Gemma and her Team made my Retirement Celebration with NottsHealthcare Nutrition and Dietetics Team extra special. Afternoon Teas where prepared beautifully, cakes were delicious and plenty to take home. The Tea Room has such a wonderful atmosphere and the Team is so attentive and friendly. š You are all gems!

The breakfast brioche, cake and coffee were all honestly outstanding. Freshly cooked food, not greasy at all and very tasty. The coffee is one of the best I've had! The atmosphere is very cosy and laid back and the toilets were very clean (and a great baby-changing facility is always welcome!)

My husband and I had a meal in The Vault earlier this year and it was a lovely meal. There was a lot of food on the plate and it was cooked very well. The staff are very friendly and you can have a good conversation with them. I would recommend having a meal in there at any time. The only thing now is I would have a breakfast but the doors are closed in the morning so I don't know if it is still open in the daytime.

In a high street dominated by chain cafe's and restaurants occasionally you find somewhere special. Luckily for us the usual suspects for a lunchtime coffee were all busy so we gave up and headed home, only to find this gem of a cafe. Small but spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, serving exceptional quality food and coffee at very reasonable prices. 2 full English breakfasts, we wasn't planning on these but saw another tables order and couldn't resist, 2 Cappuccinos and 2 cans of Coke, Ā£20. The service was top notch by a lovely chap who not only took the orders but cooked the food and made the coffees. Deffo calling again.

Visited here on a Tuesday as a last minute decision! Very accommodating as we were nearer the end of service! Starter was very nice, mushrooms on toast. Bread tasted very much like shortbread but the mushrooms in sauce were delicious. Main was chicken chasseur, absolutely delicious! Chicken was very tender it fell off the bone and the gravy was full of flavour. The mash potato was perfect and the veg was cooked to perfection! The chocolate tarte was very tasty. Overall the service was very good, staff were still a little nervous as they were new to the role but very polite. Very reasonably priced and we will definitely be returning.

I havenāt been here for at least 30 years, the atmosphere was ok, but the meal was very average, and overpriced, the vegetables were very bland and unimaginative. As other people have commented, It felt like an old peopleās home, in an 80ās time warp!

Went here for some lunch, not been to Mansfield before walked past Lucyās and it looked nice so wondered in. Felt a bit empty and dreary but went to sit down the only 4 seater table had a reserved sign on it and the rest were 2 seaters (there was 3 of us). Turned around and the waitress said we can sit there regardless of the reserved sign. Firstly noticed the tables were VERY sticky and another couple in the cafe commented on this as in unappealing. No menus on the table all the food was on some chalk boards on the wall, not a lot of food options at all. As soon as we sat down the waitress awkwardly asked to take our order even though we hadnāt even looked at menus yet. We quickly ordered, was disappointed to find out they offer no alternative milk so my friend with a dairy allergy couldnāt have any hot drinks. Ordered a jacket potato with chilli and cheese, there was barely any cheese on it so I asked for some more politely to which I got told by the waitress the boss has said I need to pay 85p extra for cheese and that they did put some on but itās just melted so you canāt see it. I challenged her as there was barely any cheese on it to start with, but she didnāt say anything and the whole conversation was very uncomfortable so I just said never mind. After this the waitress went straight into the back clearly to tell the boss what I said and then the boss the waitress and another guy all came and stood behind the bar and basically was side eyeing me throughout the rest of my meal. The whole experience was very uncomfortable and to top it off there were bits floating in my coffee (not very clear pic attached) tried to stir them to get them to dissolve but more jest kept appearing so didnāt finish it. As I was paying I just felt like I was being stared at and judged all for asking for a bit more cheese. Under no circumstances will me or my friends return here again.

Portland College has a lovely coffee shop, there is a great selection of sandwiches, cakes, drinks, sausage rolls etc. Staff are very friendly and dogs are more than welcome with drinking water and dog treats available! The woodland walk is beautiful and if youāre lucky enough you may even get to see the therapy Donkeys that they have on site!
