The Lavender Blue Paperie in Hinckley and Bosworth

I have purchased several cards from Aljiche for special birthdays or family weddings. The quality of each card is absolutely exceptional as well as the personal attention to detail. Packaging and prompt delivery are also to be rated highly. I am not normally into writing reviews but these cards and their presentation deserve the highest recommendation.

Fuimos con un amigo de los estados unidos mientras visitábamos a nuestra hija en la universidad de Leicester, reservamos por la fuerza de las críticas positivas recibidas y tengo que decir que no nos decepcionó, es el mejor "té de la tarde" cualquiera de nosotros tuvimos, las tartas y los divinos sándwiches frescos. No dudaría en recomendar una visita a "La Lavanda azul" para un relajante Paperie sabroso regalo.

A warm welcome is always offered here, along with a varied menu and delicious cakes. The Paperie has an abundance of beautiful, handmade cards for any occasion.

Fuimos a este lugar para el almuerzo ayer después de mi otra mitad pareció mientras pasear al perro. I have just received two lovely hand made cards.Beautifully made and packaged tissue wrapped in a matching box. Very impressed and would highly recommend The Lavender Blue.

Once again, a lovely afternoon tea, one must really try the speciality teas and the cakes are mouth watering. I love popping in here.

Based on the reviews I had read I had high expectations of this place. The location is pleasant enough and the conservatory has been made into a light airy French-themed cafe area which was quite nice but slightly overpowered by the incessant musique a la Francais. What really disappointed me was the quality of the food and drink we had. My latte was made from a sachet, and the soup a l'oignon was lukewarm, and bore little resemblance to what it described itself as. The menu is limited in the number of choices, which is not necessarily a bad thing if the food is freshly prepared, but there is no excuse for serving poor food when it is so simple. I am sure the afternoon tea would be a better option than lunch, as the cake did look good!

This is a wonderful little gem of a place where I have enjoyed a freshly baked cream tea this afternoon...Very attractive surroundings, a very warm welcome from the hostess Aljich...lovely food, a varied menu and a large variety of beautifully hand crafted cards and gifts too.Well worth a visit...this is somewhere I will definately be going back to soon !

Relaxing lunch time meal with beautifully presented and tasting food and warm, excellent service. Will definitely be back again soon!
