Portland College has a lovely coffee shop, there is a great selection of sandwiches, cakes, drinks, sausage rolls etc. Staff are very friendly and dogs are more than welcome with drinking water and dog treats available! The woodland walk is beautiful and if you’re lucky enough you may even get to see the therapy Donkeys that they have on site!

This is a good place to stop for coffee and cakes just off the A60 between Mansfield and Ravenshead.

I was bought a cream tea for my birthday. When we arrived the table was still being set up by two of the girls from the college. It was set up lovely, we had china crockery. The sandwiches, the cake & the scones were all delicious .Photos were taken by the staff as the two girls were completing some thing to do with catering. They came and asked us if every thing was ok & did we need any more tea. Nothing was to much trouble. I would recommend any one thinking of buying a cream tea to try Portland College coffee shop

We popped in to Portlaand coffee shop and sat with a drink to watch the wild life out of the window.I dont know if the people who are in the coffee shop are volunteers or are paid but some times the service is great other times not so good. But its some where to sit and just loose your self.

This is a good place to stop for coffee, in nice woodland just off the main road between Mansfield and Nottingham. Inexpensive, with profits going to help the disabled.

Good inexpensive food and coffee. Spoiled by the lack of attention and upkeep of the outside area. We often stop here for coffee when walking our dog and sit outside. Unfortunately, the tables are never wiped down, the area never swept and the dog water bowls are filthy. It wouldn't take much to attend to these issues and would have a great impact on the experience.

Never knew this place existed until today but happy to have found it. Nice little park for the kid's. Outside eating area, food was nice and affordable. Could see squirrels being fed through feeders in the cafe which was lovely for my daughter to watch. Only reason for taking 1 star away is there was a wasp problem we were warned about but tbh they were on top of it and we weren't bothered by any. Would go again

I stupidly forgot my lunch and being on a diet was worried about what I could have to eat. No fear, I had the Fab Friday lunch, which is SW friendly. A lovely pasta lasagne with fresh crunch salad and a dash of balsamic vinegar. Very reasonable price and a good size portion!

Visited for a breakfast meeting and had the fortune to be offered a sw inspired full breakfast. This was fantastic, fresh mushrooms, beans, bacon, sausages and scrambled egg with toast. Great service, great value. The area now has free wi-fi access too which meant I could keep up to date with emails.

My son attended Portland College for 3 years. We visited the coffee shop many times then - and make a point of doing so each time we come back with him for reunions. Love the semi-wooded setting which is ideal for dog-walkers and families. It didn't disappoint this time either. Glad the nursery has been replaced by something positive like a play area. Home-made cakes well up to standard as were the coffee and sandwiches. Other merchandise seems to vary slightly each time we visit. This time it was good to see crafts made by the students on sale too. Picked up some lovely birthday cards at very reasonable prices.

Lovely place in the heart of Harlow Woods. This college is for students with disabilities. The restaurant serves delicious food at very reasonable prices, and the usual drinks from a machine or from bottles in the fridge. Enjoy watching the many different species of wild birds on the feeders outside the windows of the restaurant!

We popped in for a quick snack and a warm through when house hunting in the area. Lovely staff, freshly prepared food to our different requirements. It is a portacabin so don't expect swish, but it was very clean and certainly fulfilled our needs. If you want a nice place to walk your dog with free parking and something nice to eat then please visit. They even have a Slimming World inspired menu on a Friday! And very good value. I even managed to pick up a couple of Christmas presents from their gift shop which had some lovely soaps, handmade goodies and original artwork.

I come here often with my baby. We have enjoyed coffee and light lunches, and I've also sampled the cakes. Lovely cafe food and a warm clean environment. They also have a good, large enclosed play area, great for kids to let off some steam. If the play area is not open, just ask and they will open it for you. Good cafe grub with good portion sizes and prices.

Passing the college on 1st November and noticed sign for Cafe,so stopped off for coffee. What a surprise the cafe was so inviting with comfortable seating and staff were friendly. What was even better the cafe is naturally 200% disabled friendly with a small gift shop and all profit helps to support the work of the college. There is also a large outdoor play area for the children and good seating outside for dogs to look after their human companion's.Will always call try to call in whilst passing.

Open to the general public 7 days a week, providing tea, coffee, cold drinks and light refreshments all year round, only closing over Christmas. The Coffee & Gift Shop is a popular meeting place for locals, dog walkers and cyclists because of the fantastic facilities including free car parking. On offer is homemade cakes, pastries, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, breakfast muffins and the popular daily specials menu. As well as Portland staff the Coffee & Gift Shop is a training area for students and is also manned by fabulous volunteers. Any money made in the Coffee and Gift Shop goes back into the College for the benefit of students. The menu at this cafe is quite extensive for a small establishment - they do welcome walkers garden centre customers and local disabled college students - unfortunately at the time of our visit the coffee machine (self service) was not working - but staff offered assistance and provided alternative service. I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw and my wife had a cheese and tomato toastie - The total cost of our lunch was about £9 and this included a pot of tea for two (together with as many refills as we wished) The counter assistant was very polite and had a genuine smile that made me feel that our custom was appreciated When the meals arrived I was fully impressed with the presentation of even my simple meal the fillings and salad was substantial - well presented with drizzled on caramelized vinaigrette dressing - probably one of the best presented jacket potatoes I have ever enjoyed The meals tasted as good as they were presented and wwere well enjoyed by both of us Considering the low price that we paid for our lunch - very impressive indeed I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to friends and family - and I am looking forward to further lunches there whilst out walking in the area

Went here for some lunch, not been to Mansfield before walked past Lucy’s and it looked nice so wondered in. Felt a bit empty and dreary but went to sit down the only 4 seater table had a reserved sign on it and the rest were 2 seaters (there was 3 of us). Turned around and the waitress said we can sit there regardless of the reserved sign. Firstly noticed the tables were VERY sticky and another couple in the cafe commented on this as in unappealing. No menus on the table all the food was on some chalk boards on the wall, not a lot of food options at all. As soon as we sat down the waitress awkwardly asked to take our order even though we hadn’t even looked at menus yet. We quickly ordered, was disappointed to find out they offer no alternative milk so my friend with a dairy allergy couldn’t have any hot drinks. Ordered a jacket potato with chilli and cheese, there was barely any cheese on it so I asked for some more politely to which I got told by the waitress the boss has said I need to pay 85p extra for cheese and that they did put some on but it’s just melted so you can’t see it. I challenged her as there was barely any cheese on it to start with, but she didn’t say anything and the whole conversation was very uncomfortable so I just said never mind. After this the waitress went straight into the back clearly to tell the boss what I said and then the boss the waitress and another guy all came and stood behind the bar and basically was side eyeing me throughout the rest of my meal. The whole experience was very uncomfortable and to top it off there were bits floating in my coffee (not very clear pic attached) tried to stir them to get them to dissolve but more jest kept appearing so didn’t finish it. As I was paying I just felt like I was being stared at and judged all for asking for a bit more cheese. Under no circumstances will me or my friends return here again.

We visited with friends and had the most wonderful meals that tasted great, chips were beautiful! We waited longer than your average chain pub food but understandable when our food arrived all piping hot fresh and delicious! Always been a fan of the food here and would highly recommended Keep up the good work

It was very quiet. Maybe 12 customers, but maybe that was due to it being a Sunday night.
