Great place to Eat and brilliant value for money

Enjoyed our visit, food (buffet carvery) was nice and good value, the staff friendly and efficient.

Our friends from abroad booked a table here for the carvery meal, what a disappointment, the food was luke warm, the Yorkshire pudding was extremely chewy, I felt we could have presented a better roast dinner at home ourselves. This is not our first disappointment at the Elms.

Fabulous 1st encounter with The Elms. Scott greeted me and Karis on the bar was lovely. I was the 1st at the carvery station! And the quality was absolutely amazing. And the gravey absolutely devine! Absolutely worth the money. Definitely will be returning

Visited the elms today. Everything was great, arrived with a warm welcome from Kelsey, who was very friendly and polite, serving us during our experience.

Had a lunch time carvery as part of a business meeting, met all criteria for a good place to meet and eat.

Served straight away easily seated food is good. Only complaint at a push would be it gets uncomfortably hot temperature wise in the restaurant. Ewan is always polite, friendly and helpful

Visited here as we had not been in a while. Carvey was poor, black inedible roast potatoes, hard and tasteless veg. Not what I would call value for money. Sticky tables, drunk and swearing customers put near children and families.

Scran was lush, drinks thirst quenching and lass Emma not to bad either 😜

This place had a strange atmosphere. The food was okay, but it's hard to find other positives. We had to wait 10-15 minutes every time we wanted a drink, and the staff seemed in no hurry. Oddly enough, they were all wearing Christmas hats, and Christmas music was playing—despite it being September. Even some of the staff remarked how strange it was to be asked to dress up like that. Overall, it was a bizarre experience, and we won’t be coming back.

Friendly welcome but pub looking like it needs a bit of TLC chairs looking tatty tables chipped and not particularly clean as very sticky with menus plates etc sticking to table Food from Carvery was good choice but not hot ideally need heat lamps turned up whilst gravy was scalding hot as I found out by burning my thumb Overall we were happy

Perhaps not really busy enough for a carvery on a saturday but the food was good and they had an area for the dog inside where he wouldn't be a bother.

Visited on a weekday lunchtime. Had a voucher through the door for 30% off mains. Had 2 carvery and Hunters chicken and lasagna. Beer was well kept Pedigree. Didn't have to wait long for our food, carvery was OK but choice of meats was 2 only, turkey and ham, I didn't want ham and portion was not very generous, 2 thin slices of turkey! The other meals were OK. Bill was £47 with discount and included 2 coffees and 2 pints.

Had one of the burgers, OMG never tasted anything like it. Absolutely beautiful!!! We will deffo be back to have it again!!!

Simple ordering on the app, friendly staff, food arrived quickly and was well presented. Food was tasty and hot. I particularly enjoyed my cowboy burger. Only downside was starter arrived before drinks.

My mates and I stopped here and had a ball! The food was great and the service was outstanding, especially the manager (Eleanor I think?) who went above and beyond. She was so warm and friendly, making sure we were taken care of, definitely recommending Elms to my mates!

Been before and it was decent, came this time with a booking for 12 nobody there to greet ended up waiting at the bar to be taken to a filthy table to stand waiting for someone to come and clean it. Done a multi order so food could come at the same time two meals just didn't arrive at all after complaining and being told they'd check everyone else finished by the time the kids meal and the mixed grill actually made it out. Absolute joke of a service...

A very busy place with basic gastro pub food. Comfortable seating. Vegan options not great.

It was OK. But, I don't think we'll be back again. A few things to note: You can't order at your table if you have any allergies or intolerances, the web page just says you have to speak to a manager. In most corners there are speakers playing music, which in my opinion is just higher volume than is comfortable to have a conversation. The tills seem temperamental meaning it took 4 attempts and two tills needed to pay. The meat and veggie carvery was good. When ordering a burger, a completely wrong burger was brought to the table. A steak with "lighter option" came without rice or quinoa as it was meant to. This arrived separately after I pointed it out, and was about a desert spoon's worth. When ordering dessert, they couldn't make up their mind if things were out of stock or not. It was a Sunday and they were obviously busy. But, the place itself feels very tired and in need of modernisation and a good clean, and it feels like attention to detail isn't their forte. I hope somehow it gets a bit of a kick up the backside and shapes itself up - because it has potential, but, seems to be falling on hard times.

as always it was a pleasure the staff are always pleasant with everyone 6y old grandson and ancient grandparents are made to feel special. the was good as expected and the value is super after a very stressful few days it was a treat and we relaxed

No atmosphere, food was low quality eg roast potatoes burnt Yorkshire pudding are over cooked

I have never been here before and certainly don’t think I will be back, grandparents wanted to treat me and my sister, but we both thought it was horrible, the toilets were very unhygienic, the table was sticky the food was all burnt, and staff were nowhere to be found

Not bad, but food could be better. My wife ordered the kebab and fries, it said a garnish of onions, as you can see on the picture it was closer to a small onion. Also the French fries were hard and un eatable. I had mac n cheese with piri piri chicken, no spice to it just covered in bbq sauce. Felt very disappointed.

Visited today with four deaf people one of was gluten and dairy intolerant, the staff were really helpful and very friendly . Thank you so much for all your help

50th wedding anniversary get together

It was great, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the food was great. It's always nice finding somewhere that we can bring our dog with us too (by the way, he loves your sausages!)

I have been coming here for a few years as it is a good place to meet up with Family. The Cravery is very good & staff are friendly but the pub needs a refresh as beginning to slowly decline.

We like to go for the carvery, and as usual it was great. The meat is always cooked well and the veg was fresh and plentiful. Always nice to be served by Eleanor as she always checks we are happy with our meal.

We often used to stop off at the Elms around 5 years ago when we traveled that way and we were always very satisfied ,we were in the area again this week and we decided to call in again for lunch from the pubs cavery . Well what a mistake it’s not run the same anymore. Firstly we stood at least 5 minutes waiting for someone to serve us , the 3 meats looked okay but the rest what a disappointment the Yorkshire puddings was completely flat and all the veg was dried up or some parts even burnt. The loo’s the men’s had a terrible smell and my wife said the ladies 3 toilets 1 had a cracked seat the second seat was taped together with parcel tape and the third was okay.

Eleanor was amazing tonight - she was welcoming , accommodating and looked after us who arrived after a long journey from Manchester. She made sure we were fed and had everything we needed to make our visit to The Elms very enjoyable 😀

Waited for over half an hour for medium steak that came out rare, sent it back, came out rare again, couldn't get knife through it. Waited a good 10 minutes to make a complaint, got a refund but left with an empty tummy. Worse dining experience I have ever had

First time we had the cavery. It wasn’t great. This time I had hunters chicken. Again while perfectly edible Wasn’t great. Chicken cooked . Cheese sprinkled over the top . Crispy bacon placed on top and a small amount of sauce. We use this restaurant as it’s convenient to collect and drop off our grandon from. So will try something different from the menu. Typical pub chain food . Edible but no finesse.

The carvery was great . The other meal was slow but good when it came. It was very busy.

Nice pub, friendly staff. Food ok, lunch meals are quite small although fine for me, as I'm not a big eater, however, some may find them too small. Took me having to ask for my dessert, 30 mins after I finished my main and then it took another 10 minutes to get a simple ice cream. The carvery looks nice but largely unattended, lot of people standing waiting and needed bar staff to call out to others to help (Maybe a bell to indicate help needed?). Toilets were not nice ! Smelt terrible of pee. Was very unpleasant. All in all 4/5 I think is fair.

Dreadful service 😪 food cold , carvery food tasteless gravy pots empty. Signage nonexistent regarding veggie options ... Noone gave a damn.... As an addition to the above review ....nearly one year later we returned hoping things had improved. 10/08/24 They hadn't.....the customer service was so poor during and after we finished our starters nobody checked table ... I had to clear the plates my self . After 5 minutes I went to obtain my carvery, returning to find my dinner companions being told that their meals would take a further 15 minutes as Annabell , our server , didn't know we had finished the starters . My food was going cold but no suggestions were made to remedy the problem.... Disgraceful lack of care , work ethic or customer service. We paid £60 to be treated like dirt . Please put this money towards customer service training . Do not issue a credit note or money off vouchers as I have no intention of using them .

Met up with friends for lunch but was told there's no bread for club sandwiches. I had potato & leek soup but no granary rolls. Don't understand why a big place like this has no bread, it's a basic thing maybe should have crossed the road and bought some from Aldi!

We booked in for 3 adults and 3 dogs of varying sizes. The staff were super accomodating and kept our dogs well supplied with fresh water and the treats on the bar were a nice touch. There was no carvery available however the menu included a wide range of other options and we all enjoyed our chosen meals. If I were in the area again, I'd definitely consider returning.

The staff were welcoming and friendly, the booking was recognised. The restaurant was clean and well presented. The food was well cooked and good portion sizes, The carvery was lovely with a good choice of vegetables and meats. Drinks were served promptly. Will definately come again

Mediocre chain pub, nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about, except the staff....I dealt with a young lady called Eleanor. She was polite, professional, friendly and professional. I have mobility needs and Eleanor couldn't do any more to help to ensure I was comfortable and happy on my visit. Well done Eleanor

On the way to Middleton Stoney we needed a place to charge our car and this place had an abundance of charge points. To our surprise we came across this place, it is clean and had a great menu. Carvery available although the meat looked very dry, we didn't eat from carvery so can't comment on it, all plates cleared so food must have been great. Aesthetics of the place looked great and noticed a lot of families meeting up so must be a great family orientated place for locals. Would visit again if I the area.

Went with family and had a lovely carvery, great choice of freshly cooked veg and 3 meats to choose from. It was very busy, and perhaps they could do with a few more staff to take the load off the ones there, but the manager was on the ball. She checked with us at various points that everything was ok without being intrusive.

Brought my mum.for Sunday carvery on 21st July and it was dreadful. The food was soggy, warm and tactless. The young guy serving was utterly miserable and could not have cut our meat any thinner !! It was awful. The food tasted oily and potatoes were warm and soggy. On our exit, we noticed a fair amount of food was left on tables. Very disappointed. Won't be back.

Person who served me put in the wrong order when I spoke to a member of staff about my order she was rude, unhelpful and seemed to want to walk away. No one checked to see how if everything was okay while we was eating there was multiple people complaining and staff didn’t seem to want to want to help and the person who was running the shift didn’t seem to know what he was doing the other staff was just hinding on there phones. Cleaning chemicals had been left around unsupervised what is braking coshh protocols staff on this shift clearly need further training

Used to come a lot as my daughter iovss it there, but something changed and the quality dropped. We gave it a break, but tried again this week. Very little meat by the time you had removed all the fat, beef was hard work to eat. Yorkshire pudding which I love had been in a dehydration machine, they were beyond dry. No greater at the door, so lots of people like us stood by the door for ages. Really disappointed to see the amount of people just walking out.

Bang average. Came specifically for the carvery and there seemed to be a lot less selection than normal and my favourite item (dauphinois potatoes) not available. Yorkshire puddings hard and almost inedible without covering with gravy. Cauliflower cheese undercooked. Very rubbish selection of vegetables, not a lot of freshness. Only one person on bar to take orders even though a queue of 5 or 6 people. A very slow person too. Took my payment for all items I’d ordered then tried to say I hadn’t paid for one of the drinks (she’d forgotten what I’d ordered so had to look back at receipts but because she had such a mess of stuff around the till she was looking at the wrong receipt)

Ordered 4 adult carvery and 2 pints of very cloudy Pedigree and 2 ciders at just over £70 not bad value. Food was excellent and despite the limited veg choices compared to other carvery pubs there was plenty. We chose the Elms via a recommendation from friends and glad we did. The bar staff were very friendly and the chefs looked clean and tidy and best of all the food was hot, tasty and the beef and turkey really nice but the gammon was very salty. Overall well worth the trip from Ratby to Lutterworth.

I visited you on the afternoon of Friday 28th. I was absolutely shocked and disgusted with the waitress/barmaid on shift! I have seen her in there many times before and she isn’t the most friendly or welcoming but her behaviour on this occasion was completely unacceptable! She clearly doesn’t enjoy her job or have any respect for the customers. An elderly lady had just filled her plate at the carvery and was struggling to carry her plate while using her walking stick. The waitress/barmaid walked by so the elderly lady asked if she would help her carry the plate to her table. The waitress/barmaid just scowled at the lady, huffed then snatched the plate and carried it to the table whilst rolling her eyes and huffing the whole time. The poor lady must have felt so awful about asking for help. This is completely disgraceful and unacceptable behaviour from someone who works in hospitality and I for one will not return!

Tables were filthy. Toilets were filthy. Food was mostly good but not hot enough. Server was great cheerful and friendly . Manager was rude and sour faced with an awful attitude when the girl behind the bar asked him for some help. Won't be back again ok

On the whole poor eating experience for the charges,even with 30% voucher off mains. 6.30 booking, 7pm by the time we were called to carvery. Plates were hot ,just as well as everything except gravy on carvery was luke warm. No chips !!! on other 2 meals. Only fries!!!. Not quite the same when you're looking forward to Fish and chips. Smothered chicken came without it's onion rings. By the time he'd realised and we mentioned it to the waitress they never did appear. They were asked if onion rings were required at ordering too. Never mind put it down to the 30% they were offering to get you in there.😟😟.😟😟

My wife has great difficulty walking, we were given a table close to the carvery. A you waitress familiar or Emily, saw my wife was struggling and took her plate at accompanied her at the carvery abd back to our seat. I noticed throughout our time there she was always scanning around her seeing what needed to be done, she never stopped. Also made sure we had everything we needed. We'll done young lady.
