I genuinely can’t believe the visit today. Thought as it’s a rainy day would be nice to head out for lunch. We arrived and no customers were in the restaurant and quickly the 2 staff made it clear we were not welcome, saying from a chair I could do you some food but then long wait, no offer of a menu and comments like we should be closed and later, once these people leave I’ll ring X and we’ll close. 1) if you are open be polite to your customers or ring your boss and close but don’t relay your unhappiness to people who are spending hard earned money in the restaurant. Then the food was not good (probably should have thought this may happen).dry over done club sandwiches that neither my wife or I could eat. Awful experience regarding service and food standard. Its the worst lunch I’ve had and should be refunded and apologised to for being made to feel uncomfortable and an inconvenience.

Had not been to the golf club for Sunday lunch since before Covid but thought we'd give it a try as I was really impressed with 'the spread' at a recent function. We were not disappointed, it was the best Sunday lunch in a long time, back to how it used to be a few years ago. Even though there was a minor electrical problem on our arrival it was quickly sorted. The meal was freshly cooked and hot with a great selection of vegetables. The meat choice was turkey, beef or pork, including crispy crackling, which were done to perfection. The service was excellent as was the value for money. We booked again before we left, this time with more of the family. Highly recommend that you give it a try.

Visited Parklands restaurant at Hinckley golf club for Sunday lunch yesterday with my other half and some family. The dinner was absolutely fantastic and so was the service. Can Honestly say it’s one of the most enjoyable roasts I’ve had in a long time. Fresh, tasty and lots of it!!! Well done to the kitchen and service staff.

Have just been for Sunday lunch after hearing the food had improved! Disappointed! Beef wasn’t great, turkey was OK but not great, roast potatoes not as good as home made, and the only accompaniments were cranberry sauce or horseradish- no stuffing, bread sauce etc. The Yorkshire puddings were huge but not that great. The veg- french beans-OK, carrots- OK , Cauliflower would have been better in cheese sauce. The desserts, of which there were 3 to choose from, were OK but the custard with the sticky toffee pudding was only luke warm. All in all, will not be returning again.

Wanted to spend some time with Mum so booked afternoon tea here. What a disappointment! The sandwiches were very dry, I would even say stale. The cakes were not very appetising either. We mentioned it to the waitress who apologised and said they were freshly made that morning, - our tea was at 14.30. There was no offer of replacement. We were very disappointed for £11.50 each. The room was lovely overlooking the golf course but we would not return,

Food was okay nothing startling but everyone seemed to enjoy it, would recommend this venue as a lovely place to play golf.

We went here on Saturday May 26th for our friend's daughters wedding. What a great place for a wedding! The ceremony was lovely, bride and groom looked great and there were lots of smiling faces. After the wedding, we had a three course lunch, with leek and potato soup, prawn cocktail or chicken liver pate for starters. The main course choice was British Roast Beef, Poached or Roasted breast of Chicken, Seared Seabass fillet, each came with all the trimmings. For dessert, the choice was White Chocolate Cheesecake, Forest Berry Eton Mess or Spiced Sticky Toffee Pudding, again each had their trimmings. After the meal, there was tea or coffee. It was a lovely meal, well presented and hot and the waiting staff were very friendly and polite. We were told that they serve meals here all week and each meal is great and not too expensive. There was a lovely view from the restaurant looking over the greens and to the distant hills. They will help with any special dietary requirements. Plenty of free car parking and everywhere was very clean. A great day was had by all. Well worth a visit whether for a meal or to relax for a drink, inside or out. It certainly was a great wedding venue.

We have had some superb Sunday lunches at Parklands, but our last two visits have shown a decline in both service and quality of food, I suspect bought about by the popularity of the restaurant. Don't get me wrong its still good and represents great value (which is partly why its become so popular), but I suspect that the roast potatoes are reheated and vegetable portions seem identical for couples or groups of four (we asked for more and they came without question, but hey!) As the extended lunch session (from 12.00-16.00) continues, the beef becomes overcooked (to keep it warm) so sadly not a as good as it used to be. Sunday lunch is a family affair and Parklands is a large, well spaced restaurant with glorious views of the golf club. Such a shame that so many families cant control there precious ones who run around the tables and the stage unchallenged. It is a many reviews have identified a lovely restaurant where service and quality in the past has been exceptional, its popularity is now beginning to damage that reputation.

So many pluses for Parklands : a lovely setting, perfect ambiance, attentive staff, lashings of fresh vegetables, one or two good puddings, quickly-cleared tables....but why did the fish stay in the Ocean? I've never asked for a Seafood Mixed Grill before - so I built myself up for 7 or 8 different fishes, attractively set out : the equivalent of a Meaty Mixed Grill. One or two fish tail-ends did certainly not match my expectations. What was the Chef thinking of ? And why has he not sent me a photograph of what a Seafood Mixed Grill should look like, so that I can tell him or her whether that's what came? I shall still return for the Pork my friend had.

At first, everything was hunky dory. There were wonderful views - and very attentive staff. Moreover, my Pork Sunday Roast was mostly brilliant. The joint was cooked to perfection. Vegetables were plentiful - and replenished. Only the Yorkshire pudding was baleful : too tough to eat...and that applied to other Yorkshires I saw. When will Chefs learn to do a PLATE Yorkshire Pudding, fresh, and then divide it up ? I was also pleased with my Soup and my dessert[ lemon tart ]. Only then did I dig deeper. Not all hors d'oeuvres were such good value for money. But worse, the place wasn't heated. Especially the Bar, anteroom, wasn't heated...and this in Midwinter! Worst of all, someone on my table asked for a vegetarian option. Another companion sat nearer - and said this uninviting bowl of dry [ dried?] pasta was absolutely inedible. Yet we all live in a Society where it's not polite to send food back. That is why my 5-Star Review ended with 3!

We held our Anniversary Lunch at the venue in January. Scott, the chef, and his wife Clare were so helpful during the preparation and their attention to detail made all the difference and enabled the day to be very special. The view over the golf course made the room that bit different to most venues, and the partitioned area was exactly right for the 42 guests sitting down. Scott put together a bespoke menu, the food was superbly cooked, and all our special requests were accommodated. All present were very impressed with both the food, and the service was neither hurried, nor protracted. We would not hesitate to recommend Parklands.

Have been twice before in the evening and both times the food and service have been excellent so we decided to go for Sunday lunch to celebrate my sisters birthday. Once again the food was to an exceptionally high standard with plenty of choice. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent, leaving just the right amount of time between courses and we didn't feel at all rushed. The room was lovely and warm with views over the golf course. Tables were beautifully set with plenty of room between tables. Definitely top of our list for good food around Hinckley. We will be back again... and again.

4 of us had Christmas Day lunch here this year. Lovely glass of chilled bubbly on arrival and great attentive service. The views are beautiful across the golf course and the tables were really specially set. I don't eat meat and the veggie option was gorgeous and looked spectacular. Good quality crackers on the table, one of my pet hates are cheap crackers! We didn't feel rushed and were properly indulged for a special day. It was expensive as is expected on Christmas Day and the only criticisms from the rest of the family were no bread sauce and no pigs in blankets for the turkey option. I saved a bit each month to go and it was definitely worth it, we will be back

Four of us went out for a pre Christmas meal. We were given a warm welcome by the staff . The choice of food included homemade pâté and homemade mushroom and chestnut soup for starters and Blade of Beef, Lamb and Roast Pheasant for main course. The service was excellent even though there was a much larger party in another room having a dinner we did not at anytime feel neglected. Thanks very much to the team, we will be back.P.S. You do not have to play golf to enjoy the pleasure of dining here.

You cannot fail to be impressed at the special ' mid-week dining' on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at Hinckley Golf Club. Much, much better than pub food-totally restaurant quality ( 2 mains for £14).Great choice, very courteous service and fab food. Best kept secret in Hinckley. Had a lovely Sunday lunch with 8 other family members. The menu catered for everyone's tastes including smaller portions for the children. The view from the table was fantastic across the golf course and the table layout was great. The only negative is the room we were in was a function room and not an actually restaurant but the food was brilliant and I I would defiantly visit again.

Despite having lived in Hinckley for most of my life, I'd never actually eaten here before. Having left our NYE plans rather late, we managed to get tickets for their 'Sparkle Ball'.If I'm being honest, the ticket price was a little steep (£79.95pp) for a meal, VERY mediochre live band and no DJ although we did have a good time.My review score is purely based on the food which I thought was excellent. All well cooked and beautifully presented - far better than I was anticipating. Staff were also great - efficient and attentive. Would definitely go back to eat.

We booked a table for 10 for Sunday lunch to celebrate a family birthday. We were one of the first in the restaurant at 12.20pm, but from the moment we arrived to the time that we left (where every table was full) the restaurant staff could not have been more attentive. Three of our party were children (age range 5-8) and they were able to either choose off the main menu, changing dishes to suit their requirements or were offered the usual kids food such as pizza, fish fingers or sausages. This worked really well for us as the 8 year old loves 'grown up' food and the younger ones preferred pizza and chips. The menu had approx 6 starters to choose from and circa 8 main courses. Every one of us was very impressed with the quality of the food. I had stuffed mushrooms followed by roast sirloin of beef which was just melt in the mouth. Vegetables were brought to the table separately and we had cauliflower cheese, red cabbage, broccoli, French beans and carrots. Roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle - just the way they should be! Extra gravy was also brought to the table.Desserts were to die for (I 'shared' rhubarb crumble with nutmeg custard and an orange and gingerbread cheesecake with my husband). Prices were all very reasonable.I would definitely recommend this place for a family Sunday lunch and we will be going back.
