The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

Had ultimate burger with chips. Milkshake. Tea and can drink. Burger bland. Beef patty poor. After 15 minutes waiting was told didn't have the flavour shake ordered so chose another our food had already arrived. The shake took another 15 minutes which then meant we at to leave as needed to get to work. Couldn't drink the milkshake at all as flavour was way too strong coco powder taste. Overall disappointing and a waste of money. Quite busy one young girl serving and making all drinks so no wonder wait was over 30minutes for one milkshake!

One of the best if not the best place in the city to enjoy a spot of lunch in a very relaxed atmosphere with excellent service from the staff.

We’ve eaten here a few times now, mainly with our two young granddaughters. The service has always been extremely friendly and the food lovely. Good varied menu. They always went the extra mile to make us feel welcome, especially towards the girls. Very highly recommended, we shall definitely return

Proper jackets, nice staff, great portions - perfect. We used to get jackets from this place around 30 years ago, and they’re still as good as I remember them! 🥔🧀

Lovely food, lovely staff- my son asks to come here every Saturday for his cheese toastie and chocolate milkshake

Great home cooked food- burgers were top quality. Really friendly owners who took time to chat. Relaxed atmosphere. We will be back!

We organised a wake for my Father at Hinckley Golf club. Michelle and the team made it really easy to plan. The location was fantastic with ample parking and the space was really well equipped for the event. The food was plentiful and tasty and all in all - I would highly recommend this venue.

5 of us just had fabulous Sunday lunch. Selection and generosity of vegetables amazing. We all wanted a dessert but just didn’t have room! Next Sunday going with 2nd grandson, going to have a smaller main course so I can have pud. Very friendly hosts and conscientious waitress. 🫶🏻🫶🏻

My wife and I visited the Club for Sunday Lunch on 06th June 2021. We were very impressed with the hearty welcome of the staff and the way we were treated in general. After reviewing the comprehensive Luncheon Menu I had the traditional Roast Beef and Y/Pudding and my wife had the Steak and Ale Pie. The meals were very good and presented as well as any first class Restaurant. All the ingredients were cooked perfectly to our liking. The drinks we ordered were very reasonably priced,as was the menu meals and deserts. will be visiting again for sure very soon. We were so full and satisfied we could not handle dessert. Qué experiencia tan fabulosa. Pasamos más de dos horas y media haciendo barras de chocolate, degustando numerosos tipos de chocolate y luego bebiendo el chocolate caliente más delicioso con crema fresca, malvaviscos y una pequeña barra de chocolate, solo para complementarlo. Jerome es tan conocedor y entusiasta del chocolate. Vaya día, bien puedo recomendar este dulce de chocolate.

I live locally and when I last visited for a meal the food was excellent. Sadly however the Royal Oak pub is now closed and is being offered for sale. The good news is that it is under offer, so if a sale is agreed we may see it reopen, fingers crossed😀

Under new management - Excellent food, value for money, spotlessly clean, friendly staff. Will definitely return - highly recommended.

Very disappointed ,,, ended up ordering cream tea for me ,,,, small cheap scone ,,,, obviously heated yes hot scone ,,, with cream and jam ,,,,, was presented to me strate away , ,,,, my companion had ordered a meal ,, which came after I had eaten my scone ,,, and then finally the tea came ,,,, waitress was unable to smile ,,,
