy and staff very happy ..and polite, Ordered 3 meals as it was dinner time .waiting time very good .the seats sofas may be a bit low but they was comfortable. The meals was well proportioned and hot ..the tea and coffee was boiling hot and not like the luke warm stuff in some well known pubs ..Will definitely come again

Unfortunately, the pub doesn't do any real ales so our choice of drinks was limited. The toilets stank and were dirty. However, I suppose this place is directed more to younger customers and gets livelier later in the day, (we went on a Friday lunchtime and it was deserted). Needless to say, we had 1 drink and moved on!!

Whoever the barman was yesterday 17/7/21 at around 5pm he was very arrogant and rude, he seriously needs to get some people skills, I won't go again if he is working a shift. I thought Rick had better taste in the bar staff he employs

First time in Louth for over ten years. We thought we’d revisit The Turk’s Head as I always used to bring my two boys here when we came for the orthodontist. Thankfully the food was even better than it was all those years ago! I had fresh fish which was battered to perfection- I’m not a fan of fish completely covered in thick batter- and was delicious! My two boys also said they really enjoyed their food. The portion sizes were great and you could just tell the food had been made to order- even the onion rings were homemade- which makes a real difference! The chef, Julie, was lovely and nothing seemed too much trouble. We will definitely be returning the next time we visit Louth!

We popped in as it was cold outside, having never been in the place before. As we approached the bar, not knowing where to sit, we were directed to a large open area, which was usually used as a disco, all of the tables placed around the walls. To say the atmosphere was cold would be an understatement.. we were the only customers in the dining room; the bar area appeared quite full. The barman came in and switched on 2 TV's, 2 different channels! We were quickly asked for our orders, and these were served in good time. We had the Italian chicken and a quiche from a varied and informative menu. We cleared our plates, the food was good, although apart from piles of lettuce, the salad was poor, just a wedge of tomato and a slice of cucumber. We didn't know where to leave a tip, so went to the bar to pay and see if there was a gratuity plate; we were called back by the waitress who informed me that cards were not being taken, their system was down! The stickers on the entrance door showed that cards were acceptable and this should have been amended. We didn't have enough cash to pay, so asked where there was a cashpoint, we were visiting the town, and were directed to the Spar shop " across the road." I went outside but could not see a Spar shop, it was around a corner. I drew out some cash from the cash point, and had to pay 95p for the privilege. That was the tip sorted anyway, we wouldn't be giving one. We paid and left, still being the only customers. Once we had walked past the Spar shop, several banks came into view, with cash points that were free to use. Whilst the food was quite tasty and good value, Louth is quite lucky to have many eateries within a small area and next time we visit, The Turks Head will not be on our itinerary.

Went on Friday 6th December and was not disappointed. Had their Christmas dinner. 2 courses for £12.50 including a drink. I was ALL home made even the Yorkshire pudding. It was very tasty. The veg. was cooked but not overcooked, the turkey was succulent and the roasties, mashed potatoes stuffing etc were all very tasty. It was a proper meal. The pudding consisted of either Christmas pudding or a chocolate type pudding. They were both moist and delicious. The food was piping hot. Overall we were highly satisfied with the food and price. Sent for lunch, good menu, service a little erratic. Didn't take debit card. So I had to wait whilst hubby went for cash. I requested a glass of cider, and was given a pint! Not brilliant but food adequate.

Whilst looking for somewhere to eat recently, we had the misfortune to walk into The Turks Head. Started looking at the menu but.......the smell of the toilets took your breath away! Needless to say, didn't stay. The staff were amazed when I commented. "Nobody else has mentioned it". Really? Not good enough in todays day and age!

Been here a few times whenever we come to Louth on a shopping trip it is our go-to place to eat. Extensive menu, fab prices, excellent service, clean clean toilets, and quality food. What more needs to be said.

Both my elderly Aunt and I had a beautiful lunch. My Aunt chose fish and chips and I had the cheese and ham platter, both were absolutely gorgeous. Excellent value and a very friendly waiter, nothing was any trouble . Will definitely be going again

the best breakfast in louth by far and the wife and myself have tried most of them great quality food at a reasonable price and friendly helpful staff in nice surroundings

We call in yesterday with our 2 golden retrievers and they were made very welcome. We would highly recommend their haddock and chips.. Staff very friendly.

Please do not expect the Ritz - it is NOT, but the food is good and well cooked. Reasonably priced and large helpings. Staff are attentive and extremely helpful, and willing to give visiting advise.

Called in for an impromptu lunch. I had the ham and cheese plate (ploughman’s really) and it was awesome. Home cooked ham which was delicious, really succulent and melted in the mouth. I was greedy and had a side of chips which were home made and on the money. OH had the gourmet burger with cheese and he loved it. Can’t fault the food, server couldn’t do enough for us, and the price we paid was excellent value for money. We will definitely return. Thank you!

My husband and I were in Louth and decides to have lunch at this bar/restaurant. I had Hunters Chicken, I don't like BBQ sauce so asked if it could be omitted, no problem, it was cooked to perfection with homemade chunky chips, my husband had homemade boiled ham,egg and hand cut chips, he loved it . We had lunch in the Turks head today, about 1 pm. My husband and I had the haddock chips and mushy peas. The food was excellent, and the was huge and very white and tasty. It's fresh every day from Grimsby docks. You can almost taste the sea. Will be going again

Lovely place to eat, very friendly service,very lovely freshly cooked food, no frozen crap. Wouldn't hesitate to eat there again.

Only the 2nd we've been but definitely not the last Julie's conservatory at the Turks head serves fresh food ,so easily adapted to your taste , really friendly Mum and daughter team . One of the best things is proper home made hand cut chips . Never under estimate the power of a great chip

Looks can be deceiving and this place was lovely. Came here for a meal with my partner, two young daughters and grandad after going to see the seals. Service was really good, everyone was really friendly, welcoming and helpful, the food was fabulous, freshly cooked on premises and tasted amazing (5 very satisfied customers) at a great price also.

Visited the Turks Head today for lunch. We had liver and bacon from the specials board with fresh vegetables (broccoli, carrots, swede and peas) and proper mash, and from the menu 1 x steak and ale pie and 2 x surf and turf (8 ox rump steak and scampi) with onion rings, mushrooms and peas - the meat pie was home made and delicious and the steaks were cooked to perfection and very succulent - this was followed by pancakes ice-cream and strawberries. All four meals were huge and excellent and it was lovely to be offered fresh strawberries with the dessert. The staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing too much trouble. The prices were very reasonable, remember to take cash as cards are not accepted. All in all a pleasant experience and one we will repeat next time we are in Louth.

A short notice booking for 8 people early on Saturday lunch en-route to Skegness. Good choice of tasty pub classics and healthy portions! All our party agreed it had been a good choice of stop-off. Friendly welcoming staff.

Great homemade food at a good price. Meat pie was a massive piece full of steak, nice veg and lovely chips. My wife also enjoyed her homemade quiche. Good quick service as well

Call in for lunch. Excellent food, all homemade. Hey husband had steak with Stilton sauce (the best he's ever had and would have it on his weetabix)!! I had mushroom and goats cheese crumble - wow and stunning comes nowhere close. I'm gonna try that at home. Staff very friendly, chef even came out and had a word. Prices very reasonable. The toilets are discraeful need a really good clean some of the staff not all but some are really rude

Visited the Turks Head on a random visit to Louth in Lincolnshire. We were greeted by the staff offered drinks and looked at the menu. Enough said the Lamb and mint pie had it! Hand cut chips and seasonal veg had to win with a gravy boat of flavoursome gravy , The pie didn’t need any more flavour ! it was clean plates . Well done to Julie superb food.

The food was home-made, fresh, tasty and well presented. The waitress was attentive and worked very hard as she was alone serving customers in the dining area

6 of us nipped in for a quick drink. Great service and just over £10 for us all so we definitely appreciated happy hour!

My husband and I visited with my elderly mum, who really wanted the lamb and mint pie but can only eat small portions.....apart from excellent service in every other way they also said they would do a 'small portion' of the pie for her. Had lunch today in The Turks Head Louth. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Atmosphere was good and the tables and seating areas very clean. Food was excellent. Ordered Hunters Chicken and Italian Chicken. Service was very quick. Will definitely eat here again. Would recommend people to eat here.

Visited here with my lady as it looked very inviting. When we got seated I realised it was a big mistake. Several flies around our table. Also loud hammering noise could be heard. Must of had the builders in. So had no choice but to walk out without sampling the food. Very disappointing experience.

We were looking for somewhere to eat in Louth and stopped here as it was a lovely day and we could sit outside. There was an extensive menu and inside there was a separate dining room . We chose meals from the light bite menu and we had scampi, quiche and ham and ploughmans . The meals were served very quickly and the portions of food were generous and very tasty .

Myself and 4 friends and grandma came here for lunch after realising that Louth's 'popular' restaurants do not open until 4pm.

Visited here 23rd May with my parents and dad was in his mobility scooter and the gent behind the bar was so lovely he opened up a disabled toilet for dad, this was exceptionally kind, the drinks and food are exceptional and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend stopping here for food and drinks and we will will be coming back again so see you soon x

Once again fabulous fresh cooked food proper home made chips and the freshest fish around all locally sourced the Chef was happy to tell us where it was from very friendly front of house very impressed .

Met up with up with a few friends from Louth today and they took me here. I had a few pints and a Sunday roast. The food was proper tasty, I couldn't fault it. The staff was nice and the atmosphere was also nice. Brilliant, will return again for sure next time I'm in or near Louth.

Can't fault the fish...as fresh as it comes and all fresh . The chips are home made and not the usual frozen chips you get with most other places... Will be back

Visited for the first time today with family and we all had a fantastic meal at a very reasonable price. Would recommend this place to everyone.

The food was outstanding! So delicious. But this was topped by the staff and their attitude. They were absolutely lovely. Everyone was friendly, polite and extremely accommodating and helpful. There was a group of 20 of us and none of us had a bad word to say. They ensured the little ones were fed first and sat us all together on one table. It was an amazing experience. I will be going again and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you The Turks Head, you made our day.

My wife and I visited the Turks Head in Louth for lunch. We were welcomed as we entered and seated. The staff were attentive and we had a choice of Beef, Gammon, Pork & Chicken. We chose the Chicken & Pork. Very reasonable priced.

Went with my wife and her sister for lunch. It was under new management from the last time we went. Julie greeted us on entering and showed us to our table. We then ordered a drink and looked over the menu, the selection was varied from lite bites to mains.

Popped in today for Sunday lunch as we were kid free and from start to finish the service was spot on from the guy behind the bar through to the waitress and her mum nothing was too much trouble waiting times were minimal and the beef roast was to die for and plentiful highly recommend to anyone will definitely be back.

Popped in here while visiting Louth last week

What a lovely lovely place. Service the second we walked in was fantastic, with the lady chef taking time to talk to my little boy and making us feel welcome instantly. The gentleman behind the bar fantastic too, even putting cartoons on for my restless 3 year old to calm him down without me even asking, such a lovely touch especially being made to feel welcome even with a noisy child! Food fantastic, portions huge and greatly priced! All home made and really fresh, not one thing I could fault. First time I’ve visited and will definitely be back :-) thank you!

Just had a meal here after coming here inbetween Christmas and new year. Food was lovely and plenty of it, absolutely stuffed.

After a good day out in the World's lunch was needed. The Turks Head is central has an welcoming air to it. The menu is well balanced and reasonably priced the service is quick but you are not rushed. Two had fish and chips with a choice of peas, our companions chose pasta and hunters chicken, there were good portions well cooked and most enjoyable,we will certainly go back.

My mum, my husband, my 6 year old and myself visited for the first time on Christmas eve we only went to the Turks Head because where we normally go was fully booked. We were all very impressed by the lovely staff, great food and reasonable prices we will certainly visit again.

From the moment we walked in we were made to feel so welcome. Good choice of ' pub grub' but the icing on the cake was the fresh fish and chips. Crunchy batter with melt in the mouth fish and home cooked chips with wonderful mushy peas and tartare sauce. Service was brilliant and helpful. Will be back with our dog, I can see this becoming a regular place to visit.

I won lunch for two on Sunday and me and my patrner both can honestly say it was 100% so if anyone wishes to have a meal the Turks is the best the chief is so friendly and the waitress and bar staff too so if your in town this is the place to be once again thank you so much for the lovely lunch

Very friendly chap who serves us with coffee would recommend the homemade chips. The food I hear during lunchtime is very good. The atmosphere is very relaxed during the weekdays a bit lively during evenings for the younger generation.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Turks head on the way to Lincoln from seeing the seals at Donna nook. The service was good and the staff were welcoming.The plates weren’t massive but they were stacked high and the food was very nice! The chef even asked if we wanted more Yorkshire puddings and brought some extras out on another plate.

Popped into Louth on the way back from viewing the seals at Donna Nook and were looking for somewhere to have lunch. The Turks head looked nice from the outside. Went inside and while it's a little dated, received a very friendly welcome. Both of us had sandwiches which came with what looked liked homemade chips that were delicious. Sandwich was excellent with lovely fresh bread and proper cheese and proper ham. Could not argue with food, value or the service.

Went to turks head for dinner an food was really good cooked beautifully staff was really friendly overall we would definitely come again
