The best restaurants serving British food in Harborough East Midlands

What a great find! We celebrated a birthday here this past weekend and cannot recommend visiting yourself. The food, service and venue were exceptional. When we booked they knew we were celebrating a birthday and put balloons and a banner above our table especially and even provided a complimentary cake at the end. We will definitely be returning

We are not local to the area however every 2weeks we have a 2hour window whilst waiting for our Grandaughter who goes to a pony club meeting.The Ashby Arms is a lovely clean well established pub, food is excellent and reasonably priced. However the greeting tonight left a lot to be desired, we were the first diners to be seated , followed eventually by 2 other tables, but were slightly disappointed to be the last of the 3 to be served , which won't stop us coming back but made us feel very unwelcome. 😔

Great food and service. The Sunday roast dinner was lush, followed by custard and crumble 😍the staff were also very friendly and very welcoming, and I would definitely return 😀 thank you, Karen and Di 😊

I held my birthday party here and can honestly say right from the initial booking, the staff were incredible. They couldn’t do enough to make sure my evening was what I wanted. The buffet they provided received great reviews from all my guests. Overall the establishment is 5/5, great space if you are considering a private function and great location. Thankyou Enigma team you did a cracking job.

We ordered the beef filled yorkshire pudding, the beef was so over cooked. The whole meal was very bland. The pub is in a beautiful location but had an unpleasant smell when you arrived.

First time we have visited and was really impressed. We booked Valentines menu, everything was great , food , service, drinks and the atmosphere. Will be back to have a steak in the near future!!

Food was very good, but the service was quite slow had to ask several times where our order was.

Went today after visiting Foxton Locks for food and know Weatherspoons is always a great place for value. Arrived about 17:30 and was really busy. Managed to find a seat but had to clear tables of empty glasses as staff looked super busy. No problem. Vast menu with something for everyone and great prices. Ordered and meals came out super quick and piping hot. Had the cod and chips which was lovely fish and no bones, could rival a chippy! My parented has the chicken basket and this also was a great sized portion. For £19.95 for two meals with unlimited tea or coffee or I think one soft drink, it’s brilliant when we are all watching the pennies. Fanstastic place and will be returning. Oh offer on for Valentines night - 2 meals, 2 deserts, 2 drinks for £25! What’s not to love. Add a fiver onto that and a bottle of Prosecco.

Unfortunately, I cannot review the food, as after waiting over 30 minutes for someone to come and serve me, I decided to give up and go elsewhere. The restaurant was not busy at all being a Wednesday night (at most 10 tables, with most having one person dining from individuals staying at the hotel). However, I was obviously not a priority and it was more important for the staff to stand behind the bar laughing and joking with the locals, rather than serve customers!! Its fair to say I will not coming back!!

Visited on a weekday at 12 noon. Two people sitting in the window. My order was taken by an unsmiling, scruffily dressed girl who didn’t greet me, smile or say Thankyou when she took my order and payment . I would have ordered some cake but what was on display looked dire and unappealing. I waited over 15 mins for a cup coffee which was slammed down on the table! The cup wasn’t full and not very nice and together with the too loud jazz music playing in the background was not an experience I will be repeating. Strays is in a prime position in the square and should be a thriving business. This place needs an overhaul, a manager, and good staff to re- invent it to its full potential.
