Had an absolutely beautiful meal in this lovely pub. The staff are wonderful so friendly. It’s very small but cosy and welcoming. Just perfect!! Thankyou

We were 2 couples having dinner at at The Anchor and it was absolutely delicious. We all had different starters and mains and non of the food disappointed us. We've been here several times now over the years (we live in Nottingham). The portions are huge too, so even Dodger (the dog) enjoyed the extra beef and chicken. Arrived around 10:45 am on 10/11/24 only to be informed that there was no hot food being served until 11:15 due to a take away order. Others in front of us left and we reluctantly ordered two coffees, a flapjack and a Pork Pie instead of the full cooked breakfasts we’d hoped for. We were charged twice for the Pork Pie, which we pointed out and were subsequently refunded for. We sat at a table that had the previous occupants breakfast plate on it (which was never cleared, considering the waiting on staff weren’t serving any food at the time) and waited for our coffee which did not arrive. We fetched it ourselves from the counter, at which point around 11:05, they started taking breakfast orders again. The place seemed poorly managed and why you’d turn away valued customers for a take away order is beyond me.

Good food, service, and play aera. We would recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Disappointed Sunday dinner today and it’s usually so good. It looked amazing. The roast pork was tough, the beef good. My roast potatoes were hard to cut up, they were too overdone. The vegetables were odd too, no red cabbage but over cooked ordinary cabbage, two sugar snap peas, one carrot and one bit of swede . There was one floret of cauliflower cheese and mine was stone cold. Everything else was lukewarm and topped with dressed rocket. I would have commented but wasn’t asked how the meal was. Hopefully it was just a one off as it’s a lovely pub and the staff have been great in the past.

Beautifully decorated with blazing log fires and a welcome to match, this pub is probably the best in the area. Great menu at realistic prices and unsurpassed quality and presentation - what’s not to like. We could not fault anything - thanks to all the staff for a wonderful evening.

lovely pub, we called for lunch, the prawn baguette was amazing and nice pint of farmers blonde, nice roaring fire too. Not too busy so quick service

This pub was really good the food was beautiful, and the staff especially shaz was perfect really helpful and polite, my wife and I took some American fiends with us and they loved the food and the hospitality , Can’t wait for our next visit / Paul & Dawn

We was on a 3 day walking stopping off at campsits on the way. This looked the perfect place to stop for food and drinks. Walked in and 4 other customers told me knowbody was here. I waited about 20 minutes shouting behind the bar. Walk around the back of the place to the back door knowbody there ever. I eventually left with 8 others customers empty handed. I've had bad service before now but NO service at all is shocking. We walked all day with intentions of eating here and camping just around the corner. Also noted card only no cash. Its time to WAKE UP. Also based of your own posts. The Covid virus is an agenda to stop from running your own businesses and force you in to a cashless society taking total control of everybody. There is no virus .
