A friendly, family run local pub with great fresh food. We went for dinner to watch live music afterwards. I had the home made fish and chips which were excellent. My partner had a mixed grill which was huge! Can highly recommend the pub for meals and also for live entertainment. Good range of drinks at reasonable prices too!

6 of us went for a 5pm booking.Nice cosy corner, lady asked if we wanted drinks and time for a natter before we ordered.Food came as ordered, piping hot and delicious, wasn't having a dessert, but having seen the board,3 of us succumbed. All very reasonable priced, will definitely be back.

Fantastic home cooked Sunday dinner. Trio of meats and veg plus crackling cooked to perfection. Gravy was a delight as well

Local pub that deserves a good review for Sunday lunch offerings. It was simple to reserve a table via Facebook messenger, & although the car parking area is small we found a spot. The staff were welcoming & service was efficient. Best of all the meals were excellent! £10.45 for a 2 course meal (roast meat choices-beef, gammon or pork & 1 of us had the vegetarian tart, followed by fruit crumble & custard/red velvet cheesecake & cream/warm choc brownie & cream) well cooked & presented. Nothing to not like, a new local treasure!

Heard a few good reports from local people about the jug and glass Mansfield woodhouse Sunday carvery. I was a bit optimistic when I heard it was only £4:99. These days you get what you pay for so hay ho I went to try it out 🤔, Omg I can’t believe how much I enjoyed xxx 4 meats to choose from and fresh vegetables. Complimented with nice roast pots and roast turnips. Good flavoured gravy to finish it off xx I will definitely be back here again xx

Popped in here for a couple of drinks during a tour round the village pubs and was made welcome by the bar staff, drinks where a decent price and they had a disco on. Place needs doing up but was clean enough. Decent local pub!

Whilst the food was cooked well it wasn't anything special but the service was great and the restaurant was clean and comfortable.

Portland College has a lovely coffee shop, there is a great selection of sandwiches, cakes, drinks, sausage rolls etc. Staff are very friendly and dogs are more than welcome with drinking water and dog treats available! The woodland walk is beautiful and if you’re lucky enough you may even get to see the therapy Donkeys that they have on site!
